Qiacl Quack still moving very careful here after this mornings tumble. Penny came with great gr4ands and helped with house work so we are ready for Jan tomorrow or next day. Better news yet Penny says 3 more weeks and she can book the Quack cruise so we will be traveling with Paw and I . My granddaughter Jamie is set to be her room mzte Penny is nurse like Joanne and always working as many hours as she can to get some of this fun with us. She was on amigos cruise and has fond memories of so many of you.

[small]QUACK QUACK[/small] from a very worn-out and frustrated Mama Duck. Our sessions literally went from shortly after 7:00am to around 10:00pm (or later) every day until last night, and I returned home a little while ago to find my desktop computer not working - won't go beyond the initial blue screen, but I can hear that something in the guts of the CPU isn't working AGAIN. Of course, my records are on my desktop, not my laptop from which I'm posting now.

Maw - you took ANOTHER tumble?? :(

Sis - glad you and Mal had a fabulous time.

Tobyn - of course I was disappointed not to meet you and Bread, but we'll make up for it in San Francisco!

I hope everyone is well, and I apologize for any missed birthdays, anniversaries, etc. etc.

Mama Duck

Maw, hope you don't hurt too much. Tumbles and fumbles are no fun! Be careful.

MaryAnn, pc problems are no fun either! Hope you figure out what is going on, and it's not too bad.

DD came home for a while today, and I dragged her to COSTCO for some food shopping. We bought a lot of refrigerated foods, most come in double packs, so we split everything in half. Worked out great, neither of us ended up with too much food for two.

Gas is down to $3.19 here. OMG, that's amazing. Never thought I'd see it that low again! Yahoo!!! :party

Maw, pace yourself and please be careful, looking forward to see guys in August. Mary Ann it may be time to get a new laptop with a back up system. Gas here in Myrtle beach is down to $2.79, a for us winter has struck, the temps at night are in the 40's.

QUACK QUACK Good morning Ducks and DITS and welcome back Momma Duck, Tobyn and Barb! Congrats on the success in the casino to the Alaska Duo. :thumb

Winter arrived this morning in the Old Dominion too....frost on the pumpkin this morning! Cutes, our leaves are just turning and starting to fall....but with these cold temps I am sure it's going to take off this week!

I filled up my tank yesterday for $2.67 when I was over by my niece's house but my usual station is at $2.75.

It was a hectic weekend with both my sisters down from NJ and helping my niece move. It was utter Chaos! Leatherneck and the Grandsons really enjoyed going to the Redskins game yesterday and the win made it all the better!

Guess that about catches me up with you all. One week closer we get!

QUACK-QUACK !

Maw - Please be careful. Don't need you bunged up. Incentive ... If you get hurt, then Paw will have to play nurse. Very scary thought!

ShipMaven - Welcome home. Sounds as though you're at odds over your 'vacation'. Had a great time but worked too hard doing it. Know you got a lot of great info to help guide us along in the future. Thanks. By the way, did you read that Bruce and I are fellow high school alumni? Yeppers. Same school = same basic values. Hmmmmmm. Guess that explains a lot, doesn't it?

Had our first frost here on Saturday night. Leaves are dropping like crazy and the geese have started heading south (smart gooses!). Hoping our housing market turns around before too darn long and we can join them in that migration.

Spoke w/Mariposa yesterday. The cancer has returned, and she's preparing to resume the fight. Strong gal, but everyone's support will (naturally) be appreciated. Said the finances don't look real good for her to join is in August but,, at a minimum, she is planning on linking up with us (mini-meet) in San Francisco. Will be good to finally meet in RT.

SunFlower has almost completed her recovery from the surgery. have another week till the stitches come out, but there have not been any complications (other than spilling a bowl of ice-cream while doing the "lay down and elevate the foot" thing). She has the house all decorated for Halloween. Ghosties and gobblineses all over the place. NO bats though (sorry duskbat).

DD and family will be visiting for Turkey Week. That's going to be fun. Looking into hay rides and cider mills. Maybe a cornfield maze of two.

Good morning you bunch of Quackers! ! ! Maw, didn't we have this talk about no more tumbles? Sure hope you have no more of those. You have to be fit and fiesty for next August. Mary Ann, you weren't kidding about being busy at your conference. Wow, what long days. Sorry to hear about your desktop. I understand how frustrating computer problems can be. Hope it ends up being an easy (or at least inexpensive) fix.

Have a great day everyone.

Oh yeah . . . . .QUACK ! ! !

Calgon - sorry to hear that SunFlower had surgery. I hope it was nothing serious.

Yes, we were VERY busy during our conference, but I have lots of new info on shore excursion providers, hotel packages, cruises (of course), etc. Just need to sort out the mounds of info after I get the computerS (plural) sorted out. It appears the hard drive on my desktop may have bitten the dust (HOPEFULLY, the external backup has done its job), and I seem to have a glitch on my laptop that won't let me open Word documents. The proverbial "when it rains, it pours". The keyboard on my laptop is a bit different from my regular one, so I'm constantly hitting some wrong keys. Do I sound frustrated?!?!? I'm just getting accustomed to my new BlackBerry, too, so I'm going batty (ducky?) with keyboard configurations.

Off to find a new computer - maybe. I really don't want Vista, and I'm not sure my peripherals will work with Vista. Hopefully, they'll do a downgrade to XP if I find something......

I can't even access my duck gifs, cartoons, etc...

Edited to add: oh geez - Bruce and Calgon went to the same school for delinquents? THAT explains a lot!!!!!!!

Mornin' Duckies!!!

Calgon - I hope that Sunflower is well today.

Shipmaven - I'm sorry about your computer(s)...I hope you get it worked out very soon as it is frustrating.

Nothing much is happening here except for work and getting ready for Ryan to come home. YIPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!
He'll be here Oct 30 - Nov 11 - not including travel days, so we will have an Early Thanksgiving. Ryan and I work
well in the kitchen together, and that is one of the things I miss about his not living here - our cooking together. I can't wait. Plus, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Silly I know, because I spend so many hours on my feet. But we cook so much that for 4 days we have enough for leftovers and the family all comes back daily for lunch and we play dominoes. It is a lot of fun.

A little bragging here...you know when your kid has grown up when he/she makes his/her own air reservations, own car rental reservation and PAYS for it him/herself. :lol Gotta love it and be so proud!! :)

Okay - off to the shower and then to my home away from home...work. I just have to keep saying to myself...I work to cruise, I work to vacation, I work to cruise, I work to vacation...I Must see the World!!! :lol

Happy Day!!

:wave Good morning Duckies. Another cool autumn morning here in Metro DC. I LOVE this time of year. Not much new...just wanted to QUACK in :lol

Quack
Quack-hope the computer problems are soon behind you Mama Duck. Ready and waiting here for Jan t come and spend a few days with us. If the weather will behave have some short trip ideas fr the area otherwise we can sit and talk and remember past cruises from the albums.. Paw is in kitchen cooking up a storm. We so seldom have company think he is as excited as I am. One thing it gets us both in gear catching up on housework. .. Ready for a cruise with the quacked up group-Joanne you know Penny will be right there ready for all the fun. Wonder what Jamie will think of Maw and Paw's extended family.

Quacking around the house here.

Good morning, DDD's. I hope everyone is staying well.

Computer Tech is coming this morning to see if he can retrieve data off the old computer, (and HOPEFULLY my backup system has been doing its job!!), install my new one and fix the glitch in my laptop. Please keep your feathers and webbed feet crossed.

I hope I can check back later and say that I've been fixed - er, wait - in furbaby language, that's the wrong thing to say. :grin I hope my COMPUTERS will be up and running!

Good afternoon, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a rainy 57 degrees.

Today is my first day back to work. It took me all morning to wade through over 400 emails! :dizzy :dizzy

Tomorrow is Meghan Anne's 13th Birthday....now the fun begins!!!!!! :party :party :party :party

Hope everyone has a nice & safe day! :thumb :thumb

San Francisco Fact: The first plans of the city were drawn by Jean-Jacques Vioget (Swiss) and Jasper O' Farell ( Irish). .

Quackers to everyone ....

First, SunFlower is doing very well. Recovery is almost complete. Her foot is just a little too sore to kick my tail feathers, so I'm doing well (for right now). Don't know why she would want to do that, unless it has something to do with my being a drake, as opposed to a hen ... "sigh" (I mean "quack"), I suppose, considering that view ... I probably do deserve it.

Second, I don't want anyone to think that Bruce, and/or I, went to a military boarding high school because we were 'problem children'. Nothing could be further from the truth. Such rumors are, most likely, being spread by other critters (phalmingos, etc). The truth is that we didn't become 'problem children' until much later ....

Did I get that right, Master?
