A late good morning. HAPPY MOTHER'S Day to all the MOTHERS.

Bruce got me flowers, a muddler to make Mojito's, sugar free candy and a couple bottles of Chocolate wine. And we are going to Benihana's for dinner.

Just finished my shower. This morning I redid an email to Bruce with some excursions for Alaska as the original he could not see them. I had to look up all the excursions and write them on a piece of paper then the new email I had to put instructions on how to get into Celebrity as me and then how to look at the excursions. I have no idea what one(s) he will choose. Or he may choose something different.

Will watch what I can of today's race.

All have a great day.

Happy Mother's Day Ladies....may you be showered with all the love & affection you so richly deserve!!!

Painting is done at Barb's except for the usual touch up spots...will do that on Wed. when I go over to help her get everything cleaned up after the plumbers finish on Tues...everything looks so fresh & pretty now...it was a lot of work but so worth it! Off to take an Aleve & relax for the rest of the day!

Glad to know we have similar opinions of the latest Janet Evanovitch book, Pat. Really a pale imitation of her Stephanie Plum series. Gabriela is simply another version of Stephanie and her banter and thoughts about Rafer are much like those between Stephanie and Morelli, or Ranger. Only thing missing is a Lula character.
Mother's Day lunch at the Chinese/Japanese/Asian restaurant was nice and it was good to see our two grandkids who returned home from U Maine yesterday.
Watching the Bruins as they attempt to even up their series in the hockey playoffs. Celtics last minute loss yesterday was a heartbreaker but the way they came back from a big deficit to almost pull off a victory was encouraging. Nothing encouraging about the Red Sox so far this season, but the season is a long one, so who knows what will happen eventually.
Knew the answer to your question about Atticus Finch's daughter, Dave, and without having to read your minuscule note.
Lee- your reference to a Gibbs' slap, reminded me that I have been wondering when, if ever, Mark Harmon's character will return to NCIS. Gary Cole seems to have fit in quite well this year and NCIS has been one of the few series that I am aware of, that has successfully replaced so many major characters over the years that the series has been aired.

It's a Monday morning, the beginning of another week.

On Mondays I often wonder how things will change by the end of the week.

Got nothing for you this morning, just checking in.

Happily it will be sunny most of the week with the temperature rising with each passing day.

Good Monday morning!
Again, not much from north of the border. I'm sure, to the delight of all of you.
On tap...walk the pups, play some pickle ball, go to the LOCAL eye guy for a follow up pressure test and being Monday, it's game's day.
I'll check in later but my gosh you are a busy chatty group. And that's fun to follow along.

Good morning. No real plans for today, but I think I will make the sugar free chocolate cake I bought a couple of weeks ago, it is by Pillsbury and they also had sugar free chocolate frosting.

Dinner last night was very good. They had so many people that they sat 9 to a table instead of the normal 7, so it was a bit tight but we managed. Both of us came home with leftovers so we have our lunch for today.

All have a great day.

Good morning! Today promises to be another Chamber of Commerce day.

We had a nice visit with Laurie & Ron yesterday. Of course, the conversation had to turn to politics. So glad we are all on the same page, so it was a discussion instead of an argument. The day flew by and before we knew it, it was time for them to head home. They left early enough that we were able to watch The Equalizer and NCIS in real time and not a delayed recorded version,

Nothing on tap for today. And that's all've got for right now. I'll be back later.

Good evening.

This afternoon Bruce's sister died. Barbara has not been well for the last couple of months and three weeks ago she basically quit eating. Last Thursday she in full care of Hospice so she was only on pain meds and had completely quit eating a couple days before. She was 74 and had uncontrolled type 1 diabetes, uncontrolled because she until about 18 months ago would order cookies and candy which she would hide in her room and eat when ever she wanted. And she developed dementia a couple of years ago. So now she is out of pain.

All have a good night.

Sorry to hear that Bruces’ sister passed Nancy.
The weather guessers here can’t seem to agree on the temperatures Kathie. They do agree it will be nice until the weekend.
We watch so little network TV now Pat. We prefer watching recorded shows so we can zip through the commercials. My gosh, there’s a lot of them.
Lu-Ann has blood work tomorrow morning at 08:00. We booked it early, extra early, because she has to fast. That seems to an oddity with blood work these days.
Hopefully you all had a great Monday.

Nancy/Bruce: So sorry about the death of Bruces sister. May she RIP now.

Tomorrow I will need to find the Spring/Summer bed covers. The ones on the bed now are just too hot. And with the temps up into the 80's this week it will be just too many covers for this girl.

Hope that
Lu-Ann's blood work goes well for her. And KAREN... hope your eye-check up goes good for you.

I got the 2 gallons of paint today and Save $46.51 by getting the discount. The Sherwin Williams store I go to really has been generous by giving me the discounts for the paints I've bought so far. Whew........that stuff is like $68 bucks a gallon normally. Crazy.

We still will need paint for the kitchen, laundry room and hallway going into the garage. But that won't be for a while yet.

You all take care and try and get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather! :emoticon 0115 inlove:

And just when I'd given up on capturing some Key Lime Pie ice cream...THE HUNT IS BACK ON!

Yesterday Kathi saw an add in the paper that another grocery store chain in town has it.

So today I suit up in my camouflage to track down and capture some. My camouflage? Tropical shirt, CHECK. Shorts, CHECK. Sun glasses, CHECK. What am I forgetting?

Wish me, "Happy Hunting".

I'm forgetful K2; What's the 2 gallons of paint for?

BB; The only downside of watching a TV show as it airs, and not a recording of it, is not being able to fast-forward through the commercials.

Speaking of TV, it was Monday evening last night. The only day each week that Rachel Maddow does her show now. That's a bunch of hooey. Does she got naked pictures of the network's brass?

So sad to hear about your hubby's sister, Nancy. Can't say I've ever had any sugar free icing.

So how did your eye pressure test go, Lee?

I'm definitely getting spoiled by the warm and sunny days this week.

(But knowing this area's weather, still haven't taken the ice scrapers out of the cars.)

Good morning. I have been awake since 11:30 last night. I got about 2 hours sleep and woke to go to the bathroom and was never able to get back to sleep. And that was with taking a 10mg Melatonin and a 50mg Rx sleeping pill. So I will be tired today.

Yesterday I got a refund from the Imaging place where I got my xrays of my hands, I knew I would.

Since I have been up I have made parking reservations for our October and December cruises. Actually found a garage that is only $8 a day, the others the least expensive is $9.99 a day.

I was able to find that in September we can get rapid Covid tests to return to the US at the Vancouver airport the morning we fly out and the price is a lot less then we spend here for the same test. I have saved the website so I can make reservations for us when it is closer to time. That is if we will still have to get the tests.

Dave, when I bought the sugar free icing it was the first time I ever saw it and the sugar free cake mix. Both of us decided that it tastes pretty good. No off taste.

All have a great day.

Nancy - Our deepest sympathy to you and Bruce on the passing of Bruce's sister. May she RIP. I too got a crappy night's sleep. I've got a sore on my right leg that just doesn't seem to want to heal. Doctor says it has something to do with my vein blockage. When I'm sitting, it's not a problem as it's getting enough blood to the leg, but when I'm lying in bed, It will start to throb and hurt like crazy. Even with extra strength Tylenol it wouldn't stop hurting and kept me tossing and turning most of the night. It's going to be a very long day.

Karen - Good luck with your eye exam today. This month has really flown. Are you finished with all the drops?

Dave - I too prefer watching recorded shows, but once in a while we do watch a show as it is being shown. Good luck on your quest for the key lime ice cream.

Lee - Good luck to Lu-Ann on her blood work. I have to book appointments for both Bert & I to get blood work done for our doctors.

Kathie - Nice that you're finally getting some nice weather. Enjoy it while it lasts. Nice discount you got on the paonts yesterday. Good for you!

Got a nurse coming in a little while from home health. I thought I was finished with them, but apparently I was wrong. Only other thing to worry about today is to bake a huge piece of salmon for dinner that will go with fettucine alfredo and mixed veggies, I'll also have to make some lemon & parsley compound butter to go with it. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about dinner.

Time for some coffee in the hopes it will keep me awake. Have a good day, everyone!

Winds are still ferocious and temperatures are expected to remain uncomfortably low until tomorrow when the warm up is due to begin. At some point over the next few days, the low temperature of the day is expected to be what the high temperature was yesterday. Winds were so strong that they actually blew open the covers of our trash barrels which were in the driveway to be collected. They even moved one of the barrels a couple of feet. Fortunately nothing spilled out of the barrels.
It appears that the summer cribbage league in which Rita and I have competed in, is due to begin tonight, if my information is correct. It was yet another victim of Covid and I'm hoping my info is correct and we can once again compete.
Celtics staged another late comeback and the series with the Bucks is tied and returns to the Garden for game 5. Two more wins and the Celtics will advance to the next level in the playoffs.
I've become a fan of the British series Midsomer Murders, and yesterday featured an episode from some years back that starred the original actor who played Inspector Barnaby and the cast included an actor who eventually took over the role of Barnaby.

Well now, good luck to everyone with tests and appointments today.
We got to the lab and they told Lu-Ann that the appointment was for tomorrow. Except that the confirmation from them said it was today! That’s the second time this has happened with this lab.
Anyway, they took Lu-Ann, did her draw and we were on our way by 8:15!
Walked the pups, cut the front lawn and now I’m having a coffee. After this we’re headed to The Running Factory to pick up court shoes for Lu-Ann and if they’re in me too. Then we return the court shoes I had ordered to another spot. They just didn’t fit right. That will give the batteries for the lawn mower a chance to recharge and I can cut the back this afternoon.
Good luck going under cover on the Key Lime Ice Cream hunt Dave. That said, “happy hunting”. The pressure in both eyes dropped significantly. And that, as Martha Stewart used to say, is a good thing.

I'm making myself hungry just thinking about dinner.
You’re making me hungry too!
Thanks for the Covid test reminder Nancy. We can get our 4th shots now.
Sadly for me Bill, Blacklist jumped the shark many seasons back. We always enjoyed Midsomer!
Paint is another thing that has soared in cost Kathie. We have painted a couple of rooms / walls here because, in part, the builder‘s paint is so doggone cheap!
Hi Karen.
Off we go.
You all have a wonderful and safe day!

Good Afternoon Wrabbits. Beautiful SUNNY day here in Pure Michigan!

Negc: I wrote down the Midsomer series and will check it out. Everything seems to be on RERUNS on TV lately. I guess they figure we'll all be OUTSIDE enjoying the nice weather.
Bummer on your temps and WINDS. Our nice weather will be over your way in a day or two for sure. Hang in there.

Nice that your Summer cribbage league is going to start up. Just be very mindful of "COVID". It's come back with a vengeance in EVERY STATE. Seems like people are being a little to lacked on wearing the MASKS and being in crowds.

Lee: Sure glad they took Lu-Ann and did her blood draws. Especially since she has to fast before getting them. Might need to call the day before or morning of her next appt and make sure they have their records right. Hate when that happens.

Hope the new "court shoes" work out for both of you. Our township Rec Center has Pickleball. Only thing is that they're a "TIGHT GROUP" and not sure how they feel about add-on's. With my crazy knees it wouldn't be a sport I could take on. Have fun.

The nice lady from the drapery shoppe came by this morning and did a measurement for some valances. I looked and looked online and in stores and just couldn't find anything to match up with the dining room chair-SEATs. There was no way I was re-doing those seats at this point of my life. Just too much money and senseless. I'm happy with the valances she and I worked out and I was glad I was able to find a fabric when I looked through tons of books at the shoppe last week. Now to wait 8 weeks for them to get made and delivered.

DAVE:
The latest paint is for the HALLWAY & FOYER entrance area. Only paint we will need after this is for the Kitchen & Laundry Room when that remodel gets done. No hurry there.

I would love to do the walls going down the stairs and into the recreation area of the basement, but I'll wait until WINTER to get MR Artie to do that job. Then we will be done until we DIE in the place or get moved out!

Pat: Dinner sounds nice for your group as usual.

We are cutting back on our portions and carbs here. Last night we had 6 oz of chicken breast each with a salad. I told Art next portion size will be 4 oz. Told him to eat up all his crackers, because I'm not buying anymore. The man loves to GRAZE while he does his crossword puzzles.

You all take care. I'm out of here for now.

Midsomer Murders are a fun, light “cozy mystery” series Kathie. We started pickleball just before Covid shut everything down. We missed last summer because of a little thing I like to call heart surgery. Oh wait. That’s what it was. :D Pickleball is free at our big Community Rec Center. We play 2 or 3 times a week. Most folks are very nice.
For some strange reason I can’t get “Liberty Valance” out of my mind.
Time to cut the back lawn.
Enjoy this fine day everyone!

Got a call from the Lighting Shoppe earlier that the dining room light fixture arrived. Went and picked it up and added that to the "HONEY DO LIST" for Mr Electrician Artie to put together and hang one of these days. No hurry. He's been TAPING the hallway and foyer so he can start "painting" tomorrow. The man is coming close to being done for the "season" with these inside jobs. Whew. Glad we got this all started early enough in the year.
