Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

We took the pups for their walk and it was beautiful, sunny and 40F. Headed to the grocery and like Russians lining up for bread during The Cold War era joined the line to enter the store. We needed a couple of things for Christmas dinner. Got that done! Amazon dropped a package while we were out. Porch pirates are slipping. It was still here. :emoticon 0174 bandit:
I guess this moron thought it better to leave a note than to have his car vandalized Dave. Well, wrong note. Seniors following the rules can’t have their in town kids for dinner. Anyway, the car seems to have disappeared. I imagine it’s in a storage unit under a tarp for now.
Kathie we watched a report on, I think it was NBC, about a huge backlog of mail in a local delivery office in the states. “Nobody” was available for comment but the postal inspectors showed up. To get rid of the TV crew! I’m usually up early with Bear.

but like when he goes to the supermarket, he didn't know what he was looking for nor where to look.
If the border ever opens and we get to FL remind me to go grocery shopping with Bert. It sounds like it could be fun. Costco had some gingerbread cookie mix. Being from Costco I think it was like a 475 pound bag. LOL. I bought dried ginger to add to the mix. Sure made a darned fine cookie!
That is so frustrating with all of your packages and paperwork Karen. I agree. If you don’t know where it is, it’s lost. I got into it with UPS yesterday. They refused to scan a return label to provide me with a receipt as proof that I had put something in the system. I asked him to scan it through his protective screen but said that COVID has changed things and I should take a picture of the label and put it in the box. Good call on staying out of retail for the foreseeable future. Us too.
Lu-Ann uses FB messenger for video chats. She also used Zoom when she was a guest at the nurses class. I have used FaceTime. I guess we should explore times and dates to see if we can make this happen while considering Tony is 3 hours adrift of us.
Hmmm. Want coffee so I’m gonna go make a coffee.
You all stay safe!

Taking a short break from baking cookies. I have 1 more batch of cookies to do and then to make stuffed dates. That should pretty well cover the rest of my afternoon. Then tomorrow I only have to do the pizelles. Doing them at the last minute so that the Florida humidity doesn't get to them. A friend gave us a few from the ones she made and they doubled in thickness due to the humidity!

Sounds like a lot of you have had problems with the postal service this year due to who knows what all. Thankfully, everything we sent out got to the right place and all the things Gary and Brian had delivered here using various means all arrived safe and sound, outside of one item that was delivered to a neighbor on the street next to us and brought over by the resident who lives there For some reason, the mailman gets our addresses mixed up and we often have to drop stuff at their house too. Go figure ...

Need to make a quick run once again to Publix. A cheese I wanted wasn't in yesterday, but were to get more today. Hopefully, the manager wasn't lying to Bert. Guess we shall see.

Back to work I go . :chef:

Lee, I place the blame for the PO mess squarely on the orange buffon....the guy he appointed to run it was supposed to do everything in his power to stop or delay mail in ballots...since that didn't work out as planned I can only imagine he is taking it out on Christmas....
I strolled by the old hutch earlier...someone I didn't know posted in there wondering where we had gone....I was tempted to reply we had gone somewhere we could post freely as adults....not where we were censored & "punished" like kindgergarden kids...but I refrained....it would have probably just been deleted anyhow...

Good morning friends!
I fear that there may be a lynch mob forming in our town. Yesterday there was a car from New York parked in 2 hour parking by the park. A note taped to each window said “We are back again to enjoy Christmas with our family. We are quarantining for 14 days”. With families here being asked to celebrate only with those who live under their roof this privileged a$$hole thinks it’s OK to travel across the border to they can do what many of us shouldn’t and won’t. They must be Canadian or surely they would have been turned back. Still, when families here are foregoing a traditional Christmas with elderly parents, in-laws, kids and cousins it’s wrong. And most of the folks reading the note on the car were, as were we, unhappy to put it mildly. Enough of my Moanday morning rant.
The entire Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas concert was virtual! “Tickets” were $20 and you could watch the concert live on Friday and again as often as you wanted until mid nite last night. We had initially planned for our friends to be here but nixed that when the restrictions were tightened.
A parking lot church service is a nice idea as well Dave. At least people can get together. Even if it is through their car windows. I’m willing to bet the mattress is there long after 4:00 am. The longer away from the old PO the less I miss the people there as well.
I think if you make the boozy truffles last you should be OK Pat. Of course if you make and taste them first you can blame leaving the fudge until today on the truffles. So which two of us are getting the small gifts you wrapped?
Kathie, I meant to ask if that is still the old tried and true travel mug from when The Bunnies invaded Toledo? I bet Art’s enjoying the milder biking weather!
Tony, we all said that we weren’t going to mention that party. I was just glad to be able to be there virtually. Which, my friend, gives me an idea. Would it be worth trying to set up a Holiday Zoom meeting with everyone?
Karen, in spite of the fact that we all left you alone on here the other day I know you put in a good word for all of us at church. Thank you.
A week tonight is our rematch Bill. I won the first game but lost my M&M. Hope the odds makers give me a chance to even things up.
I best get my sweetie up. She has set times for her PD meds and if I leave her too long it throws that schedule all to heck.
All of you be safe out there.
Unless the oddsmakers still haven't figured out that this year isn't the Patriots year, the spread shouldn't present a problem next week, Lee. Looks to be more likely that this season will end up in a draw for the two of us.
Condolences Pat. Not a good week for your Gators or Steelers. Maybe Ben should consider it is time to hang up his cleats.
Saw my dermatologist yesterday and will see my primary care this afternoon. Seems as the total of my social life revolves around doctors' visits.
If I don't get back on before Friday, here's wishing everyone has as merry a Christmas as possible during these stressful times. - Bill

It's that time of the day for me to call it quits for tonight. I was baking just about all day and still have more to do tomorrow. I'd be going to bed early tonight, except we have the kids here. So until tomorrow, night night!! :)

Bill: Nice to see you posting on here. Sending you and Rita MERRY CHRISTMAS WISHES. Be extra safe.

Checking out of here for now.

Good morning Wabbits!

Normally, on early morning grocery shopping we'd run into 10 or less other shoppers. Not yesterday, the parking lot was almost full. I can only imagine what a zoo it will be today and tomorrow. Good thing we were there just to pick our groceries. You tell them when you'll be there, and so far it's all been ready for us when we pull in the parking lot, and give them a call saying that we're there.

In answer to you question K2; There was no charge the first three times we had them gather up our groceries. Now the charge for it is a mere $1.95, now matter how big the order is. I expected it to be much more.

It's amazing KC what people will put into dumpsters. When I worked for Habitat For Humanity the neighbors would fill our dumpster with old furniture, tires, and mattress.

Ooops, I haven't been watching the time. Time for me to get ready to take the pooches to the beauty parlor.

Good morning! Haven't got much to say this morning. I'm in a real bummer mood with a family problem that I have to try to figure out how to handle. I'll be back later.

Good Mid-Morning. Sunny here right now. I’m plain old lazy this morning.
I need to close out of this iPad and get on my iPhone. This thing needs to get charged. Hate to loose a post.

Good morning....got all my errands done & now home to chill for a while....will cook the potato's & eggs later to have ready to make the potato salad tomorrow...it's always better if it sets a day....

Pat, sorry you are having family issues....always seems to happen in some form or another to all of us this time of year....

Well, I tried to post something and it said I TIMED OUT. GEEZ.
Dave; That’s a great price for the grocery pick up. I don’t know how they make enough to pay the “PICKERS” at that rate.
I’ll be back when I can get on the bigger computer snd key pad. This phone keys are just too tiny for me.
Be good folks.

Good afternoon.
Sunny. Cloudy. Sunny. Cloudy. You get the picture. Thanks to the wind chill it feels cooler than the 45F we’re seeing on the thermometer.
Still no line for our game Bill. Well, not on The Master’s official site. Other sites are favouring The Bills by 7.
For sure it’s easier to type - and read on a larger device Kathie.
I think that it’s wrong to charge a fee for curb side pickup of groceries Dave. No sign of the NY state car again this morning. Good!
I sincerely hope that this is not a major family issue Pat.
Karen, you are so right about ingredients sitting for a tad for things like your salad. We find the same for chilli and even some pasta dishes.
The “wisdom“ and confusion about our so-called lock down continues. All of Ontario is “locking down” on December 26 for 28 more days. Well, all non essential small businesses and schools anyway. Big box stores? Open with 25% capacity. Walmart? Same deal. Restaurants including coffee shops? Take out and drive through only. Barber shops? Nope. They are closed. Book store? Nope, closed. You have to get your book at Walmart.
Our Christmas dinner with Jan and Dave is back on. Seems if you are alone you are allowed to have one other couple from your bubble who may also be alone. As long as you are socially distanced and wear masks except for when you eat. We are putting the leaf in the table and sitting at opposite ends. Just to be safe, we are calling it a funeral for our turkey. That’s because 10 people can gather at a funeral.
Time to pay some bills. With Christmas on Friday and Boxing Day extending to Monday we want to make sure they are paid and funds transferred in ample time.
You all stay out of trouble AND safe!

UPS tracking shows my Dad's probate form package was delivered to the lawyer's office at 1:12 this afternoon....I emailed the office for confirmation, but have not heard back from them yet....it's possible they are at lunch....or possibly closed for the holiday...I'm hoping not...as I will rest much easier knowing the lawyer FINALLY has the paperwork needed to process my Dad's estate...

Family issue still not resolved. I've shed more than my share of tears today. :( Waiting to see if we've managed to work this out and there's only 1 person who can do that now. Time will tell!!

Baked the pizzelles earlier. If I was in a better mood, I probably would also have done the chocolate kind too as well as a few other things.

Probably going to Tarantino's for dinner tonight. Our present to each other!!

KC - good to hear that the papers at least reached the lawyer's office. At least they are there now, even if the office is closed for the holiday. I'm sure you'll hear within a few days that they have arrived.

Lee - Glad you and one other couple are going to be able to get together for a Christmas dinner. Within our family, no one has turkey for Christmas any longer. Good for you to have a bird. So how big is it?

Dave - That's well worth it for a pick up price at the grocery store. I have no idea what any place charges for pickup. It would be worth it to have someone who actually gets what you want as opposed to a husband who screws up the order every time!!!

Time to get ready to leave for Tarantino's! :emoticon 0137 clapping:

People will just not listen to medical guidelines to avoid coming into contact with the Carona virus. People should be forced to view a couple of hours watching videos of hospital ICU's. Even people having heart attacks, strokes, and car accidents are dying because there in no room for them at some hospitals.

One of Kathi's sons lucked out by taking vacation this week. Two people in his office came down with Covid. In other news; Kathi's brother in California had his father-in-law just die of Covid. He was in an assisted living place.

Hoping your family issues are soon resolved, BB. Sometime just the passage of time calms people down.

Happy to hear your legal papers made it to the Ohio lawyer, KC. FINALLY.

Lee; Have you ordered the flowers for your turkey's funeral yet? And the booze for the wake?

K2; I'm so used to writing on a full sized keyboard instead of a phone, I think that after a while I'd probably end up heaving the phone through a window.

The poopy-dogs came back from the groomers yesterday looking adorable. Both were wearing Christmas bandanas.

I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but "Big Foot" is actually a long-haired Dachshund which we keep cut short to look like a regular weaner-dog. Since he's got such short legs, it wouldn't take long for his natural hair to get dirty just by dragging in the grass.

Our plans for today.......Pretty much just milling around smartly. Presents have all been wrapped and mailed or delivered. All mailed ones have arrived. On Christmas it's just Kathi and me. Ham. And oh do I love ham. I'd be a lousy Jewish fella.

Good morning & Merry Christmas Eve!!!

Pat, sorry to hear the family situation was not resolved...hopefully as Dave said time will help to calm tempers & feelings for a peaceful resolution....

Dave, you really need to have Kathi post some pic's of the pups in their Christmas finery!! Hansel is getting a sweater & a raincoat from Auntie Karen...if we can keep it on him long enough I will post pictures....so sorry to hear about your brother in law's Father in law....even with all the restrictions place on the Assisted living facilites this d@mm virus still finds a way in!!!

Kathie, I'm not found of typing on a phone's mini keyboard either....and when you add in spell checks word changes it really get's annoying....for the first year or so after getting my laptop I still used a regular keyboard & monitor instead of the laptop keyboard....after I moved here I finally made myself get used to the laptop...but I do still use a mouse instead of the scroll pad...

The lawyer did confirm the paper's arrived yesterday, so now they will be filed with the court in Ohio....AND I got 2 notices from USPS yesterday...the first one said the paper's had arrived in Detroit yesterday morning....I didn't know they'd ever left...last tracking info I had said they'd arrived there Dec. 8th...then the next email said they had left Detroit last night..."enroute to their destination"....figures.....now if my packages would just show some sign of movement....off to have another cup of coffee & get the day started...will check back in later....

Good morning, everyone, and a happy Christmas Eve to you all! Weather here today is going to be so weird - We'll reach a high of 80 and the low tonight will be 40! Definitely an AC during the day and heat on at night type of day that we get this time of year.

The family conflict has been resolved as well as can be expected, so I do feel better today. I was ready to call off anyone coming over tonight. That's how upset I was. Now things are back on with a slight modification. M&J will be coming with the kids once Missy gets home from work. They will be leaving early as they have to help Santa do his thing. G&E will come about 6, while M&J are still here, but won't be picking up Ethan until after M&J leave. I really hate getting caught in the middle of a conflict we had nothing to do with. UGH!!

Our dinner last night at Tarantino's was delicious. Everyone was seated at socially distant tables. We had no one within 15 feet of us. Even had to shout across the place to wich the owner a Merry Christmas! For a change, we both actually had the same dinner, Veal Saltimbocca with spinach. Best part is that we both have leftovers. We can tell the difference in to go boxes too. Mine has pasta, Bert's has broccoli. ;)

Dave - We've seen some of these gatherings that people have where no one wears a mask and they're all hugging each other. You know they're just asking for trouble. Perfect example was a group that came into the restaurant just before we were leaving. There were 16 of them all together with no masks on! Even for such a short time as we were there too, I'm glad they were seated on the opposite end of the room.
Sorry to hear that Kathi's brother's FIL passed from the virus. Jimmy's sister and her family all have it right now in Texas. For that reason our grandson, Wesley, will be spending Christmas alone this year.
Can't wait to see a picture of your babies in the Christmas bandanas.

Karen - Glad you got the confirmation from the lawyer's office that they got the papers. One less thing to have to worry about, right? I hope those missing packages show up soon. Bert ordered parsley seeds and found out afterwards they were shipped from China. He tracked them to a post office in California and they have been sitting there for months. I doubt he'll ever see them and truthfully, I don't know why he didn't just go down the road to Lowe's and buy them there. :smilie11: Bet he won't do that again!!

Guess I should get some stuff done around here before too much time passes. First up will be preparing plates with some goodies for a couple of friends and then let Bert deliver them while it's quiet here.

So whatever you're doing today, make it a special one. Before I go and not knowing if I'll get a chance to stop back later, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and thank you all for being my friend. That really means a lot to me. Love you guys!!:)
