Ooops, I forgot Sunflower! I'm sorry,

I found some Sweet Nothings cranberry dessert wine. I hope that is satisfactory.

That is a great picture of Mary Ann, Judi. Thanks. Was that taken on one of her cruises?

I was shocked to read of this when I logged on for the first time in years, just yesterday. I am so sorry to hear of her death. My condolences to everyone her knew her well, and those of us who just knew she was a great lady.

Hoping this one doesn't get lost......

Good Morning. Yes it is a good morning and we are in a beautiful place to remember and to share memories of a beautiful woman. Thank you Charles for having us all together. It has been wonderful to read all of the tributes and to see all of the photographs that have been posted. I hope those of you that have posted photos don't mind if I steal one or two of them. I was in the process of making a FRIEND word book for Mary Ann but now I will make the book about my friend Mary Ann and keep it for myself. Not that I need a book to remember Mary Ann....she was unforgettable!

I have my two little furry friends with me this morning. They are over the moon to find themselves in Hawaii. They are looking for Mary Ann and Pucci though and it is very difficult to explain to them what has happened. They brought some of their favourite biscuits to share with their pals...Potato and Duck treats. I think they believe that the biscuits are for ducks as well as dogs and don't realize they are made with duck! LOL

As I type this I would love to sip away on the morning Mama Duck special...a double Cappuccino please! It was one of Mama Duck's favourites and it's one of mine too.

My last visit with Mary Ann was at Christmas. No she wasn't here with us (how I wish that had been so) but she sent us the most beautiful arranged bouquet of fragrant flowers. I gasped with delight every time I walked through my living room and every time my eyes fell on that bouquet I felt like I was receiving a hug. The bouquet lasted well into the New Year...in fact the greenery lasted into February and in all that time I felt like Mary Ann was here with me. This tender gift was just one in a series of many lovely surprises that came from Mary Ann....but the real gift was Mary Ann. She always gave herself completely and freely and I loved her for that.

Mary Ann, We love you and we will always miss you but you will be in our hearts and memories forever. Aloha 'Oe dear friend.

Re: Weekend Open House - Part 2

I too missed posting yesterday but have read everyones posts both yesterday and today. The tears continue to flow even tho I never met or talked to MaryAnn she was a presence on this board that projected the type of wonderful person she was in life. She was there for me when I lost both of my dogs and was always so supportive. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your wonderful stories of her and I know how much she will be missed. My prayers and hugs for all of you that were so close as your loss will be so much greater than mine.

I'm not good with words so will just end with what a very special person she was and will be soooooooo missed.

Mahalo SGM and Beryl! What a pretty bouquet.

And a special Big HI to the two furry terrors, who must have names. But I can't find them.

A latte and a double cappuccino are on their way.

Yet another beautiful and very appropriate venue, Charles! Thank you!
I'll start with a double Cappuccino, just as Mary Ann used to do.
It's the "waffle day" here in Sweden today so I brought some to share.

Molle is joining me today as usual, and he's looking forward to some scritches and to meet all his furry friends.

Re: Weekend Open House - Part 2

Thank you Charles, for doing this Open House for us this weekend....such a kind tribute to our friend, Mary Ann...

I will also join in for a Double Cappuccino, and just sit and think about things...

Rudee and Kitty would love to visit with the fur-friends, and maybe a few scritches too :)

Mary Ann had this uncanny way of making each of us feel like we were truly one of her very special friends...don't know how she pulled that off?

....and so, another example of her kindness...

I was going in for some surgery a few years back, and I was quite apprehensive about a possibly dealing with cancer again. I remember talking with some folks here of my fears and worries late at night before the surgery.

The next day as I was recovering in the hospital, I got a call from my sister-in-law. She said "A lady called me, and wanted to know how you were doing....said her name was Mary Ann, and that she was a friend." My SIL went on to say, that she had asked for the number at the hospital and if it was okay to call. My dear SIL then said, "I hope it's okay that I gave her the number, she sounded like such a nice lady!

Then a bit later, yep....I got a call from our Mary Ann. She wanted to know if I was okay, and what were the findings of the labs. I got a "no cancer" from my doctor, and Mary Ann was so happy to hear that too. We talked, and I know I was pretty well doped up from all the pain meds, but Mary Ann was so sweet and so understanding.....she gave me lots of encouragement and over-the-phone hugs....

She truly was a one of a kind, a classy gal, the most caring, sharing, generous soul....and the best friend to all of the fur-buddies.

I will never forget her, and the mark she has left on my very soul....

God bless you dear friend...

Hi Reggae. What a nice story.

Big Hi's to Rudee and Kitty! I believe Maw is still here. But if not, I'm here to give scratches.

Of course Erik. Here are two large ones.

And if something more is desired, then just ask.We are right by the bar. So their are lots to choose from.

And since Erik has some freshly made rum punch, I think I'll have a double cc and soda.
