Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Work on your howling guys. Tonight is a full moon. I can't tell you what a howling Bunny sounds like, but I'd bet it's not very loud.

I too am pleased that the "justice for the J6" rally fizzled, K2. I wonder what the next trick up their sleeve will be to give themselves and the Buffoon attention. Now why wouldn't Art trust you with paint? Something tells me there's been an interesting incident in the past. As for tonight's Lions/Packers game.......I wouldn't put a lot of money on the Lions.

I'll be honest BB; Once the Caddy is fixed, I'm not holding my breath waiting for you to trade it in. I had a feeling that the electric Cadillac starting price would be way up there.

That small version of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra concert sounds cool Lee. Was it as good as you expected?

Good for you KC, at least one of us got some pool time.

Yes, all our electronic gadgets are still working. But I know that it doesn't stay that way for long. What's next, the printer spitting out blank sheets all over the room?

Good morning! We were up early, so Bert could take the car in to the repair shop. I'll get to that in a bit.

Lee -It's so nice that you have things like that concert in your area. We had an event here Saturday night - an ABBA tribute band - but you had to buy tickets to it. Originally G&E wanted to go, so I bought tickets for the 4 of us, but there ended up being something going on with Elaine's family that they had to go to instead. I was able to return the tickets & get my money back. I saw a video of one song they did and it wasn't even very good, so I'm glad we didn't go.

Kathie - We have no intention of buying an electric Cadillac. Heck, we definitely won't be buying something brand new either. I'd rather let someone else take that big hit driving it out of the dealership for the first time. Not even sure what we'll get yet. Whatever we end up with, it had to have a trunk to keep all my "stuff", like the scooter or wheelchair out of sight. An SUV will not work for us, so with what the car manufacturers are making these days, that really limits our choices. Needs to be a sedan with a big trunk.

Karen - Glad you at least got in some pool time before the rains came. It rained off and on all afternoon and into the night around here and it looks like the same thing is going to happen here again. Another night of not making it to the Grille!

Dave - There definitely will be the purchase of another car in the next month or so. Even Bert has mentioned it a number of times, which is something he hadn't done recently. Biggest problem is finding the RIGHT car. I just know that with all the flooding around the country, it will be time to make sure it isn't one that shipped in from one of those areas. I had a friend who once got burned on a flooded car and we aren't going to let that happen to us.

Now for the story you've all been waiting for ... Bert's trip to the car repair shop!! Like I said we were up early, so that they would be able to check out the car right away. Seems like once again the Caddy decided to get weird and not have any warning lights light up on the dash. The steering was fine and not tight like it was the other day. Bottom line was that the shop told Bert that they can't fix something when there appears to be nothing wrong! The guy said that sometimes the computer resets itself after it has a hissy fit. This car is definitely showing it's age!!

I'm making lamb shanks in the crock pot today. This is one of Bert & my favorites. They literally come out fall off the bone tender. Lamb shanks have always been a "must have" when they served it on a cruise. Trouble making them at home gets expensive as they usually come from Australia, so Bert gets them 2 at a time and freezes them for future use. It's less painful that was and besides, the stores don't always have them. So that's my story and I'm sticking with it!! LOL

On that note, I'm going to get off here for a bit and start prepping dinner for the crock pot. Have an excellent day, everyone. Stay safe, wear your mask, and wash your hands! :)

Good morning friends.
OK, so I owe the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and apology. They started with a pretty traditional classical tune. Then they jumped forward to New Orleans Jazz and jumped a bit more to 1953 and Satin Doll by the Great Duke Ellington. From there it was on to movie music written by John Williams and finished up with music from Disney's The Mandalorian. The Brass Quintet's 30 minute concert ran for an hour! A great way to spend an hour by the river on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Geez Pat, that's good news, nothing they can find, and bad news, nothing that can find, all rolled into one with The Caddy. Lu-Ann had a car like that once. The least sign of wet weather and it would act up. Into the shop, let them run a hose over the engine bay and it behaved like it was brand new. I guess the same can be said for your ABBA tribute! They are such an iconic part pf music history and should NEVER be poorly done! I guess you need to use CARFAX I think it's called to verify the history of any new vehicle!
Well Dave, have you ever heard a Bunny scream? I'm serious here. The Greys caught a couple of bunny's in our old back yard. They didn't intentionally hurt them but the bunnies let out a blood curdling scream of terror. Fir for Hallowe'en I would say. I sure hope that your printer doesn't take to doing that! That would make you and Kathi scream too!
It seems that a number of senator's have asked President Biden to open the border, as we have, to FULLY vaccinated Canadians. With the recent closure set to expire tomorrow somebody better decide to extend and or implement new rules Kathie. Either way, we won't be first in line to go shopping at Partridge Creek! Especially if the expensive clear test result must still be presented to get back home!

Everything I Google is like reading GREEK.
How much easier it would be if it were like reading Serbian. ;)
I hope that your paint had a chance to dry before. the rains came Karen. Nice though that you got some pool time.
I see that Bill's beloved Patriots beat the snot out of Eddie's Jets yesterday in week 2 of the NFL. Now there's a couple of names from the past. Bill and Eddie! I do sincerely hope that they and their families are all doing well.
I better get out the Vaseline. We're supposed to be trying "Corn Hole" again this afternoon.

That kid with the banjo in Deliverance is just plain odd looking...
Have a fantastic Monday!

…and there you have it. The land border between Katie and I remains closed until at least October 21. But we can fly across. And fully vaccinated US citizens are allowed to drive in to Canada. I don’t get it. To quote Jimmy Buffett, “The whole damned world’s gone crazy. The moon is jumping over the cow”.

Good Afternoon!
I'm in here trying to get ready to pay some bills online and thought I'd check in.

LEE: Are you saying that we USA Citizens can now cross into Canada without the 72 hour Covid test? I'll have to see that in writing to prove it to Artie Boy! And BOO on not letting you Canadians in until Oct 21st. (and then they'll extend it again.) They let the "folks" in around the Texas & California borders from Mexico without vaccines and not you folks. I'm starting to go to the "RIGHT" and agree with the GOP that we need to shut down the Southern Borders. Either that or we need to all move into Mexico since it must be about empty by now!

Pat: I have to tell you that getting your Scooter into a SEDAN can't be as EASY as getting it into something like my Corsair. It's flat and if you want it even FLATTER you just push a button and the seat go down. You could sleep in the back of that thing. And you would be able to get IN and OUT of the front seat much easier than a Sedan. You really need to give the SUV's a try to see what I'm talking about. They are not like a VAN. Bert would appreciate the space in the back and the fact that it's FLAT and easy to load.
Your Lamb Shanks sound so yummy. We LOVE Lamb Shanks.

DAVE: I have to agree with you about the Detroit Lions. We'll be watching the game tonight only because it's our HOME TEAM, but I don't hold out for a WIN!
Art doesn't like me to paint because I have no patience. Ha Ha. How wrong can this man be. I've put up with him for all these years. That takes some major patience in my book.

He's PAINTING the back door that leads to the garage right now. It was installed primed, but needed to get a nice Bright White - Sherwin Williams coat of paint on it. Looks better already and he's only got one side done! :) He's waiting for his PATCH work on the garage floor to cure before moving along with that project. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

Lee: Good to know that you did enjoy the concert in the park. Heck, even if it was horrible music the fact that you were able to be out in the fresh air would make it okay in my book.
Just as long as it wasn't overly LOUD!

Karen: So just what's on your list of things to do today and this week? Hope the rain stays away for awhile over your way.

Once I get done with paying these few bills I'm going to make us some Blueberry Scones. The price of Blueberries made a huge jump this past week. Might be the last B-Scones for awhile.

You all behave and stop by and let us know how your day went. Love reading your posts.

Good afternoon!
Pat, don't you just LOVE taking a car that isn't working right to the shop & then it act's just fine...I swear sometimes the cars are out to drive us crazy....good luck on the search for a new one...

Lee, sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon yesterday....
And yes...the paint on the
edger's was nice and dry before the rains arrived...luckily!!

Kathie, you will have to pass along your blueberry scone receipe...I had a good one for Cranberry scones...but the last time I made them they didn't come out as fluffy as the first batch...I'm guessing I "worked" the dough to much...

Dave, glad to hear the TV's are still all functioning as they should...I just hope that if the printer does start spitting things out that blanks sheets is ALL it spits...

Another not much going on kind of day...I am working on repainting a wooden snowman decoration for Barb...it's slow going because each section has to dry before I start a new one so I don't end up putting my arm in the wet paint...almost done & then I need to try to find a SMALL set of white lights for it...it has cut outs for 10 lights...and most of the plug in lights are not that small...we don't want battery because it's on a timer with her other outside lites...
Tomorrow is mow day at Jane's..."IF" it isn't raining...
And Hoorah!! The new television season finally starts this week...they have shuffled my shows on CBS, so not to thrilled about that...but will be nice to have something new to watch for a change!!
Jane sent home some Bourbon Chicken with me yesterday & that is going to be tonites dinner....now I think I'll do a little reading on the back porch...enjoy your Monday all!

Man, does it ever smell good in here! I love the smell of lamb cooking, especially when it has lots of garlic in with it! ;)

Kathie - We don't want a car that , if someone walks past the side of the car that they can look in the window and see what's in the back of the vehicle. That's why we want a sedan. I'm thinking of a Chrysler 300 as a possible, if we can't find a Caddy that we might like. At this point, it's just going to be hard enough finding a used car that we'd want!

Karen - You are too ambitious painting a Christmas decoration for your sister's yard already. You just can't slow down, can you? I too am glad to see the new TV season starting this week.

Kathie - My scooter breaks down into pieces and Bert just keeps it in the trunk, minus the battery which he keeps in the house. It really isn't a big problem getting the parts into the trunk, as long as Bert follows HIS SYSTEM! The wheelchair folds easily, so that too fits in. The scooter costs a lot and I'd hate to have someone break into the car and steal it.
Your scones sound good. I want to make a batch of blueberry muffins one day this week. if I get a chance.

Time to take a break and pick up my book for a little while. Have a good rest of the afternoon!:)

We went and visited our new Township Library. Oh my goodness what a BEAUTIFUL structure. It's beyond perfect. I'll have to get some pictures for you all to see. I didn't have my phone with me.

DAVE: I saw this on Fbook. Let Kathi see it. I know how much she LOVES PUMPKIN! LOL

FYI PAT: I checked my side and back window and they are TINTED. You would have to put your nose right into the glass on the windows to see inside. And on Art's car there is a pull-screen that goes over items in the back hatch area.
I'm not going down without a fight! Ha Ha. (just kidding)

Not a whole lot of gabbiness in me this morning.

Printer didn't start spitting out papers yesterday, but it ran out of ink.

It got muggy and into the upper 80's yesterday. Something that will be rare soon. More likely in the 70's and 60's.

I too am a fan of SUVs over sedans. Which are nothing like vans. And most SUVs have dark tinted glass toward the rear of the vehicle so people can't tell what's in there. They are also easier to get in and out of.

I did pass on the cookie recipe to Kathi.

Be good Wabbits.

Good rainy morning after an election that sees Justin Trudeau retain his minority government. There’s 60 million bucks spent to get the same government we had yesterday morning!
Cardiac rehab today. That means an early breakfast for me. Like now…
Very quickly, Kathie I’m sorry if my note confused you. (No comments Tony, wherever you are…). You still need the proof of a negative test to cross from the US to Canada by air, boat or car. We can’t drive across the border at all unless we are deemed essential workers.
Gonna finish up my yogurt and berries, feed the pups and if it’s not pouring, wake Lu-Ann to try to get the pups walk in before I go.
You all be safe and sound please. Back later…

No Howling around here last night cloudy & raining...again!! Heading out to mow in a few minutes just wanted to Pop in & say good morning...

Tired Monday Morning GIF by Muffin & Nuts
Just little ole me stopping by to wish you all a FANTASTIC TUESDAY!

Lee: "Me CONFUSED".... ha ha when does that happen? (always)
Congrats on keeping Justin Trudeau in office. You can call him the 60 MILLION dollar man!

We never got the rain last night or earlier this morning, but IT'S COMING and once it gets here it will be staying until Wednesday night. Just in time to water the grass for us again!

cat rain GIF by marko

Karen: Hope the mowing goes well for you today. Maybe you'll be able to cool off in the pool afterwards! Hope you get a Take-Home dinner for your efforts!

Pat: You would love our new library. They made it so user friendly. They even have a lighted space in the floor with things from the times we are in and a SEALED BRONZE TIME CAPSULE that will be opened Sept 19, 2071. The fact that you can see different small items around the large shiny Time Capsule instead of burying it in the ground or in the cornerstone cement is really a neat idea. They even have a area that has a electric scooter and wheelchair at the front door. Thought of everything. A table with books that are "FREE TO TAKE"! Nice touch.

DAVE: Thanks for passing on the Pumpkin Recipe to Kathi. If she makes them let me know if they're any good. I'm not all that big on Pumpkin. I do like a slice of good Pumpkin Roll. But only one slice and then I'm over it.

I'm off to the EYE doctor right around the corner from us to have a 2 year check up. JOY, JOY. I get to have those NASTY DROPS in my eyes and look like a DRUG ADDICT! Ha Ha.

lana del rey love GIF

Have a good day and be SAFE. The NUMBERS are going up FAST EVERYWHERE. People are just NOT behaving.

Good morning, everyone! Looks like the last one checking in this morning. I have to agree with Karen about there not being any howling at the moon around here either. It poured until very late, so there was no sign of the moon anywhere around here.

Kathie - A few years ago we had looked at a Cadillac SRX at the dealership. Even went for a ride in it, but Bert wouldn't test drive it and said he didn't like it, even though it had the piece that covered over anything in the back. If I remember correctly, Tony had one for a short while but really didn't like it that much and traded it in, I believe, for the Vette. He said it wasn't very comfortable, so I was glad we didn't get it after all. I know you sit higher in it and that was what I liked best about that vehicle. Our quest for what we want will start soon.
Good luck with those yucky eye drops. I always hate those things.

Lee - Do good today at your cardi rehab. Did you manage to get the dogs out for a walk before going to rehab? Congrats to your PM on his reelection.

Dave - Enjoy these warm days while you can. Winter will be there soon enough! Are leaves starting to turn color yet? I doubt it with all the warm weather you've been getting. That to me was one of the best things living up north. In about another week we would take the kids apple picking in NY State and the colors of the hills and mountains were breathtaking. Used to pick 2 bushels of apples, kept them cold in the garage and had apples all the way through Easter! I used to bake a lot back in those days, so it was great to have them so handy.

Karen - So after you mow, what's on tap? Pool time? If so, get it in while you can before the rains return once again.

Not a lot planned for today. Might just talk Bert into going out for lunch to the new Italian restaurant that just opened where Beef O Brandy's used to be. The people who own the place live here in Bellalago and actually wanted to take over the Grille one time when it was empty. They're much better off with where they are now.

Have a wonderful day, gang. Stay safe and don't do anything stupid!! :)

So here I sit in the exam room. Passed the pressure test and reading of the “Letter Chart”! Just got the drops and waiting on the nice lady doctor to come in.

It is gloomy overcast outside right now. Going to rain REAL SOON! I see a flag blowing in the distance, so the wind has picked up.
I wish all my doctor appointments were this easy and smooth going. Nice to just relax and know I have 20/20 vision and things are good.
I did ask the young tech to get me a new prescription for night driving. With my
Mono- vision it’s nice to get things a tad clearer when driving at night. Not that I do much of that lately.

Okay, I’ll stop boring you folks.
Pat how were those Lamb Shanks? What did you have with them? Potatoes, Rice or Noodles? All would be good.
We’re going to have Spaghetti Squash with Pork chops tonight. Quick and easy. Not sure I will be able to use the grill if it’s raining for the meat. Time will tell. The awning would help keep me or Art dry!

Later!

Good afternoon!
Cardiac (still like to specify...) Rehab was great today! I had a very good session on the treadmill completing 30 minutes at a speed of 3.6 mph. There was a big group today and a couple of new folks. We had a new kinesiologist, Ross, who I'm afraid to say isn't as personable as the rest of the group. Very abrupt with everyone. Too bad as the rest of the team is so good!
We didn't get the pups walk in this morning but we did when I got home. Then we had an order of Brussel Sprouts from Salty Dog, right across from The Navy Yard, for lunch. I dropped Lu-Ann at the grocery and filled the van's gas tank and went back to get her. The pups do love their car rides!
Good to see (pun intended) that everything went well at the eye doc's Kathie. That is quite the building they have built for the library! Your tax dollars at work. The rains have started here and don't look to want to let up until possibly late Thursday! That scuttles building Jim and Gail's fence over the next couple of days.
You'll have to let us know how the Italian place is Pat. Still, a shame about Beef's. Looks like the furthest south the chain is now is Kingsport, TN. One in Saginaw, MI and a few in OH. I really think that with the tinted windows and possible the available cargo cover you'd be just fine in a nice Caddy SUV. They sure are a smart looking vehicle!
I do hope that the wet grass doesn't make it too hard to mow today Karen. that is the one downfall with our battery mower. If the grass is too thick or wet run time is really effected. If you can get a small string of lights at Dollar General could you put a male plug on one end? Then you could plug them in.
Now you are faced with the age old conundrum Dave, do we buy a cartridge for the printer or a whole new printer. That's the thing we face when we need ink. The high yield black ink for the Canon model we have is usually about $60.00. A new Canon printer with new ink and technology is about the same price if you can get them on sale. And people with SUV's don't get asked to help move things that won't fit in the SUV. They call their friends with vans...just sayin' from experience.
Well now look at that. It's all most wine 30. A wee dram of red wine is good for the heart they say. In this case I have to agree!
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. Stay well, safe and it doesn't matter if you smile because you all have your masks on in public, Right?

It is just pouring!
so, with that, I bid you all a very goodnight.

Lee: The rain hadn’t stopped here, and of course the creek is up big time.
Art is busy building the ARK!
Maybe we can pick you &
Lu-Ann up and of course the pups! :D
Bad thing is this is suppose to go on all night and ALL DAY Wednesday! Crazy.
Take care gang.

Happy first day of fall, Bunnies!

I've got to know K2, what's under that new library's dome? Happy that your eye test came out good. Hope you had some good sunglasses to wear getting home, with your big dilated eyes.

3.6 mph on the treadmill makes you quit the speedster compared to me, Lee. I don't do even half of that speed. An order of brussels sprouts for lunch? You're kidding, right? No new printer for us. Replacing the ink cartridges is a lot easier than unboxing and setting up a new printer.

You have my sympathies on your quest for a newer car, BB. I HATE car buying. No matter what you pay for a vehicle you still know that you are getting screwed on the deal, or they wouldn't have sold it to you. There was no sign of the moon for us either. All cloudy. So no sighting of the full moon. (Harvest Moon.)

Hope the mowing went well for you KC. Plus some pool time. Got your ticket for the "Powerball" lottery yet? It's well over 400 millions dollars.

Looks like it'll be an all day rain here today. So much for doing anything outside.

Yesterday the city was setting up to remove the old surface of our street, and a few streets around us. And then repave it. They never did get that accomplished. Too much light rain for them? Which probably ticked off a couple of people. A city cop was having cars parked on the street towed away since the owners ignored the no-parking signs.

With all the rain, I doubt if any progress will be made today either.
