Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hi gang. Nice chatter on here toddy.

Lee: How fun doing a boat tour on the Detroit River. Something different and outdoors.

BB: Enjoy your peace and quiet while you can.
We are pushing it going into a restaurant again. Good thing we have that 3rd vaccine booster in us!

Karen: I got the shivers just READING ABOUT YOU GIRLS GOING IN THE POOL! Brrrr

Dave: You guys sure are having a run with bad luck with your kitchen toys!

I got all my Stuffed cabbage pkgs sealed this morning. Glad that project is done.

Temps in the low 70’s and sunny and DRY for a change here in PURE MICHIGAN.

Negc: How you doing on your Football pools this year? And tell us how much it costs to ship a car to Florida? Oh and are you staying in the same city and condo this year?
Are you guys down to 1 car these days?

Out of here for now. Need to find something to wear to our dinner later.
Jill is getting another paint by number for adults portrait from us and a few bucks to spend on herself. She did one of those paintings last year during COVID and had it framed for their 1/2 bathroom. Takes a lot of patience.

Enjoy your day gang!

Well our peaceful day is over. They're back! Kids are supposed to be cleaning their bedroom, but I don't hear anything going on in there. I had to take Jennifer's cell phone away from her. She's just like her mother and can't get her face out of it!

Fajitas are still on for tonight, so I think it's time for me to get a glass of wine. I'm 3 minutes late for happy hour!! Have a geat evening, gang, and I'll see to tomorrow. :)

"Dave, why is it as I was reading your bread machine adventure I had this mental picture of it frantically wiggling it's way to the back door & freedom while the toaster huddled with the blender saying...if he make's, you're next kid...go for it!"

KC, I just loved your mental picture. So far, no mass escape.

Well gang, not much to gab about this morning. Just wanting to check in and say Howdy to ya'll.

Getting our flu shots this morning. (Senior version.)

Monday Motivation GIF by Chippy the Dog
Suppose to be nice here in Pure Michigan. The sun is already peeking out.

Dave: Amazing that Bread Machine still worked after it tried to ESCAPE! Great story and Karen had the best comeback reply.

Today I'm going to attempt to VACCUM and Disinfect the inside of my vehicle. The mats need washing and the dust on the dashboard needs to be gone and the FRONT WINDOW needs to get that HAZE removed. You see it the most when the sun shines right at you. The car will appreciate the inside attention.

We had a yummy dinner at the Italian restaurant celebrating Jill's B-day. Food was spot on good.......but prices since we were there last went up 50% on everything. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: It was like going into a car showroom if you weren't in one for 7 years! WOW. Same good food, same amount, just costs more! And the amazing thing is that EVERY time we drive by this place, (it's really close to our house so we pass it often) it's parking lot is FULL. Even when things were closed down people were lined up to get their carry-outs. The guy has a GOLD MINE going there.
Glad we had the gift cert from the choir to offset some of the cost of the bill.
We came back to our house for CAKE.... no ice cream.... they didn't have room for it. Ha ha.
A nice evening was had by all.

I have managed to get one load of clothes washed and dried already this morning. Now I need to do the folding before they cool down. Love to fold warm clothes for some reason.

Hope you all had a good weekend and will have a good week. I'll be back later to check on you! Ha ha.

Bye Bye Hello GIF

Good morning one and all! Beautiful morning here with the temp cooled down to 76. Perfect weather for sure!! It will get hot again this afternoon, but now is the time to enjoy ir outside. I bet there were lots of walkers and joggers out there this morning.

Kathie - We were planning to go get our Covid booster shot today, but I think we should wait until Wednesday. I haven't had a reaction to the shots yet, but I don't want to take a chance getting git today and get some kind of a reaction when we have the whole gang coming for dinner tomorrow. I couldn't imagine making a big corned beef and cabbage dinner when not feeling well. Now I just have to convince Bert to put it off for 2 days.
I think most restaurant prices are going up substantially. We'll get a double whammy here, as prices always go up when the snowbirds hit town. ANd now with the higher cost of everything, it's going to get increasingly harder to find a place with reasonable prices. So glad we have the Grille here, but even their specials are pushing higher and they get supplimented by the management company.

Dave - Good luck with your flu shot. Bert originally wanted to get that at the same time as the Covid booster, but I think I managed to convince him to wait a few weeks before doing that. Besides, by then hopefully Publix will be giving a $10. gift card for getting the shot like they do every year.

Karen - I bet it was a wee bit cool in your area this morning. It will be warming up this afternoon though. Did you and your sisters get to go swimming yesterday? How was the water?

Time to get off here for a while. I too have some laundry that needs to get done today. I'll be back later. :)

PAT FYI: We were both lucky NOT to have any reaction at all to the Covid Booster vaccine. I can't blame you for waiting until after your dinner. We will get our Flu-Vaccine next week.

I have been on the phone or trying to get signed in on this computer to Verizon and Comcast (Xfinity now) for over 1.5 hours. UNREAL.
All I wanted to know was if our plans cover International calls and texting. You would think I was trying to get into Fort Knox. Finally got a answer from Comcast. And I pretty much think we have a International plan set up on Verizon that if we use it in Mexico or other International countries it's a flat $5 buck fee a day.
I'm going to drive up to the Verizon store and ask in person. Much easier than trying to connect online. Every time I sign in online to Verizon it sends me a message to my CELL PHONE to verify that it's me signing in. And then it says to try again LATER because something is not working. UNREAL. Better to just drive up one mile and ask in person.

Belleview checking in...beautiful bright sunny day...I was able to turn the AC off for a while & open the doors...that's come to an end now...starting to get hot & muggy inside...
We did make it to the pool yesterday...it was hot & sunny but the pool was a bit on the cool side...I'd say probably about 84 degrees...and then later there was a bit of a breeze, so it was really chilly when you got out...I think our pool days are very numbered...at least in the big pool...
Not much else going on...still waiting on a call from the vet....will check back later with you all

Good afternoon;
We got a little bit of a later start as well today. That crammed some stuff together but all in all it was a good, busy and bright day.
Games day today was a round of mini golf. Like food prices he’s added a couple of bucks so now it’s $22 and change for two rounds. Geez.
To add to Karen’s mental picture of Dave’s ”great bread maker escape” I have it on good authority that the bread maker was creating a distraction while the the fork ran away with the spoon!
Our government continues to waffle on third shots. I do feel bad for some folks who got Astra-Zenica which was not approved in The US. If the border ever opens will they be allowed entry?
I noticed the Turkish place was part of a chain Pat. They certainly seemed to have a varied and tasty sounding menu!
I guess the bottom line Kathie is that the food and company was good at the Italian place by you.
Cardio rehab tomorrow followed by a visit with their cardiologist. Hopefully he can answer some question about heart rate, meds and how they could impact this damned prostate issue. We’re having friends from Kitchener for dinner tomorrow too. I hope they taste good. I tossed that in to see who’s paying attention in the event there’s a pop quiz on Friday.
That‘s about it from The Burg. Stay safe my friends.

Lee, glad to see you dropped by...I was about ready to go on a search for the theme song from Gilligan's Island...

Just got the call from the Vet...all of Scooter's blood work was good...there was one reading that was very slightly elevated which could indicate GI issues...but the vet said that since she is not showing any symptoms that would be associated with that doing further testing is not really that beneficial...her thyroid & blood counts are all good...which is a big WHEW sign of relief...next step is to drop her off on Wed. morning for blood pressure testing & to try & get a urine sample...

Lee: I was a Gilligan's Island fan when I was young. Love that theme song.
And hope you have the right Seasonings for the Company you're having for dinner tomorrow night. YUK! Maybe you would consider just serving Pizza instead of your friends! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Hope that all goes well with the Cardio Doctor visit. Make sure to remember your notes! Seems like the doctors I go to pay better attention if I have my NOTEBOOK in my lap and a pen handy. They know I'm serious. If they only knew that I click on the phones timer when they walk into the room to see just how long they talk with me. Ha ha.

Karen: Nice that Scooter's labs came back okay. Amazing that they will actually be taking blood pressure on a cat. And throw in the urine test too. Get ready for another unreal bill tomorrow.

I thought of our Tony today as I sweated while vacuuming out my car and trunk and washing the interior down. He would have some type of smart remark about me doing that. I also did the front windows, but will be doing them again. When I took the car out on the street the sun was shining into the front and all I could see were STREAKS. Hate that. I have a spray that the guy who put our shower doors in sold me and it's good on my bathroom mirrors. Hopefully, it will not leave streaks on the car windows. TOMORROW'S JOB.
Always something!! LOL

I'm off to see if there is anything on TV besides Monday night Football. I'm about football'd out for this week.

Nite from Pure Michigan!

Night Sleep GIF

Morning, Morning!

We did get the flu shot yesterday. Got it at the Giant Eagle grocery store where they have a pharmacy inside. (It's the largest grocery store in town.) And yes, each of us got a $10 credit for future shopping.

While there we picked up a few items we can't get at the grocery store we usually pick up our stuff at. I was pleased to see that the majority of shoppers were wearing masks. Maybe, just maybe, people are smartening up.

K2; I wonder how some of these restaurants stay in business with their cost of food and workers going way up. We all know that just the cost of our own groceries has jumped.

BB; It's good to hear that Grille gets supplemented by the management company, since it's inside a gated community.

Refresh my memory KC; Your community's pool has a set date when they close the pool, if I remember right. When is that? Seems like us pet owners always have more Vet bills coming.

I had totally forgotten about the Astra-Zeneca covid vaccine Lee since it's not used here. (And your Kitchener friends were never seen again.

)

Plastic bottles need to be dropped off into the recycling dumpsters this morning. Plus I should get on the treadmill. And that's about it for my plans.

Good Morning Wrabbits! It's another beautiful morning here in Pure Michigan!

I'm really ticked that none of our Grocery Stores offer a $10 gift card for getting the Covid vaccine. Nice perk for sure.

I don't have much to gab about this morning. I slept in a little later........thank goodness..... since I didn't sleep worth a hoot last night. Just a tossing and turning type of a night. Hate when that happens.

Made a appointment yesterday for my annual physical with my Primary Internist. It's the biggest waste of time and money, but if you don't do it once a year they don't want to RENEW your prescriptions when you call in. Talk about a money scam. Anyways, it's Decemeber 30th. She's that booked out. Unreal.

Art and I went by the new Water Tower that is being built yesterday and pulled onto the property and got a closer look at the construction. There is scaffolding all over the place and we still can't figure out if it's going to be on the ground or if they're still building the base for the tank to be up in the air. It's a crazy mystery. We even looked up how to build a community water tank on Google and YouTube and it didn't help much. Time will tell how it ends up.

Okay, I need to go and get the car washed since today is Tuesday Special Day at the car wash. Love this local car wash because it gives you 3 "soapy washings" before it stars the rinses. And that front window needs to get re-cleaned inside.

You all behave. DAVE.... good to know more of your fellow neighbors had MASKS on. I don't know why it's such a big deal. The techs in the Verizon store yesterday had their masks on and I did too. The lady about 15 feet from me didn't. Go figure.

Good morning, everyone! Another beautiful day here in PURE Florida!!

Karen - Knowing that the vet is going to be taking Scooter's BP, conjured up all sorts of questions as to how it's done. Like do they have an itty bitty BP cuff and a miniature stethoscope? Do you know how it's done? Inquiring minds need to know the answer!

Kathie - You and Art check out water towers. Dave checks out repaving projects. Bert likes to ride through home construction sites. Once an area or section is finished, he never goes there again. He likes to keep tract of how many lots remain available! I just go along for the ride.
By the way, I meant to ask you which type of vaccine did you get? I'm sure you told us, but I forget.

Lee - Enjoy your company today. Loved that song! I too was a fan and always watched the show when I first came on and then years later on Nick at Night. That plus Green Acres were our late night favorites!

Dave - The Grille is owned by the developer and they own the liquor license too. The management company we have gets a certain amount in their budget to cover all the things that are their responsibility and staffing and running the Grille is part of why they are still here. Once we get to the point where the homeowners will be running the community, you never know if they will keep this management company or go find a different one. Time will tell.
Which shot did you get? Nice they gave you both a $10. credit for future shopping. I haven't heard yet whether Publix is doing anything for the vaccine or for the flu shot. We usually get a notice about it, but so far the year we haven't heard anything.

I need to finish up a shopping list for Bert. Nothing needed for our dinner tonight, but a few things that we are running short of in other areas. Missy is going to smoke some fish this afternoon, just for the heck of it. They have a really great smoker and can smoke all sorts of things. Last thing we had that Jimmy had smoked with a brisket that was fall apart delicious. Can't wait to taste the fish.

Have a super day, gang! :)

Right after I posted the above post, our landscapers arrived to do the lawn. Missy was sitting on the couch in the family room and thought she saw the guy mowing pull a piece of fruit off our cocktail tree, peal it and eat it while mowing, but she didn't see him actually pick it. A few minutes later he was back at the tree and Missy saw him clearly pick off another piece of fruit. We called Bert from the computer room and he and Missy went out to confront the guy. At first he denied doing it, but Missy told him that she was sitting right there and saw him do it. Then he said that he was sorry and gave the fruit back. It turned out to be an unripe naval orange, the first and only one we've ever gotten on that tree! Then Bert went back to the cocktail tree and found 2 limes lying under the tree that he had also cut off. Needless to say, the boss will be getting an email in a little while. If this guy stole off the tree so easily, who knows what else he'll steal from others? These guys get paid $15. an hour, so it isn't like the guy is poor and has no money. We're just pissed over his nerve thinking no one saw him the first time, so he'd go get more. Unbelievable!!

Hi everyone!
I thought that I'd pop in between walking the dogs, Cardiac Rehab, visit with Doc
Martin McFarlane, lunch, walking the dogs (again), calling the dentist to confirm our visit on October 12 and our friends coming!
Sounds like you've all been busy bunnies.
Ya Kathie, Tony surely would have had a comment about you and your car.
Good for you and Kathi Dave getting paid to get the flu shot. I wish they'd do that here!
On the dental theme Pat, some people have more nerve than a broken wisdom tooth! I can't imagine that, if the company has any sort of backbone, it will end well for the guy who stole the fruit! And this young lady is for you!
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umS3XM3xAPk

What's cooking in Belleview today Karen?
It's nice here today with sun, low humidity and temps in the low 70'sF. I think that we're gonna sit outside with, wait for it, a glass or three of wine.
Tomorrow is fence day at Jim and Gail's. We started it ages ago but they wanted to wait until their driveway and walkway were poured. That hasn't happened so we'll proceed with the fence anyway.
OK, you all behave, keep those masks on PROPERLY! and enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Good afternoon!

Pat, that really sucks about the mower guy stealing fruit off your tree...and you are so right...if he'd come back for 2nds on the fruit who knows what else ole "sticky fingers" will find laying around & take off with...
I did get to see them take Scooter's blood pressure the last time & had wondered the same as you, how the heck would they do it? They attach a small velcro strap like piece to the base of the tail...it has a small cord running to a digital display just like a human reader & that gives them the pulse & blood pressure reading...pretty cool looking!

Dave, nice that you got paid to get a flu shot...knock on wood, I've never had the shot & rarely get the flu...colds yes...flu thankfully No...
And Nope...this is Florida...so the Clubhouse pool is never officially closed for the season...we pay a company to maintain it year round..rarely does anyone use it during the winter...but every so often some "northerner" will come down to visit family & there will be kids in the pool...

Kathie, hope you get the windshield cleaned to your satisfaction...nothing worse than cleaning a window & then a few minutes later seeing streaks! That sounds like a pretty fancy car wash with 3 sudsing...

Lee, hope the visit with the cardiologist goes well today & you FINALLY get some real answers to what is going on...
So how were the friends you had for dinner the other day? And just wondering...what type wine does one serve with friends? :)

Went over to Jane's this morning & finished up a few of the outside projects I've been working on...it was a nice cool morning to start...but didn't take long to warm up...pool was a bit to cool for me to venture in this morning, so I just headed home after I finished up..
I have tonites dinner all prepped...unstuffed cabbage rolls...been craving that ever since Kathie had to go & mention making cabbage rolls...but I like this way better...much less mess...
Now I think it's time for a glass of tea & go read for a while on the porch...later all!

Pat: Bummer on the fruit. I would have told him if he had ASKED for a piece I'm sure you would have given him one. Geez. Nothing is safe these days.

Karen: Thanks for explaining how they take Blood Pressure on a Cat and most likely a dog. Amazing! And just what is UNSTUFFED cabbage rolls? Something like my Stuffed Green Pepper Soup perhaps? Glad I got you to make it. Ha Ha.

Got the car washed.
Bought some Mums for the side of the house where the Impatient flowers were all Summer. They finally toppled over and had to get pulled out.
Stopped and got a Krispy Creme donut only because there was NO LINE at the drive thru. I know I'm so bad. But it was good.

I had put a loud of wash in the washer (like where else would I put it) earlier and now when Art came home from biking and went downstairs the water level (which was set at Super High) must have flowed over and leaked onto his precious model car table. GEEZ. Now who do you think will get blamed for that. Ha Ha. I told him after the LAST time this happened if it was MY WORK AREA that was RIGHT BELOW THE WASHER I would put up a heavy duty plastic sheet and direct it towards the wall. I'll let you know if that ever happens.
You know the story..... ALWAYS SOMETHING.

I'm off to finally do the car windows. The sun is shining the right way and I'll be able to see any streaks.
Then I'll plant the Mum plants and then make dinner.

Lee: It is just beautiful outside today. Hope all your medical questions were answered today.
And when you go to HELP with that fence please pace yourself. Bring a folding chair with you to take breaks on. Good luck.

Later.........

kathie, the unstuffed cabbage rolls are like a cabbage roll casserole...years ago Andrea gave us the recipe for it...chopped cabbage, hamburger & rice layered in a baking dish, with tomato soup mix poured over top & baked...somehow I managed to lose the recipe she had but found another one pretty similar online...

Well it was a long productive day. Mums are planted and watered.

Karen: That cabbage roll casserole sounds yummy.

I have the bedroom window wide open and it's going to be "hopefully" good sleeping tonight.

Lunch with my former work friends that both Art and I will be at. That group is like our group.... been together for years even though we all are retired. The group is getting smaller. Lost one person this year. :(

Take care folks. Soon this will be me! LOL
