Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hmmm. A quiet day here.
I know. Everyone is at the cruise ship docks to welcome The Cruzin’ Bunnies home.
We are headed to The Magic Kingdom tonight to see the castle decked out in all her 50th anniversary makeover and watch the fire works.
We’ll see everyone in the morning.

Coffee Day GIF by leeamerica
Coffee for everyone that wants it in the morning.

I got the HUTCH all cleaned up for the Cruisers that will be coming back soon. I found some weird left-over breakfast food close to Dave's space. The man sure does eat some strange stuff. LOL

Lee: Hope the 50th Anniv fireworks were spectacular. You're going to miss all those trips to Disney.
Did you track how many miles you put on going back and forth?

Sunday we are supposed to get up to 60F and horrible WINDS to go with it. Can't have it all I guess. Monday we get 35F.
We're going to meet up with my former friends from where I last worked for a early breakfast on Monday. We get to pick up one of the fellas that is living in a really nice Sr facility. It's right on our way up 24 Mile Rd. Hope his walker fits in the back of the car! His wife passed about 1.5 yrs ago and he sold his colonial home and moved into this nice new place. I'd hate to think what he's paying for it, but I'm happy for him.

SAD DAY FOR ME and my family. Today I found out that our dear priest that has been in our parish for 34 yrs is retiring. This was supposed to transition a little slower, but the new PAIN IN THE BUTT priest is driving him crazy and he asked the Metropolitan to be released of his duties earlier. The things I was made aware of today about the new guy make me sick. Greedy little SOB. Wants more money, a bigger place to live and more expense money. The 34 yr old kid is so into himself it's crazy. Oh well, I think after 70 some years I might have to make some big decisions about my church life. Just something I never ever thought I would have to do. I could tell you lots more, but why bore you. I can see why some people just don't go to church. DUH!

I made Pecan Sandie cookies today and they were good, but I think they needed some more crushed pecans in the dough. Of course, Mr Art said they were just fine. The man eats anything sweet.

Out of here for now. I just got through typing out a letter to the priest and his wife to put with the AFHGAN I am giving them both. I thought he wasn't retiring until JUNE, but unfortunately it happened earlier. His last Sunday service will be March 13th. His last official day is March 14th. They are flying to Ft Myers to REST at a parishioner's condo that was offered to them. They'll need it. This has been a ugly week for the both of them.
ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Night gang. Be safe and enjoy your Sunday.

Thoughts, best wishes and hope for the Ukrainian people. How horrendous it is to see another country trying to destroy yours.

Thanks for explaining that "Old Key West Resort", Lee. I'd bet that music they play in the background is to your liking. As it would be to me. Fireworks displays at Disney World are always fantastic.

Hot wings for breakfast is not weird, K2.
1f61b.png
No nap for you yesterday? That new young priest sounds like an egotistical pain in the butt. He hasn't been there long enough, or proved himself, to be making such demands. And you are not boring us with more details of this little jerk.

Here's one for you KC; Our dog groomer let Kathi know that there is a weaner-dog up for adoption, And it's name is......."KC". No joke.

Speaking of pets, The son of Kathi's that has 6 kids, with another one due in May, plus 3 dogs, now wants to start breeding Basset Hounds. Geesh!

Our weather too will be very windy but in the mid 60's today.

Good morning.
A late night last night for us. The 50th Anniversary Fireworks were beautiful.
Oddly enough as I was watching skies light up listening to the exploding fireworks my mind went to The Ukraine. Here I, and many others, stood watching, laughing and cheering. Half a world away people were seeing bright flashes, hearing the explosions and trying to stay safe. Funny how my mind sometimes works. And it certainly made me appreciate and be grateful for everything I, indeed we, all have.

It seems like the new priest came into your Parrish with a bigger plan than anyone may have realized Kathie. He may drive people from the church which is not what The Metropolitan would want.
We do like the themed resorts and hotels at WDW Dave. Being “The Mouse“ no detail is left out to immerse you into the area.
I’m going to toddle off for now. We have lunch booked at Enzo’s Hideaway in Disney Springs. Themed after a ”speak easy” tucked behind thick doors under one of the bridges. We’re looking forward to it.
Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
I sure hope all of our cruisers get their land legs as they come ashore.

Good morning....

Dave, so are you & Kathi going to be hearing the pitter patter of little KC's feet soon? :) On the bright side if Kathi's son starts breeding dogs maybe they will slow down on breeding kids? Probably not though...

Kathie, what a shame the new young priest has come in & wrecked havoc on your church & priest....I don't imagine the power's that be will be to happy when he run's off a majority of long time members & donations hit bottom...

Lee, sounds like a fun brunch adventure you have planned for today! Did you take that picture of the fireworks? If so, you are quite the photographer, it looks amazing!

Nothing much going on here....Jane is coming over later today for me to do her taxes & then have lunch...

Welcome back to all our cruisers...hope you had a great time & can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Sitting out by the pool enjoying another coffee before we head over to The Springs and Enzo’s.
I do have to take credit for the photo Karen. I got number of pretty good shots last night. More luck than skill I’m afraid. It’s hard to not want to take more but I also wanted to enjoy the show and music too! It sounds like you have a nice, laid back day planned too.
Hmmm. A whole bunch of “screamers” as Dave refers to them. Throw in some puppies. Might as well add candy and sugar to the mix. What could possibly go wrong there?
Time to walk Katie and Ava before we head off.
See you all later.

Good WINDY as all get out from PURE MICHIGAN. 58F Tomorrow will 34F. Go figure.

Dave: Where do all those SCREAMERS SLEEP. How do they afford to feed that many mouths? I feel the pinch here when buying groceries every week. (not too mention the shelves are getting less stocked every week) Is the END COMING and somebody forgot to tell CNN, MSN, etc to report it!
the end sun GIF

Now about this little Wiener dog. Make sure you check with FuzzButt first before even thinking about taking on more responsibilities. Think of double the Poop Mines in the yard! Ha Ha

Lee:
Excellent fireworks picture.
Nice analogy to what the Ukraine's are dealing with.
Enjoy your day under the bridge at Enzo’s Hideaway in Disney Springs! Sounds like fun. Take a picture or two of the area. Sounds mysterious. How do you find all these places?

Hopefully, the last RANT about my church issues. Can you tell I'm pissed-off big time! Ha Ha.
The problem with the Serbs in our church is that they are 3rd and even 4th generation members. When you've been in the same place for 7-8 decades it's hard to pull up and leave because some new Whipper Snapper thinks he's going to rob you blind. Most of us won't stop coming INTO the church, but you can bet a good many of us, (yes me too) will stop funding with $$$ greenbacks as we normally do.

I'm planning on writing to the Metro and letting him know just what I think of his new little TWERP he sent to our parish. Not that it will do me much good. Need to talk with the outgoing priest first. Just not the right time now. He's got way too much going on to have me add to it. The TWERP has his nose so far up .... well you know.... that it's brownish/black already. They're buddies. It's all about MONEY these days. They go through the motions, say a few prayers and then put out their hand for $$$$. They go around blessing parishioner's homes that are HUGE and beautiful and cost a fortune and are in exclusive areas (not to mention most have Florida property in Naples) and those priests think they should be living the same way. Work harder and get another vocation and sure you can have it too!

I typed a nice letter and wrapped the Afghan up nicely and even found one of those HUGE gift bags to put it in at a former Dollar Tree store. Now a $1.25 store. Ha Ha.
I plan on giving it to our priest next Sunday when I ACTUALLY go to church for the 1st time in 2 yrs. It's time. I'll still have my mask on as I sing in choir. And I'll get ALL kinds of looks, but I have broad shoulders and won't let that bother me. My LIFE, MY MASK! Ha Ha.

Enough about that! I've been hanging my laundry here a tad too much lately. Sorry

So this is "FORGIVENESS WEEK" during Lent.
So I'm asking all of you to
FORGIVE ME if I've spoken out of line to you.

Off to roll out the dough I made yesterday for those Italian Fig Cookies I'm making.
The Pecan Sandies turned out pretty decent. Need more pecans in the dough, but nice with coffee. They're a crunchy shortbread type cookie. I'm going to be taking most of them to my nephew who had a total hip replacement a week ago Friday. He's doing just great. He can't believe how well he can walk around the house in just a week. Hardest thing is using the bathroom! :icon rolleyes:

Karen: Hope you're doing good over there. Any aches or pains from moving that shower around? Hope not.

Later gang.

Back from lunch. The food was good. The service, for once, NOT. The host seated us. The waitress poured a glass of water and took our order. Except for her back as she stood by the kitchen that was the last we saw of her until time for the cheque and to hope everything was good etc. Her tip reflected her service. And she’ll wonder why…A young man, the server, brought out our food, did the cheese, topped up water and was very pleasant. Oh well. The food was good.
No need ever to ask forgiveness here Kathie. I think this group is always here for each other. To share highs, lows or be an ear as needed. Like my lunch post.
At 84 sunny degrees this guy is headed to the pool.
Take care folks.

The Devil, Putin, is showing that he is capable of any kind of cruelty to conquer Ukraine. Bless the people and country of Ukraine.
---------------------------------------
Good golly Miss Molly, we actually got to 74 degrees yesterday. BUT at the moment it's 40.

"Dave, so are you & Kathi going to be hearing the pitter patter of little KC's feet soon?" I'll give you my long and complicated answer to your question, KC. NO!

Great picture of the fireworks, Lee. But I'm glad that you put the camera down and enjoyed the moment. So many people don't. I'm interested in knowing more about this "speak easy".

Where do the "screamers" sleep, you asked K2. They have a 4 bedroom house, but it still requires doubling up. Out of their hearing, we refer to it as the "zoo". The dad has a good income but that family is screwed if the father gets hurt or seriously ill because he is their only source of income. Never a need to forgive you young lady. We all vent from time to time. And that guy IS a TWERP.

Since I often ponder philosophical things at this hour, here's a question for you. On real cold days you can see the steam from your breath. But when you fart, do you also leave a trail of steam?
1f914.png
:emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

That’s a stinky thought this early in the morning Dave. I found it interesting in that it came after using the word “vent”.
We find we take fewer photos the more we come back to this area. Case and point yesterday. Lu-Ann had been there on one of her girls shopping days. I try desperately to keep my phone (camera) in my pocket during meals so, basically, forgot to take pictures!
Katie wants to go for her walk now. Ava and I were out at 5:30 for a nice half hour wander.
I’ll check back later but in the meanwhile, everyone have a great day.
And no long faces from the gang who has been at sea for a week!

Ugly little critters those armadillos. Katie and I spotted one on our short walk digging up someone’s front yard.
Lu-Ann and I went for a walk after that. Before 8:00 I had walked over 5K. I like to think of it as training for next year’s 10K Disney run.
So cruisers, do you still leave towels that you would like to have replaced on the floor? Get that habit out of your systems! It simply means you have to bend further to pick it up! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Again, welcome home cruisers. The question we are all asking is “What did you bring us?”
Stories of your adventures at sea will be gladly accepted.

Cruise has ended and we are back to reality. Went out to dinner at a local restaurant last night and at the end of the meal the waiter presented us with a bill (definite proof that we were no longer on a cruise, Debarkation went smoothly and our entire group was off the ship before 9 am. Our shuttle arrived shortly afterwards and took all of the group except for Rita and me to the airport and then took us to the hotel where we had left our car. The drive back to Vero was uneventful with only a brief rest stop and a stop to get gas ($4.09) at a station in Ft. Pierce that usually has the cheapest prices. Strangely enough the stations in Vero Beach were asking $3.99 and $3.97. MPG on the Prius has improved and is now around 45mpg so the tankful should last a while. Who knows what the price will have risen to by the time we need to gas up again.
Cruise was great and every time I saw one of the people in our group they were wearing big smiles so I guess they all had the same opinion.
Have a pre-op meeting at the hospital tomorrow morning and my hernia operation is scheduled for a week from tomorrow. It is an out-patient procedure and I should be back here the same day and recovery time is supposed to be brief.

Welcome back to dry land Bill. It does sound like you and your friends all had a good time. Hopefully your pre-op and subsequent procedure go better than planned.
Now, I have heard through Lu-Ann and Facebook that our Momma Bunny is back in hospital following her cruise. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious...

Hi gang.

YUP……Pat is back in the hospital. Wonder how she was on the ship? Hope she will be treated and get back home soon.
We will just have to wait until she posts on this board to hear what’s going on.

Lee: Nice miles on those walks. Keep up the good work. So glad you’re using that nice WARM POOL! Only a few days left, so I’d be staying in that pool all day and skip the Disney area. NO POOL AT HOME! We had some snow flurries this afternoon and now the sun is out. Never know what to expect.

Went to the breakfast get-together. It was great. Worst part was a cup of “endless COFFEE” was $4 bucks. Wow. It was some type of Coffee from Belgium. Douwe Egberts. It’s a liquid coffee that needs a special brewing system. Prices are out of sight. Simple breakfast for 2 with a 6 buck tip = $38 bucks. Crazy. Ask me if this group will go there again anytime soon. Nope! Good thing I’m not a big breakfast person!

After Breakfast Meet Up we drove Ted back to his Senior living place. He took us on a tour of this UNBELIEVABLE PLACE. It was like being in a First class hotel. Like he said for what people pay to be live in this place there is no RIFF- Raff in there. Ha ha. His apartment is 2 bedroom, full kitchen, full size washer dryer (side by side) 2 bathrooms with roll-in no step up showers. A balcony to sit out on when it’s nice outside. Lordy, what a way to spend your retirement money. Art said we could MAYBE live there for
1 YEAR. HA HA. IT WAS NICE. IT LACKED ONE THING….a pool!

We got home and my friend Marie from up on 24 Mile Rd stopped by to give us a Banana Loaf. Nice visit. We had stopped by her house on our way home from breakfast and dropped off a sampling of the cookies I made yesterday For her and George. Too funny how we made exchanges of sweets on the same day.

Bill: Good to know you all had a good cruise and you both made it back to Vero. Now to enjoy relaxing and getting some sun by the pool area.
Is your MAIL coming on a more regular basis?

It just got gloomy over here. Might get rain or snow. They’re calling for one or the other. Wind is picking up too.

Dave: Good to know that KC will not be moving in on FuzzButts turf. And glad that the Dad of the ZOO makes a god living to support all those kids. I bet they will be moving into a bigger house if they continue to populate like bunnies! Ha ha.

KC: What’s happening over your way?

Out of here for now.

Good evening....I wonder what kind of Valet Service Pat is getting at that Hospital...it must be pretty awesome since she is such a loyal repeat customer....Hope you feel better soon Pat!!

Bill, welcome home! Sounds like a grand time was had by all of your group....always nice when things go well when traveling with family!

Kathie, you have had quite the assortment of weather today...almost sounds like some we have lately...foggy, damp & cool in the morning...roasting hot in the afternoon...if only the pool would hurry up & get warm I'd be a happy camper!!

Dave, I thought for sure Kathi would be trying to sweet talk you into another 4 legged little bundle of joy....maybe she's just waiting to lull you into a false sense of security...:D

Lee, you are correct about Armadillo's being a pain in the tush! They eat grubs & bugs which is great...but they leave big ole holes in your yard which is not so great...

Today was my pre-op visit for my cataract surgery..the doctor said everything looked good & it's scheduled for the 13th of April....he was going to do it sooner, but I want to get Barb's bath remodel out of the way before I have the surgery. With this doctor I have to have Medical clearance within 30 days prior to the surgery...sure didn't have that with the other guy...and no pre-surgery drops which surprised me....but I'm on drops for 4 weeks post op...fingers crossed this surgery turns out better than the last one
Stopped at Betty's after the dr. appt. and got the rest of her donation items loaded in my truck...I had stopped on my way to the eye Dr and dropped off what we had already loaded on Friday...and good thing I did...the bed of my truck was full and the back seat again after we got it all loaded...one of my other friends helped me at Betty's & is going to go with me tomorrow to help unload...
I decided to cancel Scooter's echo-cardiagram of her heart that was scheduled for this month....at this time I have decided to just focus on keeping her blood pressure under control & keeping her comfortable. I had left a message asking the vet to call me & she did tonite. She agrees with me that at this point the echo can be put off. It's nice to have a vet who doesn't always push testing or treatments on you...if she seems to get worse then it's something we can look at later...
Now I think it's time for an Aleve or maybe 2 and get comfy...

Good Tuesday morning Bunnies!

You're back in the hospital again, BB? What is it this time? And how did it effect your cruise? After this visit, you should be due for a free Subway.
1f601.png

Being unfamiliar with armadillos I needed to bring up pictures of them. But you are right Lee, they are ugly little critters. After finishing your recent 5 K, and still having lots of gas still in your tank, I like your new goal of a 10 K next year.

Welcome back Bill. And in this reality, you do get a bill at restaurants. Sounds like your group enjoyed their time on the ship. I'd be curious what your gas prices were right before you left for your cruise compared to what it is now that you are back. Gas here averages $4.09 a gallon.......at the moment.

K2; Thanks for confirming BB's hospitalization. It always bugs me that once she is admitted, there is always a cloak of secrecy concerning any details. Your friend "Ted" must be loaded to stay at such a fancy retirement home. Those places don't come cheap or are within range of your average retired person. Lucky guy.

Oh, Kathi has been sweet talking me for quite some time, KC. She's bound and determined to get another weaner-dog. But there's no way I want another dog at this time, no matter what the breed. With this new eye doctor, I truly believe that this cataract surgery will be a breeze.

High 30's for us today, but no rain or snow.

Praise today for the Ukrainian soldiers and civilians defending their homeland. Damn, they are outnumbered by Russian soldiers. May some peace soon come.

Did we ever get rain last night. The van looks like it’s been through a car wash.
Already 70F at 5:30 am. And very, very humid.
It sounds like a really nice place Ted is living in. And no doubt there’s a waiting list to get in. Are you sure you didn’t go to a Disney restaurant for breakfast Kathie? That’s pretty close to what you’d pay there for a “simple” breakfast.
How are you feeling this morning Karen. I do hope the soak and Aleve did the trick. As for your new eye guy, he seems to be thorough and on top of things. It’s always hard to balance pet care. Will a procedure stress them more than simply monitoring their condition. As pet owners we can all only do the best we can.
Lu-Ann is always pondering another pet Dave. I point out that with various health concern we both have and my age I don’t think it’s fair to us or a pet. Not to mention that we’d like return to cruises and travelling at some point and it’s not easy to find good, reliable Greyhound sitters. That said, the state of the world may well determine how much travelling any of us do.
Hopefully Pat will let us know how she is doing. And how she got back into hospital!
Mornin’ to the rest.
Safe day to all.

Good morning. Back yesterday a bit after noon from the cruise. Of course coming home we made a stop at Trader Joe's, since the Palm Beach Gardens one is the closed to us.

Over all the cruise was very good. But after all the goodies that Celebrity gives you on your first cruise getting nothing on the second is a let down and on the survey I told them that.

Of course at the pier we were upgraded from ocean view to balcony which is nice. Found out yesterday that there were 1800 on the cruise and definitely at times the buffet felt like it. Towards the end of the cruise we found that there were 2 people that tested positive for Covid but were in isolation. Found in the shops that the prices were higher than on the Celebrity cruise in Dec. but we did not need anything so no problem.

On our last excursion, which was a cruise around Antigua and a beach break on the way back to the ship we all of a sudden stopped, there was small pod of whales that we watched for at least 20 minutes, so neat.

After getting home yesterday I did get both suitcases unpacked and one load of laundry done. Another to do today.

Today I have to fill the gas tank as Friday we head to Tampa and Jennifer's as Saturday is the Memorial Service for our nephew. We will be coming back home on Sunday.

Bill, the price of gas in Vero is usually at least $.10 a gallon less than in Ft Pierce.

All have a great day.

Welcome Home Nancy. Another nice recap of a cruise.
Interesting how no matter where you go or what you do everything costs more.
Oh well…

Power To The People Peace GIF by Creative Courage
Again, I wake up to horrible news happening all over Ukraine. Hard to be JOLLY when others are running for their lives. Paying more for gas is a small price to pay for freedom.

Plan your daily trips more wisely. Buy more groceries than you usually do to avoid repeat trips. Hopefully, soon we will be able to get outside and breath in some fresh air. We saw many different birds this morning at the bird feeders. They're coming home slowly. Saw nesting Herons yesterday. Amazing birds that nest way up high in trees over marsh areas.

I saw a article that said POTUS will be announcing a halt on importing Russian Fuel. The next sentence said that doing that will surely incite a war. Not what I want to read at all. My stomach did a flip flop. I know we're all suppose to just CARRY ON with our lives, but my MIND is racing 24/7 about Covid, Ukraine, church issues and now possible WAR over gas. Not sure a SHRINK could even help me unscramble things right now. At least I started today with a good nights sleep last night thanks to Melatonin! (it's not a drug, it's natural)

Okay, let's move on K2!

DAVE: I see that Pat does have access to Facebook. I'm thinking she just doesn't have her phone set-up for Cruise-addicts and we have to wait until she gets home and back on here to hear from her. Hope she's doing okay. Not a good sign going back into the hospital so soon. All the BEST to PAT.

My friend TED at the "upscale" Sr living place was an engineer where we worked together. He had 4 patents to his credit for government aircraft parts while he worked there. Loved boating big time. Yup, ole Ted must have some major bucks to live in that place. God bless him for spending it on himself and not SAVING it for his kids. :clap002:

Lee: The restaurant where we had the breakfast is the place we go to when we want a good homecooked meal. They have raised their prices, just like ALL restaurants in the area have, but at least the food is really good. It's just the way things are. I pay a high price at the meat market and grocery store too. It's pay at the store or pay at the restaurant. All the same.

I can't imagine how much MORE your food bill was on this current trip to Florida. And you get to factor in the money exchange on top of it. I'm glad you are able to go and enjoy your retirement money. As it should be. I don't see you leaving an inheritance to the pups! You, out of all of us on here, know what a health scare can do to you and since you made a wonderful recovery why not enjoy life to the fullest.

Karen: I needed to stop and take a big breath after reading your post. WOW, that's a lot of lifting and hauling you're doing for your friend Betty. Nice to know you got somebody to help you. Having a TRUCK can be a curse at times! You're a good soul and I know that Betty is grateful for your friendship and help. Hope you two stay in touch after she moves.

From what you're posting about the EYE doctor I think it's all good. A pre "medical approval" shows the doctor cares about his patients. He doesn't want somebody having a heart attack under his care. I had to have an EKG and Primary doctor release.
Pre drops are a good thing to make sure you don't have any lingering infections, and I did 4 weeks of POST drops. 3 Different kinds of little bottles of meds for various times of the day. The CHART they gave me was a life safer to make it easy to keep track of all the times for the drops. I hope they give you one. ASK about it when you go there next time.
BE HAPPY this doctor is right on top of everything and not just a production line. You'll do just fine. REST and NO LIFTING is a important thing to remember after the surgery. SMART MOVE that you're waiting until AFTER Barb's bathroom job is done to have the surgery. All will be good!

Nancy: Welcome back home. Sounds like you had a nice cruise. I do wonder just how did those 2 people show up POSITIVE for COVID and still get to go on the cruise? Just doesn't seem right at all. Did they have to stay in their CABINS for the ENTIRE TRIP? How were you informed about their having Covid?
Hope you got some good pictures of the WHALES on that excursion. Safe trip to Tampa on Friday in case I miss telling you.

Looks like somebody is posting at the same time I am. I'll have to peek and see who it is!
It was Lee! Ha Ha.

Need to drop some birthday cards off at the OUTSIDE MAILBOX by the post office. I just missed our mail lady as I opened the garage door to go to our mailbox. Hate when that happens. If were Summer and nice weather I could have popped on my bike and caught up to her truck, but NOT when it's 34F outside! Ha ha.
OKay, I'm out of here.

Bill: HEllo!
