It was a little nippy here this AM and still not warm. Tomorow it is supposed to be warmer. In about a week we will be thinking of getting some tomato plants. I may even plant some gours seeds I got from some gourds, they are very old and many not come up.
Lee, I think we had frost one year with 36 degrees. You were wise bringing the plants in. Our last frost date used to be May 20, don't kmow what it is now. Fay quit buying Hallmark cards years ago.
Cheese crackers or peant butter crackers, can't go wrong K2.
Tierney's are coming over this evening.

So good to check in and see Kathie and Mike stop by. I know our Karen is trying to cut back a tad on screen time so I’ll give her a ”hall pass”.
May 24th used to be the planting date here Mike but the whole danged world seems upside down and sideways these days.
Congratulations to Jill and Mark on 29 years. Enjoy that pizza!
We had another nice walk along the river through Fort Malden this afternoon. I’ll be bringing the plants in again tonight with temps expected to dip into the mid to low 30’s.

Checking in from dry, dusty Belleview! Got some weird stuff going on with my eyes again, my eye lids seem to be swollen, especially on the inside corner near my nose. I called the Dr.'s office & they called back to say he didn't think it was related to the new drops. She said he suggested putting warm compresses on my eyes over the weekend. She did say if it got worse to go to an Urgent Care center or call the Dr.'s office back, she said they have a dr. on call over the weekend. As Kathie say's always something!

KAREN: Your Eye Dr told you the right thing to do by putting WARM COMPRESSES ON YOUR EYES!!
My favorite eye doctor, who is now retired, told me years ago that moist warm compresses are very good for dry eye.
I do it every time I’m in the shower. I just put a wash cloth over my eyes and let the warm water beat on the wash cloth. My eyes always feel better after doing that. Dr Derr was a fantastic eye doctor.

Lee: I envy you being able to get so close to the water for walks. I bet the flowers are starting to come out in the park.
I too covered my porch plants last night and will do it again tonight. We have a deep overhang on the porch, so they’re out of the open and wind.
Mike: Whose turn was it to provide the “sweets“ for the Tierney visit?
I’m going off to Krogers now ….yes…at 8:00 pm! It’s 2 mins from our house and less crowded at this hour.
FYI: We enjoyed ‘Breakfast’ FOR ‘Dinner’ tonight. I made us some yummy
blueberry pancakes and fluffy scrambled eggs w/ some shredded cheddar cheese added.

Breakfast for dinner is never a bad thing Kathie. Yes, the flowers in The Navy Yard are starting to bloom. It was very bright there this morning with the sun on them.

Our predicted overnight low was way off. It was 48F when Ava and I headed out for our early walk. With all of the technology I wonder how the weather people can be so far off. I’m suspecting we’ll exceed the forecast high of 75F for today!

Hello ALL you Wrabbits!

I was driving around doing my "errands" and you would have thought that they were GIVING AWAY thousand dollar bills at the Malls off of Hall Rd. Traffic up and down that road and many others was UNBELIEVABLE! I curtailed doing some errands and will try again on Monday.

I did go to the Veggie Market and found FLORIDA CORN for $.50 cent each. Amazing price for this market. They usually scalp you with the 1st load of home-grown corn. I got 6 for us and 6 to give to the kids. The best thing at this market is they have an Espresso area and Gelato too. I got a Single Shot of fresh made Espresso and slugged it down on the way out like it was the finest Scotch around. Ha Ha. Gave me the kick I needed to make us dinner tonight!

Lee: I didn't cover my 2 plants last night. I saw at around midnight that the temps were only going down in the mid-45's.

Nice to see you stop by Kathie. The roads in our downtown and by the by The Navy Yard were crazy busy too! We went to one of the garden centres and just drove by. The parking lot was jammed. Lu-Ann is looking for a Weeping Pea Shrub / Tree to put in at the front. A couple of other plants didn’t fare too well there.
BBQ’d veggie burgers for dinner on nice fresh brioche buns. I like a good veggie burger if it’s cooked right.

Good evening!

Kathie, I made the mistake of going to Walmart early this afternoon, it was crazy busy, you'd think it was Christmas Eve or something. I did notice lots of flowers & plants in people's shopping carts so I bet a lot of Mom's are getting garden gifts for Mother's Day!

Lee, so far the eyes aren't swollen any worse so I'll take that as a good sign. Looking on Google last night I found a bunch of reasons eye lids could swell including allergies or sty's. My eyes don't look anything like the pictures I found so I'm guessing the doc is right & it's nothing to worry about.

Mike, I think most of us suffer from growing wider instead of taller as we age. What was last nights dessert of choice?

Today was work day at church, when I got there at 7 it was just Jim, Carmen & I, but a little while later my friend Pamela came so the 4 of us got the bushes all trimmed up nice & tidy.
Tomorrow the men are fixing breakfast for the ladies & it's generally very good, I'm looking forward to it!
Had another teaser rain this evening, lot's of rumbles, little rain.
If I don't make it on tomorrow I want to wish Kathie, LuAnn & Fay a very Happy Mother's Day!

A very Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there.
Lu-Ann and I watched “Nonnas” on Netflix last evening. It’s a cute movie based on a true story. I noticed one of the hand written recipes was for “Sunday Gravy”. That made me think of Pat because she always called pasta sauce gravy. And I smiled.

Another beautiful day here. We did a couple of chores and enjoyed a walk in the park.Lots of families out with Mom. The restaurants and coffee shops were all bustling.
That’s just one of my favourite lines from the late Jimmy Buffett Mike. I too am growing older and wiser um, make that wider.
You had asked about the flowers in The Navy Yard Kathie. I took this shot this morning. In the background is a “pensioner’s cottage“ and you can see The River just beyond.

Good afternoon, so sun today in the Sunshine state, no rain either just grey & gloomy!

Lee, breakfast was delish! I should have taken a picture, as we walked in there was a long table full of assorted fresh fruit & glasses of juice. Then on to the serving area where we were offered scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage & homefries as well as French Toast, I skipped the bacon & sausage but had some of everything else.

Kathie, your custom made pizza lunch sounds like a fun time for Mother's Day! And congrats to Jill & Mark on their anniversary!

A quick good morning.
I have to hop in the shower and then head up to the hospital for my 6 month PSA test. Fingers crossed that numbers are still as good as they have been. I’ll find out next week when the urology oncologist calls. If Lu-Ann is up she’s going to come for the ride and then we’ll pop in to Anchor Coffee for a light breakfast. And a coffee.
Both entertaining Jimmy’s Mike! Of course now I won’t get The Great Louis Armstrong singing “Hello Dolly” out of my mind. And it’s already full.

K2 Did you enjoy your dentist app. I can t hink of a few things to do that I like better and awhole lot that I like a lot less.
I had a nice pleasant surprise today. About the begining of this month I got some gourd seeds from a gourd that I grew. the gourd was more than 5 years old and I didn't expect anything. I wrapped some toilet paper around it and kept it moist. Today one of the seeds has sprouted. I'm not sure of how to plant it but I'm goint to wait antil I think the ground is warmer. I hope I don't kill it by transplanting it.

Traffic to dental appt was light. Thank goodness. Appt went well. Got the usual new Toothbrush, floss and a sample of tooth paste.
Went to Partridge Creek Mall looking for something to buy for Ashley's 26th B-Day on Tuesday. Well, let me tell you it's NOT EASY being my age and trying to BUY something COOL looking for your granddaughter. I hate just giving her money, but it may come to that next year. I got receipts for everything I bought and will be happy to give them to her, so she doesn't get stuck with a "STORE CREDIT" if she should need to return anything. One nice gift was a 1,000 piece Puzzle that is super cool looking. I bought it a few months ago, so that was very helpful.

Louis Armstrong was the best back in the day. Loved how he sang HELLO DOLLY!

Mike: I still have the Painted gourds you gave me one year. I put them on the Christmas Tree.
Hope your seeds take the replanting and you get some neat gourds. I know you use to get lots of them.
I think you got some RAIN today according to the weather chart.
I can't help but think of our DAVE when I see the weather man point out areas in OHIO on the map. Sure is hard not having him around to let us know how their grocery shopping went and how many "things" he put in the basket before Kathi saw them. And of course, all the 7-Up and Jack Daniels that he loved to sip on. Hate when a good friend is missing from the group.

Karen: Is it still crazy HOT in your area? How's the crocheting coming along??

Lee: Hope that test comes back with low scores. Not sure you'll be walking to the Navy Park on Tuesday. It's supposed to rain overnight and stop around 8:00 a.m. then start later in the evening again. Your best bet will be mid-morning - early afternoon. Good luck tell Ava there might be a delay in the walk.

Out of here for now. I'm beat. It's been a long day for this old lady!
