Good morning. Spent the day yesterday in Jupiter. Jennifer, her cousin Becky and two very good friends are at the timeshare. Today one has to go home as she is a teacher and with this being the last week of school she could only take one day off, the other three will go home on Wednesday. Bruce's brother and his wife came down for the day too. We had nice time.

Just called the Dr for my hands a one finger is really hurting so need a shot in it. Got an appt for Wed afternoon.

All have a great day.

If it were me,Lee, the answer would be "not", but I suspect that you ended up choosing to do the windows.
Brain stimulation sounds interesting. Guess we could all use a bit of that from time to time.
Guess there is some sort of barrier hindering that warmth you are enjoying Dave. Bright and sunny here but I would describe our temperature right now as downright chilly. Probably close to a normal temperature for this time of the year but after the terrifically warm weather we have experienced recently, it feels chilly and I will be wearing a light jacket when I head out to my PT session later this morning.
I was impressed by how they handled the finale of NCIS Los Angeles last night and brought back some of the original cast members and revealed some personal information about some of the actors. Wonder how many of us ever knew LL Cool J's actual first name, or that Deek's brother was his stunt double and
also Kensi's real life husband. It was a cute idea to cast Chris O'Donnell's son as the "new guy". All in all it was an entertaining and interesting hour.

Victoria Day Monday here in Canada. That makes it one of those "sort of holidays". Around here most things are still open.
Like most medical procedures DBS, while usually successful, can have its moments. If the electrodes are off just a hair it can have a very negative impact. And it is, after all, brain surgery.
I'm sorry that we missed the NCIS LA "wrap party" Bill. I noticed it was on AFTER it was about half ways done. Like most stuff, I'm sure that it's available online. Yes, we are set to have a nice weather week as well. Let's hope that doesn't change. For any of us.
Hope that the shot will ease the finger pain Nancy.
Just as well the delivery of the ice box was delayed Dave. That gave you a chance to look at the footprint and realize that it just wasn't quite right. I have something that sticks out too far too. Oh people, I meant my tummy! Where were your minds going?
I did finish the windows. This morning. After walking Ava, having breakfast, taking Lu-Ann and Ava to the Navy yard, stopping for beer (it's our turn to host games day) and just now finishing a coffee. We'll have an earlier lunch and then finish up tidying the kitchen.
Speaking of which, I'm being summoned to move / hold something so I best be on my way. All of you have a wonderful Monday and we'll see you later.

Good late morning, everyone! It's really beautiful outside right now, but that's not going to last. We're due for possible severe t-storms this afternoon into the evening. Only good thing about that is that it will cook the temperature down into the 70s earlier than normal. Bad part about the rains is that it will turn the air into a huge sauna. I guess we can't have everything. Oh well!!

Dave - Good thing you caught that the fridge would have stuck out too far. That seems to be a problem with a lot of the new ones. It happened to M&J in the place they were renting before building the house. They had this fantastic refrigerator that was to die for, but it didn't fit in the spot it was to go in. It ended up sitting practically in the middle of the room!

Bill - We haven't watched that last hour of NCIS yet. That will be seen later today. God forbid, Bert should miss Blacklist. I did like the way they ended the regular NCIS, but kind of left the door open, if the powers that be ever decide to bring it back.

Lee - Now that you have the windows done, you could come and do ours. Bert thinks I'm nuts when I keep mentioning that the windows need to be done especially on the outside. I swear Bert has NEVER washed windows in his life. I was always the one to do them. Just like I was the one to wash the car. Not being able to do that any longer, guess whose car has not been cleaned in months? Mind you, we now have a 7-11 car wash right outside our community now, so I just don't understand why he won't run the car through. Makes no sense to me at all.

Speaking of Bert, he's still hobbling around using the walker. He said he overdid it yesterday, so today he doesn't want to do anything. This should be good!!

If I want to get this posted before noon, I better wrap this up for now. Almost time for my last turkey sandwich from the bird. It's just about gone.

Have a wonderful day, gang!

Now that you have the windows done, you could come and do ours.
I'm now booking into January / February of 2024 Pat.
We were going to sit out today but the young fella behind has had trades people there again this morning. They have hammer drills to install his glass patio / balcony partitions. They're kicking up quite the dust storm. I guess we'll just have to be indoors 'cause I don't like dust in my wine.
OK, break time is over. Back to tidying.
Be good gang.

Wow.... lots of excellent chatter on here.
I've been washing the bedding and comforter and even put some sheets outside to dry in the fresh air. Yes, I over-did it and need to cool it for awhile.
Have to stay close to the "bathroom" .... seems those antibiotics I was told to take are kicking in if you get my "drift"! Way too much information. Ha Ha.

Pat: Just my thoughts on BERT.....He NEEDS to STOP going to stores with family or anybody. He should be resting and giving those muscles or whatever it pulled a chance to heal. Let Wesley do the running around or Jimmy or anybody but BERT. He's your right hand man in always helping you and needs to HEAL to be there for you. Okay, OFF OF MY SOAP-BOX. All said with loving good intentions. No harm meant at all. :emoticon 0152 heart:

DAVE: Good thing your Kathi measured up the area with cardboard. I do that all the time to see just how something will fit. You need a counter depth refrig! When when were doing our kitchen remodel we had the contractor BUILD OUT the wall on both sides and ceiling area so that the refrig that we had wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. It all worked out great. Since we already had a relativity new refrig there was no way we were scraping it.
Hope you get your car back today and it doesn't cost a arm and a leg.

Karen: Good for you having a nice church event. And bringing the right item to serve! Sounds like you found yourself a nice place to go on Sundays. :emoticon 0100 smile:

Nancy: Hope your hands feel better soon. Nothing worse than a ache when you need to use your hands all the time.

LEE: Lordy man.......you made me tired just reading what you did this morning. Slow it down boy.
I have talked with our friend Donna R about "Deep Brain Stimulation" and that's quite a process. It's quite involved. All the best to Lu-Ann in researching this.

Negc: Not sure if you're into Golf, but they sure had quite a rainy day on Sat at the PGA Open. Then on Sunday that HOLE IN ONE was amazing to watch. Once in a lifetime for most golfers.

Jill and Ashley stopped by last night to see us and dropped off a LOT of dug up Lilly of the Valley plants. Art is out back planting some around the Apple Tree. The rest are going to go along side of the our garage area where I usually put
Inpatient's. With the cost of Annuals at a unbelievable high around our area I think planting some perennials is a cost saver and will save my knees and back ! Ha Ha. Yup, I'm getting more thrifty in my old age.

I'm off to lay down and rest. Hard to do, but necessary. I think it will be on the deck chaise so I can at least enjoy the fresh air. Thank goodness the neighbors aren't cutting their grass today.
At times it's like living in a cemetery around here. VERY QUIET. And then there are times that it's more like a normal neighborhood! At least our next door neighbor IS NOT SANDING his DECK this year. Whew. 5 years of listening to him work on that darn deck was unreal!

Good morning, just wanted to pop in & say hello. Not much going on here in gloomy Belleview, we've finally been getting some much needed rain the last few nights! Along with some major thunder & lightning which poor little Ginger does not like at all!
Community potluck tonight, but if it's raining I may just stay home & eat my baked spaghetti all by myself,Lol

Have a good day all!

While I occasionally do watch golf matches on TV and was part of Arnie's Army at the Master's in Augusta, Georgia in the early 60's, it only took a couple of times on a golf course to convince me that golf is not in my comfort zone, K2.
Thanks for reminding me about Blacklist, Pat. I believe it was being recorded while I watched the wrap up of NCIS LA, so I will watch it later on today. All my favorite shows seem to be wrapping up their seasons this week so the VCR may be getting a workout since there may be a few schedule conflicts.
Our HOA has contracted with a different
company to pick up our trash and recycle materials starting next month, so this week I have to call the company we currently use to cancel their services. Since the company we now use is raising their price, we will actually be seeing a small savings with this new vendor.
ate we are going to spend a night at one of the Connecticut casinos and then go to visit our friends, Rich and Dianne at their campsite on Cape Cod.

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.
Sunny, 63F right now and climbing. Really nice outside!
Got my online bills paid and balanced the checkbook! Always a good feeling to get that chore out of the way.
NEGC: Sounds like a fun day on tap for you and Rita. Hope you win big.
Karen: Hope you can still get to the Pot Luck Dinner tonight. Feeling bad for Ginger and the thunder. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
Dave: I give you all the credit in the world for having to get up at 5:00 a.m for a PEE RUN for FuzzButt. What about the other pooch? Do you still have 2 pups? Sometimes I feel bad asking these dumb questions, but I still do! :emoticon 0140 rofl:
Lee: How's that OGC project coming along?
PAT: Hope that you and Bert are doing well today. Make sure that Bert stays put and rests his body. And if he's not getting better soon have somebody take him to the doctors.

Reminds me I need to call for an appointment for Art. He missed his physical last year for some dumb reason. He needs to find a doctor for his shoulder. It's been giving him a JAB and needs to get X-Ray'd or MRI'd to see what's going on. He fell years ago and it's finally decided to give him JAB when he raises his arm over his head on an angle.
ALWAYS SOMETHING

I have nothing else for you good people. Be good and enjoy the day.

Good morning, everyone! Had a lousy night's sleep. I've been awake since before 4! Needless to say, my energy level is about -9. It's going to be one of those days.

Lee - I'm with you. I hate to get dust in my wine too! I'm booking you in for that window cleaning job too!!

Kathie - If it will make you feel better, Bert hasn't gone anywhere since before the weekend, except to go out and get the mail. He's been taking it easy and putting ice on his boo boo. It feels better when he takes the Tylenol, but that wears off after a few hours.
Lucky you to get those Lilly of the Valley plants. They are one of my favorites. Back in NJ I had a corner of the yard filled with them and always picked a big bouquet of them for my birthday. Unfortunately, they don't grow here in Florida. We don't get enough freezes.

Dave - Your post this morning sort of matches how I feel. I'm ready to go back to bed, if I thought I'd fall asleep. But I wouldn't.

Karen - I hope the rains hold off an you'll be able to go to the potluck. You seem to have a lot of them up your way. It's been years since our community had one. I guess it's because it has grown so much over the years. Closest we come to a potluck is if there is a party at someone's house and you bring a dish.
I know we need the rain, but they can keep the thunder & lightening part. We're expecting a good dose of that again today.

Bill - Have a good time on your little mini vacation. I hope you win a bundle at the casino. Say hello to Rich & Dianne for us. It's been years since the last time we saw them. We finally got to watch the NCIS wrap program. You could see how emotional the cast members got talking about the show. Heck, I was ready to cry a couple of times too! Sure gonna miss that show.

Nothing much going on around here today. I might need Wesley to make a run to Publix for a few things, including a bottle of the wine I drink. Until Bert can get to Sam's for a case, I'm going to need Wesley to be my go to guy.

We get to eat the last of the turkey for lunch today and then it too will be gone. Got leftovers for tonight, so I don't even have to cook anything. That means I can sit and read the book I got from the library. The name of it is Swamp Story written by Dave Barry, He write in a style similar to Carl Hiaasen. As you can tell from the title, the story takes place in Flori-dah. What could go wrong with that?

Up early, as usual, and took Ava for a walk. We saw an absolutely picture perfect Red Fox trotting down the road towards the golf course. What a great way to start the day.
So, what's the one tv thing we can find but can’t rewatch…the NCIS LA wrap. Seems we’re, once again, on the wrong side of the imaginary line in the river.

I have days like that too Dave. It seems that I’m too stupid to just go back to bed.
It must be a gardening day Kathie. We went out to one of the local nurseries and picked up a pot to compliment the other pots on the front porch. It’s been non stop chatter with them all telling each other how nice they look. Compliment after compliment. When we came home I cut the front and as much of the back as I could before the batteries ran out. The ones in the lawn mower… I’ll finish the back when they recharge.
Dave Barry and Carl Hiaasen are both very good writers Pat. Well, in my opinion. I like lighter books if I’m not reading my technical books and articles pertaining to motor sports. Yep, farm out the chores to “the youngins’“ so Bert has a chance to feel better. Like that, knowing Bert, will EVER happen.
That would be “real“ motor sports Nancy. Not about those cars with fenders… ;)
Our municipal taxes take care of garbage and recycling here Bill. In Ayr we had recycling every week and garbage alternated with yard waste. Here they pick up garbage every week, recycling every two weeks and yard wast every other Friday. We have to separate “paper” and “glass, bottles and plastics” in the two bins.
I do hope that it stops raining for you pot luck Karen. Unless of course you would just as soon stay home with the “Kittie Kids” and a plate of pasta.
Life has gotten in the way of the shed. Doug and Brenda had weekend guests, yesterday was games day and today Peachy is at the vet for a dental. We hope to get back at it by Thursday at the latest.
Break time is over. I best get down to the bike or treadmill.
Everyone have a fantastic afternoon and we’ll see you in the morning.

Pat: Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight. I've had to sleep sitting up for a week. Not easy. 3 Pillows and a small one behind my neck. Tonight I can sleep any which way I want. :emoticon 0140 rofl::clap002:
I'm going to get on a program to get to bed earlier! I'll let you know when and if that ever happens.
Later gang. Off to the deck.

Potluck or baked spaghetti last night, KC?

Speaking of food, we watched a recording of "Foods that built America" yesterday about peanut butter. How it was developed and companies competing for the market. Ever since then I've been craving a peanut butter sandwich. Jiff, on toast, crunchy, with little slices of dill pickles on it. Kathi often has a PB&J sandwich for breakfast.

Hope Lady-Luck was with you at the casino, Bill.

We've got 2 dogs, K2. Jack, the weaner dog, and Fuzzbutt the all white American Eskimo. Jack sleeps in with Kathi while Fuzzbutt and me empty our bladders.

BB; Good to hear that Bert is behaving himself as his body heals.

That would be SOO cool to see a Red Fox trotting down the road, Lee. Any reaction from Eva?

LIKE REALLY WINDY. A lot of "Helicopter Seeds" are flying off the Maple tree in back.
Neighbor 3 doors around the bend is getting his HUGE PINE TREE cut down. Bummer for the tree. Looked good to me.

I'm going to put some annuals in the porch containers. Need to go and buy 2 SPIKE plants from the nursery down the road from us to put in the middle. Easy job.

DAVE: I was right with you on that Peanut Butter on toast until you added the PICKLE. I swear you landed on Earth from another planet with some of your choices for foods! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:
Peanut Butter on a toasted bagel is good too.

Out of here for now. Have a fun and safe day. :clap002:

A late good morning. Bruce is at the dentist getting his new crown and then going to at least one job. I will be at the Dr early this afternoon getting a couple of shots in two fingers. On the way home I will stop at Publix and get some thing so I can get things needed to make Antipasto salad for dinner.

On Sunday in Jupiter, one of Jennifer's girl friends made a Caprese salad and used a Balsamic Dressing for it so I will look for that for the Antipasto salad.

It is looking like rain.

All have a great day.

Good morning! A pretty, but deceiving morning around here. Sunny now, but storms are a coming.

Dave - I like peanut butter & strawberry jelly on toast. Thought I'd let you know that as long as we're discussing peanut butter. Peanut butter and dill pickles is just plain weird!! I want to know how you ever came up with that combination.

Karen - So did last night's rains keep you home from the potluck? It poured here last night for hours with lots of T&L to make things interesting. Our lights fluttered a couple of times, but we never actually lost power.

Kathie - We are still getting windy weather here, especially before a storm moves in. The other day we were watching the leaves on the mango tree next door blowing down with each gust of wind. Surprisingly, the mangos are still holding on. As soon as they start to ripen, the squirrels and raccoons will be feasting on them.

Nothing planned for today. Might spend a bit of time straightening up and bake a cake. Friends are coming over tomorrow afternoon for a visit.

Now I need coffee!

Didn't watch the Celtics game last night because I couldn't bear to see them eliminated in a sweep in four games, so, naturally they won and avoided elimination at least for another game. There's a bit of hope that they can emulate the Red Sox who "Cowboy'd up" a few years back and came back from and 0 and 3 deficit to win the World Series with 4 straight wins. Chances are slim or none, but at least Slim hasn't left town yet.
Our trash/recycle schedule is like yours Lee, one week for both and the next just for trash, but it is a charge that is separate from our property tax even when the town contracts with a waste disposal company. We have been using the town's company since we moved here but the HOA has found a company that will do the job for a bit less so we decided to switch.
Trip to Mohegan Sun isn't until the end of the week but appreciate everyone's best wishes.bb
Pickles would never find their way into my diet, and although Rita is a fan, I doubt that even she would favor a pickle/peanut butter combo, Dave.
Right now it is bright and sunny but I have seen a forecast that is predicting thunderstorms for late afternoon.

Cribbage last night ended up with us, once again, on the short end of a 6 to 5 score. It would have been worse but in the last game we managed to skunk our opponents. Good thing that another dozen weeks remain so we may still improve our place in the standings.

Great. Now I want peanut butter too Dave.
I used to love a slice of bread with peanut butter. And a pineapple ring. And a slice of cheddar. Done under the broiler.

I just saw that Tina Turner has passed at 83. I was never a big fan but appreciated her talent.
I’d be rubbin’ a couple of quarters together for luck Bill. Both before the next game and your trip to the casino.
It‘s been a dandy day here to Kathie. Right around 70F with bright sun and no humidity. You make sure that wind doesn’t blow stuff in your eyes!
I think you and Bert should grab the mangoes and have Wesley make a nice salsa with them Pat. Save them from those pesky raccoons!
Pot luck or feet up with the kitties Karen?
Lu-Ann is off to the dentist to get her crown on this evening to Nancy. I guess we’re married to “royalty”.
Having said that I best get my self all tidied up.
Be good and stay safe my friends.
