Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

OK, so we were under way in a nasty rain storm about “new“ 8:00 eastern. The Subie with her AWD did a great job in the rain and standing water.
Because of the times in parts of some of the states we passed through our clocks kept switching from eastern to central time and eventually back. Just silly on top of “springing ahead”.
Once the rain stopped I found it a nice drive skirting Chattanooga, Nashville and into Louisville.
Hey, there’s a song for that…
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0ZpytVUElU

I think it was a nicer drive than I75 from Atlanta to Lexington. We have never, bar heading home when the pandemic hit, stayed in such a “quiet” Drury property. Tonight’s menu was spring salad, baked potatoes, penne pasta Alfredo, grilled chicken strips and fresh veg (steamed). Kentucky state laws forbid “free“ adult beverages so they charge $1 for a good pour of wine. We’ll have breakfast on property before we head out in the morning.
Fuel along the way ranged between $3.09 and $3.29 per gallon.
It’s still light out and 41F. 48 hours ago where we were it was dark and 72F. I reckon you all know my choice.
Yes Kathie, if only it was that easy. But being Spring Break things get extra busy which is why we go and return a week earlier.
Right you are Dave. Watching aircraft never gets old! I couple that with my flight tracker app and I can see which airline, aircraft and where they are going to or coming from.

Guess it's not "woke" enough for dumbsantis
Yes it is Karen. You woke up early for church.
That wine is kicking in so I may call it a night. Until Ava goes out about 9:30.

Snow in the forecast for home tomorrow. Simply put, even though it’s less than an inch, that sucks.

First up; HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, K2!

My goodness Lee, that picture you posted makes it look like you have totally white hair. Just a few more hours and you'll be home sweet home. A bit more chilly than where you've been, but in your own bed. (As the furnace churns away.

I'll never know what those mini lemon donuts tasted like, KC. I'm still a member of Flip Wilson's "Church of What's Happening Now".

Say AMEN, for the donation the casino gave Bill.

K2; It seems that the republican party lately isn't happy unless they can get people afraid or angry about something.

I too want to thank you for explaining "music BINGO", BB. Can't say I ever heard of it.

Following the time change it's no surprise that today is National Napping Day.

Make it a good week, Bunnies.

Good Morning Wrabbits. As I stated above.....Enough Already with the SNOW!
Hope it clears up before Lee & Lu-Ann get closer to home. Not a very nice WELCOME HOME for them.

Thanks again everyone for the Birthday Wishes. It was a GRAND DAY for sure. Church and then dinner out with the family and then celebrating at Manny's house was great. Getting old wasn't all that bad this year.

Lee: That dinner at the motel was really quite impressive. Thanks for raising the glass to me!

That was absolutely a good pour of wine. Do all Durry Inn's have that dinner and wine feature?
Hope the roads are easy going for your last miles home. Take care.

DAVE: So did Kathi just EAT ALL the Mini Lemon Donuts or is it that you just don't like that flavor?

I have tons of paperwork to do today, so I'll keep this short for now and hope to get back on here later.

Enjoy your Monday Wrabbits!

Good morning. No plans for me today except to be drinking the 14 cups of whatever to clean me out for tomorrow. I don't know of anyone who drinks 14 cups of anything in a day, plus normal drinking of juice, coffee, tea or water.

All have a great day.

I agree with you, Nancy, about not knowing anyone who drinks 14 cups of anything in a day, except, perhaps, a few idiots who buy the drink package on a cruise and are determined to get their money's worth.
While we watched a bit of the lead up to the Oscar's yesterday afternoon, we didn't watch a minute of the actual Awards ceremony. I did watch The Blacklist last night and, based on last night's show, it may have recaptured its old magic. Time will tell but perhaps the series will end up going out on a high note.
Not sure why, but I had trouble sleeping last night so today may be Napping Day here, Dave. I was up so many times last night it was as if I had drunk 14 cups of something yesterday.
We have never stayed at a Drury property, Lee, but from your recent comments and previous remarks it is on our "to do" list if we are ever looking for lodging and one of their properties is available. Ordinarily we are predisposed to stay at Marriott properties but always open to new opportunities.
Very overcast today. Haven't seen a weather forecast but a bit of rain wouldn't surprise me.
I'm not big on college basketball but a friend is again sponsoring a March Madness bracket that I somehow won last year, so I have entered it again this year and will try again to prove that even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut.

Good afternoon! Woke up at 6:30 to torrential rain and T&L. What a racket. By 9 the sun was out, so we headed for an early trip to Sam's & Publix. Kind of danced in between the raindrops. It's still continuing now - first rain and then the sun. We should be getting more t-storms later this afternoon & into the evening.

Did not see anything from the Academy Awards. DISH Network is still feuding with our ABC affiliate. We haven't had ABC for about 6 months now. The funny part is that we don't even miss it! Most of the show we watch are on NBC & CBS.

Lee - That was one very generous pour of wine yesterday. We too will have to look for Drury properties, if we ever get to do any traveling again.

Bill - I agree. Blacklist was pretty good last night. So was The Equalizer and East New York. Got a couple of other shows recorded that we haven't had a chance to watch yet.

Kathie - So what's all this paperwork you have to do today that is keeping you away from visiting with us. Glad you had a good time at your birthday dinner and afterwards with Manny. I hope you don't get too much snow this go round.

Dave - I had actually forgotten about the "Church of what's Happening Now" We loved all Flip Wilson's characters. He grew up not too far away from my in Jersey City. I didn't know him, but a few of my friends did and said that he always was funny.

Tonight's going to be salmon with fettuccine alfredo with a California mix of veggies for dinner. I'm getting hungry already!

Uh oh! I hear lots of thunder approaching and lightening is already flasking. Time to get off the computer until after this passes. I hope it doesn't last too long, but just in case, I will say bye for now. Have a good afternoon, gang!

BB: I had to go to the credit union that I have FOUND money at and get a ATM card made so I can use the ATM machine. My old ATM card was expired in 1997. Even the teller had a good laugh over that.
And remember that other ATM card that I thought was lost inside the drive up station a month or so ago. Well, it wasn’t lost in the machine! I was wiping the area by the dashboard and steering wheel and there it was tucked in the that space. I laughed and cut it up.
I have a sewing project to get done on a pair of Ashleys slacks. She’s so skinny that the waistband is too loose. She is going to Chicago with some friends to celebrate St Patty’s Day And bought a pair of GREEN SLACKS! She’ll most likely never wear them again. Ha ha.

I paid some bills online. And went through some loose sticky notes that had useless info on them. ALWAYS SOMETHING!
I just got through making another batch of dough to make 6-7 more nutrolls. They did PRE ORDERS at church on Sunday and sold all 25 rolls that I already made.
My friend that also makes nit rolls for the choir to sell can only make so many because she dislocated her shoulder about 3 months ago and can only roll so many. I’m feeling sorry for her so I’m trying my best to help her out. At this point I HATE NUT ROLLS more than EVER!
Lee: By now you should be pulling up into your driveway. The snow is still coming down, but it’s like a MIST. MELTING as soon as it hits the wet ground.
Hope your last leg of the drive home was a good one.
I didn’t watch the Oscars. I saw some of the people on the morning news. The lady with the HUGE WHITE COLLAR that blocked 6 people from seeing the stage was a real joke.
Heard a few comments that Jimmy K made that were funny. I’m going to wait and see what he has to say on his show tonight.

Okay, back to the kitchen. I have dough to measure out and start rolling.
Thank goodness for Tylenol and my TENS machine to help me get through this job.
Be giod little Wrabbits!

As a matter of fact Kathie, we are not only home but we are unpacked!
Tired? Ya, I think so. Tired of driving, hotels and snow. And the snow part is only after a few hours.
So Bunnies...what do you think of this...we get to the sign on I75 that says welcome to "Pure Michigan". We search the side of the road for the nice lady who makes all kinds of baked stuff for the church. Surely she must be here waiting to welcome us to MI. Nope. We stop at the welcome centre, which is still labelled "Covid Test and Welcome Centre". I go in and ask if anybody has seen Kathie. She'll be the lady with the fresh baking. "Nope". :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
But, here's a tune from Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. all of us who travel can likely identify with.

Subie goes for service at 8:00 tomorrow morning. What was I thinking?

Lee, glad your travels went well & you are back home safe & sound! Your dinner at Drury looked very good last night, I've also never stayed at one but my sister's & I have talked about it the next
time we take a road trip.

Kathie, you are a kind lady to put so much effort into all those nut rolls for your church!!
And yes, I have been looking out for interesting churches to visit when I am out about. I've even looked on Facebook for ideas.

Dave, I may have to see if there is a local diocese of Flips church in my area.:) And did you properly celebrate Nap day with a beloved afternoon nap?

Pat, we had rain here some time during the night & then again around mid-morning. They were calling for thunderstorms this evening but so far it looks pretty clear here. Your dinner tonite sounds delish!

Bill, nice that the indians were good to you for a change a rare occurrence I'm sure.

Finally got out & got the dead wood cut off my hibiscus bush & some trimmed off the bougainvillea. Tomorrow is whacking day again on Jane's crepe
myrtle and if I get finished early enough I really need to get some groceries.
Finally sold my storage rack this afternoon, when I was handing it over to the lady in the parking lot she decided to ask me if I'd take $15 instead of $20, I told her No, sorry, I had just listed it the other day & wasn't ready to take less. Luckily she said ok & gave me the $20, but that's a question you should ask BEFORE you meet up with someone!
Been busy doing some major spring cleaning, my girlfriend & her husband are coming over Monday for my birthday & then spending the night, this will be the first time she's seen my new place so I want it to look all shiney & spiffy! Not that she'd care, we've been friends for over 40 years & have seen the best & worst of each other, I'm just really happy she is coming to visit!
Now I think it's time to go take a shower, get comfy & relax!

Lee: I PROMISE NEXT YEAR if we're not down in Florida or "someplace warm" we'll make a get together on the road. Just maybe a little closer to downtown Detroit by the tunnel !
Just think one day you'll be able to go over the Gordie Howe bridge to get home! Now won't that be neat.

And YES.... just WHAT WERE YOU THINKING to make that oil change so early. Yikes, it's not like the Subie will know the difference from 8:00 a.m. or 11:00 am on Wednesday! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Question for you, Lee; How often do you get a commission check from Drury? Remind yourself before you head out for the servicing of your Subaru about where you are now. NO shorts with Crocs.

I'm not much of a sweets eater K2, except for ice cream. So whenever Kathi makes or buys some cookies or cakes she knows that I probably won't eat any. So she's free to gobble them all up. I also hardly ever get desserts.

So did you get a nap in yesterday, Bill? I did, OF COURSE.

BB; Can you imagine living in California with all their rains, flooding, and mudslides? With the ground saturated, most of it is running off into the ocean instead of going into their lakes and reservoirs.

That's so cool KC that you are meeting up with an old girlfriend you've had for 40 years. No need to act extra special since, like you said, you've already seen the best and worst of each other over all those years.

Nothing much planned for today. Hope to get on the stationary bike for 30 minutes. My plan is to hit the leg muscles from a slightly different angle by pedaling backwards. Heck, if I'm not going anywhere on that bike, I might as well do it in reverse.

Just in case one of you Wrabbits isn't keeping up with the days!

23degrees and gloomy outside. March is about as mixed up as our entire Winter was!

Dave: Good for you going backward on the stationary bike. I wish I didn't like desserts. Man I'd be a light-weight for sure!

Lee: So tell me you DIDN'T go to the Park with Ava this morning. If you did, I hope she bites you in the rear for taking her out in this cold. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:
On the other hand we have our Manny pup that goes outside and LAYS DOWN in the snow. The dog belongs in Alaska. Loves the cold and snow. They'll have to crop it's coat come Summer. And I see a Kiddie Pool in their yard for sure.

I watch Jimmy Kimbel last night and his RECAP of the Oscars brought me right up to date. He does such a nice job of hosting that show.

On a sad note we lost one of our dear assistant priests yesterday. He has been sick the past month or so and failing, but we didn't think he was that ill. He was SAINT MATERIAL. Kind, generous, wise and giving. He will be missed. That's 2 people that passed from our church this week. SO SAD.

I can't believe that Art actually went out biking this morning in this horrible cold. He has the right equipment to stay warm, but it's just nuts if you ask me.

Negc: Nice to read that you're into the MARCH MADNESS Basketball pool. Nothing better than College basketball. They play their hearts out for their universities.

BB, Karen, Nancy: Hope the rains have passed and you Belles have a DRY DAY.

Karen: Don't over-do it with the trimming. One stretch too far and your BACK will let you know you shouldn't have done it.

I'm out of here for now. The KITCHEN calls me.

Good morning and HAPPY PI DAY! That was for all the nerds around here!! LOL

Definitely not my type of day here in Florida. We've lost our warm weather. I think Lee pulled the plug as he was leaving! It's in the high 50s right now, but should get back up to the mid 70s this afternoon before dropping into the high 40s tonight. All I know is that the heat will once again be getting turned on instead of the AC. Bummer!!

I'm with Kathie - I love desserts. Back in the day in Ocala I used to go out for lunch with a former friend and we would see these 2 gals at the restaurant each week. They would order dessert FIRST and after eating that, if they were still hungry, they would order something like a hamburger. Used to get a kick out of that, but actually, I thought their way was the best, as I never had room left for dessert.

Dave - Good for you getting on the stationary bike and pedaling backwards. That definitely is something different and might be good for you.

Lee - So tell me - How did it feel to be sleeping in your own bed once again? Great, I bet. Hopefully by the time I am writing this, the Subie will be all finished and you're home or at least on your way.
We thought about going to Harry's (in Lakeland) for lunch today, but decided to wait until next week.

Karen - Have fun visiting with your old friend. I'm sure you'll have a zillion things to talk about. Not many people get to experience such a lengthy friendship

Kathie - So how are those nut rolls coming? Have fun in the kitchen today. I can guarantee that around here there is a 100% chance that we will NOT be watching any of the NCAA basketball games. Just not into basketball. Same goes for baseball, golf and tennis.

Nancy - Good luck today.

Not much planned for today around here. We have leftovers from our salmon dinner, so I don't have to cook either. I see plenty of time to either watch TV or just read. It definitely will be a relaxing day!

A late good morning. Was up at 5:45 to shower and had to nudge Bruce to get dressed so I could get to the center on time. Got there at 7 was taken back pretty quick and was over and on the way home by 9:10. Everything went well. So now Bruce is on the clear liquid diet.

It is cooler here today and overcast but I don't think we will get any rain.

Early yesterday evening it rained and we got .02 inches so did not do much of anything. Temp right now is 74 and that should be our high for the day.

All have a great day.

BB: I had a Aunt that ate her DESSERT FIRST and then her meal. As a child that always cracked me up. I asked if I could do that and was told NO! Never asked again! :emoticon 0100 smile:

I was on this Laptop computer that is hooked up to a BIG Monitor for over 1 HOUR filling out forms online for a doctors appointment I have on Friday. I was digging for past information big time to fill out these forms. I'm going to see if I can get a hard copy for myself. All kinds of good information in one place.

I'm getting a SECOND OPINION for my eye surgery. I think without even seeing this doctor I will like her better than the doctor I first saw last month. There was just something about him that I couldn't put my finger on that I wasn't comfortable with. Only talked to him for 10 mins, but you know when something is off.

This appointment on Friday comes with EXCELLENT referral from a dear church friend that works at an Eye Institute and her daughter is a lifetime friend that went to school and college with her. I looked at her credentials and they're impressive. TIME WILL TELL.

Nancy: All that prep work for such a QUICK and EASY TEST. Glad it's over for you.

BB: I'm finally off to the kitchen to start the dough for 6 more nut rolls. Ready for this:
I'M ON A ROLL! Ha Ha.

Later gang.

Those thunderstorms rolled through here about 7 pm last night and while we were watching TV at the time, the crawl at the top of the screen was showing a severe weather alert for Southwestern Florida but the station interrupted it to show a series of commercials. Guess I know where that station's priorities lie. Glad we weren't in the part of the state under that storm warning.
I did get a brief nap yesterday, Dave, and thankfully it didn't keep me from getting a good night's sleep last night. In fact I was still in bed at the time that Lee was bringing his Subie in for its oil change. I must say, though, I never feel as comfortable lying in bed as I do just when it is time to get up. So tempting to just roll over and catch a few more Z's.
I agree with you about all three of those programs, BB. One of the few nights of the week when I can plan for a full night of TV watching.
Glad you found and cut up that missing credit card, K2. Not many things more worrying that thinking that one of those cards may have fallen into someone else's hands and is being used to rack up some enormous debt.
No special plans for the rest of today or the week but will definitely enjoy the good weather since we only have a few more weeks of it left. Waiting to hear when our car will be picked up and transported back home. so that we can make our flight arrangements.

Good afternoon!

Bill, I think I get my best sleep on the mornings that I need to get up to go somewhere, seems like on the mornings I "could" sleep in I'm never able to!

Pat, I really am looking forward to Connie's visit! And the fun thing is her daughter & my niece Amanda grew up together and both of them ended up getting married & moving to Maryland! Faith lives in Baltimore, about 2-1/2 hours from Amanda so they get to stay in touch also!

Lee, so are you ready to return to the land of sunshine & warm breezes yet? I bet poor Ava is wondering what the heck is going on!

Kathie, I don't blame you for getting a 2nd opinion on the eye surgery, that is nothing to take lightly! Lucky that you had someone recommend a good one to you. I'm seriously thinking about switching my eye Dr. as well, but have no clue who I would change to.

Dave, so how was the backwards bike ride? I would worry that my feet would get tangled up & I'd end up breaking something.
Add me to the " I wish I didn't like sweets crowd"! Not overly fond of pie but cakes, cookies, donuts, ice cream & candy yeah, I like all those pretty well!

Nancy, glad the testing went well & hopefully you pass with flying colors.

Got to Jane's a little before 9 & hung out for a while before I started whacking on the tree, it was nice & cool this morning so it was easy work. Took 1 truck load to the dump & brought home 3 garbage cans of branches for my trash co. to pick up tomorrow. Was all done & headed to Walmart to get groceries before 11

Got an email from the roofing company with the final invoice, they used 14 sheets of plywood, 3 of which were included in the quote. They sent pictures of each sheet of plywood numbered & where it was located on the roof. The extra plywood came to $880 but I was impressed that so far they have done everything the salesman said they would do. She also told me they had sent the paperwork to the city of Belleview for the final inspection & once that is done they will have their roofing inspector call me to set up the appt. for the wind mitigation report. I told her I had a check ready for them & would drop it off once I was notified they had passed final inspection.
Also talked to my insurance rep today & he went ahead & sent in my application, the price went up a little bit because I don't have the wind mit. report, but once I get that they will adjust it. It's still nearly half as much as State Farm was wanting to charge me. He said the insurance company could still request some repairs after reviewing the inspection report but he doesn't think they will, so that was good to hear. I will be glad to finally get this policy approved so I can make the call to State Farm & tell them bye-bye.

Thought I best check in. I think that three days on the road kinda caught up with me. Subie service went as expected. They had to adjust the front toe in by one degree. Warranty of course.
Tomorrow our niece Tiff is coming on the train for a three day visit.
Fun, as always, reading to see what mischief you have all been up to. If I’m not around for the next few days you can all enjoy the peace and quiet. But I will check in if I get the chance.
You all be good.
