Lee: Good thing you brought up your MRI visit Wednesday!
I checked the calendar and low and behold I have MY MRA TEST on WEDNESDAY! 10:30 a.m. across town in the same neighborhood I get my hair done. Now aren’t we just a couple of CopyCat folks! Ha ha.

SAN: I have to agree with you that Barr should have stayed on until the end. News reports are that T-man wants a YES man for his last few weeks of total destruction that he will be doing. THE BEST IS YET TO COME FROM THIS PIECE OF SH!T. Lord help us.

Sun finally came out ad it’s getting ready to go down. Makes it feel so much better when it’s out. Temp now 28F. Brrrr

This is one of those days where nothing went the way it was supposed to around here! First off, Gary didn't let us know until after noontime that he wasn't going to be able to come over today to wrap some of his packages.
So we decided to go to BJ's to pick up a few things. Bert needed Diet Coke for the troops who had cleaned out the supply during recent visits. I gave him a list of 3 things I wanted him to pick up. He screwed up every one!!! I wanted stewed or diced tomatoes - he bought a case of crushed tomatoes. He had already bought 4 huge cans of crushed tomatoes a week ago (which was also NOT what I wanted at the time. I also wanted him to pick up pot stickers flavored with chicken or pork which our gang loves. He bought vegetable flavored ones. BLAH!!!! Last thing I asked him to get was a rectangular tin of imported cookies that we have been buying every year for at least 25 years. Instead he buys a big tin of those Danish cookies that are so bland. I already told him that we will give them away. He thought that while he was at BJ's he'd surprise me by getting some deli sliced cold cuts. Well, guess what - He never told them to slice them thin and so we have slices that I can't stand and don't taste the way I like them to! So now you know how my day has gone!
I finally told him that I have no choice but to start going into these stores with him again in order to get the things I wanted. I want to find out too when the vaccine is going to be available at Publix where I get the flu shot each year. Pharmacist is a real good guy and will let us know what to expect and when.

The ribs are in the oven cooking and they are starting to smell so good. It took us so long to get home from BJ's due to rush hour traffic that dinner went in later than I had planned, so we are eating with the rich people tonight!!!

I loved hearing that Mayor Pete is going to be nominated for Sect'y of Transportation. He'll do a good job there and gather important experience in the running of the government.

Checking out for tonight. Time to enjoy a glass of wine while waiting for dinner to finish up. Have a wonderful evening, everyone. Stay warm and/or dry whatever your case may be. I'll see you all in the morning. :)

Night all!

Thank you al for the prayers for Taylor. She is home, but still feeling pretty awful, can't talk and can't eat. They were very concerned about some of her blood work, but it looks like she has Epstein - Barr disease or mono (caused by Epstein Barr) It could be that all her tonsillitis was caused by the Epstein Barr virus, as that is the part of the body it usually attacks. Don't really know which came first, but she needs to rest and take it veery easy, as she has to be careful because it affects the spleen, so she has to be careful.

Bill is doing better, and he looks better. As long as he keeps hydrated he should be fine. He lost of a lot of weight, but we finally managed to get him some new clothes that fit, so he looks more like himself these days. His clothes were all too big, but he didn't feel like shopping. Now that his appetite is better I will hold on to some of the old clothes in case he needs them.

Still don't know for sure when we are leaving for Florida. I will drive with our daughter and Bill can fly and meet us a day or so after we get there. I would like to leave on Dec. 27 since it's a Sunday and I can escape the NY and DC traffic by doing that, but I think it will more likely be Tuesday or Wednesday, and we will just have to fight the traffic in those areas. A lot depends on the weather. It was 62 on Sunday and on Wednesday night we are expecting 12 or more inches of snow. Hope we don't have any after Christmas, at least until I get to florida, then it can snow in Mass as much as it wants!

Thank all of you again for all the prayers and good thoughts. It was a very scary weekend around here.

Rita good to hear that Taylor is home and at least resting. Soups and Jello and pudding can help her throat. Popsicles too.
Hope that Bill can gain some pounds. He was NEVER a heavy weight.
Who would have thought that trying to get a car and 2 people to Florida would be so involved. Hoping it all works out.
Right now you have a huge STORM HEADED UP THE COAST! Good luck with that.

Okay, saw the beginning of Jimmy Kimmel and it wasn’t anything all that great.
Gotta gwt to bed earlier than normal. Don’t want my BRAIN MRA to look too tired! Ha ha. :sleep2:
Now if you. good Wrabbits feel like “Giving what you can” please just pass it on to me! Ha ha :emoticon 0137 clapping:

You've gotten spoiled Lee with large bodies of water near you to walk by and enjoy the view. It makes me wonder what you did at your old place.......Walk through a woods following a creek? :)

I believe the "unexpected spike" of Covid infections is the cost of people doing what they shouldn't have over Thanksgiving, and while out in public. Next, almost guaranteed, spike will be shortly after Christmas. People just won't listen.

In answer to your question about what kind of mattress we bought, BB; Although it was just under $400 it was just as you said,
"the good old fashioned kind that we've all had for our entire life". Nothing fancy. I forget the brand, but it was the same comfy brand that we got for Bud when he first went to Danbury.

That's about it for me this morning. In a bit we're not going grocery shopping, Kathi did that on the computer last night, we're going grocery-picking up.

I so enjoy reading what you Bunnies are up to. No matter how short or long the posts are. Your thoughts and ideas.

Good morning.

Rita, Taylor is in my thoughts and I am hoping for a quick recovery for her. She has to be pretty miserable. Pretty scary what happened to her.

Rita, I too have lost weight and have to buy smaller clothes. I eat well, but I don’t gain any weight. The Radiologist told me that I probably won’t gain it back as it is the result of radiation treatments. He warned me of it way back.

a couple of days ago we had two earthquakes at 7 am. I haven’t felt one in a while. Kinda miss them.

trump is starting to lose his allies big time now. It won’t stop him from doing destructive things for four years, but I love the idea of him raging around the White House in a mad frenzy.

Good afternoon!
A fun trip to the “horse piddle” for my procedure. A whopping $3 to park! Man those machines are noisy. I know I’m only a junior assistant purser but I kinda felt like and able bodied seaman in my own submarine.
Kathie, it was a look at my prostate just to be sure nothing sinister is lurking back there. Chocolate pizzelles! Sure, just tease me ‘cause I can’t get there.
Well Pat, at least Bert is consistent getting wrong things! Those ribs do sound mighty tasty. Sounds like Gary needs to create a little misdirection to get Elaine and the kids one way so he can get the presents in the other.

I haven’t felt one in a while. Kinda miss them.
Spoken like a true Californian Tony. I love a nice piece of salmon. Yes, a shame that Barr was shown the door (I really don’t believe he resigned) so close to “the end”. I also fear for what the moron may do to further destroy democracy in The USA.
A sure sign everyone was enjoying their visit Karen. They didn’t want to go home.
Poor Taylor. That young lady has sure had a rough go first with her back and now this.
We used to just walk the dogs around the neighbourhood Dave. Now they, and we, enjoy being by the river. Katie still likes to venture into town to look in the shop windows after her walk in the park.
I took this photo this afternoon while we were in The King’s Navy Yard Park. I just liked the black and white of the cannon and snow against a grey sky. That cannon is how we shoot squirrels over to Kathie.

Better sign off. Beef and Roasted Red Pepper Rogout with spaghetti doesn’t make itself.
Everyone stay safe.

Ok, so from now on just call us Marcia & Carl! Would you believe we just got home? Aside from a quick lunch, we have been on the go all day. Boy does my butt hurt from all that sitting while Bert did his shopping. Absolutely amazing that today BJ's had the things I wanted yesterday that Bert insisted they didn't have. How is that possible?
Ended our day of helping the economy with a run into Orlando to pick up a Honey Baked Ham for dinner tomorrow night when the gang will be here. Bert got a 9 lb ham, so they better eat plenty or we are going to have ham from now until Easter!

Now both of us are beat and more than willing to just take it easy for the rest of the day. Funniest part of the day was that the packages still kept arriving, but Gary said these are presents for the boys from us that they did the shopping for, so I can forgive him this time.

Rita - Glad to hear that Taylor is doing better. If they haven't gotten them yet, tell her mom to get the Pedialyte kind that can be frozen like an ice pop. That will help her throat and give her the nourishment she needs now. Poor kin!
Good to hear that Bill is feeling better and is moving around more. Nice that he's gotten all those new clothes too. That alone should make him feel better.
Sounds like a good plan having you gals drive to Florida and then have Bill fly down. Too bad this storm didn't wait until after you're out of there. It will remind you why you prefer to spend winters in Florida, as opposed to being home.

Lee - Nice picture of the cannon with the snow on it. When did it snow? I've always kiddingly said that I wanted a cannon to aim across the lake for when the war starts. I didn't think I'd ever really need one, but with today's goings on with the repubs, I might have needed it!!

K2 - Chocolate Pizzelles are something I never thought to make. How much cocoa powder did you have to put in? Maybe after I make the Anise ones, I'll give chocolate ones a try.

Dave - So how did the grocery pickup go? Was this from the big or small grocery store? I did see some people getting pickup at BJ's today. I'd consider doing that at some places, but there's only 1 problem - You pay for your order with a credit card. Bert will only shop with cash and never charges any supermarket or restaurant orders, so that won't work for us. Oh well, he's got a good supply of masks and lots of hand sanitizer, sp he's on his own.

San - You've missed earthquakes? What magnitude were they? I gather just a slight rumble, but no damage, right?
Sorry you've lost that much weight, but when we don't hear from you for a while, we can yell, SAN - GET YOUR SKINNY ASS BACK ON HERE! :D

Time to turn on the lights on the Christmas tree and watch the evening news to see what lil t is ranting about tonight. Also time for an adult beverage. I'm also going to say good night from this very sleepy individual in Florida. Behave and have a good evening!:)

Lee, that comment about the squirrel cannon aimed at Macomb was funny as hell. Thanks for the laugh.

Pat, as a matter of fact, I have no padding on my ass, so I cannot sit for long periods of time. I got to try on my US Navy Pea Coat today and it fits perfectly. One night in Yokuska, Japan I had to stand shore patrol in a snow storm. That pea coat was a God Send walking the streets trying to keep other sailors out of trouble.

Both Earthquakes were around 4.0. You could definitely feel them. They lasted about 10 seconds.

Hi gang. All went well with the MRA testing. Time will tell if there is any GREY MATTER in my head or not! Ha ha....beat you to the punch line.
The who,e MRA took about 10 mins. Had ear headset on with music. Couldn’t hear the music, but it muffled the clanking sound. Those test never bother my ears.
The hospital was basically empty. Hardly a soul walking around. Of course, unless you have a purpose to be there you can’t get inside!

LEE: I love the SQUIRREL CANNON! I think if I take a bag of Squirrels up to the roof of the GM Bldg and get a heavy duty Sling Shot I can return your Canadian rodents to you. I’ll work on that in the Spring!

Dave m Good job having Kathi order your groceries online. I need to try that in the dead of Winter. I’ll go one step further and have them deliver to our front door. I think the first time you use that feature isnfree !

SAN: Being skinny isn’t all that bad. Just make sure to eat as much as you can. More smaller meals during the day is said to be a good idea.

I managed to drive over to 98 yr old Nicks Assisted Living residence and dropped off his baked goods good bag on then” INCOMING BENCH”. That’s as far as you get at that place. He called later and was so happy to get the baked goods.
Also, stopped by the Infectious Disease Doctor's house and with my mask on rang the door bell and his lovely cute wife took the Nut Roll from me. He called me later tonight and was equally as thrilled to get something home-baked. He said he remembers his Mom baking them. He asked about my MRA scan and how I was doing. Also, said to make sure both Art and I get the Covid Vaccine as soon as it’s offered to our age group. He said they got a delivery of some Vaccine today at the same hospital I had the test done
at. It was so nice that he called and asked about how I am doing. Nice to have him in our church family even though he doesn’t come around more than 2 times a year! Easter and Christmas.

Okay out of here. Be safe folks.

Good morning you good looking bunch of Wabbits!

There's about 4-5 inches of snow on the ground here. A bit of a nuisance, but boy oh boy does it make people's outdoor Christmas lights extra pretty.

You may have lost a lot of weight San, but look at it this way; You could probably get back into your Navy dress uniform, and it would fit.
1f44d-1f3fc.png

Cool picture, Lee. Nice way to deliver squirrels. Are they each given a small parachute?

Just a thought, BB; You guys could crank up a lot of bonus points on a credit card if you and Bert used in on about everything. Then when it shows up on your account just shift the loot from your checking account to pay it off right away. We do that all the time. Even using it at Arby's.

You've turned into Betty Crocker, K2. The only difference is that you deliver.

Hi to the rest of you Bunnies.

Did you ever look up something to make a simple decision, and end up reading 45 minutes of way too many details? We're about due for a new furnace filter, and all I wanted to know is, Is a Hepa filter or a Merv 13 filter better?

After reading & reading & reading too many reviews and statistics my brain was turning into gravy. They are both good but I wanted just to know which is best. Finally I came across a review by the CDC written just a month or 2 ago. It never did say which is best but it ever so slightly leaned toward the Merv 13.

DONE! Research finished. And Kathi ordered two Merv 13's.

So much for a simple decision.

Good morning to all my favorite people, online that is!

Not going to stay here too long and it's not because we are off and running anywhere for a change. I have got to write out a few Christmas cards. That won't take all that long. Gary will be here in about an hour to start his wrapping marathon. I'm sure that will also mean feeding him lunch. Good thing we have those cold cuts Bert bought the other day.

I think I'll make some pizzelles this afternoon. It's chilly here 61 with a feels like temp in the 50s. Big difference from just 2 days ago when it was 83. Now it's going to be time to turn off the AC and plan on putting the heat on tonight when it will be around 44 here in our area. Brrr is all this Floridian can say!

Dave - We rarely use the credit cards for anything other than charging cruises or I use a card for anything I buy or have to pay for online. That's it! Not worried about the points any longer. We do have about 5 cards that Bert breaks out twice a year to charge a few small purchases on, so that the cards won't get canceled. He got caught with that happening with a card that had a 30K+ credit line. When he never used it, they notified him that the card was canceled. Now he makes sure that doesn't happen again.

K2 - Between you and Lee flinging squirrels across the Detroit River they're going to have to post a sign warning people they are entering a squirrel flight line!!! LOL

OK let me get to work now. I'll be back later when I need a break. In the meantime, behave everyone and stay safe! :)

Good Mid-Morning. What would we do without our COFFEE in the morning? Seems since this Pandemic has been going on we BREW a lot more coffee around here. I ordered that 5# bag from up north "Charlevoix Coffee Brewing Co, now that I never bought that much at one time. l did use the FoodSaver machine and made 1# bags out of it so it would still be fresh as we used it. Not a chance of that happening these days.

KC: How's the Christmas Tree fairing over your way with the Kitty's. Have you bought all of them their treats to open on Christmas Day? I bet PET SHOPs sell more little toys for pets this month than any other. We had one Pet shop close down in the little strip mall up on the corner of 23 Mile Rd. Just can't compete with those HUGE PET places.

SAN: I wonder if Art could fit into his Pea-jacket these days? He has his hanging in the cedar closet downstairs. It's like the Holy Grail. I wanted to throw it out one year and he about had a fit! NO WAY!! He still has his Sea-bag full of STUFF in the corner of the same closet.

Art has been reading a 1.5" thick "HANDWRITTEN" life history of his Mom. He has spent hours reading and writing things down. Inside of the manuscript there were even pictures from when she was a teenager and she had a horse. Also, a picture of his Sister, Cora, that passed away tragically when she was about 18 months old. His Mom had such lovely handwriting. It's a treasure that he wants to make sure that Jill will read and keep. We should all do something like this for our children.
I know that 98 yr old Nick writes in a journal EVERY DAY. He has boxes and boxes in his rather large closet in his senior residence. I've bought him new journals so he never runs out of writing material. His one daughter says that out of all the things her Father has these mean the world to him. And she said she will pay whatever the cost to have them shipped to Los Angeles when the time comes. (hate to see that bill)!

BB: Sorry the COLD SPELL has reached Florida. Nice thing is that it doesn't last too long. I just feel sorry for all those Snowbirds that are paying through the nose to get away from the cold and they have to deal with GOD FORBID 40F temps! Ha Ha. We're at 29F right now and windy. Brrr.
Regarding the credit card perks. Since folks not 'cruising' much lately I bet some of them are really missing the "CASH REBATES" they use to get from charging all the cruises.
We enjoy the Costco VISA rebate check that we get once a year. It pays for the membership and we still have money left to make it worth using the charge card. Of course, we use that same VISA card for gas, groceries and anything else we buy. I have another Visa card that I only use for ONLINE purchases. That way I can keep a better track in case anybody hijacks the card number and starts charging stuff. We have a few others, but I bet some of them are expired by now. They sit in a cup and never get used. I should try and call and see if they're still valid one day. They say you're NOT suppose to cancel credit cards. It doesn't do your credit score any good. I know when we bought the new Refrig we used the 2yrs same as cash - no interest for the first time. That company sent us a credit card that sits with all the other ones.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I know one thing that needs to get done though. The KITCHEN FLOOR needs a good scrubbing after all this baking. Too many crumbs from the cookies that have all that butter in them and they get dragged around and make ugly marks on the wood floor. Best color floor to have in a house is Light-Medium Grey. You never see anything on it!

Rita/Bill: Hope the SNOW STORM didn't dump too much snow on you all. Next year you need to get out of town right after Thanksgiving and just do ZOOM visits with the family.

Take care all..........be back later.

DAVE: Good for you guys buying the best furnace filters you can find. It's amazing how much those darn things cost these days.

This will be ART today out there on the back dirt roads freezing his Tosh off on that bike! NUTS is all I can say.

I guess it’s always good to sing while we can.
Got our shingles and pneumonia shots today. Doctor already had the MRI results which she discussed with us. I have to wait to hear from the urologist for his “official” observations and thoughts.
I’m glad that they found nothing in your head Kathie. Well that didn’t come out right, did it? I think that you have given me aidea! A zip line from the GM building in Detroit across the river to Caesar’s Casino in Ontario! I thought you had mentioned that Art has snow tires for his bike.
We’re right around 32F Pat. There is a little snow falling but no wind. I think Gary timed his wrapping session perfectly to score a lunch.
I try to remember to change our filters about every 6 weeks Dave. I was doing it every 4 weeks during the summer with all of the construction going on! I don’t think we even have 2” of snow.
That must have felt pretty good to have that pea jacket fit Tony! I remember when they were all the rage in the fashion world. How long did it take you to get “used to” the odd earth quake?
I guess I should swap the laundry. And brush the pups teeth. And reward myself with a glass of wine.
You good people all stay safe and sound!

Time to take a break from not getting anything done today! Motivation is still not getting to me to do anything. This is terrible and so unlike me. Heck, Bert needed to go to the PO and Publix and wanted to know if I was going to come with him. I told him I'd rather just stay home. That is just not my style, but I guess waking up at 5:15 can do that to a person, right?

Got a nice surprise this afternoon. Fed Ex delivered a package from the NC part of the family which had to be opened right away. It a package of mini cupcakes by Melissa! They look so delicious! Check it out: 1608233540534.png Now we just have to control ourselves and not gobble them down!! LOL
