Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Time to say good night from our little corner of the world. Did lots of running around today taking care of some jobs that we were neglecting. Ate leftover chicken cacciatore and still have enough that went in the freezer for another day. My kind of meal!!

Now it's time to relax and watch some TV shows that we recorded last night but didn't get to watch.

So good night from here. Sleep well, bunnies and I will see you tomorrow, God willing! :)

Nite from Macomb!

Another 32F night!
The PEACH and CHERRY and APPLE ORCHARDS are getting hit HARD here in our area. Feel bad fir the owners. :(

Good Thursday morning, Bunnies!

Sucks that you've got a smaller gas tank now, Lee. You run out of gas before you finish what you wanted to do. But in time, your energy reservoir will return.

K2; The person who's going to measure for the carpet today called yesterday and said she'd be here between 10 and 11. So Kathi is going to stay home while I'm at the hospital getting my yearly lung CT scan.

Thanks for explaining what Prednisone does for you, BB. That sounds like one great tool to have in your tool-box.

As much as you hydrate Lee, I wouldn't be surprised if most of your indoor walks end up in the bathroom.

My CT scan is scheduled early so I'd better start getting ready.

Look out the windows and find something beautiful to look at today. There is so much out there that is.

Good Mid-Morning Gang.
Baking a special Serbian Sponge Cake for our dear OLDEST CHOIR MEMBER....NICK!.

NICK IS 99 YEARS YOUNG TODAY! WOW. HE MANAGED TO MAKE THIS FAR. Thank God!
The choir and other church members are going to meet in front of his Senior Living residence today at 1:45 pm to sing him a Traditional Happy Birthday and a Serbian "Wishing you Many, Many Years" song. Should be nice.

Lee: I hope you have a elevated toilet seat. We have one and pass it around in the original box as friends and family need it. If the damn border was open I would have dropped it off at your home.
After Art's many back surgeries we bought a gizmo that goes onto the toilet that has WONDERFUL handles. We decided since it's in our master bathroom and nobody but us use that bathroom we would leave it there. Sure makes getting up EASIER! Ha ha.
Think about getting one from Amazon. Lu-Ann could put this on it in minutes. Or one of your neighbors! Worth every penny.

Okay, I'll be back later. The butter and sugar are mixing as I type and I need to get back to it.

It's SUNNY and COLD here. I'll take SUNNY any day.

Here's a RISER-COMBO unit. (Less strain on you getting up and down on the seat. We have a separate one of these. Do a Google and you'll find all kinds.

Here's the flowers the choir sent to Nick yesterday! The man looks great for 99 yrs old and taking care of himself in his own apartment! He does his own laundry right across the hall from his apartment. Amazing man.

May be an image of 1 person, balloon and indoor

Good morning, all you nice people! A perfect chamber of commerce day around here - temps in the high 70s with low humidity. Now if only that 12mph wind would go away, it would be perfect!

Kathie - That sure is cold where you are. I bet the snow isn't melting too fast, except in the sun. I do hope you take a picture of that cake you are making for Nick. He does look fabulous for his age.
We've got a similar gizmo for on the toilet, except ours has legs that go down to the floor and doesn't impact the bowl at all. It also uses the regular toilet seat. I'm fine with that, but I need those arms for leverage to get up of the toilet. We've got 2 of them. The one in our bathroom stays attached and the one in the guest bathroom can be removed quickly, if someone is staying in the guest room and doesn't need the extra support getting up.
What a fun discussion to have here. Shows we're getting older!!

Karen - You still resting your weary bones from the other day putting that floor down in Barb's house? Sure hope you're taking it easy.

Dave - I hope you pass your CT scan test with flying colors! Nice that the carpet gal called and gave you the time already. I hope she showed up on time. You said, "Look out the windows and find something beautiful to look at today. There is so much out there that is."
I love to do that and could sit for hours looking at the lake and watching all the boats at the various docks. Often I'll see one or two eagles sitting on a rook looking for something to eat. It definitely is our little piece of heaven on earth!

Lee - We have nightlights all over this house. Bert is obsessed with having them, even in rooms we don't use that often, just in case someone is staying over or the kids are here and might get frightened if they can't see any light. Heck, we have one in our bedroom and 2 in our bathroom.

Not too much going on around here today. We are going to the Grille for dinner tonight with friends. Couldn't believe the special dinner this week is salmon. We just had that 2 nights ago and will finish the last of it tomorrow, so definitely no salmon for us tonight! I'm thinking maybe wings and jalapeno poppers would work.

Well, that's about it for me right now. I have a few things to take care of around here before I can relax and go back to looking at the lake!! Have a wonderful day, everyone, and stay safe! :)

Good afternoon!! I need you dear bunnies to do me a favor...the next time I mention putting down flooring for someone...PLEASE call the people with the fitted white coats & have me taken away!! My thighs are killing me....hurts to sit...hurts to get up...hurts to walk...who needs a thighmaster...just put down a couple boxes of flooring & you are good to go!!t

Lee, sorry to hear your sleep cycle is so off whack....is it because you are uncomfortable or just from being in the hospital for so long? Hope you get back in sync soon!

Pat, good to hear the meds are doing the trick. Not sure about where you are but it was down right nippy here this morning...but bright sun & blue skies makes it all just fine!

Dave, hope the CT scan went well this morning...and the new carpet estimate doesn't take to big of a bite out of your budget...at least you have something soft & pretty to show for it...

Kathie, wow..Mr Nick sure does look great for his age! God Bless him...I hope he makes it to 100 or even longer!! I'm sure he'll be thrilled to have the choir show up to sing for him.

Not a lot going on around here today...I did get Barb's baseboard put down in her kitchen...and worked on replacing the floor in her sink cabinet...her faucet leaked & ruined the partical board in the bottom...need to pick up a piece of plywood to put back in there now...but that is a project that can wait till next week...I need to sweep my floors but I think a short nap is going to happen first...I woke up about 5 this morning & could not go back to sleep...catch you all later...

Staples are out!
Nick sure does look wonderful for being 99 years young Kathie. I bet some of that is thanks to the treats you’re always sending. The handles for the toilet wouldn’t do in this case. I’m not supposed to push, pull or exert more than 5lbs of force on anything. No matter where I’m seated I have to stand without using my hand.
Are your nightlights motion detectors Pat? Does Bert have a theme like Disney, Sea World...? I’d be into the salmon at The Grille! Enjoy you dinner.
Now Karen. Are you sure you want us calling Mr Peanut to have you taken away with the rest of the nuts? I think for now it’s simply a case of trying to get back on track with my sleep. I’m a side sleeper which I am not supposed to do for at least 6 weeks until my sternum heals. So, I’ve been “sleeping” in the Lazy Boy so I’m at least propped upright.
How’d the test go there Dave?
Time to help with dinner. Ya, just one more thing I have to build up to.
You all be good and stay safe.

Karen: I feel for you girl. My legs and body react like that after I plant my flowers around the garden. OUCH.

Lee: Next time I go to the bathroom I’m going to see if I can get up by just using my legs and not touching my hands to my knees or anything. You’re going to have strong stomach muscles once you’re all healed.
Glad the stitches are out. Did they have to CRACK your ribs? Not sure if they even do that anymore?? Hope they didn’t leave any instruments in you! LOL!

The choir did a good job singing to Nick. He looked surprised.

Last check in for tonight. Went to the Grille for dinner and it was pretty crowded. lots of people eating on the lanai. We ate inside. Only reason we didn't order the salmon dinner, which sounded fantastic was because we just had salmon Tuesday night and are going to have the rest of it tomorrow night.
I wanted to go to Twisty Treats for dessert which is soft service ice cream. We got there and there was a line waiting to go through the drive thru. My very impatient husband waited only a few minutes and decided to leave to come home. No dessert for me tonight! :( No anything else for him tonight!! :clap002:

Lee - Glad your staples are out. I'm sure that already that is much more comfortable for you. Just continue to heal, big guy and in a few weeks, you will be chasing Lu-Ann around the house again!! LOL

Kathie - Loved the pictures of the gathering to celebrate Nick's birthday. He seemed very happy with all the fuss that was made about him.

Karen - NOW are you ready to sit down and take a break from all this work you are doing for your sister? You have got to get them to back off for a bit to give you to get all the aches and pains under control again.

Time to say good night on here. Not much on TV tonight, but I'll find some cooking show just todrive Bert nuts for not staying in line for my ice cream tonight!! Tee Hee!!!!

Have a good night and I will see you all in the morning!:)

Pat, Bert could have at least taken you to Wendy's for a frosty if the Twisty Treat was to busy....forgot to mention....Barb drove over to Daytona Beach yesterday & she was all excited to see this "big huge gas station".....I said Buckee's....and she's like how did you know? She was already on the interstate heading home when she saw the name on the sign....I see another road trip in our future....

Night from Belleview...Thurs. night TV stinks...

Just passin’ through to see if anybody left anything in the fridge to nibble on. Well, anything I’m allowed to have.
I would have loved a spoonful of ice cream too Pat. But we don’t have that either.
It’s not as difficult to get up from chairs and toilets without using your hands as you may think Kathie. It’s remembering not to push off with your hands and arms. But if you forget the incision in your chest “reminds” you.
Who’d a thunk that a gas station could be a tourist destination Karen?
Time to try for a little more sleep. See you later. :sleepey smile:

TGIF! At least that's what the working-folk say.

My goodness K2, Nick does look a lot younger than 99.

Now you guys got me thinking about how I get up from the can. Our low toilet is right next to the bathroom sinks and vanity. So it seems that I always put one hand on the vanity to stand up. Hands free is uncoordinated for me.

Won't find out the results of yesterday's lung CT test for about a week and a half, BB. I was DElighted to have it done in the "doughnut" tube. FANTASTIC! I get panicky in those full length tubes, from claustrophobia. The doughnut scanners are only about 2 feet long and no matter which portion of your body is in the center of it, including your eyes, you can always see out both ends.

Sounds like your legs and booty need a break for a while. Any heavy duty projects you have planned can just wait. Aren't naps just a joy?

Lee; You've got my sympathies on being forced to stop using a sleep position that you've felt comfortable using for years. That alone is a good reason for not being able to sleep at night. (I'm a belly sleeper.)

Another cool day here, starting in the 30's. And to think by next Tuesday it'll be 80 degrees.

Starting off the day with Eggs Benedict we are picking up. Nope, not ready yet to eat inside a restaurant.

After that it's grocery pick-up.

For some reason our lawn guy didn't show up on Wednesday. Such a wimp being scared away by lawns covered with snow. Maybe today.

Good later than 2:00 in the morning morning!
Nice you got the CT LITE scanner Dave. If only they could figure our a way to make them a lot quieter. Eggs Benedict you say. I hope you have your own hot sauce. ;)
New event for the Bunny Olympics. The hands free squat and stand. I imagine I’d be scoring perfect 10’s. Except from the Russian judge.
Have an amazing day my friends.

Good morning...a bit on the quiet side here this morning!

Lee, you are going to have to wear "short-shorts" this summer to show off those fabulously toned legs you are going to have when this is all over...glad to hear the staples are gone...one step closer!

Pat, other than mowing Jane's grass on Tues...and getting the bottom put in Barb's sink cabinet Wed. & the trim around her kitchen window I think Yep...pretty much done with projects for those 2....luckily I have nothing to strenuous coming up...

Dave, well fancy smancy eggs benedict man...I just know there was something else off the wall from your fridge that went along with it...you just don't do basic breakfast's...:D
Nice that the CT scan was more open....as a rule I'm not claustiphobic but those tubes do freak me out a bit...

Kathie, where have you wandered off to this morning? Bread baking day??

Had a bunch of errands to run this morning myself...all on the far side of town...but I made good time and got everything done I needed to do so finger's crossed I have no where to go & nothing to do for the next 3 days....unless someone call's me for something fun of course...I always have time for fun stuff....need to get my lunch packed & get ready to head to the clubhouse in a bit for the Friday poolie lunch....last Fri the water temp was 80 degrees...with all the rain & cool weather we had this week I doubt it wil be that high today....Enjoy your Friday all!!

Good afternoon, everyone! Got a bit of running around to do this afternoon before I hit the kitchen to prep and cook a few veggies. I also need to blanch a slew of plum tomatoes from the garden. They just keep coming!

Dave - You would lobe the Sunday brunch at the Grille. They make eggs benedict each week but change up the sauce each time. It's very popular.
Isn't it amazing how after all this time of staying at home, we hesitate to go back into places, even though we're fully vaccinated? Kind of like our body is playing mind games with us. I have only ventured into a handful of places, but still have not gone into the supermarket or the big box stores. I think we all need a few sessions with a shrink to get over out hang-ups now!!

Karen - That's still quite a few things you have to do for your sisters yet. At least they're not too physically challenging, except possibly putting that piece of wood in under the sink. There go your poor knees again. Enjoy your lunch with your poolie friends. It really is a pretty day outside.

Lee - I would be in deep do-do if I couldn't use my hands to push myself up. My knees are very week and I could not stand using them. No matter what I'm getting up from, I need to push or pull with my hands or else someone else has to help by pulling me up to a standing position. Getting old sucks!!

So where's little miss Serbia this morning? Not like her to stay away.

I'm going to cut this short as it's time to head out of here for our shopping trip. This will be to the one and only store I have been to since all this started - Aldi's. We are totally out of cheeses for a cheese tray when anyone comes over and I'd rather put that out for them instead of potato chips and the like.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and I'll try to stop back later. :)

Wow, I finally manage to figure out how to get UP from the toilet seat without using my arms or counter, etc, etc. TooK ALL DAY!

Didn’t sleep worth a HOOT last night and was dragging today.
Blood pressure was reading LOW all day. Good thing I see the lovely :emoticon 0152 heart: doc on Monday to see what the heck that’s all about! Always something!

Watered some of the Lavender plants out front and a couple of other plants.
I saw a few things that took a HIT from the FROST we had. :(

Never did get to the bread making Project.

Karen: So did you actually get into the water? Nice that your Poolies get together for lunch!

My Nephew was released from the hospital after being in there and rehab for over 8 weeks. All for throat surgery that was suppose to be a overnight stay. Got to hear his voice today and that made my day. He’s a good young adult!! He called ME back! He had a growth bigger than a golf ball growing and blocking his breathing.

Lee: You should be able to get outside, if you BUNDLE UP, in a few days. Going up to 75-79 next week. Of course, RAIN ON Wed & Thurs comes with the high temps! Hope every day you are getting stronger. Keep flexing those legs while you‘re sitting.
Good thing you have a lounger chair to sleep in. Art slept in ours for awhile too.

You all have a good Saturday. I’ll be doing some dusting and mopping of floors and running the vacuum. Art will be biking if it DOES NOT RAIN!

Karen, thanks for message earlier! :emoticon 0115 inlove:
