Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hi GANG! Bringing up the Caboose on here!
On My Way Running GIF by DreamWorks Spirit

Seems like the morning just flew by.

I went for the Echocardiogram mid-morning. What a interesting test. The tech gal was very nice and explained a lot of the chambers of the heart and what some of the strange images were. Of course, it was all just general info. Took 1/2 hour to roll around my chest and save pictures. I tend to believe this GAL knows more than the doctor when it comes to using this machine.
I go back in 3 weeks to see what the Doc has to say, if anything. Basically, I am off the water pill for the next 3 weeks to see if that helps with the low blood pressure and lite-head feeling off and on. ALWAYS SOMETHING!!

Karen: Now you just can't leave us hanging about TOM cutting Jane's hair!! Want to tell us more about that?? ;) Was or is he a hairstylist?

Pat: I still have your LAMB SHANK posting in my head. I need to find me some lamb shanks and make them for us. Only problem around here is that they are EXPENSIVE. Use to be a Poor-Man's meat. Not anymore. Bummer.

Lee: We didn't get rain here until this morning around 9:00 am. And I wouldn't even call it RAIN....more like a steady drizzle. Suppose to last most of the day. Hope you have some puzzles you and Lu-Ann can work on. If the borders were open I could have brought you all of ours that we did all Winter. I see a lot of garage sales having TONS of PUZZLES FOR SALE this Summer!

Dave/Kathi: OUCH on that fall you took Kathi. You just heal from one fall and then it happens again. Hope you didn't get too hurt or scratched up.
Do you two ever think you'll walk into a grocery store again and pick out your own groceries? I wonder if you're saving a lot of money by not doing IMPULSE BUYING?

LEE....take note of how Kathi fell and don't be trying to walk those dogs too soon. I can see one of them trying to pull you off guard to chase a squirrel in the Park!

I'm off to make some Lemon Bars. The kind with shortbread on the bottom and a nice gooey Lemon curd on the top. Lemons were On Sale at the Veggie Mkt that I stopped at on the way home from my test. Bought a nice piece of Wild Caught deep water Salmon for our dinner. Trying to get at least one day of FISH on our menu each week. It offsets the Lemon Bars! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Later gang.

Oh by the way, I think the President did alright last night. I don't like his "Low Soft Voice", but he had a few good ideas. Nothing earth shaking, but everything very COSTLY!! Way too much FREE, FREE, FREE! Still much better than the BOZO that use to just talk about himself.

Watching the NFL draft pick down in Cleveland Ohio!
Shows you how little is on TV tonight.
My friend, Elaine, whose husband passed last September is in the hospital. Had to call 911 last night. Dry heaves and felt like she was dying. She has had intestinal issues for weeks. Dehydrated too. Hosp is 5 mins from her house and is FULL. SHE’s in the hallway waiting for a room. Her daughter is flying in from California.
And to think they’re thinking of opening up Restaurants to full capacity real soon and no masks outside. Crazy.

Night all.

TGIF Wabbits!

Lemon bars. Now that sounds good, K2. Lemon pies, cookies or candy all sound good to me. But normally I'd only eat one or two, so I never ask Kathi to make them. Just don't eat many sweets, except my BEloved ice cream.

Something else was sweet yesterday, the results of my lung CT exam came back. No changes since last year. Good, that's what I wanted to hear.

I actually like Biden's changes in tone and volume when he speaks. No more constant screaming like the Buffoon. And Biden's way of speaking makes you pay more attention. If you really want to get someone's attention speak softly, almost in a whisper.

I'm not sure BB, but I think your cat is trying to kill you. I think you are closer to the cost of fixing your pier than Bert is.

KC, I can't remember the last time I had waffles. In my never to be humble opinion they are much better than pancakes. Just last week my Arizona daughter purchased a waffle maker that makes 4 Mickey Mouse waffles at a time. Tom cuts hair???

Still playing it safe on your activities Lee?

I watched a little bit of the NFL draft last night. I'd forgotten how slow moving that event is. During the day the Cleveland news shows kept showing the people who traveled from all over the country to witness it in person. And getting cold & drenched as they went around to the sites in Cleveland.

Earth to Rita and Bill!

Not much to say today. But they said I’d have days like this.
You all take care.

Good morning, gang! Another hot day headed this way around here.

Not a lot going on around here today. The highlight might be a trip to Publix, at which I will be going in with Bert, as long as I can get one of those ride on shopping thingies. They're very popular at our Publix, especially with the morbidly obese customers whose rears take up half an aisle alone!! That might just be about all we have going on for the day. At least there will be some new shows tonight - Blacklist and Blue Bloods will be new, for a change.

Dave - Bert got the estimate yesterday. Price is reasonable for a quick fix, but not as extensive as I would have liked. That figures!! It's going to cost $400 to put in new and reinforce the cross bars down into the water. That will at least make the dock steadier and I won't have to worry about anyone falling in to the lake to become gator bait. Better than nothing, I guess.

Lee - None of us have a lot to say everyday, so just relax and enjoy life doing nothing or sitting outside having coffee or a glass of wine and recharge for a bit.

Kathie - Thank goodness our numbers are improving here in Florida, finally. Some counties are to the point where you do not have to wear a mask if you've been vaccinated, unless you are in a crowded place. Not too sure I'm ready for that yet, but it's nice to be able to get out and about with things not so restrictive.

I got sick to my stomach yesterday when lil t started talking about running again in 2024 and possibly having Florida's #1 a$$hole governor as his running mate. That would be time to kiss the good ole USA goodbye as they would totally destroy this country at lil t's puppet masters' orders. Sad, very very sad.

I got a trip down memory lane yesterday when I got a package from my sister in law. She is slowly going through all my brother's things and she sent me a lot of pictures and papers that only I would be interested in keeping. Pictures of my father during WWII while stationed in Calcutta India, his early years on the police department and a few pictures from our one and only family vacation to Florida when I was about 5 years old. She also sent my parent's marriage certificate and similar type things. Took me quite a while to go through the package, stopping to shed a tear here and there, but a lot of paperwork for family memories. As the only one left to our original family, I will treasure it all.

Once again, I've been going on and on, so it's time for me to shut up and decide just what needs to be done around here before we go shopping. Have a wonderful Friday, everyone. Stay safe and behave! :)

Sneaking in just before noon to wish you all a GOOD FRIDAY!
And TODAY indeed is Orthodox Good Friday for us Christians.
Am I going to go to all the church services like I have for decades....NOPE!
Just too many people that only attend church once or twice a year will show up with
NO MASKS just like they did last Sunday. (Palm Sunday for us) I'm not ready to get into that
situation just yet. I'll watch the Virtual Services at various Serbian churches around the USA.
I have found a few that have MUCH BETTER Virtual Live Feed than our church does. The sound is so much better at a few of them.

LEE:
We all have OFF DAYS. It's COLD and WINDY like crazy over on our side of the border. Temps blow in from 47 - 50F , up and down all morning.

I see a Wrabbit has posted just now. Let me go see who it is. Hope I don't loose this post.

Well it was PAT that had posted.
Nice that your Sister-in-law took the time to send you some of the family treasures. I'd be sending her a HUGE THANK-YOU not in the snail mail in hopes she might just send you MORE. You can pass it down to one of your kids that you think would keep them safe.
Not a bad price for somebody having to get into the water to fix those posts, etc. I'm sure the surface will be just fine for the amount of action on your dock.

DAVE:
I did not end up making those Lemon Bars yesterday. Started to watch the NFL Draft picks and then it was just too late.
Those people who traveled from all over to FREEZE and GET WET in that outside venue are just plain old crazy. They didn't even have seats set up outside. Way too many people in one area .... even though it was OUTSIDE. I gave up on it after awhile. The thought of how much MONEY those young men were going to get is staggering. Art googled it and I just hope they don't "GO BAD and ROTTEN" from their new found wealth. Some of them looked like they had attitudes already. Art said......those are the ones that will fit in perfectly with the current bunch of Bad As*es! Ha Ha I won't be watching tonight.

So instead of Lemon Bars I am making 2 Lemon Meringue Pies. One for us and one for Easter Sunday dinner that will be here at our house. I won't put the Meringue on the Sunday pie today so it doesn't weep and go flat on me. I'll do it Sunday morning.
Jill is doing a large Turkey Breast and bringing a dessert and I'm doing the other fixings that you would normally have for (Thanksgiving). Ha Ha. Yes, we are breaking from normal tradition of Leg of Lamb and Stuffed Cabbage Rolls etc. Turkey just needs yams, stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy. Oh and Cranberry too.

If the weather permits the kids will put up our awning, but I really don't think it will be a nice day for that. TOO WINDY from what I see in the weather forecast.

Karen you still need to tell us about TOM and cutting Jane's hair. There must be a story attached to that.:)

I'm out of here for now.
LEE....stay inside today. You'll blow away if you go out.

The kitchen is waiting for me. Haven't heard anything from my friend Elaine who is in the hospital. Hope she's alright.

Well....the best laid plans of mice & men....didn't make it back here yesterday & Jane didn't get her hair cut....while we were eating breakfast she said her stomach was kind of upset...and about 45 mins. before we were going to leave she said she really did not feel well...we took her temp & it was just over 100 degrees so we decided it would not be a good idea to expose anyone else to whatever bug she had picked up...I called Tom to let him know & he agreed so we will try again for next week....more to follow...

Pat, sorry to hear Cappi is back to her old chomping mean tricks again....is she out of kitty toys again? That was so nice of your Sil to send you the family papers...I know it means a lot to you!

Lee, hope you have a good day...relax & enjoy a little pampering...it's good for the soul!!

Kathie, hope your friend Elaine feels better soon....your Easter dinner sounds delish! We love just making a turkey breast instead of the whole turkey since none of us really likes the dark meat. Hopefully the weather will cooperate & you can get the awning up this weekend!

Dave, good news on the lung scan! Not so good news on Kathi taking a tumble! And yes...it is way past time to get the media involved on this mess Royal is doing with you! Did you call the credit card company & dispute the charge?

To answer all the questions about Tom cutting Jane's hair....Yes...he used to work as a beautician many years ago...he cut's several of the ladies hair in here...and cut mine a year or so ago....he does a nice job & only charges $15 for a hair cut & style... Jane has been talking about getting her's cut short forever...and has finally decided to just do it! So that's the scoop on that!

Not much else going here today....I decided to skip lunch today at the clubhouse since I was around Jane yesterday & today when she was not feeling well...I didn't want to take a chance of passing on a bug to any of the others that were there...99.99999% sure it's NOT covid as she has none of those symptoms...more of a tummy/bathroom kind of bug...I took her some Gatorade & Chicken soup this morning & she said she is feeling better other than having the scoots...her fever is gone too so that's a good thing...now I think I will see what is for lunch & maybe sit out on the porch to eat...later gang!

Karen: Hope Jane I’d feeling better.
You might think about getting her and yourself a “Covid Test” fine to make sure if wasn’t the virus! We had that done right before X-Mas. It was Free. Turned out we were negative.
Might just want to think about getting the Vaccine shot. Too many people walking around and they are not as considerate as you are about staying away from the pool friends in case you had a bug.
I made the Lemon Meringue pie. It tasted pretty good for not having made one in decades.

It was WINDY here most of the day. Sun came out around 2:00 and is still shining at
8:00 pm.

Lee: Hope you had a good day. You too Lu-Ann.

My friend Elaine sounded much better when I talked to her tonight. She’s in a room now. Still doing tests on her.
Later gang. Here’s picture of the pie. We both taste tested it!

Kathie - That's a mighty fine looking lemon meringue pie. YUM!! I haven't make one in a couple of years, but might have to reconsider that now. Glad your friend is finally in a room.

Karen - I agree with Kathie. Good idea to go get a free covid test. You can get the results in about 15 minutes almost anywhere. Still wish you'd get the vaccine. Too many people in Florida not getting the shots and still getting the virus when there's no excuse not to get it.

Went to Publix this afternoon and guess what ... I think Bert is banning me back to sitting in the parking lot again. After not going into a store for over 14 months, there was so much I saw and decided to pick up for the coming week that the weekly food budget doubled!! Then he complained that there was no place to put all the food we bought in the refrigerator, freezer or pantry! Imagine someone complaining that you have too much food in the house? Only my husband would!!
Ate the last of the ribs from the other night along with some sweet Florida corn and a beefsteak tomato from Bert's garden that tasted like a REAL tomato and not one of those forced hot house ones they sell in the supermarket. I told Bert this actually reminded me of and tasted like a Jersey tomato!! Tomorrow I have to blanch another batch of the Sam Marzano plum tomatoes to freeze for gravy somewhere along the line. This will make 2 gallon size bags in the freezer for future use.

Time to say good night, get comfy and settle down to watch the new shows on tonight. Have a good en=vening, everyone. Sleep well and I'll see you tomorrow. :sleep002: :sleep002: :)

Good Saturday morning Bunnies!

So Lee, Now that you've been home a while have you created any new routines in your daily schedule?

That $400 on a quick fix of your dock is a lot cheaper than I expected, BB. But as you said, it's the budget fix. That was so nice of your sister-in-law to send you a package of your brother's and your families memorabilia. With pictures, now most people only have digital ones that are lost on their phones after just a few years.

KC; You've solved the mystery of connecting Tom and him giving women haircuts. Happy to read that Jane's symptoms don't indicate a Covid infection. I gather that she too is reluctant in getting the vaccination. It's starting to look like the cruise lines, when they start operating in the U.S again, are going to be requesting proof of vaccinations in July. They want at least 90% of the crew and 90% of the passengers to be vaccinated.

Let me be first to wish you a Happy Easter, K2. You are going to have to give us a Reader's Digest history of why your Orthodox holidays don't match the dates of most other religions. And when they started this. We too prefer the turkey breasts over the whole turkey. Way too much energy expended carving up those things. The fans of the NFL Draft got a lot of sunshine yesterday in Cleveland. Cool but sunny. I agree that too many of these young players turn stupid with their newfound wealth.

Around here, today will be a sunny day too. But the temperature only getting to about 60. Depending on how warm if feels in the morning sun will decide weather I head outside to tidy up some flowerbeds and attack some early weeds.

"WET TEDDY BEARS HERE, WET TEDDY BEARS!" Every time I see that commercial, I smile.

Good morning, everyone! And the heat is on!!! By midweek we may be seeing temps as high as 96! Tool time, Karen, for sure. Bert's already complaining that it's too hot to sit outside for very long. My answer to that is to BRING IT ON!!!

Dave - I don't think I have ever seen that commercial for wet teddy bears. I'll have to look for it. My trouble is that a lot of what I watch on TV I record and when a commercial comes on, I just fast forward to get past commercials. After all, how many car commercials or worse yet, how many ambulance chasing lawyers do you want to have invading your house over and over all day & evening? Fast forward is a wonderful thing.

Not a lot going on around here today. I really don't even have to cook anything great. BLTs for lunch and hamburgers with grilled onions for dinner. How easy is that? I definitely do need to blanch another pile of San Marzano tomatoes and get them into the freezer before they go bad. They are too good to waste.

So unless something exciting happens around here, I'm going to slip out the hutch door and enjoy a cup of coffee while I read the newspaper. Have a fantastic Saturday and I hope you all have a bit of fun planned for today. Just stay safe and wash those hands. :)

Good morning.
Part of this whole danged procedure is that some days you just feel lost. I’m doing my best to recognize it and get back on track. It also has my emotions all over the ice as we hockey loving say. Not that I particularly love hockey…

I have a post surgery therapy orientation Friday. They deal with recovery, exercise, food and all of the other nonsense I’m experiencing.
Maybe I just need a fresh wet teddy bear Dave.
Border closure be damned Kathie! Keep posting pictures like that pie and I’ll there in a flash.
I imagine that once the border reopens we’ll be in the US grocery stores with eyes wide open too Pat. I can see us renting a U-Haul to get all manner of yummy stuff back home. :p
Good to hear Jane is feeling a little better Karen. When I hear the term “the scoots” I picture a puppy dragging their butt across the floor.
I did make it to The Navy Yard today with Lu-Ann and Ava. I walked a bit and parked my butt on a bench in the sun. When the sun ducked in I retreated to the van. Still, it was good to get out.
You all stay safe. I’m hoping that the light at the end of this covid tunnel isn’t a train!

Good afternoon!! As Pat mentioned we here in Florida are feeling...
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhZba-P7R18

Lee, glad you were able to get out & about for a bit...sitting in the sun & just watching the water has got to be a boost for your mental state...

Kathie, that is a very FINE looking lemon merigue pie...I would eat a slice or 2 of that in a heart beat!

Dave, I've seen that Wet Teddy Bear commerical...Liberty Mutal does have some odd & creative insurance commercials that's for sure!

Pat, lucky you to have an abundance of home grown tomatoes..I have a couple of cherry tomato plants...but it will be a while before they produce anything....I did have a blt the other day & it was prety tasty!

Not much of nothing going on here today...I actually slept till almost 8:30...had my coffee & puttered around a bit before I decided to get busy & mop the kitchen & living room floors....had the garage door repair company scheduled for a service call on Monday, but got a call today they had a cancellation so they could come between 12-2...nice guy came & adjusted the door...so now my truck antenna doesn't whack it everytime I go in or out...he also told me how to oil the track & the wheels once a year with WD40...$85 for the service call I didn't think was terribly bad...and he didn't "find" a bunch of extra stuff to charge me for, so that was even better!
Hard to believe it's May 1st already...this year is just flying by....think I will mosey out to the kitchen & see if anything good strikes my fancy for lunch....catch up with you all later

Hi Gang.
Lee: Good to know you have a group meeting to go to and find out that everything you’re going through is normal progression in the HEALING process. Think about how much they repaired inside your body and accept it will take some time to mesh-together and heal. Start watching some old movies and take your mind off of things! This will all be a memory soon. (I speak from my past) ;)

Well it was SUNNY until 2 mins ago. Now it’s raining! Bummer for all those outdoor MAY 1st wedding! :emoticon 0104 surprised:

Karen: Cool video. That should get Lee’s heart pumping. All those flashy gals. Ha ha. Glad the garage repworked out for you.

Dave: I’ll get back to you on the Easter dates!
And just like that the SUN IS OUT AGAIN. THAT WAS A 3 min shower! Ha ha.

Time for me to say good night. We had a very quiet day around here. Spent lots of time on the lanai, ate a light supper of delicious hamburgers and now it's time for me to go on a search on the TV. I need to find the Outdoor Network. Sounds like fun, huh? Next Saturday at 2 Outsoor Network will be showing that major bass fishing tournament that was filmed here in Bellalago last fall. I know they were fishing right off the end of our dock, so I want to see about recording the show.

So on that note, I will see you all in the morning. Have a good evening. :)

Pat: I remember when you told us about that fishing tourney going on. I didn’t know it was off your dock. Hope you can record it so all your famiky will see it. Heck, I’d like to see it.
I was a busy Bunny today getting things ready for our small family Easter Dinner! All I need to do is put things in the oven tomorrow and SET THE TABLE.

I told Art that the one thing you need to do t have a successful “event, party, dinner” etc.....is a Clean emptied DISHWASHER the day of the event. He laughed and said: “I think you tell me that every time you‘re having a dinner party”! Ha Ha. I told him it’s a good thing to REPEAT and remember! He just shook his head and smiled!

You all have a good Sunday. And in Serbian the saying of the day is
HRISTOS VOSKESE....( Christ has Risen) and the reply is: Voistino Voskres...(Truely He has Risen).
Okay church lesson over for this year. They’ll be a test NEXT YEAR.

Rabbit Easter GIF

Good Sunday Morning.
Happy Easter to you Kathie. I’ll be sure to study for next year’s test.
Geez Pat. Remember when you could find somebody who had the channel you want, give them a VHS tape and they‘d record your programme.
For some reason Karen, that video comes up as “not available in your country”. I know the song and the artist and it’s my favourite version of Hot Hot Hot.
Mornin’ Dave.
It’s supposed to hit the mid to upper 70’s here today. Another fine day to, in my case, do nothing. And that is getting really old really fast.
You all enjoy whatever you all get in to. Just stay safe doing it!
