Kathie - So sorry to hear the news about your SIL. Things happen so fast and everything changes. Our sympathy to your whole family.
Bert just let me know yesterday that my teaching assistant and close friend of about 30 years passed away on Sunday. He delayed telling me knowing how upset I'd be. It was even rougher to deal with as the day she passed was their 57th wedding anniversary. As you say - It's always something.

Kathie, so sorry to hear about your SIL...thoughts & prayers going out to both you & Art....

Pat, you sure have had a roller coaster medical experience this year...hopefully they finally have a handle on what is going on & can get it under control!

I think the mouse for my computer has died...I thought it was the battery but 3 battery changes later it still isn't working...and I never did like using the scroll pad on the laptop...
We had a bit of excitement here in Ocala this morning as a tornado touched down on the SE side of town...near Sam's club, which only Pat will know where that is...2 semi's on the interstate ended up tipped over....as far as I know there were no serious injuries...which is amazing after seeing some of the pictures...

A very quick check in from Smyrna, GA. Thanks for all your good wishes for our journey.
We were a little later starting off than usual. Monitoring the radar it looked like HEAVY rain. They were right. Thanks to a tractor trailer “crash” in Ocala that seemed to be caused by Karen’s tornado we sat on I75. It added about 3 hours to the day. I used the express lanes in Atlanta and cut up 275. Totally missed the ever present mess on I75 through Atlanta.
One positive was finding a station on the FM dial that played a lot of really good 70’s and 80’s tunes. Hardly a commercial either.
Temps you say? It was the mid 70’s in Kissimmee when we pulled out. It’s 30F here right now.
Pat, I’m glad you’re home but sorry to hear about your test results. You should have studied harder for the test instead of frolicking on that cruise. ;) Will they put you on a statin? That’s my before bed pill.
So sorry to read about your loss Kathie. Frustrating for everyone that at this point the cause is not known. I think that you should have a fantastic birthday! Celebrate for those who aren’t around to celebrate their own day!
Hope fully tomorrow will be a better travel day. We have Covid tests scheduled at Walgreens in Lexington. They say results in 24 hours. As a backup we will stop in Monroe, MI at the Welcome Centre on Monday where they say results are turned around in an hour or less. I guess we’ll see.
Good night and extra thoughts and prayers going out to all of you.

Happy to see that you are finally home BB, but sad to read about your heart problem. (Like you didn't have enough problems.) Sucks that you feel that you can no longer go on cruises. It was neat the way you posted in 3 stages. It would have sucked if all of it was on one post, and it went POOF.

Happy belated birthday, K2. Saddened that your Sister In Law passed on the same day. As you say, "Always Something".

Question for you KC; With no basement, where would you go if a tornado was headed your way?

Nice to see that you are making progress on your trip, Lee. Please tell me that you've taken off those sandals.

I have no idea what weather you'll run into as you pass through the Ohio. All sorts of short lived weather fronts are passing through the State. Heck, we had more snow here last night. We may get a little bit more around noon today.

Hi to all the rest of you Bunnies.

Enough of changing our clocks every 6 months. It's just a nuisance.

Thoughts and good wishes for the Ukrainian people.

LEE & LU-ANN and pups..... please be careful driving today. You might hit all kinds of different weather as you work your way up NORTH. Take care and don't rush it. Sorry you had such delays Saturday.

Dont Forget Time Change GIF by Sarah The Palmer
Good Morning Wrabbits. Almost all the clocks were at the "new time" this morning. The kitchen phone which has batteries in the handset did not change by itself and we thought that the bedroom alarm clocks would change by themselves and they didn't. Why do they have a button that says DLS if I had to change it myself. Oh well, it's not a big deal I got it done now. And in my mind it's STiLL ONE HOUR EARLIER. Ha Ha.

Thanks gang for all the thoughts about us losing our dear Sister-in-law. What a shock. I just hope her sister pulls through this and will be able to tell the family what she thinks happened. I hope her Kidney percentages get better. Since Jill worked with Kidney patients for 25 yrs she said it's not good when your kidney issues go that low. Time will tell how she's doing.

Now about that SNOW DAVE was talking about. It's snowing and STICKING to the ground as I am typing. Must have started in the middle of the night. 15F right now here. Last night it was 10F with windchills that must have made it 5F. It was freezing cold when we left to come home from Jill's after our nice dinner out at a REAL RESTAURANT. The food was yummy.

DAVE: NICE SONG. It's a OLDIE but GOODIE for sure. I remember that one from way back when.

KAREN: YIKES that was way too scary having a Tornado drop down in Ocala. Hope you and your sisters are alright. I saw pictures of the people running off the beaches on Longboat Key yesterday when a Water Spout or funnel came on the sand. Some one in one of the condos filmed it all while it was happening. Screams and sand and water blowing all over the place. This years weather has really be crazy everywhere.

Bill: The EAST COAST is getting hit hard with some kind of BOMB STORM. It's a little North of where you live, but until it actually is over who knows where it will hit. Glad you're down in Flordia, but coming home in a few weeks is going to be quite a change. But just like here in Detroit/Metro area we are supposed to get up into the 67F degrees next Thursday. :clap002:

Nancy: Not sure how when you are coming home from the service, but hope all went as well as it could. Never easy going to these memorials.

PAT: How are you feeling today? Sorry to hear about your close friend passing. Seems like we get more and more of that kind of news as we get older. It's life, but I hate hearing it.
Hope you got a good nights sleep. I hope that Bert got some rest too. All this stress isn't any good for Bert or you. Take care.

I'm off to get a cup of coffee and a Biscotti.

I was going to venture to church today for our dear priest LAST SERVICE, but if I haven't gone in 2 years, I'm not going to drive 25 miles in the snow. I said my Good-byes the other day when I delivered the Afghan to his house. Him and his lovely wife are on the road Monday morning to Fort Myers Beach area. A parishioner gave them use of their condo so he can start his RETIREMENT and UNSTRESS. It's nice that people do that when they have something just sitting there empty.

Later gang. Those silly balloons that the kids put all over the front of the house ARE STILL FULL OF AIR THIS MORNING. Amazing. Must be some kind of good Helium or they're frozen in place. It looks festive with the white snow around them.

BE SAFE ALL.

Lee: Monroe, MI is about a 1 hr and 25 mins from our house. If the weather wasn't as it is (snowing) and gas wasn't $4.50 a gallon we'd attempt to drive down to meet you at the place you're getting your Covid testing done. Just not the right conditions. Bummer. Take care, you're almost back into your country. I can just imagine how the pups feel at rest stops as you travel further North....... "Hey Dad, what's with this COLD WEATHER"? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: To safe and check in when you get home tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone! It sure feels good to be able to say that once again. :) The rest of the house is all still asleep and are showing no sign of waking up. Too bad, as I could use a cup of tea or coffee to jump start my system. LOL

Lee - Sorry about the delay yesterday due to the weather. I hope today moves along as it is supposed to. I'm sure at this point, you are all eager to get settled in back home.

Dave - I can answer your question about whst do you do when you don't have a basement and there's a tornado. You find a secure (?) inside space, like the bathroom or laundry room and hunker down as best you can and pray for a good outcome. Schools do an annual tornado drill in all the schools. There you get down on your hands & knees, face away from windows, cover your head with your arms and , as we used to say, prepare to kiss your a$$ goodbye!!
We were once in the Grille when a watre spout came across Lake Toho. We managed to get as many people as possible into the Grill kitchen. When it was all over, tables & chairs had been thrown all over. At that time the Grill was not closed in, so it was easy pickings for a storm.

Kathie - Hoping today will be a peaseful day for you. Glad your family dinner went well, inspite of it being a very difficult time.

Time to stop typing for a while as my meds are making me dizzy. I'll be back later

This is what I posted on Facebook yesterday: "Home from the service for nephew. Many of Jason's friends where there. One guy drove all the way from Panama City to be there. You know he was well loved. . Service was low keyed and done by an old friend of Jason's, so some of it was his remembering things the two off them had done together as kids. Chris is assistant pastor at the church and he had called Bill and Norma that he really wanted to hold the service at his church and he listened to what they wanted and did not want. My brother told me that some of the people there he had not seen in 20 or 30 years and it felt so good to see them again." Jason worked from home selling insurance and his boss in OK was flying in but one leg of her flight was canceled so she started driving at 11 pm but she did not make it to the service or memories and food. She will go to Bill and Norma's house today. She will help Norma with what needs to be done to set up a trust fund for Jason's youngest daughter, Farrah is 15 so he named Norma on the life insurance to be sure that the money gets to Farrah. During the service Farrah got up and talked a bit, short but from her heart.

We brought home the fruit tray and some of the large sheet cake that had been brought.

Today we will
take Jennifer to BJ's so she can get things for Max's birthday party, then head home. I have bloodwork first thing in the morning and then an eye Dr appt.

Pat glad you are home and hope the meds do the job.

Lee, hope today's drive is a good one with no problems.

All have a great day.

Pat, sorry to hear of your health issues but glad you enjoyed your cruise and even more glad that you are finally back home.
Nancy, the Ft. Pierce restaurant I was referring to is Dino's Family Restaurant on Rte 1 in North Ft. Pierce. Rita and I were there the other night and it was already decorated for St. Patrick's Day. If my hernia surgery goes as expected and I am up for the ride, we will likely head there on the 17th.
I don't know why, but I have been assuming that we didn't have any premium channels on the TVs in the condo. Last night I discovered we have, at the very least, HBO and we watched the Steven Spielberg production of West Side Story.
Will have to check later to see what other gems we have been missing while we have been here.
How many of you, today, have thought: Well it is 10:00 am but it Is really 9:00 am or some version of that? I know we are supposed to get that lost hour of sleep back in the Fall, but it never seems to work out that way.
Yesterday was much cooler than we have been experiencing and there was a brief period of driving rain but today is bright and sunny and the kind of day we come to Florida to experience.
Hope that Lee and LuAnn are having a smooth and uneventful ride north.

OK Mom and Dad, you can rest easy. We’re at LaQuinta in Lexington before the street lights went on. And we’ve finished dinner and a glass of wine.
Travel today was excellent! Sunny skies that were melting the snow in GA and KY. Yep, you read that right. We got into Lexington about 40 minutes ahead of schedule and went to Walgreens for our covid tests. The young lady at the drive through took us ahead of our appointment times. Within 30 minutes we had emails that we had tested negative. One less stop in Monroe tomorrow. ArriveCan app is completed so hopefully we can breeze through the border. I guess I’ve jinxed that, haven’t I.
Fuel in GA and KY can be had for under $4.00. $3.99.9, but under $4.00.

How many of you, today, have thought: Well it is 10:00 am but it Is really 9:00 am or some version of that?
Yep Bill, count us in on that thought!
Farrah must be a very strong young lady Nancy. I admire anyone who can get up at a parents, childs or siblings memorial service and keep it together.

There you get down on your hands & knees, face away from windows, cover your head with your arms and , as we used to say, prepare to kiss your a$$ goodbye!!
Didn’t that used to be called “duck and cover” Pat.
as my meds are making me dizzy.
Anybody else hear a smart a$$ed comment from Tony? I’m pretty sure I did.
Another song for our beloved Momma Bunny…

A good call to be safe and not try to get to church Kathie. If you were going to the Monroe Welcome Center to see us you wouldn’t be home if we headed to your place to seek refuge from the storm. ;)

The sandals are off. But the black knee socks remain. Get that picture out of your mind Dave. I can’t say I’ve ever heard that tune. Thank You.
Nearing 7:00. And the pups need their 7:00 rest break. So, we’ll check in tomorrow from home. Yes, I already have a song in mind for that too.
I did mention that I hate the mysterious size and colour change, didn’t I.

Lee: Thanks for checking in with us. Helps calm my nerves.
Glad the drive today (Sun) went smoothly. And the testing too. I must say you have it together Buddy!
And I happen to remember hearing both Dave’s video song and yours too. You guys amaze me with how to match the songs up to our conversations.

I too think that Tony is READING ALONG with all of our postings on here.

The snow that hit us earlier this morning and through Noonish has melted. Lord only knows what it will bring is tomorrow. By Thursday Lee can wear his shorts to the Navy Yard Park and people will admire his tan legs! Ha ha.

I made a big batch of Beef Barley veggie soup. It was really good. The rest of it gets frozen for a quick meal a other day.

It’s really 7:03 pm and not 8:OO pm. Ha ha. I’ll stop doing that tomorrow.

Pat: Hope you are doing okay over your way. Just take it easy lady.

Nite all.

As I type; Watching, but mostly listening to, a Carole King & James Taylor documentary that I recorded recently. Most of it was footage of the both of them at a concert. There is something wrong with you if their music doesn't mellow you out.

I had watched it a couple of times already, but I wanted to see it again before our TV service erases it. It only lets you keep recorded shows for 90 days.

After all that you bunnies have gone through in the past couple of weeks, we all need some calmness, no new crisis popping up, and time to mellow out a bit.

Wishing you all a nice calm & relaxing week.

Good morning, gang! Still very quiet around here as both Bert & Gary are still sleeping. The rest of Gary's crew are over in Melbourne so Elaine can meet with the contractor to go over the renovations planned for their new place. Reno may take 6 to 8 months, but they will be moving over to that area once school gets out. You know what that will mean? WE WILL GET OUR HOUSE BACK!!!!!!

Lee - Glad you're making good time going home and that you passes your covid test. I'm sure you'll all be eager to get back to your own bed again.

I definitely remember the song Dizzy and is perfect for right now. I bet Tony is finding this all quite amusing.

Might take a ride this afternoon with Bert to BJ's, but I will stay in the car while he picks up what I want.

That's about all I've got for this morning. I'll try to stop back later to see what you're all up to.

Good morning.

Yes, Farrah is a very strong person, she had my brother take her to the medical examiners office the day they found Jason and insisted that she be able to see her Dad and she did.

I thought that Dino's was the
restaurant, we have only been there once but did like it, it is just not an easy drive for us to get there.

Had my bloodwork done this morning and for the first time in years the blood was taken from the elbow and she found the vein first try. Both she and I said it has to be because of the weight I have lost. This afternoon I have an eye Dr appt.

Will be making a tomato, cucumber and onion salad in a bit. The onion will be a mix of regular sweet strawberry and red sweet strawberry, first I have ever seen the red sweet so had to buy two. We also bought a flat of
strawberries, at $9.99 we had to. Whenever we go to Tampa we stop at a particular fruit/veggie stand as they have a very nice selection and good prices.

All have a great day.

Good Morning Wrabbits. 38F and sunny. It's suppose to keep getting warmer and by Thursday be in the 65F degree area if not higher. I'll believe when it happens.

My balloons out front are for the most part still standing up. Amazing. Jill said it's not Helium in them. They blew them up at home! WOW. Lots of good air in those lungs! Ha Ha

Still waiting to hear about my SIL's sister that is still in Intensive Care. Like most hospitals you don't get much information on weekends. I pray for the BOYS sake that she recovers and will be okay. How she will live without her sister is beyond me. They were like GLUE and lived together for decades.

Nancy: Your Farrah is more than a brave young lady to go through all she has in such a young life. Who will she be living with now?
Glad you got some fresh strawberries. I want to know more about the RED Strawberry Onion?? Did I read that right??

PAT: It won't be long before you can get your house back. I suggest CHANGING the LOCKS once G&E move out so NOBODY ELSE pops over and moves in. LOL :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee & Lu-Ann we should be hearing from you two soon. Hope the crossing from USA to Canada went smoothly.

I hope one of your neighbor friends turned on the HEAT in your house for you. I'm sure you made plans for somebody that is watching your house to do just that for you.
I'm glad you got to go on vacation and now it's time to get ready to mow the lawn soon and do all those HONEY-DOO jobs Lu-Ann has in the back of her mind for you! Yup.... vacation time is over for this year!

Karen: I saw pictures on the news of all the Water Spouts and Tornados in and around the Gulf and Ocala. Glad you and your sisters didn't have any damage. Crazy season for sure this year.

DAVE: Always love that song on the video you posted. James Taylor's songs are the best. They don't sing them like that anymore. You can always go to YouTube and bring up any songs and videos once it get erased.

I don't have anything more for you folks. Today is going to be a reflective day.
Tomorrow Art gets his tooth pulled, Wednesday he goes to the eye doctor.
ALWAYS SOMETHING!

Be safe gang and enjoy every minute that life has to offer!

Farrah lives with her Mother and so does Bode-Rose. For a few years Jason and Amy fought hard against each other over Farrah and sister Bode-Rose. But the last few years they have gotten along very well. In fact Amy did a lot of work in setting up food and other things for the service. When ever it was Jason's weekend or week the girls would go to my brother's house as Jason always lived in a one bedroom place so really did not have room for them but they would do things all the time.

Told you I'd have a tune. None other than by Canadian Crooner Michael Buble.
Based on the weather this year we are going to Michigan and Ohio next year. Sorry Belles, but FL just wasn't very hospitable. ;)
I did wave at Carl and Marcia as we passed the Hamilton, OH exit. Marcia really like Michael Bubble too.
The trip home was top notch! We stopped in Perrysburg, OH walked the pups, got fuel and some groceries. No delay at the border. The young lady in the booth greeted us, I handed her our passports, ArriveCan code, flashed our Walgreens test results and we were on our way. All of the stuff is put away and we're settling in to a nice Coffee...
I hope that our friends plans to get tested in Monroe doesn't backfire on them Kathie. Like you said it's only about 30 minutes to the border. We timed it when we passed by today. Yes, our friends had set the furnace and turned the water back on. They truly are fine people.
How can you not like James Taylor and or Carol King Dave! Sadly the content of your video is not available in "my viewing area". I was going to share JT's version of Up on the Roof for Karen but decided to go a little further back in time.

but it's too much for just the 3 of us.
I like pi Pat. Again, just sayin'.

I like tomato, cucumber and onion salad Nancy. Again, just sayin'.
I see that a lot of Tom Brady fans are rejoicing. His retirements are getting as frequent as Cher's "final tours".
Seems no matter where we are, these pups know what time it is, And indeed it is time to go foe a short walk.

So happy to see you're home, safe and sound, Lee. You lucked out with a real quick cross over the border, and your friends having the water turned back on and the furnace turned up. I didn't know Michael Buble was Canadian. As far as Tom Brady's UN-retirement, I bet ya that money was involved.

My goodness BB, how will you ever survive no squatters in your house. You're going to have to take in some homeless people.
1f601.png

Nancy; Can't say I've ever had blood taken from my elbow. Or did you mean the inside of the elbow? Yes it is tougher to find veins on "hefty" individuals.

Lots of luck for Art today, getting his tooth pulled, K2. Sure you're all numbed up but it is still a creepy feeling. Especially if there is any crunching sounds involved. They said on the Cleveland news that this may the warmest Saint Patrick's Day we've had in 10 years.

Today when I get off of the treadmill, I may continue working on "Franklin". He's the frog statue that's about 3 feet tall, and dressed as a sever in a suit holding a tray. The weather hasn't been too kind to him in the last few years. Although he always spends the winters in the basement. Need to do some cleanup, scraping, painting, and weather-coating to him.
