Karen - Good to see you short post on here. I hope you feel better real soon.

Lee - I can relate to how helpless you feel at time right now. I too get frustrated over things I can no longer do, but once you recover will be able to do again. I, on the other hand, will never be able to do some of the things I used to just take for granted and now have to wait and depend on other people to do it for me. Even some of the simplest tasks leave me gasping for air, so that I have to use oxygen a lot. Sometimes just walking from one end of the house to the other has me huffing without the O2. Let's not even think about walking anywhere outside. I just can't do it.
So while you're frustrated having others do things for you, you know that with each day you are improving and working yourself back to that old guy Lee who loves to take walks, drink coffee and visit with friends. He will show up one of these days. In the meantime, take it slow, my friend.

Kathie - For right now, Bert is content crawling around to get at stuff in those bottom cabinets, even when his knees are not happy. This attitude really surprises me as he's a neatness , well organized person. Believes in a place for everything and everything in it's place. He has all kinds of plastic containers and trays that he keeps things in. That's how he organized the kitchen drawers with wood trays and plastic containers. Talk about being anal ... As soon as we get a new appliance, TV, kitchen product, he immediately grabs the paperwork that comes with it before I get to see it. He puts it all in a plastic comic book bag which he folds and tapes closed. The paperwork then goes in a deep tray where all these plastic bags are lined up and kept in the garage where only he knows where they are. Heck, since the day we moved into this house (16 years ago), I have never gotten to read or figure out all the features and uses for the microwave which, one of these days needs to be replaced. But the directions are in perfect condition.

I think we have a t-storm getting ready to hit us, so I should see about getting off here until after the storm passes.

Time to say good night. The t-storm once again skirted all around us, so we got nothing. We really needed that rain too. Now it's time to shut down this instrument of the dark side and go watch some TV. I have at least 6 shows recorded that we haven't gotten to yet, without counting Netflix!

Have a good night and I'll see you all in the morning, God willing. :)

A beautiful sunny start to the day.
Karen, so glad to see you check in. We all take to worrying when any of us disappears and we don't know where you are at!
Ah, blood work. Let's just say that I have an appointment at 8:55 tomorrow for a redo. The numbers were all of the place including the PSA. I was on the phone yesterday with my Doc, the rehab nurse, my Doc again! At least the increased PSA can be attributed to the surgery. WHEW! Onwards and upwards.
Kathie, I have so much to be grateful and thankful for. But that still doesn't make it easier to watch the guys. That's not my nature. But I'm learning and the class last evening helped address that. I'm intrigued by the racks for pots and pans! That sure would be handy for both Lu-Ann and I. The worst thing is cleaning out desk drawers. We get all of our bills online and pay them that way. I keep 6 months of each on file. Even that's hard enough to remember to purge when I put one in the folder! Most bill and utility places here allow you to access at least a year's worth of bills sos that's a good thing too.
Hey, here's a funny story. Because our fridge has the freezer on the bottom it's more than 5 pounds and the effort to open it. So my sweetie says "If I want to hide good stuff from you for a few weeks I'll just put it in the freezer drawer. You won't be able to get at it!" Ah, the abuse I have to take.
Well Pat, if it's of any consequence our dinner last night was "lowly" spaghetti too. And it was darned fine! It must not be tourist season. When we are there in the winter there is always a lineup at Manny's. No matter what night you go by. How did the bacon turn out? I'm getting there. Being able to walk my Katie half way around the Navy Yard is a joy. I know it will come.
Why yes Bunnies, I would love a coffee. Thanks for asking.
Hi to the rest and we'll see you either later or at some point tomorrow.
You all stay safe out there, ya hear!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1wOK9yGUYM Just for you Lee. Now shake your booty out to the breakfast table.

Be still my heart. So nice to hear that you are still part of the living KC. Hope that whatever bug is bugging you soon bugs off. (Say that 5 times real fast.)

Yes K2, we put out the Oriole feeder a few weeks ago. I'm still waiting on a single bird to use is. May have to shift over to another style. When It comes to junk drawers or desk drawers the biggest item we seem averse to throwing out is pens. And so many people hand new ones out to us all the time.

Happy to read that I'm not the only one who likes horseradish, BB. Another glass jar of it is on our grocery list this week. I prefer brands that are locally made over a national brand. The local ones have more punch. A $10 cookie??? That thing better be delivered to me in a limousine, and hand fed to me by a maid in a French outfit.

Do you Floridians have a gas shortage down there, due to the pipeline hack?

Another sunny day here, and I'm getting so used to that. But our temperatures are still around 10 degrees below normal for this date. Normal would be in the lower 70's.

Grocery pick-up day.

Later today or tomorrow I want to make up another one of my hot and spicy mystery-brews. Lots of veggies and a bit of some kind of meat.

Good Mid-Morning!
KAREN HOPE TODSY YOU ARE FEELING BETTER TGAN YESTERDAY. Rest up and drink lot of water or liquids.

Dave: We “normally” have a over-supply PENS in our junk drawer, but with everything closed down we just aren’t getting lots of pens and for the first time in years we’re running low. I must have thrown out 30 pens a few years ago. You knew we’d have a shortage. We do have 3 pens with LIGHTS built into them that actually work.

Dave: Keep looking for the Orioles. They’re quick feeders. You have to just be lucky to see them. Other BIRDS are gobbling up the jelly like crazy. Love seeing them all having a good time with it.

LEE: Glad you have all the support with your new therapy classes. The TESTING is a real plus.
About opening that freezer drawer. I have to use BOTH hands and a lot of my “AB Muscles” to open that freezer drawer. Amazing suction. Don’t be trying that any time soon.
When you can look into the cabinet pull out drawers, etc. I could never live without pull outs at my age! Heck loved them in our old house too!

We have Ashley’s B-Day to go to around 5:30. Hope she likes her gifts. Jeans, a cute dress for when she has to actually go into a office or event, a book she requested and a nice necklace with a small Oval Opal encased in Silver on a chain.

Okay, now it’s time to get a coffee. You all have a good day.
Later gang. Get outside it’s finally nice here! Yippee.

Good morning, everyone! A bit on the cooler side here today with a good chance of rain. Bummer! We want to get to BJ's this afternoon to pick up some coldcuts and rolls for when Laurie & Ron come over on Saturday. Not taking any chances this time to consider making anything like what happened last week.

Dave - People here are acting the same way they do when there's a possible hurricane coming or as happens up north when a snowstorm may be coming. Yesterday's hoarding consisted of long lines at gas stations or stations completely running out of gas. Here's the kicker though - THERE IS NO GAS SHORTAGE!!! That cyber attack only affected a small area in the panhandle and has been repaired/ Bert was talking to the new guy next door who owns and delivers gas all up and down the east coast. Central Florida gets its gas through Tampa where ships bring it in. He said there is absolutely no shortage of gas and the people are doing something that is totally unnecessary. That figures. We'll probably get gas while we're out later, but only because we need some, not to hoard any. This is also the time of year when Bert fills 3 5 gallon cans with gas in case of a storm where we might lost power. He needs the gas to run the generator in that case.

Kathie - Nice gifts for Ashley's birthday. Want to adopt me? LOL

Lee - We were very surprised at how empty Manny's was, but very happy to not have to wait for a table like usual. I had even called ahead to get on the list and the gal said there was no need to get on a list, as there was no line. I'll remember that come next winter or even once school is closed and the tourists are at Disney in droves once again.

Karen - So how are you feeling today? Better I hope.

Depending on the weather, we might go to the Grille for dinner tonight to continue my birthday week celebration. Otherwise, it's time to find something in the freezer that doesn't need to be defrosted.

That's about it from me this morning. Besides, the dryer keeps calling me. Have a good day, everyone, and behave yourselves! :)

Just looked up your ACTUAL Birthday Pat and I thought I missed it! But WHEW, I didn't. According to my address list your Big Day is May 18th! Am I right? I looked twice!

Yep! May 18th is the big day. Going out that day for lunch at our favorite Cajun restaurant - Harry's. Used to go to the one on the Square in Ocala (Karen would know where that one is), but there's one in Lakeland which is closer to us here. There's a piece of key lime pie waiting for me as a birthday gift from them too!!

Went outside to sit at the table and enjoy a afternoon cup of Java and had to WIPE OFF the POLLEN on the table. Yikes.
It’s as bad as Florida. Ha ha. Well, NOT THST BAD.

Kathie - We went through that kind of pollen back in late February, so we know how you feel. Now we just have normal pollen that we can't see, but still makes us sneeze and cough at time.

D
id all our running around this afternoon, but never made it to Publix. Relaxing time now before we head for the Grille for dinner tonight ALONE. Our friends we usually go with are a mother & daughter and after a while I get tired of listening to the mother's monologue about how horrible people are to her until she hits the best one out there. This gets old in a hurry, but hey, she's getting close to 80, so we give her a break once in a while. When she called before and told me they can't make it tonight, I said to Bert that come hell or high water, we are having dinner at the Grille ALONE tonight.

Almost time to head in that direction. I'm going to say good night early as I don't expect to get back on the computer again tonight. Have a great evening, everyone! :smiley15:

Good evening....I had every intention of posting much earlier than this....but you know what they say about that!!

Pat, today was definitely a & surprise to me...woke up about 7 am to the sound of rain on the roof...the weather last night said it would be clear & sunny but cooler...not complaining though...I had a pallet of sod put down in the front yard a week or so ago & have had to water it every day! City of Belleview water is going to LOVE me this month!!

Dave, glad to read the neck surgery went well. My dermatologist is the same way when they are slicing & dicing...they check each slice & you don't get to leave until its all clear. I'd much rather have that than to have to come back because they didn't get it all.

Kathie, did the family get the awning & patio furniture set up for you on the deck? Happy Birthday to Ashley... I made the pork chop recipe tonite that you posted for Dave...it turned out pretty good...I was amazed I actually had all the spices it called for...the only thing I would do different is to let the chops sit for a few minutes after they come out of the air fryer...I took them out at the right temp...but the first couple bites seemed a little tough to me....as it sat...it got nice & tender...

Lee, sorry to hear your blood test did not come out well...hope you studied more & pass this one with flying colors!! Gotta love LuAnn's sense of humor....I think I'd have one of your friends open the freezer for you the next time she is out with the girls...just to see what goodies she has stashed there...

I actually felt half way decent today....If I could get a full decent night's sleep I think I'd feel even better. I went to bed early enough last night...but just could not go to sleep...so at 10:30 last night I got up & cleaned house...I figured if I couldn't sleep I might as well get something accomplished!
Scooter goes back to the vet tomorrow for her follow up appt. she still is not doing that well....I'm starting to think there is more going on with her than just the teeth...
Got another estimate on the drive way...this guy only wanted $2,500 to fix it....so instead of that I bought a box of driveway patch & seal & one day next week will fix it myself....I've watched a couple You tube videos and it shouldn't be all that hard...one video I watched was fixing an area just like I have on the corner...so that was perfect. I can also thin this cement mixture down to a paint like consistency after the patched area's cure and after I spread that on you won't even be able to see where it was patched...or so the video's say...regardless it was $25 for the bag of mix....a heck of a lot better than $2,500! Catch up with you all sometime tomorrow...

Karen: The kids did get the patio awning up last week. Eric brought up the 4 metal chairs. They're not extremely heavy, but it was nice not to have to bring them up myself.

Ash had a nice Birthday dinner and then it was cake time and coffee for Art & myself. She looked like she liked the gifts. Whew!

Karen hope you can get a good nights sleep tonight. I've had 2 nights with tossing and turning, but NOT ENOUGH to get me up and CLEANING. Ha Ha. Although I actually like cleaning at night. Old habit from way back when Art was on the AFTERNOON SHIFT. I'd clean until he came home so I wouldn't make noise while he slept late in the mornings.
The Air-Fry dinner sounds good.

Good idea to do the driveway CRACK yourself. Gotta love YouTube videos. We need to do a patch by our sewer drain in the street in front of our house. I've called for 2 yrs and they fixed it once, but it has cracked and dropped and needs to be re-done. With Covid and a lack of staffing I'm sure they would tell me to "GET OVER IT LADY" of I called for a repair. Ha Ha

Pat hope you got to eat at the grille alone tonight. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Jill's subdivision is having a weekend Sub Sale. She's finally going to put out the desk that was once mine when I was in School. I used it, Jill used it and then Art painted it White and put new handles on the drawers and a laminate top on it and Ashley had it in her room. I must say that she only used it for a very little time and then it became a desk to keep books and "girly stuff" on. Anyways, it's going to go into the SALE tomorrow. I hope it finds a good home. I so wanted to bring it back home with me, but WHY??? I don't need more useless stuff around here. It served it's purpose. My Mom bought me that desk for me. :emoticon 0106 crying:

Have a good Friday folks.

LEE: I tried to pull open the freezer tonight and had to use BOTH HANDS and thought of you. It's a real AB-Builder doing that. Ha Ha. Take care. Get outside and walk around in your yard. Sunshine can't be bad for you. :sunflower:

I can not believe it's Friday already.

Thanks for the heads up KC on letting meat sit for a while once you take it out of the air fryer. If you think of it, take some before and after pictures of your driveway repair. You sure shaved off the price on that fix.

Hoping that your dinner last night at the Grille went well for you and Bert, BB. Just the two of you? Just a couple out on a date. Did he get you drunk, take you home, and try to have his way with you?

When I first looked at your picture K2, I kept looking and looking and looking. Just couldn't figure out what it was until I read your explanation. Is that a picture of a pool? NO. Is that a rock up in the front of the picture? NO. What the Hell is it??? Then again....it was like trying to figure out the first sentence you posted in
red yesterday morning. But I finally figured out your Serbian spelling.
1f61b.png

So what were you up to yesterday Lee? Hopefully it was an activity that your doctors would approve of.

Looks like the CDC says that people who are fully vaccinated don't need to wear masks anymore. Inside or outside. I'm not ready yet to take that leap. If for no other reason I'd again be forced to smell some people's horrible breath.

Here's a hoot in motivating people to get the Covid vaccine; In a little bit adults who have been vaccinated here in Ohio will have their names entered into 5 lotteries. One winner will be picked on 5 Wednesdays, and win a million dollars. Not too shabby for just getting a free shot that could save your life.

And as they say in infommercials, "But wait, there's more." For the 12 to 17 year olds that can get vaccinated now, there will be another lottery. Their names will be put into the pot to win 4 years free at any Ohio college.

I think it's a really slick idea for both age groups by our Mister Mr. Magoo looking Governor.

Good morning! Not a lot of time to post this morning. I have an appointment in a little over an hour with my pulmonologist. It's a follow up visit from last month and hopefully, I will get out of there quickly.

Dave - Dream on! We did have dinner last night at the Grille ALONE. Yes, I had a couple of glasses of wine and NO there was no hanky panky after we got home. Silly boy!!! We actually got to sit at the bar. That rarely happens, as it is usually full by the time we get there. One other couple also was sitting at the bar. We knew them to say hello to, but never knew their names and guess what - They are also former Jerseyites!!! I swear half the people who live here are from NJ. The other half are from PR.

Karen - What the heck time did you go to bed if you're still awake at 10:30? Get up and clean the house? Heck no! I'd rather just lie there and hope to eventually fall asleep. Good call making that repair on the driveway crack yourself.

Kathie - Glad Ashley's birthday celebration went well. She sure got some good "loot"! You hadn't told us that the awning went up the other day. Now to get lots of days to enjoy sitting outside.

After the doctor, we have to stop at Publix to pick up a few things. We too will still wear masks going to certain places, supermarkets and big box stores especially. Too many nasty people running around out there to let our guard down.

Better get going now. I'll be back later. In the meantime, have a great day! :)

Quick check in from me also...

Pat, I had gone to bed around 9 that night....so it was about 1-1/2 hours of tossing & turning before I gave up & got up to clean...I figured if I wasn't going to get any sleep I might as well get something accomplished..

Lee, hope today is a better day for you!

Kathie, hope the desk does find a good new home...I can understand wanting to hold onto it even if you don't need it....glad the gang got the awning up for you...now if the weather will just let you enjoy it!!

Dave, so will you still hang out with this motley crew if you win one of the million dollar drawings? I've got the before pic's already, so yeah...I will post both once I get the drive patched...

Scooter had her post surgery check up this morning...Vet said things looked good...she still has some inflammation on her gums but the vet is not to concerned with that...she has gained a couple ounces so she was happy about that....I was happy there was no charge for todays visit....they want me to bring her back next week to get weighed...but I think I am going to cancel that...I can weigh her at home myself...no reason to pay for an office visit just for that..

Meeting up with the poolies this afternoon for a Birthday lunch for one of the ladies in the group....Perkins in the Villages...not my first choice of places to eat...but the birthday person gets to pick...now I need to go turn on the sprinklers again for the new sod...later gang!

Good “almost afternoon” Wrabbits!
Got up early and actually got a few things done around here.
Karen hope the Birthday lunch was a good one. Nice to know that Scooter is slowly getting better. Nice they finally gave you a NO CHARGE visit. I agree with weighting Scooter yourself in a few weeks!

The awning is going to get lots of use TODAY and the rest of the week. It’s beautiful outside FINALLY. I need to get outside ASAP and rough up the flower beds and then throw some PREEN on the dirt to keep the weeds at bay. Finally found a box at the Costco close to Jill’s house.

WOW…THE WIND JUST BLEW OUTSIDE AND I SAW ALL THE POLLEN from the Willow tree and it’s flowers just blow TONS all over our yard. I can’t wait to see how much is on the table on the deck. I can imagine how much is on the top of the AWNING. Wow….I was just looking up and out at the yard when it happened! I’m shocked. Ha ha.

Lee: Get out and enjoy your patio. Find a good book and start reading it. Relax. Good to know the mail works!
Later gang.

Look at the word “POLLEN” that I wrote on the deck table! Never saw anything like that before. I’ll be using the hose on the entire deck and steps, etc.

With all of the new build construction around here Hydro One keeps cutting the power and putting it back on. This has been going on all day - so far. I guess they are trying together hydro to the new homes that are being build but I've just about had it restarting the computer and resetting the microwave and stove clocks!
So that said I'm just gonna post this before it al goes poof...AGAIN!

Doctor appointment was for 11:30. Got there at 11:20 and had to go back and sit in the car as there was no place in the office to sit keeping with social distancing. Finally got into the office at 11:40. Got to see the doctor at 12:30 for all of 3 minutes!! He was pleased with how I'm doing now, so I don't go back for 2 months. Also changed to the new meds.

Just had lunch and getting ready to head to Publix. Didn't want to go shopping on an empty stomach!
