Great picture of you and your bride sprinting to the finish line. Months ago it wasn't fun for you, but having so much of your "plumbing" updated sure paid off. And you wondered, not that long ago, if you'd be able to do the 5K.

I've got to know, KC; Has Ginger ever brought you a mouse or other little critter, and dropped it at your feet? Very smart of you getting contractors in to remodel Barb's bathroom, instead of trying to do it all by yourself.

Hope you slept better last night, K2. It's such a pain when you can't go to sleep because your brain is going 100 miles an hour. I did watch "Saturday Night Live". That opening with the Ukrainian choir was excellent.

A while ago you asked how our cruise refund is going,....Strangely it has begun showing up as credits on our credit card. I say strangely because of the way they are doing it. Instead of just giving us one credit it's coming in a little bit at a time. We had paid for the suite, shore excursions at every port, drink packages and I can't remember what else. So instead of adding all these charges up and sending one refund, we're getting a whole bunch of separate refunds.

But at least we are FINALLY getting it.

Plans for today? Using the treadmill, having hot wings for breakfast, and starting to watch some shows we recorded last night.

One of Kathi's sons stopped over yesterday to help us get the super heavy stationary bike he gave us out of the living room, down the basement steps, and put next to the treadmill. Him and me were at the bottom with the heavy end and Kathi was on the upper steps with the lighter end. That was so nice of him to volunteer.

I mentioned to Kathi that 10 years ago just her and me could have done it. And 20 years ago I could have done it alone. Oh the times they are a-changin.

Good morning everyone.
Ava and I have been out for our walk. I’ll roust Katie in a bit. It’s so nice and quiet around 6:00 morning.
I’m taking Lu-Ann to The Springs to meet Jan and Gail for their annual “Girl’s Shopping Day”. I‘ll hold a place in line at Gideon’s Bake House because Gail is just aching to try their cookies. She’s driving in from Zepherhills to Jan’s place. Once the cookies have been obtained I will drive back to the house. That way the gals don’t have to carry them around all day.
That’s really kind of Kathi’s son to help move the bike to the exercise area Dave. Pretty smart to make sure it was used before moving it down. Just in case it needed to go back. Does Kathi ever get on the equipment?
Thank you for the kind comments on the picture. I sent it as well as my medal picture to The Cardio Rehab Unit. They asked if they could use it in their newsletter. They may call for a chat today!

Good morning...kind of a foggy start to the day but according to the weather guesser's it will clear up & be sunny later on today.

Dave, glad to hear the refund is starting to show up on the credit card. That's the same way our refund came back in 2020 when our cruise got cancelled...in 2 refunds...taxes & port fees were a separate refund..
Nope Ginger has never brought any "presents" like that thank goodness...she does occasionally go after a lizard until I either rescue it or lock her up in another room so it can escape...

Kathie, I hope last night was more restful for you...nothing worse than not being able to shut off your mind...

Lee, Fingers crossed that at least 1 of the contractors shows up & doesn't try to finance his kids college, wedding & first home on the bathroom remodel....we will be buying the majority of the fixtures & supplies so that should help some....did you get cookies to go with that coffee?

First off: LEE that was one FANTASTIC article that the Cardiac Rehab posted about your 5K Run. It's amazing they did it in record time. Congratulations! Love to see a success story like that.
I saw all the pictures on Fbook of your run, but must say it again YOU and LU-ANN look great.

Dave: Must be a nice feeling to have that bike downstairs where it belongs. Kudos to the nephew and Kathi and you for getting it downstairs without any injuries! Now do you FLIP a COIN to see which piece of equipment you use each day?

Thanks for sharing the UPDATE on your CRUISE REFUND. I can bet that Kathi is checking your bank account on a hourly basis and writing down every CREDIT until it adds up the total refund. Keeps her busy and out our hair. Ha Ha. (don't share that with her. I really like Kathi)

Lee: Good job on standing in line for the bakery goods and then taking them home for the girls. You are one special UBER DRIVER. Hope the traffic isn't too bad while you drive back and forth! Hopefully, you're smart enough to just RELAX in the pool while you wait for their PICK-UP CALL.

Nice of you to give Lee & Lu-Ann some PERFECT Florida weather. I could use some of that up here right now. It's Sunny, but still cold. 35F right now at 3:00 pm. I guess that's warmer than last week.

I did get a good nights sleep last night. I took a 1/2 of a Melatonin . Just enough to SHUT DOWN the Gray Matter that floats around too much in my head sometimes. Ha Ha. Oh if Tony was around right now I can just image what he would say about that sentence.


I started watching "THE CROWN" last night on Netflix and it's amazing what both Philip and Elizabeth went through in their early years. She was thrown into being the QUEEN at such a very young age. I don't know why I'm watching this series. I guess I want to know more about the Queens Royal lifestyle before she passes. The OLD GAL isn't getting any younger. And we have to hope she gets over her bout with Covid.

We enjoyed The Crown Kathie. Quite the lifestyle HRH Queen Elizabeth has led. We enjoyed watching them change actors and actresses as the lead characters aged. I drove Lu-Ann to The Springs. Jan and Gail came together. They dropped Lu-Ann back here after my media Zoom meeting. You just can’t beat a good night’s sleep!
From what you’ve said Karen would it surprise you if one of the contractors showed up today?

Lee, actually it WOULD surprise me if one showed up a day early....we can't even get them to show up on the day scheduled....my guy for noon tomorrow is a No- go....when I messaged him this evening to confirm he asked if we could make it later...as "he had to go look at a house painting project at noon"...ummm NOPE...you scheduled me at Noon on Tues...you should have scheduled the painting estimate for after that....I doubt if he was even going to contact me & let me know he couldn't make it...and the count down continues...

Unhinged is how many people describe Putin's current mental state. (Similar to the Buffoon's.) It's bad enough that he invades a peaceful Ukraine, but now he's hinting at using tactical nuclear weapons. That guy is just off his rocker.

Who ever thought we had a "media influencer" in our midst. I wonder how much he's charging for autographs now. All kidding aside Lee, that was a good story put out by the HDGA Team.

KC; From what you've said about contractors in your area over the years, it's no wonder that you don't trust them even to show up to give an estimate on a job. These cruise lines sure make it hard on themselves by the way they give a refund.

No flipping of a coin on whether I use the treadmill or the stationary bike, K2. I go back and forth on their usage. Should we warn Lee about all the potholes awaiting him in the Burg? It's "different" driving in that town than it was when he left. With all the repeated freezing and thawing around Massillon, there's more popping up every day. The city is trying to keep up in its' patching, but at the moment Mother Nature is winning this race. Alignment shops are making a fortune.

Ooops.... I was a day early on those supposed estimates that we all know from past experience most likely won't happen! I pray that I'm WRONG! I'll put down 1 MM! Ha ha

Dave: I'll take your Bacon, eggs, and rye toast and throw out my English Muffin w/Strawberry Jam as my wager on Janerunners's bathroom estimates! Ha ha. It's like playing with our food to place a bet!

It's warmer today, but Gloomy right now. Hope the SUN comes back. It's been a REAL SAVIOR this Winter. 37F now. We didn't get too much snow this Winter, but it's been brutal when it comes to the freezing cold temps! I heard we might hit 50 "one day" next week. I'll take it.

Lee: Hope you make the most of your last 12 days in Florida. Just the fact that you got to go and get away is a GOOD FEELING for sure. Now tell us do you have to have 72 hr Covid testing to get back into Canada? I haven't kept up with their "every other day changes".

I really need to get busy on sweeping the kitchen and eating area floor and then washing it. Not really all that thrilled to do it, but NOBODY else is going to get it done! Bummer being the "maid" of this household at times.

Art is waiting on that Dental Specialist to call and let him know if he should come in to see her or if the X-Rays show he should get the tooth pulled or a Root Canal done on it again. All he knows is SOMETHING is NOT right. She's been on vacation and just getting back today, so that's why he's had to wait. The regular dentist wants the experts opinion before he does anything. I guess it's good he's not rushing into anything. Meanwhile, Art is taking the Penicillin pills as directed to make sure he keeps any infection (if there is any) under control.

With Mardi Gras goin on, KC & K2 you have some splainin to do. Explain to the rest of us why, and how you got, all those beads around your necks?

Good thing Kathi and I gassed up our cars the other day, because gas went up 30 cents a gallon yesterday. For me, since my car mostly sits in the driveway, I'm good for a couple of months. During this cold winter I've probably been burning more gas running the engine to keep the battery charged, than driving it on the roads.

You are so right K2 in knowing that Covid is not gone yet. And yet so many people are acting like it is, just because they are tired of it. Now eat your breakfast and quit playing with your food.

Any contractors show up at Barb's yesterday, KC? There's always today.

So what's your agenda today, Lee? It's not like you to hang around much at the rental.

My heart breaks hearing how many people get killed in Ukraine every day. And all the destruction taking place. And the displacement of so many people.

But I am heartened by the countries next them that are letting them in, willingly greeting them, giving them food, clothing, and often places to go to bed at night. There is goodness in the world.

I feel bad for the property managers in this community. It seems since the entire community went with one, cheap provider the service is worse than ever. But it was nice to NOT have connectivity for most of the day.
It’s hard for anyone with a heart or shred of decency to not feel sadden by the events in The Ukraine Dave. I just can’t even begin to imagine what those people are going through.
I’m sure Art would give you a raise for the maid service Kathie but if he gives that person a raise the cook and baker will want a raise too. Have you looked at any of the new vehicles yet for your new lease?
Today we are shopping for dinner. The folks who take us to The Disney parks, Eric and Debra, are coming over for dinner. They love burgers, corn and macaroni salad. That’s OK by us. It gives us a chance to say thank you and chat a little more.
We did hear back from Sunshine about the rates for 2024. She said that because we are such good guests and take care of her home the rate will be the same. As it has been for the past three years. Everywhere the rents are going up and in some cases doubling. I’d just like to hug that lady.
Ava and I have already been out for our walk. I may make a cup of coffee, sit out and wait for Katie and Lu-Ann to get up.

Quick check in & update on as the Contractor Turns...we did actually have the 1st guy show up on time yesterday...very nice young man, listened to what we were planning to do & made suggestions and asked questions with out acting like we were total air heads..his price was VERY good....but in the interest of fairness we have not committed to him yet...the 2nd guy who blew me off with his "paint" job then kept calling & texting saying he had mis-read his notes & would be available to give me a quote if I still needed my "house painted"...my reply...I didn't ask for a quote to have my house painted...thanks anyhow...have a nice day...and that was my day yesterday...I have to go to Lowes this morning & pick up the fiberglass shower surround & be back to Barb's before 11 so best get some coffee in me & get the day started...will update more as it progress's
We then spent the rest of the afternoon running around Lowes & Home Depot looking at LVP for the bathroom floor and then last night I began ordering the fixtures....we have 2 more contractors scheduled at 11 & 1 for estimates but unless one of them is super duper wonderful we both feel good about the first guy...
