Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hello back at you, K2. Did you see the picture of the Vero Beach restaurant I posted on Facebook. The sign was partially blocked and the other picture I took as we were passing in the car was too blurry to read. The name of the restaurant is KATA but it features Indonesian and Japanese food, not Serbian, so I can't give a review of its offerings.
Pre-surgery meeting went smoothly and it was very thorough including a review of my medical history, an EKG, blood test and the usual check of my vital signs. The appointment was at 9:00 a.m. but next week I am scheduled to appear at the surgical unit at the ungodly hour of 5:00am. Rita was still sleeping when I left this morning, but she will have to come with me next week and drive me home when the procedure is over.
Before we left for our cruise, we paid $3.79, Dave and now the price varies between $3.96 and $4.29 locally.
K2, we left for Ft.Lauderdale on Friday and I stopped at the Post Office and filled out a form to have our mail held and not to be delivered until Monday, the
7th. Friday's mail was already out with the carrier so I expected to find it in the mail box when we got back here Sunday. When I opened the box it was filled with mail that had to have arrived after Friday. Nothing in the box yesterday, so who knows what we will find today,
While I was in the hospital waiting room,I saw some video of flooded streets in WDW on this morning's TV. We had some rain here but nothing like what I saw on the screen. Rest of this week is supposed to feature scattered showers but warm temperatures. When Kevin and Lisa and the rest of the crew got home they were greeted with temperatures in the 60's but now they are getting more freezing temperatures and snow. Crazy weather patterns.
Hope BB's stay at the hospital will be brief. Saw one picture of Bert and Pat on their cruise and it looked like they were have a good time.

and it looked like they were have a good time.
As they say Bill, it’s always a good time until somebody winds up in the hospital. Or gets an eye put out! We saw the flooded streets at WDW too. Crazy!
I was trying to think how many miles we put on “our shoes” this trip Kathie. I’ll have to look on my Apple Watch app because it tracks stuff like that. In February 2020, the last year we were able to travel to FL, we spent $454.46 on groceries and $684.27 eating out. This year it was $570.66 for groceries and $503.53 eating out. Yes, I do track it in US dollars year over year.
It rained like crazy just after I got done BBQing dinner. Now the sun is out. At 73F it’s just plain HOT and sticky.
Have a great evening everyone.

Bill I'll have to go look at your Fbook page and check out the Photo of my NAME. Thanks for thinking of me. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I went to the post office and the parking lot was full. Not sure what was going on. I just drove up to the mailbox and slipped my cards into it. Hope the cards make it to the other Birthday girls on time. We have 3 in our choir that have birthdays on the same DATE..... different years. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

After the post office I drove another mile to Costco since the gas buddy was showing the cost of gas at Costco was $.40 cents cheaper than our Kroger store pumps. Costco = $3.84 a gal.
I was just past a 1/2 of tank and ended up paying $40 bucks to fill it up. Crazy, but it is what it is. Only to get worse when the refineries change over to SUMMER FUEL MIXTURE.
Always something.

Then I drove over to the our current priest house and put the Pkg I wrapped up of the Afghan I made as a farewell gift to him and his wife ON THE PORCH. I just didn't want to face them in person. I then backed out of the drive quickly and called what I thought was HER CELL #, except it was his. He answered and I almost hung up. He recognized my voice and I told him I left something on the porch. He said he was WALKING in the neighborhood and to come back and come inside. I said OH NO had to get home. I turn the corner and guess who was walking right towards my car...... YUP.... THE PRIEST. He comes to my window at the corner and said you must come back to the house and I was able to plead that I had to go home. He started to choke up when I said I would be at his last service on Sunday. Lordy, I'm mush when it comes to this and that's why I didn't want go inside their house. I told him I wrote him a note and that everything will be just fine. Told him to enjoy his vacation to Florida on Monday and that was it. WOW....I just got out of that by the hair on my chin. (yes, there are a few on my chin every so often! Ha Ha.)
Story time over for tonight. ;)

I see NO WORD from Mama Bunny. Bummer.

Lee: Looks like you guys are doing pretty good on finances for food this trip. Good going.
Buy one of those Double Packs of Peanut Butter at Costco before you come over the border. You might need to make a steady diet of Peanut Butter sandwiches for lunch once you check out the rise in grocery prices back home.

Nite all. Be safe and pray for not only Ukraine, but for everyone one!

And the history books will show what finally brought the Ukraine War to its' end was the revolt of the Russians who could no longer get their McDonalds French fries and their cup of Starbucks.
1f601.png
I am impressed by how many companies are willing to take a monetary hit by shutting down sales of their products in Russia, thanks to Putin's war. It's just sickening seeing the harm coming to Ukrainians day after day.

Welcome back Nancy. And thanks for some details of your cruise. Yes, even the number of people who came down with Covid. How cool to be able to see a pod of whales. While on the ship did you have to wear masks in public areas?

Enjoy it while you can Lee. In a couple of weeks you'd be willing to give your left nut for these humid 70 degree days. I see that you too have an urge to get back to cruising. Sounds like this year in Florida you've been eating less at restaurants and more cooking at the rental.

I'm with you K2 in that I'd willingly pay higher gas prices if it keeps money from Putin and the Russians. It's good that Ted is willing to spend his loot on himself and not just saving it for his kids. Hey, he earned it. Let the kids save up for their own retirement. I'm speculating that those 2 passengers on Nancy's cruise that came down with Covid became infected right about the time they left on the cruise, but were not shedding the virus yet when they took a Covid test just before departure. Not going on a bike ride when it's 34 degree? .......And you call yourself a Pure Michigander.

You sure have a "fun" week to look forward to, Bill. Your Florida vacation is definitely over with. 5 AM is early. But the sooner in, the sooner out.

So how are those overworked muscles and back doing today, KC. It sucks not being a 25 year old anymore.

Nothing much planned for today. Since Fuzzbutt has been fed and gone outside, this old fart is going back to bed.

Good morning.
Our pups have been out for their walks too Dave. Our “elder” Katie has never really liked temps over 70F. Which is is already. We just go for a short walk. “Puppy” Ava and I go for a longer walk. It works for all of us. About my left nut…that was given away by my sweet bride long ago. :emoticon 0140 rofl:

We have heard how grocery prices are at home Kathie. But they are headed out of sight here as I suspect they are everywhere. Sometimes eating out here, as Momma Bunny will attest to, is worth it because you have enough left for a take away box and a second meal. I think that it is so special that you and your outgoing priest had just a moment to chat. You got a chance to really know how much you are appreciated by each other.
I’ve always been a fan of early in early out appointments of any kind. Medical, auto, pet, you name it.
On tap today…breakfast at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Which will cover lunch too. Then if the weather cooperates we’ll hop The Skyliner and see a couple of other Disney hotels. We may get off at The Riviera for a wander about.
Right now, I have two pups who should be fed so we have time for a brief walk before we head out. With Greyhounds we felt comfortable leaving them for about 5 1/2 to 6 hours tops. With our little Ava and her puppy energy we try not to exceed 4 1/2.
Whatever the day brings, have a fantastic one. Try to support those businesses who are cutting all ties with Russia. Say a prayer for the amazing people of The Ukraine.
And once again the change in font size and colour baffles me when it looks like “blue 22” on my device.

Good morning!

Kathie, it's good that you got a chance to say a proper goodbye to your priest...it sucks that some uppity whipper snapper helped hustle him out the door before he was quite ready...

Dave, the muscles are letting me know they don't appreciate all the lifting & tugging I've been doing lately...and unloading 2- 5 gal. buckets of roof coating for Barb's roof yesterday did not help any...they must have weighed 50lbs each...easy...

Nancy, sounds like a nice relaxing cruise...and seeing a pod of whales on your tour was a nice bonus....we did a boat tour around Antigua when I was there in 2010...

Lee, our pet's have us well trained in their likes & dislikes don't they? Hope the rains don't put a damper on your day at Disney...we had only a little teaser rain here yesterday..."they" keep saying we are going to get more...but when is anyone's guess...

Bill, how much longer are you & Rita here for? Bet that was a tough adjustment for the kid's going back home to snow...after a nice tropical vacation...

Taking a bit of a break today...after making the run to the thrift store yesterday morning & then to Barb's in the afternoon I'm about done in....I got all the trim down in the bathroom & the walls prepped for painting...which I will wait to do after he get's the demo done on Monday...tonite we are going out to my Uncles for dinner...homemade beef & noodles....they are leaving the 20th to go back to Ohio so this is probably the last time we will see them before they go...this visit sure went by fast!
The next door neighbors are getting a new roof put on....and the company that is doing it is doing it totally different than I've ever seen any of them do it in here...they have the shingles already stacked up on the roof...and they haven't removed the old roof yet...they left sheets of plywood in the yard last night along with the new ridge vents...any company I've ever seen work in here always stripped the roof first....replaced any bad wood & then did the shingles...should be interesting...
I hear a 2nd cup of coffee calling my name...so I'm off to enjoy...

Just saw that KC popped on to post while I was typing away. Take care Karen and give you muscles a break. Now tell us something, ARE YOU doing that ROOF job with that roof coating you dragged off your truck? How the heck will you get it up on the roof is my question. Don't be trying to over do it kiddo. Your back is a very important thing to BE NICE TOO THESE DAYS.

Happy You Can Do It GIF by Hello All
That's Artie wishing you all a Hapay Day.

Dave it amazes me that you can feed FuzzButt and let him out and then be able to go back to sleep. That just wouldn't happen with me. Once I'm up .... sleep time is OVER.

Lee: Sounds like a yet another fun day for you and Lu-Ann. Did you hear or read about the FLASH RAIN and FLOODING at Disney the other day? I take it you guys weren't there.

Went pass the 10 min time frame and had to cut and paste my reply here. Sorry for any duplicates.

Lee: Sounds like a yet another fun day for you and Lu-Ann. Did you hear or read about the FLASH RAIN and FLOODING at Disney the other day? I take it you guys weren't there.

Bill: I think getting into the surgery area at 5a.m. is a good thing. Not good for RITA to have to get up that early to get you there and then stay to drive you home. But you most likely will be having the procedure around 7 a.m. by the time they prep you and the DOCTOR actually shows up. They just want to make sure all you patients are prepped and ready for all the doctors morning surgeries. Just PRAY they don't postpone you because of a emergency that needs the operating room! Hope Rita can keep busy for all the time she has to sit around. Tell her to go back into the car and go to sleep. They can always call her CELL # if they need her. LESS GERMS in the car too.

Art goes to the special dentist today (can't think of the name they call it) to get that back upper tooth "evaluated". She told him 2 years ago it should get pulled, but his dentist just did a Root Canal on it to try and save it. Now we are almost sure she will take a super 3-D X-ray that will cost of out of pocket $65 bucks after insurance and then tell us to go back to the regular dentist and get it pulled and then get the permanent bridge procedure started. We don't want to go against our regular dentist, so we're going to go through with this WASTE OF TIME process today. It all could have been done and over already if only the regular dentist didn't want to double check with this specialist about the tooth. Geez. I guess we should be grateful he's not a QUICK PULL dentist.

ATTN:
PAT did say on Facebook that she just can't type on the small little CELL PHONE and will fill us in when she gets out of the hospital. Sounded like she would be there another few days.

Okay, out of here for now. Gotta get ready to go across town to the dentist. Yes, I get to tag along so I get the VERDICT right from the dentist and not HALF the STORY from ART who isn't good at passing on whatever doctors tell him. Ha Ha.

Later. Be safe and always remember we have it so much better right now, even with high gas and food prices, than those caught up in this senseless war in Ukraine. Bless them all.

A late good morning.

Regarding those on the ship that got Covid, it was past half way when the first was announced and two days to go with the second. The only places on the ship that you had to wear a mask was the theater for shows and the casino, otherwise no mask on board but each island required them to be worn.

Yesterday I bought gas at BJ's, where we usually go, and was nicely surprised that with using the BJ's credit card paid $3.79 a gallon. I thought it would be $4.00 with the prices everywhere else at $4.19. After getting gas I went to Aldi and bought corned beef, cabbage, small potatoes and bananas, then it was to Walmart for a few things then home. I got one load of Bruce's laundry done and the rest today.

Have helped Bruce with putting up supports for Dragon Fruit that is ready to go in the ground. He is putting up another one as there are enough plants for two.

When I had my cataract surgery it was three weeks of drops pre, a medical clearance which was easy as I had been cleared for gallbladder surgery just a month prior and then after surgery drops for 3 more weeks. I was glad the Dr was making sure everything was good to go for me. And also glad that it was very light anesthesia because when I had the gall bladder removed I was in the hospital for 3 days because the anesthesia made my oxygen drop very low so had to be on oxygen for 2 1/2 days before the level came up to normal.

All have a great day.

The kids actually went home to sixty degree weather only to get colder temps, rain and snow a few days later which must have been even more of a shock. I remember one time, a few years ago, returning home from Florida after there had been a heavy snow storm and finding the maintenance crew on the roofs of our condos, shoveling the snow off the roof. As soon as we had parked our car, two of the workers came down from the roof and helped us unpack the car and carry our suitcases to the porch of our unit. It was almost as if we were back on our cruise getting such service.
Glad to see some of the major corporations closing down their operations in Russia in response to Putin's actions against Ukraine. Only way the Russian people are likely to recognize the ugliness of what he is doing is to effect their personal lives.
Just checked and our local alligator has parked himself at his favorite spot next to the water at the hole which we can view from our condo. He wasn't there earlier and I wish I had actually seen him arrive and settle in. He'll probably leave later when, again, I am not watching.LOL
I miss my Fitbit watch, Lee. I would like to know just how many miles I walked on our cruise, but I haven't been able to find a replacement charger for it and will probably end up getting a new Fitbit or Apple Watch after we get back home.
We head home on April Fool's Day, KC. We are shipping our car back and Kevin will be flying down at the end of this month to assist us in packing up and getting to the airport.

Wide Awake Insomnia GIF by MOODMAN
ALWAYS SOMETHING! Duh!

So while I’m up I can bore you all with Art’s dental visit.
This specialist “Lady Dentist” is the nicest person you could have when it came to explaining about Art’s issues with his teeth. Took 3 sets of X-Rays.
These were 3D amazing detail x-Rays. They warned us that some of them were NOT covered by our dental insurance. Like $165 as a matter of fact.
Conclusion is one tooth will get pulled by our regular dentist. And one molar will get saved by this nice specialist in April with some surgery. We went in to have one tooth looked at and the 3D x-ray showed just why Art was feeling something sore on that other molar.
Long story short…..these 2 procedures will use up all of Art’s annual dental allowance and THEN SOME!
There was a lady that was checking out while we were waiting to leave and her bill was $1600.00 for whatever she had done. She pulled out her credit card and didn’t say anything except THANK YOU as the staff handed her back her credit card! YIKES. This place must make a ton of money on these special cases.

Nancy, I still don’t understand how the 2 people had the Covid show up so late into the cruise. And did the ship really make an announcement stating their names or was it in a bulletin?

Bill: That’s really nice of Kevin to fly down and help you two get packed and to the airport.

It’s suppose to snow here on Friday. Nothing big deal, but it just all melted. Next week temps will be in the 40’s. Slowly we will move into Spring.

Okay, I’m still wide awake. Watching Court Cam. Amazing what happens when some of these people hear their sentences.

Be back later.

I wasn't sure I'd get on here this morning. It took four tries just to get the computer to come up. Each time I was getting an error message.

Turning on the news this morning I was again smacked with the cruelty and death Putin has his army and air force doing. It's as if all these war crimes he's promoting is a game to him. Somehow, some way, he needs to be stopped or removed. Hell, yesterday his military bombed a children's and maternity hospital.

I see with your font size and color changes, your computer has a mind of its' own too, Lee. One thing you can be sure of when you go out to eat is that you will never be low on your consumption of sodium.

Yes KC, it only takes our pets 6 weeks to train US. You almost need a 2 wheeled cart to move around those 5 gallon buckets of roofing tar. Be nice to your body today, it'll thank you tomorrow.

Oh you're going to have a very sleepy day, K2. At least you now know what awaits Art at the 2 dentists, soon. Ya hear any more tidbits of information about BB?

About today's gas prices, Nancy; Whatever you pay today will be a bargain in 2 weeks.

Not too many people can say that they have a "local alligator", Bill.

Grocery shopping this morning, for us. I wonder how much it'll cost us this week.

A muggy start to the morning. But once we’re home I bet I’ll miss it. Of course “home” started to rear it’s ugly head with a call from the oncologist’s office yesterday. They moved my appointment back one week and it will be a phone call. Really? A phone “visit“ for prostate issues.
Even eating out I try to make smart choices Dave. And I never shake salt on anything anymore. I noticed a lot of empty shelves at Publix yesterday. Their produce was terrible and again, no half & half.
I think you and Lu-Ann were channeling each other Kathie. She seemed to be awake a lot in the night. I’m amazed at what medical specialist charge. But look at the state of the art (no pun intended) equipment they need to stay on top of their field.
How are you feeling today Karen. I hope you actually did take a day off.
Hearing about the cases on your cruise Nancy made me wonder how many positive tests there may be this week from other passengers. Still, a lower number than I would have expected.
We were watching the original Miami Vice Bill and I thought of your “pet alligator”. Don Johnson’s character had a “pet” gator on his boat named “Elvis”. The gator was Elvis, not the boat. Just another useless piece of trivia. We did see the flooding at WDW the other night. Amazing!
Hmmm. Who will get home first. Pat or us?
Again, there are no words for the atrocities taking place in The Ukraine. And to what end?
Enjoy today to the best of your ability everyone!

Good morning. Well last night it started raining about 6:15 and when it finally stopped after 11 we got 4.83 inches, more than enough. Today I want to transplant the 3 new orchids I bought Monday at Trader Joe's.

The cases of Covid were announced in the morning by the Captain but no names given and yes I wonder how many new cases this week from those two.

I am trying to figure what to pack for the short weekend. Tomorrow temps in 80's, Saturday in 70's and Sunday 60's. We do have to come home on Sunday as Monday I have bloodwork first thing then eye Dr appt at noon.

Dave agreed about gas prices. At least I don't have to go anywhere everyday so a tank can last me for about a month normally. Bruce with his jobs a tank usually once a week.

All have a great day.

Good Morning Wabbits! I got to " Sleep in" until 8:15 a.m.
I ended up on the couch and put on one of those Music stations. I had it on "Soft Jazz" and
I must have finally dozed off. Art thought he chased me off with his leg spasms, but NOPE I just couldn't SHUT DOWN the BRAIN from all the days events.

DAVE: I haven't heard any more about PAT over on Facebook. Occasionally, she "Likes" a comment somebody posts, but for the most part she's MISSING IN ACTION. Hope the girl is
going to be alright. If she stays in the hospital OVER THE WEEKEND I see her having to go to REHAB again to get her WALKING muscles built up again. Not good going in so often. :smiley23:

Lee: Bummer on the PHONE call CHECK-UP from the Oncologist. I know you want them to be a little more through when it comes to that issue. You might want to call them when you get back home and insist on a IN OFFICE VISIT.

It reminds me of my yearly Heart Dr check-up. Made the appointment and asked if I would need blood work and the gal said NO. "The doctor will order it if she feels necessary". DUH. What will make that decision..... JUST LOOKING AT ME IN PERSON?? At least if you get bloodwork done you have something to talk about along with the EKG they will most likely do. All money related.

Okay on to a different subject: The RANKS we all have on here.

KC: 3rd Officer
Lee: 3rd Officer
Dave: 3rd Officer
Bill: Ordinary Seaman
K2: Wacky Wabbit
Nancy: Security Guard (Nice to know our Hutch has a guard) :clap002:
Pat: ?????

Lee: How are you and Lu-Ann wrapping up your last 2 days? Hope you get to float around in the pool a little. You won't be able to do that at home. I'm looking forward to your walks to Navy Park. Heck, I'm looking forward to crossing the border once it warms up and WALKING WITH YOU TWO at the park. You have a lot to show us!

KC: How was dinner at your Uncles? Beef & Noodles sounds yummy. Wishing them a safe trip back to Ohio when they leave.

Does the work at Barb's place include any kind of floor work? Her place has to be almost ALL refinished with all the work you've done over there. Just pray she doesn't want to move any time soon!
So tell us: YOU aren't planning on doing that roof yourself are you? Just hate to see you trying to bring up that roofing sealant yourself. Remember you only have one BACK and it's not 40 yrs old anymore.

Nancy: It sounds like you like flowers. You'll have to post a picture when they're all in bloom.
Daffodils are just starting to POKE up from a long Winters break in Art's garden by the creek. On Friday around Midnite they will get covered by a few inches of SNOW. Poor things. But they are hardy.

I'll be planting A LOT LESS annuals this year. I can't wait to see how expensive "flats" of Inpatient's will be this year.
My daughter asked me what I wanted for my Birthday and I always say "NOTHING", but this year I said (1) Flat of Annuals would be a perfect gift.

I'm debating whether to go grocery shopping later today or wait until tomorrow (Friday). You get double points towards FUEL REWARDS. I need every point I can get with the prices going up so FAST every day. So far even with Fuel Rewards Costco's prices are cheaper by $.40 cents.

Okay, gang I'm off to wash the kitchen floor. It doesn't wash itself! Ha Ha.

Shouldn't my job title be: Extraordinary Seaman?
We apparently missed the heavy rainfall of last night by just a dozen or so miles, but we got plenty of flash flood warnings on TV for the Florida counties just south of us.
So far I haven't had a problem finding half and half at our local Publix, Lee, and there seems to be plenty of other inventory and only a few empty shelves.
Hard to believe that we will be heading home in about three weeks. Based on past experience, we will still encounter less than pleasant Spring weather when we arrive. (April clearly is the "cruelest month". Daylight Savings Time arrives this weekend and St. Patrick's Day is next week.

Ya Kathie, I looked on the interweb at that u-tube thing for do it yourself prostate exam. I think they’re a little behind because I couldn’t seem to put my finger on what I was looking for…
They’re talking dropping the stupid tests for fully vaccinated travellers to enter Canada. Then we can show you and Art our little town.
We’re doing as much laundry as we can before we pack stuff tomorrow. Better to use the water here than at home. A little tradition I guess but we have always visited The Springs on the morning before we leave so that’s what’s on tap for tomorrow.
Geez, I hope you all had a fantastic Thursday.

Just checking in to say Hi....it's been a long frustrating day...I went to Lowes to pick up the shower base for Barb's & it was slightly damaged...I thought we could touch it up & make it work fine and got them to give me a discount...when I showed it to Barb she got upset about installing a damaged product...and after looking at it closer it was a little worse than I'd noticed in the store...mainly a crack & some chipped paint...I was able to find the same size base at Home Depot in Gainesville about 45 mins. away...so off we went....it was pouring rain on our way up & traffic was bumper to bumper stop & go on I-75...turns out there was a bad accident just north of Ocala...and Mini van had crashed thru the guardrail & looked like it had flipped or rolled several times....coming to rest against a tree facing the opposite direction it had been traveling...very sad sight to see...if they survived the Good Lord surely was riding with them!
Checked out the new base at Home Depot & it was in fine condition so we now have everything on hand for the bath remodel except for the wall paint that Barb still has to decide on...
Kathie, you asked about me doing the work on the roof...No Way!! The only thing I am doing on this project is painting the walls & beadboard wainscotting ...the contractor is doing everything else...including installing water proof LVP..(luxury vinyl plank)....it is a tan/grey woodlook that I think will look really nice when it's finished..
I did take Barb out for lunch as a Thank you for driving her van to Gainesville so I didn't have to make the trip alone...
Now I am just going to kick back & relax!! Catch up with you all tomorrow!

Karen that was some day you had. Glad you found a base that will work. Glad you exchanged it. Once Barb and anybody else would stand on the base it could very well crack even more and leak.
Jill & Mark have a shower like Barb’s in their basement. And because the cement base stuff wasn’t spread evenly when Eric started using the shower it cracked from his weight. And Eric is by no means heavy. Make sure the contractor puts enough MUD ON THE FLOOR so it doesn’t to Barbs shower.

Gotta get off here.

Time to pick your Bunny brains. Kathi wants me to ask you if you know of any pastry that is connected to Saint Patrick's Day. I have no clue, other than to ice something green.
