Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

No, I don’t know where my post that I thought I did yesterday went. I was busy building that covid grannie flat out behind the hutch until Pat let’s me back in after my vaccine.
Karen, what a great idea for trivia. I’ll tell the others that they owe me about ten bucks each and I’ll cut you in for 25%.
Pat, if the area of a circle is Pi r squared, then why is a pie round? The equation states that pie are square. The platter at The Grille sound tasty!
So birthday girl, you got a Starbucks gift card and like a kid with change burning through their pocket you had to get out and spend it. Good for you!
The garbage collection in our FL spot has pretty strict rules about the bins too Dave. The trash valet calls security if people have overflowing garbage or recycle bins and they get a warning! Around here as long as cardboard is no larger than 30” x 30” and tied with a red ribbon they take it. All true except the red ribbon part. They prefer green. :emoticon 0140 rofl:
As nice a day as it is, I don’t have much either. We got the pups for their park walk, I replaced the battery in the car remote and we went shopping. We did score two containers of Lysol wipes though. I know. You’re all thinking “Where does he get the energy?”
O.K. You all stay happy, healthy and wise. The wise part should cover the washing of hands and wearing of masks. That’ll keep you healthy and everyone who cares about you happy.

Good LATE afternoon folks. You all got a blessing on Virtual Church services. I was a sinner and actually had the iPad on the table and ate breakfast while the services was on! Shame on me.

BB: Thanks for saying something about the CLOCK needing changing. Art got all but the one next to me in this spare bedroom/computer area. It was the quickest to change. Pressed the HOUR button one time and it was done! Yippee.
The Grille special sounds yummy.

Lee: Funny how a year ago we were all running around trying to find a 4-pack of Toilet paper on the shelves and Lysol Wipes too. We have all that in our stores here now, but the PRICES are way UP.
Lee,I didn't spend my new Starbuck's gift card yet. I went and got the FREE VENTE SIZE drink that the nice lady added back onto my Mobile App. I always go for the biggest and best when Starbuck's is paying for it. I still have have a container in the refrig because it was so big.

Today we went to Lowe's. Yes, I said "WE". Art actually came inside. We bought a new ceiling FAN Exhaust Fan for Art's bathroom. The other literally died 3 days ago. It was making really ugly loud noises for a few weeks now and it was just a matter of time before it died.

So we found a nice new one. Let's hope it's as QUIET as it's advertised to be. I had $50 dollars of rewards on a old CitiBank Visa card that I never really use and I was able to print off a Electronic Gift Card. So we saved $50 bucks and another 10% for Art's Military discount. Not bad at all.

I stopped at Best Buy and went in MYSELF and returned a phone I bought yesterday. Just too complicated to store phone numbers. Bought a V-Tech single phone for our bedroom. WHY...because it was the same price as a new BATTERY. $19.99. Unreal what they want for a battery. I like the sleek new look of this phone. It doesn't take up as much room as the OLD one did. As soon as the battery is fully charged I'll ATTEMPT to set the date, time, year and try and store some numbers. That's the ugly part of getting new phones. So it's been a PHONE type last couple of days. I gave up on trying to figure out how to do a envelope on this new Microsoft 10. I'm going to breakdown and buy the WORD program, install it and then hopefully it will be almost like the old program. I'm getting way too old for all this modern Technology.

Giving Art his EYE drops so he'll be ready to go on Tuesday for his 2nd Cataract surgery.

DAVE: When do you get to go for your surgery? Did they set a date yet or are you still in the "HOLDING FOR CLEARANCE STAGE"??

NO PIE at this house. We had Birthday cake and are trying to behave. Soon we'll actually have to be outside and among people again and it's NOT GOING TO BE PRETTY! LOL :emoticon 0136 giggle:

I hear Art in his bathroom and then in the attic. I better go see if he needs any help holding anything. Not sure how long he's going to work on this project since it's late in the day already. I guess he wants to get it done before Tuesday when he won't be able to see for a few days!

I watched some Lincoln the program Dave. Sure was different back then. Actually, amazing.

Later.....

Night from Belleview....SOOOO not a fan of this time change...woke up at 6 this morning & never went back to sleep...hoping tonite will be better....catch you all in the morning...

Morning!

It was a pretty good day here yesterday. We woke up to find that our Federal tax refund had been put in our bank account. We've never got it that fast before.

A bit later we got a call from that Walmart in Salem letting us know that there had been a couple of cancellations for Monday and asking if we'd like to come in for our Covid shots. SURE!

Unbeknown to me, Kathi not only bought that end table I mentioned a few days ago, she also bought 2 more small tables for the living room. So now we have 2 that have a lamp coming out of the top and one that doesn't have a light.

So mid day another old table went out to the curb. Abracadabra! Within a few hours it too went POOF, and magically disappeared.

In answer to the question whether I had a date set for my carotid artery surgery, nope. If I don't hear in a few days, I'm going to start making calls.

That Key Lime pie sounds mighty tempting.

As far as this modern technology; In spite of what they say, I find very few devices are actually "user friendly".

I love it when, on the news, they ask a person why they aren't getting a Covid vaccination. As they say, you can't cure stupid.

Good morning!
Well now, after teasing 70F the other day it was 21F when I got up with the pups and felt like, gulp, 16F!

Odd things happening here. The other morning I woke up and there was table with a lamp in it sitting in the driveway. This morning there was another one, smaller, that looked like a mate to the first one. Good for you and Kathi getting that call for the shot a tad earlier Dave. We still wait for our age group to be called. Then it's vaccine roulette. We take what we're offered. There are a couple that seem well tested and proven in the general population. The Astazenica is getting some bad press and the Johnson and Johnson single shot is pretty new and relatively untested in the general population. I tend to think the best one shot is the first one you can get.
Hard to believe that the Canada / US border will have been closed to vehicular traffic for a full year next week. Still no sign of it reopening any time soon. Seeing the likely unvaccinated, maskless idiots on the beaches in FL and TX this past weekend I fear it's gonna be a while yet.
I had to laugh at the thought of your storing numbers in the phone you returned Kathie. Almost as bad a saving passwords for web sites. Best wishes for Art tomorrow and his surgery!
I can still remember the phone number we had when I was a wee little lad. It was RO7 4030. The "RO" was for the "Roger" exchange. That was 63 years ago. What's our land line number here? Unless I look I haven't got a clue. I look at my mobile and it says "Home". I tap that and magically I'm connected.
I have to agree Karen. I wish that they'd just leave the darned clocks alone. Mind you, I have to admit that the only two things I needed to reset were the microwave and oven. The rest of the clocks just, like Dave's furniture, "magically" switched in the middle of the night!
I got to wondering Pat, do the kids or grandkids even know who "Cousin It" was? I forget that I'm older than dirt and remember The Addams Family. What's on the menu at Casa Pat and Bert tonight?
Other than that, not much going on around here this afternoon. But I'm sure something will come. up...

Well, I did a copy and was hoping to PASTE and it didn't let me PASTE.
Bummer. I'll have to be back later to try and re-post. Hate when that happens.

Have a fun day all.

Just wanted to let you know that I probably won't be around for a few days. Just got notified this morning that my only brother up in NJ probably won't be lasting the day out. He's been in the hospital for over 10 days now and I just found out yesterday that he had gone downhill fast. His whole family is gathered at the hospital. Hospice has been called in and they don't expect him to last beyond today. I am just upset, as we were looking forward to seeing each other this spring. Knowing how sick he has been with liver cancer, we had just discussed making a trip back to NJ over the weekend and then I got this message from my SIL this morning. So if I am missing for a bit, you'll know why. We won't be making the trip to NJ for the funeral though. Missy is coming over this afternoon and G&E are coming tonight. I just don't want to sit here alone with Bert waiting to hear. I just can't stop crying, as he's the last one left in my family.

Love you guys!

Pat, so sorry to hear the news about your brother...(((Hugs))) coming from Belleview & know you & the family will be in my thoughts & prayers

Pat, Lu-Ann and I are sending good thoughts and prayers your way.
Love ya Lady.

Pat, it's never easy losing a family member. Sad that you didn't get much notice. Take care and know that your 'extended family' is praying for you and your brother and family. We're here for you.
Prayers Praying For You GIF by MOODMAN

Not much new since last evening. We got a very thin covering of ice over night. That may make it a tad slippery for the worker bees as they all head out. My guess is that by 10:00 it should be all melted. It’ll be OK for walking the pups.
We have a couple of stops today. One at the vet’s office to pick up Katie’s special food. The second at our doc’s office to fill out some kind of forms to update their systems. Nope, haven’t got a clue about that one.
How did the shot go Dave?
Keeping Momma Bunny and her family in our thoughts. But then I guess that goes for all of you as well.
Depending what the day brings I may pop by later to check on all of you.

I feel so sad for you and your family BB. Sometimes the waiting for the inevitable death of a loved one is worse than when you are notified of the actual passing. At least Hospice makes sure that your brother is in no pain and not suffering.

What is your age group Lee? Mine came and went for many weeks before Kathi could find a place that had the vaccine. Heck, her younger age group was OK'd before we found a place.

So yesterday we went to the Salem Walmart and I got the first Moderna shot, and she got some yogurt. Oh yea, she got the first shot too.

Heck, we were at Walmart already. While there might as well stock up on some kind of vanilla yogurt that she likes, but our local grocery store doesn't carry.

This definitely wasn't one of those mass vaccination sites. We had a set time to be there, and that's when we got the shot. One person doing the injections. And while the lady before us was waiting in a chair for 15 minutes before she could leave we got "poked". And when we sat for our 15 minutes the guy behind us got "jabbed". Not a lot of volume. But I'd bet that Walmart didn't have a lot of doses either.

While there they scheduled us for a date and time for the second shot next month.

Only effect of the shot was a slight soreness in my arm. Interestingly, it took 7 hours after the shot to be noticed.

Today, nothing much planned other than a poop-patrol and calling the surgery doctor to see if he's got that scheduled.

Good to hear that the poke went well for both you and Kathi Dave. They are so mucked up in Ontario with the shots. Essential workers aside, everyone over 80 can get a shot. Some areas they are in the 75 - 80 group. Some are in the 70 - 75 group. I fall into the 65 - 70 group with Lu-Ann in the next group. She could get the AstraZeneca shot now because they are giving that to 60 - 64 year olds but with all of the hoo haw over bad reactions has elected to wait.
Here’s a kicker for ya though. Inmates are being vaccinated but corrections officers and staff are not until it’s their turn. I say vaccinate the guards and staff first and let nature cull the inmates... Our young neighbour is a social worker at the prison in Windsor. She has a 1 1/2 year old and a husband but Morganne is not eligible for a shot. “That’s wrong” I say, stepping down from the soap box!

It’s turned in to a beautiful day here. Sitting at 50F under bright sunshine. A perfect day for football.
Be sure to let us know how Art made out Kathie.
What are you up to Karen?
Stay safe my friends.

So sorry to read this Pat. At least you know that your brother is at peace and no longer in pain.
(((HUGS))) headed your way.

My heart goes out to you and your family, Pat. It's a tough time in your lives, and there's no easy way to get through it all.

And at our ages we have to suffer through too much of it.

Lee; I saw on the news last night that Ontario is declaring a 3rd wave of Covid infections. In this case they are blaming it on the new variances.

Down here in the U.S., if we get another wave I think we can pretty much blame it on all the partying of spring-breakers acting as if, in any form, Covid doesn't exist. And then taking it home to their relatives and other people they come into close contact with. (More drinking out of the stupid-bucket.) At the moment, this country chalks up 50,000 NEW infections every day.

Got some good news yesterday. My carotid artery surgery has been scheduled for the end of next week. Finally.

Gotta get moving. Just about time to take the pooches to the beauty parlor.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY BUNNIES!

A day when EVERYBODY is Irish. Come to think of it, one of my favorite Irishmen is this fella called O'Bama.
