Thanks Karen......it was touch and go for both teams at most times. Love COLLEGE Football.

Pat: Your team needs to HEAR you CHEERING them on a little louder girl. They still have another quarter to catch up. Go Gators.

Trick or Treat Day in Massillon. 3-5. Kathi's handing out the treats this year. This year each beggar will receive an individual size bag of chips, Fritos, or pretzels.

K2; And just when you and me had given up on the Spartans....THEY WIN! Congratulations. Nice picture of the taco bowls, betcha they looked even better with something in them.

Ya finally got us Lee. Yesterday Kathi ran down to Panera and got us one of their turkey sandwiches. We split it. Neither of us could eat a whole one without belching the rest of the day. Quite tasty. The onions on it gave it a little zip.

Sorry to hear that your cold keeps coming and going, KC. They did say that colds would be more common this year since people are wearing their masks less. At the end of this year our family doctor's office will no longer accept our Medicare advantage plan. So we'll be switching to a Medicare supplement plan that allows us to go to any doctor, specialist, or hospital that accepts Medicare anywhere in the country.

BB; These kids do get hooked on TV shows, and watch them over and over and over. The day you don't have any gas for your generator is the day you'll need it. Just hope Bert fires it up once in a while so it doesn't get all gummed up.

Be good and don't be snatching the kids candy and treats. Yes it's true, old people steal. (Mostly sugar packets.)

Good Sunday Morning.
Great comeback for The Spartans Kathie. Heck of a game.
Glad you and Kathi enjoyed the sandwich Dave. Panera is our restaurant of choice when we’re on the road. We are starting to see them in Ontario now. Along with a Chik-Fil-A in Windsor.
Lu-Ann got a little Crispy Crunch bar with her flu shot. Along with letters that we are high risk and should get our Pfizer booster. I got nothin’ when I had my flu shot last week.
It seems to have stopped raining at last. It’s gonna feel like about 50F for the little darlins who will be out beggin for handouts tonight. We‘re handing out chips too.
I don't know, other than filling up the van with expensive fuel (almost $5 USD a gallon), whats on tap for today.
You all be good, stay safe and we’ll see you later.

BOO! :winkhn: Good morning to all you over the hill goblins! :bigsmilehn:

Kathie - Congrats on the MSU win yesterday. Good for them pulling it out in the end. We weren't so lucky. The Gators forgot to show up for the game and sent some high school players in their place. We really didn't expect to win the game, but had hoped it would be closer than it was. At least they didn't shut us out. That hasn't happened in the last 407 games! How's that for some kind of record? As the old Brooklyn Dodgers used to say after losing the World Series to the Yankees year after year - Wait until next year!!

Dave - That's pretty limited trick or treating by you. Here we shouldn't see anyone until it starts to get dark and the biggest crowds of kids will show up between 8 and 8:30. That's when you get cleaned out fast. We usually get between 125 & 150 kids. Last year it was all shut down, so we really expect they will be out in droves this year. Bert didn't buy any candy I like, so it can all go this year. I don't have to cull the supply like usual!

Karen - How's the cold doing today? I hope it's getting better. You might need to buy a bottle of something stronger than Bailey's. I had to take an allergy pill this morning. I was so congested when I woke up this morning and I was having a hard time catching my breath. I feel much better now that I've given the pill a chance to work.

Lee - Glad you and Lu-Ann are high priority and can get your booster shot now. We're waiting for the official word that the shot is now available for younger kids, so Nathan & Jennifer can finally get the shot. Nathan is very excited about this and wants to get the shot asap. First time he's ever been eager to get a shot!

Missy and Jimmy are making brunch for us this morning and food is just about ready, so I better get off here and get ready to eat. Have a wonderfully spooky day, everyone! :smilehn::coolhn::madhn::oopshn::lolhn::xd:

Good MID-LATE-Morning gang! Time fly's when you're .......well doing nothing! Ha Ha

Dave: I like that your town starts the Trick or Treating at 3:00 pm. Makes much more sense and since it's on a SUNDAY they can do that and not worry about kids or parents being home.

We're handing out Downey's Potato Chips individual bags from where Jill is working and those small bite-size candies. I get the honors of sitting at the edge of our driveway with a folding chair for me to sit in and one for the candies in the bowl to be handy. The box of chips with be next to me. If it's cold I bring out the round heater and use the extension cord to hook it up and keep my feet warm. I've got this down pat.
Since we are basically on the short end of a street that turns a few houses from ours I give the kids a break by not having to walk all the way up the driveway and sidewalk to our door. If I don't do this most of the kids just cross the street to get to the houses on that LONG STREET. More LOOT that way for them. Ha Ha. Hey it's worked for all these years, so it's good.

Dave/Kathi: Nice that you got to try the Panera Turkey sandwich. I'm not a big sandwich eater, so getting the Starbucks Seasonal Turkey sandwich w/dressing & cranberries is good for me. One or two of those while they have them and if I have reward points (stars) does it for me.

Lee: Glad you were able to get the MSU/UofM game yesterday. It was a UP & DOWN game for sure. So glad our Spartans won in the last minute and half of the game! Whew! That little WALKER player was something else when he ran through 2 openings and evaded getting tackled. I wonder if he drinks those POWER DRINKS before a game! Ha Ha.
So, does the fact that Lu-Ann got those letters saying she's high risk and to get a Booster make it any faster for her to get the shot? How do you guys go about getting those Boosters over your way?? I take it you don't have any walk-in places?

Karen: If that cold keeps coming back you might want to get it checked out at your Doc's. You might have a infection that needs a little more help than VICKS and Baileys! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

PAT: Your Gators were just not there to play the game yesterday. Big LOSS! Bummer.
I have to agree with Dave that you need to tell Bert to TEST that Generator at least once a year to make sure it's still working since it's never turned on in all those years. I take it that it's a GAS or Propane outside on the side of your house type of generator. If it's in your garage you'll never find it! Ha Ha. 1635693849583.png Ha Ha. Hopefully it's connected to keep your Heat or A/C and refrig going in case you lose power!

I'll be back later. Have a safe day.

Happy Halloween everyone!! No trick or treating here...it's not allowed in the complex...Bah-humbugh!! But I guess it's for the best our roads are very narrow & it could get risky with old people driving at night with kids around...

Pat, the Gators sure are not having the best year this year for sure! One year while I was still working as a manager for Publix I got to go to the Fl-Ga game....the coke cola rep took about 8 of us up for the day...that was a fun time! And check your local Publix for the Jeni ice cream...I checked ours today in Belleview & they had about 5-6 of the flavors...forgot to check how much they were though

Lee, sure hope you & LuAnn can get your booster shots...especially with travel ahead in your future!
Sorry about those crazy gas prices you have to deal with...

Kathie, thanks Doc...I'll keep that in mind...;) this crazy weather we're having doesn't help any...raining & damp one day...hot & sunny the next..

Dave, your Medicare plan sounds interesting....another thing to check into next year...there are just so darn many plans to choose from...and so much fine print in all of them...
Your town sure starts trick or treating early....around here most people don't start till around dusk...

Actually slept in a little bit today...would have liked to stay in bed longer but I wanted to get to Dollar Tree when they opened...I had bought some Christmas solar lights the other day & only 3 of the 4 worked...I wanted to get in before the crowds to exchange it...made it there about 9:05 and there was already people in line at the check out...and they just opened at 9! Managed to make my exchange & get out without to much trouble...

I am making some light up Christmas Presents for Jane to put in her yard in a big Metal Sleigh that she has...the frame is pvc corner molding & it's covered in dollar tree glitter tulle...I will put a solar light inside the center of the package to light it up at night...here are some pictures....I am making 2 of them...one will be 11x11x11" and the one in the picture that is finished is 9x9x9"....will try to get a picture tonite after it's lit up...

Karen - Bert already checked our Publix and they have it too. Unfortunately, a pint is more expensive than Hagen Das or Ben & Jerry's. It's over $8. a pint! Someday when I feel rich, I might give it a try. Otherwise, I'll stick with Breyers! Pretty, but cool day around here.

Jimmy's pork butt that he's smoking is starting to smell really good out on the lanai.

That's still cheaper than I paid online...but yeah...I won't be rushing to buy any either...but one day as a treat maybe...

Got both light up presents done...I think they turned out cute...will post pic's of both after dark...

Real Quick... I got a call from Marge. Eddies' wife and she left a message on our machine. Our dear EDDIE was in a bad car accident and had to have various surgeries. Anyway, she said he got my info on how to get on here to chat with us, and he didn't want us to think he wasn't interested. She said he will be going into a Rehab center and doesn't know how long it will take to get better. Nice of him to check in.

If you think of it and feel like it maybe it would be nice to send a SNAIL MAIL Get-well card to his house. I always liked Eddie and he gave the us the BEST TOUR ever of NYC years ago.

I gotta run to get ready for the Gremlins and hand out the chips and candy.

Later gang. And be careful when driving.

Thanks for the update on Eddie, Kathie. I too think I still have his address and will get a card out to him.

Bert's outside giving out candy to the neighborhood trick or treaters. I so miss not being outside with him doing this, but he wanted me to stay inside.

Good night from Kissimmee, See you all tomorrow. :bigsmilehn:

Couldn't get a good picture of the gift boxes lit up....but here's the general idea & best I could do...

Karen: Just saw you popped on as I was posting. The BOXES LOOK FANTASTIC. They'll look great in the Sleigh! Good job as always. Add personal decorating to your list of accomplishments!

Well tonight we had "25" kids come by tonight. This will be the last Trick or Treating for us. The WIND picked up big time and then it started to do a light drizzle of rain. I packed up and came inside. Too old for this stuff.
The kids like to go around streets that go around and around. Our street is at the start of a curve. Neighbors 2 houses on either side didn't have candy. I was the only one. DUH! Oh well, we have a few bags of those Good Potato chips from where Jill works and candy that we like, so we're set for treats for the COLD WINTER. Ha Ha.

Off to get ready to watch the HOPEFULLY LAST GAME of the SEASON. Good Night.

Let me know if any of you need TOURS by EDDIE's address. I feel so badly for him getting smashed up. Poor Marge having to deal with all this too.
BILL you know how hard that is for your experience and the car accident you and Rita were in.

Be SAFE. We go to get Art's tooth pulled at 10 am. I'll be around sometime later.

Welcome to a new week, Bunnies.

125 to 150 trick or treaters for you BB. We came nowhere near that. Had around 45. And one real interesting girl in the bunch. It was a girl that brought along her pet rat. She even sat it on Kathi's shoulder. The girl said, "It must like you because it's sniffing around you". Better Kathi than me. I happen to like daylight trick or treating. Safer for the little kids, plus we can better see their costumes.

YIKES, 5 bucks a gallon for your gas, Lee. So happy that you are eligible for your booster shots now.

Thanks for the heads-up on Eddie, K2. It's a shame you weren't home when Marge called. But at least she left a message. Sorry that Art needed that tooth pulled. A bridge now, or an implant?

KC; How cool and creative those lighted Christmas presents are. You are so right that all those Medicare plans can make your head spin. The differences in some of them are so small.

We were Mrs. Kravitz-ing our next door neighbor yesterday.

A lead-up to that; They've had an above ground pool for about 15 years. And had even built a large wooden deck for it. A couple of weeks ago their pool liner was out for trash pick-up. Didn't think anything of it since those things do wear out. The deck sits above the top of their wooden fence, so we can see it when looking out the kitchen window.

But yesterday there was hammering that sounded more like a sledge-hammer than just a hammer. And the sound of a sawzall. And I saw one guy with a crowbar.

In the morning the pool-deck was there. By the end of the day it had disappeared.

Now that they are empty-nesters maybe they just said, "enough of this pool". "Its' maintenance and cost."

Good morning and happy the day after Halloween, All Saints Day or Day of the Dead, if you are of Mexican heritage! Around here today it is definitely the day of the living. eather should be perfect with high temp just teasing 80.

Last night poor Bert was exhausted by the time he had to call it a night, as he ran out of candy. He gave out all 320 lollypops, 2 huge bags of candy, plus about 90 individual packs of pretzels! Thank goodness it's all gone, except for about a half dozen bags of the pretzels that I asked Bert to save for me, as none of the candy was my favorite. In other words, there was no chocolate candy, unless you count tootsie rolls as chocolate. That's not going to happen.

At least the kids collected some good loot that we will be stealing from them. Ha Ha! At one house in the neighborhood that M&J are moving to, one house was giving out jello shots in hypodermic needle type things! Missy brought one home and I asked her where you could buy those things, as I had never seen it before. I should have known - Amazon, where else!!!

Dave - Next thing you have to do is go ask your neighbor what he's doing. You're probably right though. Once the kids are gone, unless you enjoy swimming, who needs a pool? Part of the reasons we sold the house in Ocala. No one used the pool and it was expensive to maintain such a large pool. Besides, I had to do all the work!

Talking about selling houses, if you want to sell your house in this community, you better have another house already in mind and ready for you to move into. Houses here are selling within the first couple of days and in some cases, it becomes a bidding war. The prices people are getting are ridiculous too. I'd be afraid to list this house, as it would take months just to pack up all our stuff.
The house M&J are building has gone up $60,000 since they signed their contract! Talk about a hot market!!

Karen - Those boxes are really neat. You did a great job on them and will look perfect in that sled. Now you should make some for outside your house too.

Kathie - I already have a card ready to send off to Eddie. I just have to address it and send it on its way. Sorry about Art having to have that tooth pulled, but sometimes that happens. I hope he feels better once it's gone.

Lee - So what's on tap for you and Lu-Ann today aside from taking the dogs for a walk? I hope your rains are a thing of the past, for a few days at least.

Not much going on around here today. Missy is off to have blood work done. She has a new doctor who wanted it done today, so Missy can see her tomorrow. I don't have to cook tonight, as Jimmy made that smoked pork butt and there's still plenty left for more sandwiches tonight. It really is delicious. My biggest job is going to be trying to decide what to make for dinner tomorrow night and whether or not to invite G&E's gang over. But before I do any of that, it's time for a cup of coffee and to read the newspaper to see what's happening in the world.

Have a fantastic day, everyone. You know the drill!! :)
