Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good dreary morning.
We‘re starting the day at 45F but it feels like 37F. This is May 4th isn’t it? The forecast here is for rain all day. :(
It is nice when the effort you put in to a recipe - anything for that matter - is rewarded with two thumbs up Kathie. I suspect with the price of restaurant food more than $19 would be a better guess. Nice to have your Orioles back. We were glad to have a dollar store for grape jelly when we put the oriole feeder up in Ayr. They sure do enjoy it.

Gosh Karen, I never thought about the direction the church choir might take without its director. And with Reverend Lisa having so much extra on her plate with the losses of family she hasn’t had a lot of spare time to recruit.
I think I need an early cup of coffee. I’ll get the pot ready because I know Mike will join me. The rest of you are welcome to have a cup (a small cup for Karen) too.
Have a fantastic and safe Sunday everyone.

Good afternoon! Morning started out with thunder boomers & light rain but by the time we left church at 10:30 the sun was out in full force, kind of a bummer as we needed a LOT more rain!

Lee, the choir normally breaks for the summer at the end of May so we are just starting our break a little earlier. Rev. Lisa has been advertising on Indeed & other places for an organist/choir director but they are kind of a vanishing breed these days. I'm trying to limit my coffee to 1 cup per day unless I have decaf and no more than 1-2 glasses a wine a week. Not sure if it will actually make a difference or not, but I'll give it a try. Also no more that 15 mins. at a time on the computer, THAT I do think will help probably a lot!

Kathie, nice that your cooking adventure turned out well. I do take Melatonin before I go to bed at night, my biggest problem is waking up in the middle of the night & not being able to go back to sleep. This morning it was 1 am and took a couple hours to fall back asleep.

Mike, if like HOT weather you would love living in Florida, especially if you like Sauna Hot heat. Right now it's been in the high 80's and no humidity so it's not bad, another month or so & that will change big time!

Rev. Lisa was back today & we sure were glad to see her! I didn't stay for the 10:30 service since there was no choir. Next week is Mother's day & they will have a breakfast for the ladies at 9 between the 8 & 10:30 services so I'll go to that & then the later mass.
Had a nice weekend with my sisters, got some pool time in. Jane went to church with me to the crochet group meeting, she seemed to enjoy it, but said she would need to take a pillow next time. The chairs were to hard to sit in for almost 2 hours & no moving around.
Bad news on the new mower, I plugged the charger in today to charge the batteries & one of them showed bad. So I will go with Barb to take it back, I doubt they will have any left at the price they were selling for. I feel really bad cause we showed Jane the new mower Friday & she thought it was pretty cool. I should have waited to test it out first. If they do happen to have any left I will ask to test the batteries before taking it home, if they won't let me then we'll pass on another one
Enjoy your Sunday all!

I haven't seen an oriole in years
Lee I'm guessing if it cuts thru wet grass it will do a pretty good job on any lawn. I'll join you in that cup of coffee

Karen, I would probably love living in Florida and Fay would hate it.
Coffee, here I come

Still raining here. And no break in sight. Well, good for the grass and fields I suppose.
I wish I could send a few drops your way Karen. Fingers crossed for a number of things. Hopefully cutting back a tad on the beverages will help your eyes. As well, that the store is able to make the charger / battery right for Jane’s mower.
I don’t think I’d enjoy the heat at the height of Florida’s summers Mike. but I can always enjoy a coffee.
Hi Kathie. :wave4:

It has cleared up and the sun is shining but a little on the cool side.
I hope cutting back on the coffee helps a little Karen. The 15 minutes on the computer might help, my eyes burn if I stay on it too long.
Lee, I think I would enjoy Fl. in the winter, maybe ever further south. We used to cruise the Carrabbean in Feb. and I loved it. That is from a person that enjoyed the cold.

Shhhh it’s not time to get up!
I’m just passing through!
:toilet:Ha ha

It’s still raining up here at 2:30 am. It’s been a “light” steady rain since noon. The CREEK IS UP and the Ducks are going to love it at dawn. The Mother Robin is all tucked in on the nest. So glad she got the nice protected ledge to make her nest on.

Okay back to bed for me.

Still overcast but on the bright side it has stopped raining for now. That gave me a chance just now to get my 4 yard waste bags to the curb.
You were very quiet at 2:38 am Kathie. I didn’t hear you. Thanks for saying “hi”.

Lu-Ann and I used to enjoy a week or two on board a southern cruise in winter too Mike. Heck, we used to enjoy any time on a cruise ship. But that whole experience has become more like riding an expensive bus. As did air travel. For the past few years we have been happy to enjoy a couple of months in FL for about the same cost as a really nice cruise vacation and associated air fare. But in fairness we do get an amazing price from the lady who’s vacation home we rent.
Hopefully St. Mary’s can find that right person to head up the music and choir Karen. Maybe two folks could split the duties. One to play the organ and an existing choir member to lead the vocals.
Lu-Ann has an eye appointment this morning. This afternoon is our dance class. I know if I still have a bit of a cough she’ll be worried about me at dance but I know how much we do enjoy it.
Anyway, you all have a magnificent Monday!
We’ll see you later on.

Good Afternoon Wrabbits.
COOLER here AGAIN! 58F and overcast. The rain filled the creek and watered the grass big time. Everything is GREEN and our poor lawn man, Ed, will have his worked cut out for him this week with tall grass at all his stops! o_O

Lee: Glad you got your yard waste out inbetween rain drops!
We had 8 bags of yard waste from Winter clean that we put out for Fridays pick-up. Amazing how much dead branches all those Arbrovitae (?) shrubs drop through the Winter/Spring months. Not to mention the pine cones from the spruce trees.

Have fun at the dance class. Just cough in your sleeve! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Karen, Mike.... Hope you two have a good day.

Family Tea GIF by Simon Super Rabbit

I'm off to deliver one of my Lemon-Blueberry loafs to TASS. Her sister was married to Art's brother. The 3 of them at one point shared a home. Tass now lives there alone. She's the gal that owns the Anderson Lake Cottage. It was her parents that bought the lake property in the 1930's and built the cottage on it. Talk about being in the family a long time. When Tass's sister, Judy, married Curt (Art's brother) and her parent's passed the cottage got transferred to the Anderson's. Hence, that's why it's called the Anderson Lake Cottage. Actually, TASS WERTH is now the official living owner since Curt & Judy have passed. ARE YOU KEEPING UP WITH ALL THIS?? There will be a test later in the week! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Now get back to whatever you were doing and have a good day. :emoticon 0136 giggle:

This plumber found this in a clogged sewer line leading to a home in Florida.
YIKES is all I can say. Karen check your toilet bowl often! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Holy Cow Kathie! I bet that’s not what anybody had in mind when the plumber called for a “toilet snake”. That’s quite the line passing The Anderson Lake Cottage down. I’ll need to study for that test. Mmmm. Lemon - Blueberry loaf. I bet a slice of that goes good with a coffee.
Ava and I went for a walk and fed the squirrels at The Navy Yard while Lu-Ann was at the eye doctor. We popped in to Starbucks drive through and then waited for Lu-Ann to finish up. I think dance class is on.

May 5Th Cinco De Mayo GIF by Juan Billy
Today's Cinco-Mayo Day. We have a HUGE area in Detroit that's called Mexican Village. Best restaurants and groceries stores in that area. It'll be packed with WANT-A-BE Mexicans today and tonight! We used to go down there for Cinco Day.

LEE.... I love your quick wit with the "toilet Snake" comment! You never disappoint.

TASS... loved the delivery of the Lemon-Blueberry loaf. Her breathing issues look like they are taking a toll on her health since the last time I saw her. She's on constant oxygen with long tubing from the machine that runs through the house.
Take care of your LUNGS folks.

Art worked outside almost all of the day 're-setting' black edging along the front walkway to the porch area that MR WINTER lifted up. Looks really nice and even now. Bless that man for all he does around the outside of the house this time of the year.

My nephew has 1 more round of Chemo on Thursday and then a short break before he starts his rounds of radiation. Amazingly he hasn't lost his beard or eyebrows yet.
Hope all these treatments work for him. He's a great giving person.

Dinner is in the oven and I'm off to enjoy an evening coffee.

Hope the dance class went well Lee.

Hello to Karen and Mike.

After seeing that snake, I thought about building and out house but don't think the city of Fairfield would. If you have read about frump wanting to be pope here are some of the memes in response to the picture he posted and is denying he did the second one has to be enlarged.

Argh!!! More rain.
I had seen the one meme before Mike. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
I too sometimes forget to hit post Kathie. Usually I catch it within a day. We made it to dance. Good thing as there were only four of us. We know our young instructor, Kaydence, likes to keep the current music upbeat and LOUD but we‘re not in our 20’s! We prefer 60’s, 70’s and 80’s tunes. I think “take care of your health” would cover it all. I never dreamed that my Sweetie and I would face the health issues we have. I bet Tass really appreciated the loaf and likely the visit.

How did you make out at the lawn mower place Karen? What brand is it? Mine is a Ryobi as are the weed whacker and blower. They came as a package. I bought the extra charger and two batteries when they had an end of season sale.
Lu-Ann is making Rice Krispie squares to take to games day. Easy and everybody likes them.
Have a good, safe day folks.

Good morning!

Lee, bummer about the loud music at dance class, I'm not a fan of loud music of any type either. Mower return went ok yesterday, Barb was in a hurry so we didn't even try exchange it. It was a Greenworks brand, which is the same brand I had before & the same brand as Jane's current Electric mower. I'm wondering if the units were "refurbished" models & maybe that is why the battery was defective.

Kathy, nice history lesson on the Anderson Lake cottage. Glad you were able to visit Tass & gift her one of your yummy loaf breads! You should have just left your 3 day old posting, at our age we probably wouldn't have even notice it wasn't current news. :)

Mike, I don't think I'd feel any safer with an outside potty, I'd be worried about what might be hiding in the corners. Growing up our next door neighbor had the old outhouse, I can still remember the smell of the lime he would douse it with every summer.

New printer arrived yesterday & I managed to get the old one uninstalled & the new one installed without any major issues. I have the old one listed for free on Marketplace, someone who knows about stuff like that may be able to get it fixed. I did wonder too if it might be because the color ink cartridge was empty? I have a brand new one, but didn't want to waste installing it if the old printer wasn't going to work.
I did managed to pick up a birthday present for Jane yesterday from Marketplace, she has 2 faux wicker chairs on her front porch that have seen better days, they were a feebie from one of the neighbors in here. Home Depot had a set I was going to buy her but they were $200, for $50 on FB I got her 2 nice heavy wrought Iron chairs. They could use a coat of paint & some cushions but even that won't be that expensive. The lady had them listed for $70 & I asked her if she'd take $50 and she said yes, and she was only about a mile away from me. Now I have to figure out how to keep them hidden until Jane's birthday in July.
Have a great day & stay cool or warm & dry!

Good Morning Wrabbits!

Raining most of the night. Nothing hard, just a nice light rain that kept Artie from biking! :(

The lawn man, Ed, will be a day late in all his jobs this week if this rain continues. He has been know to cut grass when it's in between rain drops!
It was mild enough last night to keep the master bathroom window open through the night. Made it nice to snuggle under the covers around 3:00 a.m. Not too cold or hot. Nice fresh smell from the rain.

Today, soon, I'll be venturing out to the Manny's house to let him out and play with the "Overly Spoiled Pup"! Everyone is going to be gone all day and he's used to having at least one person home all day. Mark is in Phoenix on business and the rest are at work.

Karen, nice job getting the 2 chairs. Do you think you could put them by the Pool House and hope that nobody would take them or mind that they were there. I'd be tempted to just give the chairs to Jane as an early B-day gift. I thought I saw outside chair cushions at our Dollar Store the other day. They weren't really 'thick', but they looked good. I think they were $3.00 each.
Good job getting the printer hooked up without any trouble. Write the date on it so you know how long it lasts! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Lee: I'm with you on any LOUD MUSIC. Yet alone having to listen to current music that really isn't "music" at all in my ears!

Mike: You getting any of the rain I see on the WEATHER MAPS on the NEWS. Seems like the South from Texas -Eastward is getting some bad storms.
We got to see the Oriloes again yesterday 2 times. Brilliant color on those birds.

You all make the best of the day. I'm off to get ready to head to see my Manny.

k2, We had very light rain this morning and the sun is shining now. It is supposed to be cloudy today and nor rain for about a week. Do you feed those beatiful orioels? I forgot what I used to feed them.
I don't like the very loud music either Lee. We had a DJ once and we had to turn it down a couple of nothces. We almost quit going to Texas Road house because it was so loud.
Karen, 2 wrought iron chairs for $50. You got a good deal. They could be pretty heavy though. I'm having trouble with my printer printing colored pictures, think like your's it is low on ink.
Have a good rest of the day.

Well, at least it’s not raining! But we do have a foggy start to the day.
Ava was up early this morning and headed straight to the laundry room. That’s where her lead hangs. Pretty much “Come on, we’re going for a walk”.
I imagine that you see that brightness in Mr. Manny too Kathie. Pets don’t have to talk to tell us exactly what they want.
The forecast here changes quicker than I can keep up with it Mike. After an all day rain the sun broke through about 5:00. We were supposed to see rain all week. Not now.
I’m glad that you got the mower sorted Karen. One of the building stores here sells Greenworks. It seems every manufacturer of battery operated power tools builds battery powered lawn equipment.
Lu-Ann is off with the ladies to one of the garden centres to pick up pots and baskets to brighten up to front of the house. I think I’ll try to get the front lawn cut. It needs it after all the rain.
Have a super day everyone.

Mike Elias

I image you have the lawn cut by now Lee, that is one job that I don;'t miss. Ava can tell what kind of day it is without seeing it.
Fay has gone shopping to day , I don't think she wanted to go but we needed a few things.
