Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

A very late good morning. we went and had our Covid tests this morning and have printed up the Negative reports to take to the cruise Friday.

Yesterday I got Bruce's suitcase packed. So no the only thing for each is the toiletry bags.

I was sitting here playing on the computer and watching tv when Jennifer called. It was before 5 and she does not get out of work until after 5 so it was strange. She had a hard time but was able to finally tell me that my brother's youngest son, age 46, had died. Jason if just 6 months older than Jennifer. He was Bi-Polar and when not on meds for that had a big drug problem. I am pretty sure that he committed suicide as he has tried before. My sister-in-law wanted me to call my brother as Bill was just sitting in a chair in the back room and was not talking to anyone at home or on the phone. I did call his cell and he did pick up so we talked for just a few minutes and one thing he said was that now Jason's demons are gone and he also said that our Mother now was meeting Jason for the first time. Our Mother died 4 years before Jason and Jennifer were born so she only had met Bill's oldest son. Since this was an unattended death and his age there is a full investigation and autopsy to be done. I will call Bill later today just to say Hi and that I love him.

All have a great day.

Nancy may I extend my sincere sympathy on the passing of your nephew. May he rest in peace.

Lee/Lu-Ann: My heart fell into my stomach when I read all that happened with KATIE. Poor thing. So good to know you have a good Vet while you are down in Florida. Sure hope that by the time you read this post she will be feeling much better. A good day to stay home and have a family day. Take care. I know how much your pups mean to both of you. Try and get a nap in for yourselves. We don't need you getting sick too.

Pat: Yes, Michigan charges $.10 cents for bottles and cans and anything carbonated. Like those fancy Water drinks. When you bring back your "returns" you get your money back. It has CLEANED UP the highways and local areas immensely. I can't believe Florida gave up on Bottle Returns.

Nancy: Nice of you to post all the information about the testing needed for all that are going on a cruise. I saw on one website that Rapid Antigen Test is $129 each in FL. One place wanted $329. Crazy. I can just imagine what the Cruise Lines would charge folks at the docks that forgot or didn't know about having to have that test to board. YIKES!
Cruising has become a major expense these days.

PAT & Bert: Hope you find a clinic that you can make an appointment, so you have all that done in time for your cruise.

DAVE: Regarding those FREE MASKS from our dear government. We got 2 of them. The straps on them almost make it impossible to put over your head and to get on. They are HUGE. I mentioned to Art that I'm going to take the rubber straps off (they are only stapled on) and move to the sides of the mask to be able to put over your ears. Not sure I'll ever use it unless I'm going into a highly risky area with lots of people. CHURCH COMES TO MIND for me! Ha Ha.

Bill: Nice post. Good to know that your family will be able to get into town a little earlier than 1:00 A.M.! Nice to know everyone is on top of things for this family/friends' cruise. That ALERT sure was different. I know we get strange LOUD weather alerts over our TV when there is a Tornado Warning. It has to be really close for it to happen. But the sound scares the bee-gee-bees out of you it's so loud.

Karen hope you're having a good day over in your neck of the woods. Hope your eyes are back to normal again. Enjoy the day.

I'm going to Vacuum pack the meat I bought yesterday into dinner portions. Then do a few more rows on that silly Lap
Afghan. And by then it'll be time to make dinner.

Things the grocery store had NON of yesterday: Rubber bands, Powdered sugar and frozen Peas. It's really depressing seeing how bare some of the shelves are in the store. Goes to show how very spoiled the American shopper is. I always try and think of some countries that don't even have a grocery store. And then I'm more grateful for what IS ON the SHELVES.

Later gang.

LEE: Keep us up to date on Katie. You know she's always been my favorite!

Nancy - So sorry to hear of your nephew's passing. May he rest in peace.

Lee - So how's Katie doing today? Well I hope.

Kathie - Nice to see that you're still filling up the freezer with your vacuum sealed stuff. Bert still hasn't opened the box on his!! I shouldn't talk though. I had to have and bought an immersion blender a while ago. It only came out of the box when I looked at it. since then it hasn't been used. Last night at Missie's, she asked me if I have an instant pot and I told her that I didn't. I've only used a regular pressure cooker all my life. Well, seems she won on from work, but already has a super duper one, so she gave this one to me. Guess I'm going to have to check it out one of these days, but not until after the cruise.

Had only 1 health care show up today. Seems like the other scheduled one had a family emergency and canceled all appointments. I never got a call, but I do know I missed a call this morning when I didn't have the phone near me, so that might have been the call. Now I know I will be getting a call for a visit from the occupational therapy leader for a visit tomorrow.

Thanks to all the information from Nancy & Rita, Bert is going back to Advent Health to see about setting up an appointment for the Covid test, hopefully on Friday to get it over and done with.

Been working on lots of little things today in prep of going on our cruise. Laundry is getting done with the last of the stuff we want to bring. Then comes packing. As usual, I think I am planning to bring way more than what I need and will be bringing home clean clothes that will still probably get washed with the dirth stuff.
While getting ready to do the laundry, we discovered something that there is a young man getting reamed out about tonight. When I woke up this morning, I heard the timer on the dryer going off, so I figured our borders had done a load of laundry before leaving for work & school. When Bert opened the dryer, he found it was 1 shirt and 1 pair of shorts! That's ridiculous and a waste of water and soap, plus a stress on my old washer and dryer. They will definitely hear about this tonight. Maybe when they are in their own house they can do this, but not here. It's riot act time again!!!

I see by the clock on the wall that it is just about time for a trip to the lanai for some early happy hour relaxation which means time for a glass of wine
or two!!! Have a good rest of the afternoon and evening, everyone!

Here's a smooth, jazzy song to help you slowly wake up this Thursday morning.

Yes you can adjust that N95 mask you've got, K2. Kathi did it for me a couple of years ago. Cut off those back of the head straps and sow them on the mask so as to make them behind the ears straps.

Are you and Bert slowly turning into hoarders, BB? All these new items that you are not using. Sadly, Ohio also doesn't charge deposits on bottles and cans. As a kid I made a bundle returning pop bottles.

Sad to hear about the passing of your nephew, Nancy. However it happened.

Our Vet is still operating like the one you are using Lee. As a matter of fact, even our dog groomer comes out and gets the dogs, and takes them out to the people's cars when they pick them up. You also got by cheap on Katie's check-up, test, and meds. Lu-Ann has never seen "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"???? You've got to take that girl to the movies more often.

Bill; We haven't been to Coco Cay since they really developed it and built a pier. Always hated that boat ride from the ship to the island. I too had never heard of a "Blue Alert".

Nothing much planned for today, beside using the treadmill. Kathi and I may hunt down that doctor's office that is going to do her dental implant. She finally will meet with her next week. Those doctors that do implants sure are booked up.

Good morning.
Katie, and we, had a good night. As dawn breaks I’m going to get her up for a short walk. OK, So now we’ve been for that short walk and Katie met a neighbour. We kept her quiet yesterday and our Irish Girl is doing a lot better.
Ava and I were out for a 1.4 km walk at 5:30. Best time of the day!
We are going today to register and pick up our bibs and shirts for the run. By this time tomorrow we’ll be on our way back home after the run.
Ava and I were out for a 1.4 km walk at 5:30. Best time of the day!
We have deposits on bottles and cans at home. I think wine bottles are 25 cents. Beer bottles and cans are 10 cents.
I had never heard of a Blue Alert until yesterday either. Seems the “perp“ in this instance messed with the wrong citizen and wound up on the wrong end of a shotgun. So long to bad trash.
I had a tough time getting on the board last evening so I gave up. All good this morning. Obviously.
Spyro Gyra was one of my favourite groups when I was in my early, well, let’s just say a long time ago. They were from Buffalo which was a short hop of about an hour across the border from where I lived.
That was some good info on pre cruise testing from everyone. We still need a 24 hour test to go home so I will look into some of the suggestions here too!
Nancy, so very sorry for your loss. Not the news you ever want to get.
Rule of thumb Pat…put out all the stuff you think you need and pack half of it. When you have to pack for air travel AND the cruise you really learn how to pare down what you take. As Kathie would say you’re only going to see these people for a week anyway. Stupid bank.
We need to start a “Bunny Buy and Sell“ board. All of the stuff we all have, have never or rarely used and want to turn it into $$$$ for cruising.
That’s quite the list of “don‘t haves“ Kathie. Frozen peas are so good. If you need a flexible cold compress. Rubber bands? Really? How are people going to bake and ice sweets if there’s no powdered sugar!
Best get my butt in gear. We have to be at ABC Sports complex at 9:45 to get registered. I still need to shave and shower.
Hi to the rest. As always Lu-Ann and I thank you for your concerns about our Katie. You all know how special all of our pups are to us.
You all be careful out there today. Many of you have visions of sailing on your minds. The rest of you, just be careful around everyone.

Good Morning Hello GIF by Mauro Gatti
Happy Thursday GIF by Justin

Just enough time to get on read Lee & Dave's early posts and hand this big computer over to Mr Artie!
I'll be back later. I'm enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee! Be good Wrabbits!

Good morning. No plans for me today. Bruce is off finishing a job he started the other day.

Tomorrow only have to put toiletry bags in suitcases.

Talked with Bill yesterday. He, his oldest son and Jason's 2 daughter's were working on cleaning out Jason's place. So my call gave him a break. He said that Farrah, Jason's youngest said on Tuesday that she HAD to see her Dad so Bill and my sister-in-law took Farrah to the medical examiner's office, they had to sit for about 5 hours before the coroner came out and Farrah told him she was not leaving until she saw her Dad, he did get Jason ready and Farrah was able to see him. Bill said he could not do it but was glad that she did I told him it was for her peace of mind, to know it was all true and now she can get on with making her life work for her. The coroner told them it would about 3 days until he could the autopsy as they are so backed up. Bill also said they aren't planning on anything for now as Bill has cataract surgery next week and also it will be at least next week before Jason's body is released, so they can decided what to do.

All have a great day.

Good morning, everyone!

Lee - I guess by now you've got your bibs and other goodies for your run tomorrow. Good luck to you and Lu-Ann tomorrow morning! Glad to hear Katie is doing well. Keep up the good work.

Kathie - o why did you have to give up the big computer to Art? Didn't you get there first? LOL
They stopped deposit bottles here in Florida at least 35 years ago. They do collect cans though and pay you by the pound for them. Do you realize how many cans are needed to make a pound? Now they are just recycled with paper products. I could have made a fortune recysling wine bottles at 25 cents each!! I'm just kidding, of course. It would only have been a couple of dollars here and there. ;)

Dave - Nice little wake up call. I had never heard that one before. Definitely not a hoarder. I like to try new stuff. The one I really want is an air fryer, but they take up so much room on the counter, I've avoided getting one.

Nancy - Sounds like you're just about ready for your cruise. Have a wonderful time.

Karen - SO what's on tap for you today? Has your sister made into the pool as planned yet?

Bill - You, Rita and your whole gang have a wonderful cruise. Should be a great time for you all. Wow! Even a cabana on Coco Cay. Aren't you guys all special! Enjoy!!

Finally found a place to get the required Covid test before the cruise and the best part is that it is FREE!!! G&E found it for themselves too. Only problem is that it is over near the cruise lines, so we have to drive over there tomorrow morning to get the test and then drive back home to finish stuff here. G&E and their gang will get the test there on Saturday morning and then come back here for the day packing.

Keep the people of Ukraine in your prayers for what they are going through. Hopefully, this will be over soon and that maniac will get put back in his place.

Have a fantastic day, gang. Wear those masks, wash your hands and stay safe!

Took, and passed, our Covid tests this morning and have the printed copies of the results to show when we arrive at the pier on Saturday. Pretty quick and easy and we were both finished in less than an hour. Name of the place in Vero is Carespot and there was no charge. While we were waiting to be called to the testing area, Rich and Dianne were leaving, also with good reports.
Nancy- sorry to hear of your nephew's passing.
Hope you and Bruce have as
wonderful a cruise as we are planning to have.
If you mentioned your itinerary, I've forgotten, but, by itself, a cruise is great regardless of where you go.
Another warm sunny day but some of our time today will be spent getting clothes together and packed for the trip to Ft.Lauderdale tomorrow.
Guess we will miss the conclusion of The Amazing Race next week and since our kids will be with us, we can't have them record it for us. Only one pair that I would be disappointed to see win.

PAT: So glad you got the upgrade after all the confusion with Bank of Amer yesterday. It'll give you a tad more room to move around in. I take it you will bring your scooter with you on the cruise?? More room to store it. Good going on finding a place for the tests. How long of a drive is it to get there? Do they e-mail you the results? What day do you guys board the ship?

DAVE: I loved the JAZZ music you posted. It was easy to listen to. Thanks.

Nancy: Hope you have all your things ready to ZIP UP and haul into the car. Have a wonderful and SAFE cruise. Make sure you have all the Vaccination cards, testing results, passports, and CASH with you! Ha ha.

Okay, I was just passing through the back of the house and it's easier to post using the large keyboard than my iPhone or iPad. Some old habits like typing on a keyboard just make life easier.
Working Chis Sweet Home GIF
(this is for you Karen) Hope Scooter is still doing well.

Later.

Good afternoon!

Nancy, my condolences on the passing of your nephew...

Lee, so glad to hear Miss Katie is feeling fit as a fiddle again, hoping that she stays that way!! My goodness, is it time for the Disney run already? Can't wait to see the pictures!

Pat, awesome news about your Upgrade!! I ditched BOA years ago...greedy b@stards that they are!

Bill, you may be able to catch the ending of TAR on CBS.com when you get back...not sure how long they leave it up before it switches to prime or whatever there pay streaming is....which team are you "not" rooting for? My pick to not win would be the Dad & the daughter...they haven't won a leg yet...and dodged elimination so many times, they haven't earned it at all...

Kathie, Scooter is spending the day at the Vet as we speak...today is her blood pressure re-check....she seems to be doing ok, so hopefully her numbers will have come down....

Dave, jazzy little wake up number...I have heard of the group before but not sure I've ever heard any of their music...

My crazy sister did get in the pool yesterday...and so did my uncle from Ohio...both said it was cold to start but you got used to it pretty
quick...personally I think they just went numb...water temp was maybe 72-74...way to cold for me!!
Not much else going on here...I did end up cancelling lunch with the gang tomorrow...I have been running all week & just needed a break...I did take Tom his card & gift yesterday and got to have a nice visit which included cake & coffee...so all is good...now I need to find some lunch & then call the vet around 3 to see when I can pick up scooter...enjoy the day all!

Good for you getting the upgrade Pat. Yes, we should all keep all of the people in The Ukraine in out thoughts. Very thoughtful of you to mention them.
We always kept toiletries in our shoulder bags Nancy. I‘d be OK with no clothes as long as I could shave and brush my teeth.
Add us to the list of “crazy” Karen. Today and yesterday saw us in the pool for a tad.
We would really like to see Kim and Pen win TAR Bill. I’d pretty much hate to see any of the others finish on top.
How was the cuppa Joe Kathie? Big computer keyboard, iPad or iPhone…auto correct will change what you type anyway!
Race bibs and T-Shirts are collected! We won’t wear the shirts during the race because we’re running “in character”.
Gonna walk the pups.
Be safe everyone.

starbucks GIF
Lee somehow Starbucks coffee always tastes better in their paper cups! Ha Ha I got a Tall Toffee Nut Latte/ No foam on top! I was running errands and it hit the spot. Have a fun time at the 5K! Can't wait to see this years outfits.

Karen: Good move just visiting Tom and enjoying a cup of coffee & cake. Sometimes we all seem to overdue our running around and need to SLOW down.

BILL: Your kids and any others that are traveling to Florida are just going to get out of town in time. Smart move to change their flights. That storm is COMING FAST.
We are expecting from 4-6 inches starting ANYTIME TONIGHT. It's 7:38 pm and it should be here ASAP! I can only hope the weather folks are wrong, but I don't think we'll get that lucky. Glad I went grocery shopping the other day. Whew!

I got back on this computer to order up my Driver's License renewal ONLINE. Saves making an appt at the Sec of States office. $247 dollars to be legal and drive around. Unreal if you ask me.

Okay Wrabbits.......I'll see you tomorrow. Got to listen to Dave's Jazz one more time just now. I like it.

Nancy: Don't forget to wear your MASK. Hate to see you get a Covid BREAK-THRU! Have fun.

Good evening. Well the only thing left to do it the toiletry bags in the suitcases and Bruce's one med pack in his backpack. He was home early today so he got his camera bag and backpack almost all set.

Tomorrow only have to wear masks when checking in, once on the ship we can take them off as the ship says masks only have to be worn in the theater and casino. But I do have masks packed for whatever island we have to wear them.

We will be leaving the house about 8:30 and that will get us to the parking lot by 10:30 so should get to the ship by 11.

All have a great time while we are gone.

Will the last person to leave on their cruise please turn out the light.

Can't wait to see pictures of you and your bride in your running costumes. Lee.

Good going on snatching up a junior suite, BB.

So glad you liked that jazzy little tune, KC. It's so easy to remember the lyrics.
1f914.png
And yes, I only type on a full size computer too.

Can't you guys turn off auto-correct? I don't have that, but it will underline a word in red it thinks I misspelled. It's up to me to correct it, if I wish. I know that auto-correct would never let me post "Fuzzbutt".

So glad to hear that Scooter is doing OK, KC. We do worry about our furry "Kids". Swimming in 72-74 degree water....You're sure not going to see this guy in there.

Have a fun Friday Bunnies. And stay away from strangers not wearing a mask. Forget about Covid, cooties worries me more.

Safe Cruising Nancy & Bruce.

Watching the morning news and seeing refugees bundled up un schools and Subway line cars to avoid the airstrikes going on. So hard to see young children crying and in their parents laps on the floor.

Lee/ Lu-Ann have a blast on your 5K run-walk. Just don’t push it too fast.

It’s snowing here and has been since about 7:45 am . With Wind Chill it’s -10 degrees right now. Brrr!

Karen I still can’t believe your sister and Uncle actually went into the Cold pool water. Just too cold for me!

I took out some sticks of butter last night . I’ll be baking something later only because it’s a good thing to do on a snowy day!
You all behave and I’ll be back later. PEACE IN THE WORLD AND BLESS ALL THE TROOPS AND PEOPLE IN AND AROUND Ukraine.

Quick good morning from me today. We're just getting ready to head out to get our pre-cruise covid test. Only problem is that it is an hour and a half away. Could be even longer considering morning traffic out of this area, so we shall see. Bert's afraid that they'll close up before we get there!

I'll be back later to let you know how we made out. In the meantime, behave yourselves! :)

Great minds think alike, KC. We share your opinion as to which team we don't want to win The Amazing Race.
Lisa and Jason arrived in FLL about 8 pm last night and judging from the weather reports it was none too soon.
All packed and ready to head out in a few minutes.
Will try to check in over the next nine days but no promises. Keep the hutch neat and orderly in our absence. Bert and Pat- have a
wonderful cruise.
