Day #2 with "Sir Jack" in the house is about to begin.

Last night he threw a fit when it was time to go in his Kennel. He's normally very quiet, but not then. The first night he fussed a bit but that was short lived. He's now become so used to sitting and snoozing in Kathi's lap. Oh well, another learning experience for him.

It's funny during the day seeing him chase Fuzzbutt around. She's still not sure about this little rat.

Sorry to hear that your yard sale was pretty much a bust, KC. Oh well, you guys did get rid of some stuff and you did get to meet some new neighbors.

How dreadful to know that another funeral will be in your future soon, Nancy.

"Outdoor living space". That's a phrase that I'd expect to hear on HGTV, Lee. Along with "OH MY GOD" and "Open spaces".

Washing windows feels so good, until you look through the other side of the window.

So BB, who was your "volunteer" to put new batteries in your smoke alarm? "Food-trucks". I wouldn't be against having them out just for Halloween.

It's such a shame K2 that actual paper newspapers are slowly disappearing. I'm not keen on reading a newspaper on a screen. So far, Massillon's keeps going. OR read it on-line if your want. Kathi loved your weaner-dog cartoon.

This morning a young grandson is coming over to put together a small wooden car, have lunch and take Fuzzbutt for a walk. He's good, when he's away from his 5 other siblings.

Good morning.
Mother Nature, like Jack, is throwing a bit of a fit right now. Lightening and rain as a front moves in that should see us hit the mid 60’s today. It‘s my fault for doing the windows and the neighbour for washing his car.
Ya, I know about what they call patio furniture now Dave. But that’s how they can charge more. Between the snow, heat and summer bugs can we really “live” outdoors? Without a newspaper what do you put on the floor to help train Jack?
My question is always “what happens to the stuff that didn’t get sold?” Karen. My rule of thumb was if we were willing to part with it AND it didn’t sell it went into the garage and then to the curb on garbage day.
Art and I agree on the prep work for painting Kathie. And NEVER use cheap painters tape!
Well played at Olive Garden Pat! Fill up on free salad and bread and have enough left for some good take home meals.
Sorry to hear of Bruce’s sisters problems Nancy. Always a tough go when someone with multiple health issues seems to “give up“.
Today is our turn to host ”games day”. Everyone brings a little something to share. We have a couple of kinds of pizza and apple cinnamon spring rolls. The hosts provide beverages so I had to grab half a dozen beers, eh, for Doug and Dave. We all have enough dog beds. I think in addition to our Katie and Ava we’ll have Simon, Emmy and Peachy.
I think I’ll see if our pups are hungry.
Have an extra good Monday everyone.

Good morning! Here it is bright and early and I'm already on the phone trying to get onw prescription filled. What a way to start the week!

Lee -We need to get one of the boys to do all the windows inside and and outside. We'll let one of them make some money and we'll get clean windows. That's a win/win in my book! Have fun "playing" with your friends today.

Karen - Sorry you didn't make more money at the garage sale. I really hate those things. They're a lot of work without a lot of cash to show for it.

Kathy- Bert & I always taped everything before we painted. Last time we hired a team of "professional" painters to do this house. They taped nothing and you can see spots where they got sloppy. Definitely not like the work we would do.

Dave - Jack is really settling in to his own routine. Hw definitely makes a great lap dog. I bet Fuzzbutt still hasn't figured out what he is.

Better get off here and get ready ro go hear for Buc-ee's before Bert changes his mind. I'll try to stop back later.

DAVE: Tell
JACK this is what happens to puppies that don't want to sleep in the crate at night! Hmmm! I suggest EAR PLUGS for the humans and just live through the training period.

Art is busy painting the PRIMER over the
RED paint. I give the man a lot of credit for his patience. This RED paint is a real stickler to cover. It will take 2 coats of the "special grey" primer to make sure the RED doesn't bleed through.

I've been doing laundry. Changed the bedding in our room. The Spare bedroom never got used this time around and it saves me from washing and changing that bedding out.

LEE: So, thanks a lot for doing your windows and causing the rain drops and semi-cloudy weather this morning. And pass on my thanks to your neighbor for washing his car. The dirt around the house is just too wet for me to bother getting out there and washing windows. And with everything being a TOTAL JUNK YARD inside our house there is no way I'm even thinking about WINDOWS right now.
Hope your card party get-together goes well. I was never much of a card player. Today would be a good time to make a few of those EASTER HARD BOIL EGGS to impress your card friends!

BB:
Hope you get to go to Buc-ee's today. Don't spend too much money on all the stuff the

BILL: What's going on over your way? When's the next cruise for you two folks? I know you can't just sit around and read books all Spring! LOL

Nancy: I feel bad for the family knowing that Bruce's sisters days are basically numbered. 74 is way too young to leave this world. Prayers she doesn't suffer.

Karen: Keep up the good work on eating the right foods to get those NUMBERS DOWN without taking pills. WALKING is supposed to be really good for that along with all the veggies. Lots of videos on YouTube to watch about making decent meals that are actually good for you. I think I could get off my
Cholesterol meds if I just kept FLOUR & SUGAR out of the house. Summer is always so much easier to stay away from things like that. And AUGUST, when the harvest comes in, is the BEST month for fresh veggies around Michigan. Good luck and stick to it.

I need to switch out the laundry and do some folding. Be back later.

49F and the SUN is trying it's best to poke out from behind the clouds.

So Pat, how much do you pay and how soon do you want the windows done? I'm askin' for a friend. ;) Have fun at Buc-ees!
Not sure what we'll play Kathie. Threaten Jack with "Hot Dog" pictures? Really?? The poor pup won't sleep for weeks.
Hopefully the rest of the gang is having a good Monday!

It's 2:00 pm on MONDAY afternoon and I am DONE, DONE, DONE with polishing all the DANG Silver in this house. This stuff is going, going, gone as soon as I can list it somewhere. It was nice to see it all shiny, but I really don't need this STUFF anymore. I might keep a tray and the cream & sugar set that I really like and use, but that's it. WISH ME LUCK.
I'll get a picture of all this stuff later just so you can see I'm not joking. I think all but the bread baskets were gifts. Some from 55 years ago at the Wedding Shower. WOW.... things sure were different back then.

My legs are barking, and I need to sit down and put them up for a while.

Later gang.

Good afternoon. We got home a bit after 5 last night and it did not take long to unload the car. We got 30.5 mpg coming home, Bruce stayed at 65 mph so that was good.

This morning I went to BJ's and bought a ham to fix for us next week and a whole chicken to fix tomorrow. They had some nice pants that are a bit heavy but not much so I bought 4 for Bruce for Alaska, and some plants. I spent over $100 so when I went to the gas pump I saved $.50 a gallon so I only paid $3.38 a gallon. Then I went to Walmart for a few things, then to Publix to pick up a RX which they did not have as they had called to the Dr to confirm the RX and had not heard back from them, so I have to call them now.

Called and will be getting a call back. The hands are not doing too bad as to swelling but they are hurting a good bit.

Will be making a meatloaf in a bit and will fix sweet potatoes and eggplant with it.

All have a good day.

Day #3 with Jack in the house is about to begin.

So far, he's getting comfortable around here. He's figured out how to get up the back steps, no matter how tiny he is. We've learned, he doesn't seem bothered by thunder. Is driving Fuzzbutt to distraction by chasing her. And figured out that if he barks long enough, Kathi won't make him stay in his kennel, but will put him in bed with her. (It takes only 6 weeks for the dog to train the owner.)

While I'm thinking about it; On the CBS network last night they had a news story about K-Mart. At one time there were over 2,000 stores. Now there's only 3 left in the U.S.

Excellent rule of thumb, Lee;
" My rule of thumb was if we were willing to part with it AND it didn’t sell it went into the garage and then to the curb on garbage day."

BB; I want to know about all the items you got at Buc-ee's. AND the stuff you thought about, but didn't get.

I'd bet that Art is dreading the day he painted that room red, K2. Wishing the best for you selling all that silver. But as you know, it's not desired as much as it once was back in the dark ages.

Hi to the rest of you Bunnies.

Today another rug-rat graces our castle from about 9 till noon. A granddaughter in elementary school. The one that went with Kathi to pick up Jack. She wants to pick one of our put-together kits, and put it together and maybe paint it on our kitchen table. (We've got a whole big box of different things they can build.) Then her and Kathi and Jack will be off to Pet-smart to have a personalized name tag for his collar made. Then she gets to decide what she wants for lunch. (As long as the place has a drive-thru.) And we'll eat it here. I sure hope they remember my request for a BLT from Arby's.

Good morning...nothing much on tap for here today...have to stay close to home as the Dr. office is calling today to tell me what time my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow....and guess what day Wes decided to start at Barb's....tomorrow! Good morning, everyone! Another pretty day here in the deep south with my kind of temperatures - 80s.

Karen - Good luck tomorrow with your surgery. Too bad that the bathroom project starts the same day. Just the luck of the draw, I guess. I need to get back to the eye doctor for a checkup. What with Covid and such, I haven't had my eyes examined in 2 years, so I really am due.

Dave - What did we buy at Buc=ee's? Well I'll tell you - 6 bags of Beaver nuggets. You can buy them at Amazon too. We also picked up some beef jerky, Oatmeal cookies, and 3 chopped brisket sandwiches on brioche rolls. We also got some of the same stuff for Elaine's kids for Easter.

Then last night we decided to treat ourselves to Bone Fish for a nice quiet dinner of just the 2 of us. I could get used to that very easily.

Kathie - I have the same problem as you when it comes to the silver stuff. I told Bert that I want to bring it to the coin store and just sell it for scrap silver. At lease you get something for it.

Lee - I hope your appointment went well. I guess this is eye doctor week.

Not a lot going on around here today. Tomorrow is the day we'll get everything for Easter dinner, so today will be my easy day. I see time out on the lanai!!

Have a fantastic day, gang. Behave and stay safe.

Good morning. My plan for the day is laundry and cook the whole chicken I bought yesterday. Called the Dr yesterday about not being able to get the RX and they said they would back but nothing so if I don't hear from them by noon I will call again.

All have a great day.

Dr.'s office just called & my check in time is not till 10:10 tomorrow morning....was hoping it would be a little earlier...but oh well...also got told there was a $200 co-pay....always something...but I think the last time it was nearly $500 so I guess I can't complain...

Pat, I think we are going to make a trip to Buckee's next month...I have to feed spark plug a couple times while Wendy goes to Ky. & Ohio over memorial day...Barb said she'd go out with me one of the days & we'd do a road trip to Daytona...

Back to doing nothing...

Good luck with your cataract surgery, KC. I think you will be very pleased with the result when it is done.
Guess the new
puppy has adjusted well to his new home and already has decided to claim his mastery of the house,Dave. His new collar should probably note his pre-eminent position.
Thanks for the picture of the beaver nuggets. Does the package indicate the ingredients in this treat?
Scary pictures on TV from the NY subway this morning. Looked like some of the films from Ukraine. Next Monday the Boston Marathon returns to its regular schedule for the first time in 3 years, so the scenes from Brooklyn bring back bad memories of the events in Boston several years ago.
MPG of the Prius is slowly creeping back and is currently at 43mpg. I think that the 4 new tires are partly responsible for the decrease from the high 40's-low 50's that I was getting. As the temperatures rise it should continue to improve although in FL, with its warmer temperatures, I was only getting mpg in the low 40's. Gas prices here are lower than what we were seeing in Vero Beach with $3.81 being about the best locally.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne, finally arrived home with their RV on Sunday.

Whats Up Hello GIF by Abitan
Did you miss me?? Ha Ha. Good Afternoon all.

Nice chatter on here so far.

DAVE: Nice to know that JACK is getting Kathi TRAINED in record time. I just hope he leaves you enough room in the bed! Ha Ha. He sure is a cutie.

BILL: Amazing how your Prius is doing after so many miles on it. Definitely a good choice when you bought it. I'm thinking I might like a Hybrid auto again. Not much to choose from these days. Not sure what I'll end up with.

Lee: TEETH & EYES for you today. Nice combination. Nice to know you can get in 2 appts in one day!
Art did the eye shot appt today. He was pleased that the male doctor (the father of his regular female dr out on maternity leave) took so much time to review his records and shots. Made some changes and wants to see him back in 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks.

Karen: You'll be surprised at how fast the eye surgery goes. Just make sure to rest when you get home. You know the drill from the first eye. It sounds like this doctor will be much better. Bummer that WES is coming to start Barbs job on the same day, but I wouldn't be delaying it at this point. Nice that Barb will give him the key and let him get started. Just make sure she puts her cat in a secure room! :) GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!

BB: Those BEAVER NUTS look good. Sounds like you did really good with all the STUFF you picked up. Was it crowded?

DAVE: I'll be lucky to GIVE the "Silver" away! You are so right that people aren't into Silver like back in the 70's. I'm just glad I didn't pay for all of the stuff I have. Nice gifts from my shower, wedding, housewarming gifts for 2 houses and some people brought stuff like crystal vases and bowls for when we threw parties back in the day! WOW.... did we have some doozer's of parties. Ha Ha

I watched a LIVE CAST of the funeral in the Serbian Church in Windsor, Ontario earlier. The funeral home did
an excellent job. Made you feel like you were right there at the church. The choir sang beautifully and the folks that spoke did a good job. Had me in tears at certain times when the daughter spoke. May he RIP.

I managed to make 2 batches of Biscotti's so far today. Some for US and some for the Choir's bake sale. We have so many bakers that are vacationing in Florida that we need to bake a lot more than usual to make up a nice selection for the Bake Sale.
The worst part is getting them to the church hall in one piece! :icon rolleyes:

Okay, I'm out of here for now. GOTTA get outside while it's sunny and 61F.

I got to ride my BIKE around the neighborhood a little while ago. WOW, now that was really "special"! I really do need a new bike. I've SHRUNK and this one is about 1.5 inches too high for me. Good Wednesday morning Bunnies.

Definitely a day off for you, KC. And I think that all of us are quite sure that this cataract surgery will go a lot smoother this time with your new eye doctor.

So Lee, how did your visits to your dentist and your optometrist go yesterday?

I've never had any Beaver Nuggets, BB. So what the heck are they?

One thing we never have a shortage of, Nancy, is dirty laundry.

Car shopping used to be fun, K2. Not any more. Now many dealerships say in their adds that they won't sell cars above sticker price. Heck, that used to be just the starting point to start deducting from. Whacking off hundreds if not thousands of dollars. I still like the idea of electric, or at least partially electric cars. If I remember right, the 3 largest U.S. automakers are planning to go all electric by 2030.

I agree Bill; Your Prius has been very good to you over the years.

The weather was beautiful here yesterday. Sunny all day with no wind and a temperature right around 70. The granddaughter and Kathi took Fuzzbutt for a walk, while Kathi carried Jack. She's got one of those over the shoulder dog bags, where the pooch's head sticks out. Heck, her purse is a bigger bag than that. NO LEE, it's not an "over the shoulder boulder holder".
