Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning. Time to fluff your cute little bunny tails! Today is going to be a real Chamber of Commerce day here. NO RAIN, lower humidity and temps that are perfect with a high of about 87. Who could ask for more?

Karen - I second that OUCH for the cost at the vet. I'd hate to see what the bill will be if Scooter needs some kind of procedure done. I guess it's a good thing that we only have a cat who seems to stay healthy. Glad you got to just sit and read for a while yesterday.

Dave - Heat on already? Wow! I forget how fast things can cool off up north. I remember one year in NJ when we had to rush out and buy the kids winter jackets when it cooled off so fast. They wore those winter jackets almost every day from 9/15 until 5/15! Needless to say, after that those jackets were trashed!!

Kathie - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AND ART! I always tell people that 1966 was a great year to get married in. Everyone I know who got married that year, including us, is still with their spouses! Enjoy whatever you end up deciding to do today to celebrate your day.
Have you seen the video yet that Missy took this morning? They have sheetrock walls. They're also getting ready to stucco the outside. Of course, they still don't have roof tiles or windows, but it's a bit of progress. If it's that cool by you, just put the d*mn heat on. You can't take the money with you, ya know! I go for comfort and price isn't the deciding factor.

Lee - I too marvel the way you and Dave can find these songs. I had never heard that song before. Reminds me more of a Jimmy Buffet type song. I'll have to play it for our gang as we enjoy the key lime pie I plan to make for Sunday.

Our peppers, onions and sausage sandwiches turned out great last night. The good part is that we still have a few left for lunch. I'd like to head down to the Grille tonight. It'll be one of those rare nights that it won't be raining and I want to take advantage of it to give them support. I don't know how much the new Italian place is going to cut into their business. I much prefer their prices at the Grille and day!!

Have a wonderful day, everyone. There's another cup of coffee calling me this morning, so I intend to answer that call. Enjoy your day, no matter what you're doing, and no matter what you're doing, stay safe! :)

Thanks for the Anniv wishes Pat.

Turning on the heat has nothing to do with $$ Money $$! It’s the principle of not giving in to the Season change and a running bet with my brother who lives here in Michigan as to WHICH ONE OF US TURNS ON THE HEAT FIRST! Ha ha.

Yes, I saw Missy’s video of the house. Just gotta love that music that was in the background! Nice to see progress.

Kathie - Now a bet with your brother changes thing up a bit. We all like to be the winner, so go for it!
I got a kick out of the music too. That was a mariachi band for sure and added something to the whole video.

I forgot to tell you that I had talked to Rita the other day. She's feeling good and thinks by next week she won't need to use a cane while walking in the house. When she goes out, she used a walker. She also told me that they found a place to stay in Florida for 3 months t his winter. She and Bill plan to fly down to Florida and will ship their car down. Their friends will pick up their car for them to use. Definitely a win/win for them! Maybe we'll finally get to see them again. For one reason or another, it's been a few years since the last time wesaw them, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Time to go to BJ's for a few things.

I have no idea where this day went. And I’ve been up since 5:45 like normal. We did get the pups walked. The second walk was past the dragon in the park. This weekend is Amherstburg’s “Uncommon Festival”. We expect to be overrun by Muggles, Harry Potter characters and the such. I cut the front grass and trimmed front and back. If it doesn’t rain tomorrow I’ll get the back done.
Art and Kathie, this one’s for you…I guess you’ll just have to watch it on YouTube.

Well now, I guess we have a winner in the name that tune for a dollar store keychain. Eh Dave! I best get one in the mail next week.
I admit to turning on the furnace yesterday. It was just a tad cool for our comfort. We have the AC on today to take the dampness out of the house. With the new build construction behind us there’s all kinds of dust and dirt floating in the air so we really can’t open the windows.
Good that Bill and Rita found a place Pat. We have a place. It’s just getting there. If The Grille got my email they’re featuring peppers, onions and sausage. :emoticon 0140 rofl: We were at one grocery today and found no key limes…
How’s the wee patient today Karen. Any results back from the vet yet?
Time to fire up the air fryer. Tonight we’re doing fish and butternut squash.
You fine folks all, please, have a wonderful rest of your Friday!

Good evening....dinner is in the oven so time for a quick check in..

kathie, Happy Anniversary to you & Art...hope you out & do all the things that make happiest today!!

Lee, that my friend is the Million Dollar question....time goes by so fast these days it's like everything is being fast forwarded....makes me wonder are WE the "commercials" of life?
No word on Scooters blood work..the vet was going to be out of the office today but she said she would have them call me if anything serious showed up...so A....there was nothing serious with her blood work or B. Nobody got around to calling me...I choose A..

Pat, we sure have had a couple of super nice days the last couple days...I even had my doors & windows open most of the day....hope you make it to the Grille for dinner...and it's great to hear Bill & Rita were able to find a place in Florida for a few months...

Dave, there is just something about construction of any kind that just seems to bring out the "kid" in all of us...just fascinating to watch houses go up or new roads go down....
Today my niece Amanda turns 40 years old...hard to believe she is all grown up with an almost 9 yr old daughter....seems like only yesterday Aunt Karen would stop by on her way home from work & play "dress up" with her...like she was a baby doll..
Managed to finish cleaning most of the house last night..so todays project was clean my bedroom & put my fall quilt on...last room to go is the guest room...and that is a project for another day....I'm starting to smell dinner (baked fish in foil with potatoes & green beans) so I think I better go check on it...later gang!

Lee: Loved the Flintstones video. Thanks for posting that and the good wishes.

Karen: Thanks for the Anniv wishes.
How is Scooter doing today?
Foil dinners are always good. No pans to clean.

We had a great dinner at a Seafood place. They had half of the tables blocked off. Got there just in time to nab 2 seats at the bar! I actually like eating at this particular bar. Nice to watch the action.

Detroit Tigers lost their Baseball game.

Lots of GOOD FOOTBALL on Sat afternoon.
Both of the Michigan teams are at home. The traffic in Ann Arbor & East Lansing will be UNREAL. The colleges are not exactly close to each other, but the traffic uses the SAME FREEWAYS to get to each stadium. Jill and her gang are going to the
Michigan State game. And tail gating before hand.

Michigan had another 6,000 reported Covid cases this WEEK. Crazy.
Be safe folks . The number on people getting it that are ALREADY VACCINATED seems to be going up. Get your BOOSTER VACCINE ASAP. Sure glad we were able to get ours when we did. I feel like I’ve won the Lottery every time I hear the latest numbers on people ending up with the darn virus.
Good night from Macomb!

Good morning....woke up waaaay to early this morning & could not go back to sleep...decided to pop on & say Hi to all you lovely people...
Kathie, nice pictures of you & Art....so the view from the bar is that cute bartender back there? Just asking...;)

Another cool morning, so I think I'm going to take my coffee to the porch & watch the sun come up....grocery shopping today...not looking forward to braving the weekend crowds...but now I should be able to get an early start...

Smooth as a baby's butt.

That's the feel of our newly paved street. Grab your metal skates ladies, and don't forget the keys.

On Kathi's walk with Fuzzbutt yesterday she noticed that as one part of our neighborhood was getting the old pavement removed, other parts were getting new pavement put down and rolled.

And right on our town's usual schedule. They've been talking about it for at least 20 years, but instead only came out with a patching crew every year.

Happy belated anniversary Art & K2. As the old joke goes, one of you would be out of jail by now.

BB; You do know where you can stick those tasty peppers, onions and sausage sandwiches, don't you? Right in my hand. Good to hear that Rita is feeling better and that she and Bill found a place to stay in Florida. I'm curious as to how much they have to pay to ship their car there.

Amherstburg’s “Uncommon Festival”. Lee, that sounds weird and cool at the same time. Does that mean a lot of people from Wally-World will be there?

I liked your question, KC.
"time goes by so fast these days it's like everything is being fast forwarded....makes me wonder are WE the "commercials" of life?" There's a lot of truth to that.

Just remembered; Yesterday Kathi needed to pick up 2 granddaughters from school at 2:30. She ALMOST didn't make it. Luckily they finished off the road paving in front of our house just 15 minutes before she was to leave.

Good morning from partly cloudy 84 degrees Kiss-my-a$$!

A nice QUIET house! I love it!!! The boarders are off to the beach so the kids can use up some energy, they said. I think they just wanted to get away from us and possibly having to do something we might ask them to do. Last night they went to a Turkish restaurant for dinner. Not sure that would be my cup of tea, but Jimmy said it was one of the best places he's ever eaten! Looking at their menu, I thought the prices were rather high, but it didn't seem to bother them. Nice, when you don't have to pay many bills. and you're living rent/utilities free!

We went to the Grille and I ordered the appetizer special - Onion & bacon pie. It was awful! Turns out the pie part was flatbread and there was little onion & bacon. It totally had no flavor. I ended up getting my old standard garlic cheese wings, most of which I brought home.

Lee - Glad you were able to take the pups for walks yesterday. I'll be curious to hear all about that festival today. I don't blame you for kicking on the heat yesterday. Glad you don't have any bets going on as to who will turn on the heat first! LOL

Kathie - Sounds like an interesting place you and Art went to for dinner. Nice shot of the bartenders butt. You and Art are looking good too! :D
Here's a good one for you - For the second year in a row, I had bought 25 lbs of peaches for the Peach Truck from Georgia. The other day in my email was the same kind of deal but for applies from the Apple Truck from Michigan! Unfortunately, you only get 20 lbs and you don't know what 2 varieties you're going to get. That part I wouldn't like, so I didn't sign up for any apples.

Karen - I too like foil dinners whether done on the grille or in the oven. Right now, we just have too many here for me to do it the way I like.

Dave - Glad your street is done. If I still had and more realistically could, I would have skated on your road. Now you have nothing more to look at for a while.

I'm going to close this post now, as it's time to get out some leftover winds for lunch. Have a wonderful day, everyone. You know the routine! :)

Good afternoon!
Here we are. Another Saturday. How do I know? There's a festival in The Navy Yard and those only happen on weekends! Next weekend is the Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy Show! You can bet I'll be at that one.
What kind of food does one find at a Turkish Restaurant Pat? Ya Dave, I know. Turkish Food. I suppose I had that coming. So you can get Michigan Apples in Florida which is 1170 miles (give or take) but we can't drive the mile across the river to get some here. Sorry The Grille was a bust. I told them to serve sausage, peppers and onions...
Dave, if Wally World patrons were all you needed then every day would be an Uncommon Festival! I always admire freshly laid and rolled asphalt. But like a new car, I also wonder how long until somebody puts a ding or scrape in it.
You must have been up early to beat Dave to the first post of the day Karen! Hopefully you will get that early start at the grocery store. I'm glad that your dinner worked out!
Nice pics of the two of you at the restaurant and those two fellas pouring drinks! What always amazes me with a US college stadium is that it doesn't look THAT big from the outside. Then you go in and realize that it goes down just as far as it goes up! That from attending a game many years ago at the U of M in Ann Arbour!
Our "bubble" is getting together for an outdoor dinner this afternoon with our realtor and his wife. John and Donna are double vaxed too. Kind of a pot luck thing so it should be fun.
I better get a move on. I have to clean myself up after my time on Mr. Treadmill this morning! All of you have a dandy day and we'll see you tomorrow!

Lee - This Turkish restaurant serves a lot of lamb, (including lamb shanks!) beef, chicken and seafoods. Their way of preparing it and how it is served is really different. Missy had black ice cream, toasted marshmallows and dried strawberries for dessert. She loved it. Looked weird to me. If you get a chance, you can check out their website. The name of the place is
Bosphorous Turkish Restaurant. Maybe they have their menu online. It's in Lake Nona.

Time for me to get off here for today. Going to eat an early dinner tonight as the GATORS are playing Tennessee Volunteers.
GO GATORS! :cheerleader::bigwave::cheerleader:Back when we had season tickets, this was the last game I attended! It's going to be a "blue out". That means they are requesting all the fans to wear blue to the game tonight. This is one of our most hated rivals after FSU.

So have a good evening, everyone, and stay safe! :)

Roller Skating Party at Dave & Kathi’s to test out the new Asphalt. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Make sure to bring your knee and elbow pads and helmets?

I dragged out my meat grinding attachment after buying a small Pork Butt at the German meat shoppe. They were getting ready to close and couldn’t grind it for me. I must say I dd a excellent job of figuring out how to attach everything onto my KitchenAid mixer and it did a nice job.
I‘m making Stuffed Cabbage Rolls ( Sarma in Serbian) to freeze for Winter dinners. Don’t ask me why. I have cabbage heads that I’ve soaked in boiling water to get the leaves to be soft and all kinds of other stuff making a disaster of my kitchen counters. I regret doing this already.

I’m on a break right now. Whew.

Lee: I don’t think you should be in any hurry to come over to Michigan for anything ….yet alone Apples. Our Michigan Covid numbers are crazy high this month and getting worse. Art and I can’t wait to get tested to see if we might JUST BE CARRYING THAT BUG around. To many people that have 2 Vaccines are ending up with Covid lately.
Be very careful folks.

The young Bartender, although cute, could be our GRANDSON! Ha ha. He did mix a fantastic drink for me. If I had 2 of those “Side-Car” drinks I would have fallen off the bar stool. Ha ha. It is a great drink if somebody else is driving.
Watching the other Michigan univ right now playong Rutgers. There’s a 10 point difference. U of M is winning 20 - 10 with 14 mins to go in the 4th Quarter. That’s a lifetime in football time.

Pat: The moochers will soon learn how good they had it when the Mortgage bill, taxes , utilities, HOA fee, school cost and FOOD BILLS start piling in. Let them enjoy the few months of eating high on the Hog. It will be over soon enough. Ha ha

Karen: Wow you sure were up early. How’s Scooter doing these days? Better??
Nice that Bill & Rita found a place to stay. Art would like to know how much it costs to ship a car down to Florida too. I know on the Tampa / Sarasota side of Florida you can barely find a car rental. A lot of people are flying into different locations just to be able to rent a car and then DRIVE to Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key, Tampa, etc. Crazy.

Okay, I need to whip up a Chicken Stir Fry for us and then get back to those
Cabbage Rolls. I see this is going to be a 2 DAY project for sure!
We get to go out to dinner for Jill’s Birthday tomorrow. We’ll be able to use the NICE Gift Cert that the choir gave me when I had my knee operation. Any balance will be picked up by Daddy War Bucks! Ha ha.

You all have a nice evening. And
REMEMBER TO GO GREEN AND CHEER FOR MICHIGAN STATE UNIV around 7:00pm.

Here a few not do great pics of the WATER TANK that is under construction in the next Township over from us right up 24 Mile Rd Hard to get pics because there is nowhere to pull over when the workers are there!

Not sure what the first two pictures are, but the are solid re-rod and cement??

Nice chatting with you this evening Dave & Kathi!

Dinner here was super quick and really good. Sometimes I amaze myself! Ha ha

Lee: Loved the Flintstones video. Thanks for posting that and the good wishes.

Karen: How is Scooter doing today? I forgot to ask earlier.
Also forgot to post this and i5 was still just sitting here when I came back hours later.

MICHIGAN STATE UNIV WON over Nebraska. What a nail bitter game. Back and forth and then they finally figured out what they were suppose to do with the football. Crazy game.

Calling it a night.

Lee this is for you!

Good Sunday morning, Bunnies!

A good day for us Wabbits yesterday, the Gators, Trojans, and Buckeyes all win.

First up; I'd like to thank K2 for spending time on the phone last night picking her brain on why our Food-Saver won't suck the air out of the freezer bags. I may have misunderstood her but I swear she mentioned getting out a shotgun and putting the machine out of its' misery.
1f601.png

It is so nice KC to having your coffee as you watch the sun come up. Hope the grocery store wasn't crowded. Which reminds me that we went to Walley World yesterday to pick up a prescription. (They have a special spot in the parking lot where they'll bring it out to you.) Ohio's Covid infection rate keeps going up, and yet while we waited for the prescription to be brought out to us only one person going in or out of the store wore a mask.

"Onion & bacon pie. It was awful!" Just thinking about it makes me believe you BB.

Around here Lee, usually when a road gets paved or repaved a portion of it soon gets dug up because some gas, water, or sewer line under it breaks.

Yesterday Kathi was using her bread making machine to make the crust for some small pizzas to be frozen. Those things are heavy. At least ours is. So while it was doing its' thing with the dough on the kitchen counter, we were watching something on the boob-tube.

Then there was this loud WHAM. That gadget had wiggled its' way off of the counter and crashed to the floor. That WILL get your attention. Never had that happen before.

Surprisingly, the fall didn't hurt the machine at all. But Kathi had to start all over again since the lid opened and the dough rolled onto the floor.

Haven’t you ever heard of the 5 second rule? I’m sure after the crash and bang you were both in the kitchen in well under 5 seconds!
We are headed off to The Navy Yard to walk the pups and then back down to board a ship for a two hour cruise on The Detroit River.

I did want to pop in and say good morning, thanks for the cartoon and restaurant name but above all, to wish you all well today!

Good morning!!

Dave, why is it as I was reading your bread machine adventure I had this mental picture of it frantically wiggling it's way to the back door & freedom while the toaster huddled with the blender saying...if he make's, you're next kid...go for it!

Kathie, you did ask about Scooter earlier, there really isn't any change yet as we aren't doing any treatments until the blood work comes back...hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow...

Lee, uh-oh....be careful..remember the Minnow & it's 2 hr cruise.... :D hope it's smooth sailing & a fun time!!

Pat, wonder what they used to get Black Ice Cream? That alone would be a no go for me....I missed watching the Gator game...that's one bad thing about not getting a newspaper or the tv guide anymore...other than my regular shows I don't know what's on when anymore....the cable box does have a program guide but if I ever did manage to pull it up, I would never be able to figure out how to get back to the channels again...I'm NOT tech savey at all!!

Also not very bright going grocery shopping on a weekend!! I didn't get out as early as I'd hoped....and by the time I was checking out at walmart the lines were terrible as usual! And man oh man have food prices gone up ....lot's of empty shelves & cases at Walmart too...

Jane is coming over around noon to give me a hair cut & have lunch...then later we will meet Barb at the clubhouse for swiming...with the cool nights we've had lately not sure how long we'll stay in the water...or IF we will even make it into the water...now I need to get a few things prepped for lunch...have a wonderful day all!

Good morning! Going to be another comfortable and warm day here in the hood.

Lee - I didn't realize that that Turkish restaurant has more all over the place, even where J&J live. I wonder if they have been there yet. Enjoy your cruise! Sounds like a fun time. We have a number of short 2-3 hour cruises down here too, but rarely have we ever done one. We did do the Rivership Romance out of Sanford which is actually a luncheon or dinner cruise. We did it with a whole group that used to hang out here or on CC together. Did you come with us on that one, Karen? Food was so good and the scenery along the St John's River was a real treat.

Dave - I can well imagine you and Kathi jumping when you heard that bang. I know anytime we've heard a bang, we've ran to find out what it was. You always know it's not going to be a good thing.

Kathie - Glad you are keeping busy in the kitchen. Better you than me! I'm lying low until Tuesday when I have to make the corned beef and cabbage dinner for the gang. I do still have to finish up the key lime pie for tonight. That's going to be a huge water tower when it's done. Enjoy your dinner going out to celebrate Jill's birthday. You're starting to live dangerously ... Out for your anniversary and now today too!! LOL

Karen - Our nights have not been very cool. It's only cooling off here into the mid to high70s. Where you are has always been cooler this time of the year and during the winter. Have fun with your sisters today. I hope the pool isn't too cook for you.

House is nice and quiet. The moochers are off to brunch at the Grille and then going to go swimming for a couple of hours to wear the kids out. They sure were wound up this morning! We have absolutely nothing planned for the day. May or may not watch some football this afternoon. Time will tell.

Two football games really thrilled me yesterday. The Gator game of course, plus I watched the second half of the Clemson-NC State game. SO glad to see NC State win that one, as that's the college Brian went to when he moved to NJ. Both teams did good, but by Clemson losing, the Gators should move up into the top 10 this week!!!

I see you the clock on this computer that it's time to make something for lunch, so I'm out of here for now. Have a wonderful afternoon and keep those masks on. :)
