Good morning & Happy Luna New Year!

Pat, nice work getting Missy to do most of the cooking at your house, I'd love to have someone come in even a couple days a week & cook for me!

Lee, nice that you & Ava got to enjoy a little wild life on your walk this morning, armadillos are actually pretty cool lil creatures.

Kathie, continued prayers for your Sil, I'm sure she has a long road of recovery ahead!
You had posted the swiffer sock pic before, but I have this nice friend in Pure Michigan who knitted me a couple of really nice swiffer covers that I still use.

Dave, pic's of the gas station diner please! Many years ago for my brother's birthday he had a party at a place in W. Palm Beach called Rag Tops, it was a garage type place full of vintage cars &
memorabilia. A really neat place!

Well, under the heading of when it rains it pours I talked to my niece yesterday & she is having some problems with her new liver showing signs of rejection. She had told her mom about it on Sat. & of course Jane called me all freaked out. Amanda told me yesterday that this is normal, 70% of transplant patients experience this and her team is on it. She goes back for a check up on Tues & it's possible they may admit her.

And then this morning I find out that my property is currently in a revocable trust for a Karen J Cooper! Apparently there is another lady name Karen Cooper who lives in N. Lauderdale, Fl & owns property in Marion County. When she set up the trust the attorney used the wrong parcel ID # on the deed using mine instead of hers. It seems a little odd to me that the women who signed the deed did not notice the description was wrong, it even had MY address listed in the parcel description. I spoke with the Attorney's office that prepared the deed & she assured me it was a simple fix and is supposed to let me know when it's corrected. I guess it's a good thing I'm getting a loan for a new roof after all, this could have been a real mess if I'd died without knowing about it. If it's not cleared up in a week or so I will get my attorney involved from here, always SOMETHING!

Based on this weekend's games, you just might get your wish for the SB game, Lee, although Joe Burrow might throw a wrench into those plans. A couple of good games over the weekend, if you disregard the Bills' performance (or lack thereof). Just realized that we will be on our cruise for the Super Bowl. We have had that experience once before and they really made quite a production of that with the game on the big screens and plenty of football game snacks.
Gray and kind of gloomy here this morning. In fact the street light out in front of our house is still lit. Nowhere near as breezy as yesterday, though.
Not sure why but none of your pictures are visible on my computer screen, K2. Guess I'll just have to imagine them.
Karen, we had a similar problem so many years ago, that I have forgotten the details but somehow it appeared that a lien against another William Gallagher's property was showing for my property. Fortunately the error was caught and quickly corrected.

And a second good morning to everyone.
I reckon the Amherstburg squirrels miss us and our peanuts more Pat. There are more squirrels here this year than in the past. With the change in garbage collection there may be fewer natural enemies for them. Still, they’re mighty thin. Is Wesley leaning towards a career in the food industry? And, um, well, we are sitting out on the pool deck with our coffee as I type.
One thing that did go through my mind Kathie was “Sock it to me”.
Food sounds good Dave. This house is on Roku TV so no network tv. I had to follow The Bills game on the NFL site on this “interweb” thing. From The Bengals first possession, snow aside, you could feel the game as Paul Simon sang “slip slidin’ away“.
Lots of folks jumed on while I was pecking away here.
What else could possibly stop your day from going well Karen. Hopefully it is a quick fix!
Joe Burrow did put on a good display yesterday. Josh Allen has to learn that he can’t do it all by himself.
Tonight we’re meeting friends at Disney’s Port Orleans for beignets and a cafe at lait. For real NOLA fare it should be chicory coffee.
Enjoy your day everywhere.

Good Afternoon Wrabbits.

Negc: Sorry you couldn't see the SNOW pictures, but I'm sure you're NOT missing it at all. Even with your UP and DOWN temps in Florida it's much warmer and better than up here!
Sorry about the Buffalo guys losing. They can always blame it on the snow. Ha Ha.

DAVE: Nice pic's buddy. If we're ever passing through your area we'll be sure to let you know and meet you up at the cool restaurant. And speaking of you having "mimosas", I bought 2 bottles of Proscco Champagne at my last grocery shopping trip. It was regularly prices at $16.99 a bottle and being discontinued for $5.69 a bottle. They had 2 bottles left and I took them both. THEN when I was checking out the kid who was ringing up the bottles only scanned one and pushed the other one along the moving belt. Well, for $5.69 I didn't bother correcting his error. Kroger can handle the loss! Now watch me CHOKE when I open the bottle! Ha Ha. It's so good in Orange Juice.... anytime of the day.

Went to the Eye specialist this morning. He walks in shakes my hand, etc, etc and looks at my eyes and said "I see the right eye really needs attention"! DUH.... I'm here for the LEFT EYE! I mentioned that fact to him and he points out AGAIN that the RIGHT EYE is really worse than the left one. I asked him to point out to me exactly what he was seeing. He shows me how the lid is covering a good portion of the iris. (The little black dot in your eye) He tells me, you don't know it but you are lifting your eye-brow to correct it. The left eye is what is bothering me the most.

Long story short they will need a "Field Test" and then submit the results to insurance to see if the corrective surgery is covered. My HOMEWORK is to find 2 or 3 pictures of MYSELF from 10-12 years ago to see what my eyes looked like back then. Ha Ha. Now that should be a fun assignment. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, I'll continue to drive with my finger pushing up on my left lid to take the weight of the lid off my eyeball! Always something.

Karen: So glad you're going to get that Trust issue taken care ASAP. How the HECK could that lawyer screw up a ID number?? Where did you dig it out of? I wonder if the more of that womans paperwork has your Parcel number on it. CRAZY. Good the bank caught that error. Now to get it fixed. We should all check our paper work from time to time.

Prayers going out to Amanda . Sure hope it's a matter of changing some of the anti-rejection meds she's on. Just not what she needs so soon.

BB: How was that ICE CREAM CAKE? Bet it was good.

Nancy: Hope all is good with you and your hands.

Out of here for now. That Linen closet is going to be the death of me. I keep avoiding it.

Kathie, I'm guessing what happened is some law clerk typed the name Karen Cooper into the Marion County tax record base & my name was the first one on the list, so they went with that. I'm more concerned with the fact that the owner didn't catch it either. The attorneys office called me back again this afternoon to verify if I was married or not so they are working on it, I just wish I would have asked the lady what the process is for correcting it. I'm "guessing" they would have to take my property out of the trust & issue it back to me? They would have to do something to clear that record, I'm just not sure what that is.

I did end up with a roofing quote from the "satellite" guy, it's about $400 cheaper than the lower estimate but he wants a 30% deposit, that is NOT happening! To many shifty contractors in this state to put that kind of money down, especially when the other 2 estimates are pay on completion. I have a call into a 4th company so we shall see what happens next

Karen: Thanks for the hood explanation on the property ID error.
And I know you well enough to know you WON’T be giving out any “ UP FRONT” money. If they’re a legit company they’ll WAIT for their payment until the job is DONE!
After all they can put a lien on your house if you don’t pay up.
Tell them you’ve been around the block more than a few times! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

"Ah, the “gorilla of my dreams in a rumble seat”. Good one Lee. It could also be captioned with "The rumble in the jungle". Or better yet, "The jungle in the rumble."

I'm surprised that you haven't started pulling your hair out KC, having to get estimates from contractors. It's hard enough getting a good price, but you also want the work done by someone you feel comfortable with.

BB; The reason I'm so interested in what your doctor's fix is, is because I too have circulatory problems in my legs. And the treadmill and stationary bike only do so much.

Bill, I don't care who plays in the Super Bowl as long as one of them is the Kansas City Chiefs. They are my Navajo granddaughter's favorite team.

You are still messing around on this electronic device, K2? Push the OFF button and get to work on that linen closet.

Lucky us, we have another snowstorm heading our way. It's about a thousand miles away at the moment, but should be here around Thursday.

A tad cool here at 47F this morning. Still most enjoyable morning for a 1/2 mile walk with Ava.
After all they can put a lien on your house if you don’t pay up.
Until the county and lawyer sort out the title they could put a lien on the other Karen Cooper’s house Kathie.
A small deposit isn’t an unusual thing for trades to ask for at home Karen. But good for you dumping anybody who wants too large of a deposit. I think the fella who did our roof, who we knew and trusted, asked for 10% with the balance due upon completion and cleanup to our satisfaction.
I see that storm front headed towards Ohio and right in to The Burg and likely Pure Michigan too Dave. They could see up to 9” at home between tomorrow and Sunday. My cardiologists are both big on walking to keep things circulating in the lower legs. I like “jungle in the rumble”.
We’re meeting friends from The Burg at Columbia in Celebration for lunch. We met Pete and Angie through Peachy’s Mom and Dad.
Almost time for Miss Ava’s breakfast. You all have the best day possible!

Kathie, I had meant to mention a saying my Dad used to say to me if I missed a narrow strip of grass when cutting it. “Blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other”. Still a shock when you go to see the doc about one eye and the other one seems to be the problem.

Good morning, everyone! Still a bit nippy out there right now, but should warm up a bit this afternoon and tomorrow should be around 86. Of course, Thursday's high is only going to be 66. And the roller coaster continues!

Dave - Good luck with that snow heading your way. I love seeing pictures of snow while living in Florida. I know. That's mean of me, isn't it? I know you have problems with leg circulation too, so of course I will let you know what the doctor comes up with as a fix.

Lee - Aren't you glad you're suffering through with our weather rather than dealing with snow right now? That had to be a chilly walk this morning for you and Ava. The question is - long pants or shorts? That's what separates the snowbirds from the "natives". Enjoy your lunch at Columbia today. We haven't been there in years, but I do remember that we loved their tapas and the sangria they prepared table side.
We also love Celebration Town Tavern right by Columbia. It's all New England seafood and is very popular with tourists and locals alike.

Kathie - Sorry to hear about your extra problems with your eye lids. I have one eye lid that also tends to cover most of the iris. It was a real pain getting a new passport a few years ago, as I couldn't open my eye wide enough. I feel for you if you are having this problem with both eyes.
The ice cream cake the other night was delicious and we finished it off. A Carvel cake has been a traditional birthday cake since we moved to Florida because you can't get a really good birthday cake at Publix. Real bakeries don't exist around here.

Karen - I don't blame you for passing on that last roofer. No way would I ever put up that much of a deposit before any work is done. I think we've both seen how some of these guys take the money and are never to be seen again.

What's on tap around here for today? Not much. I don't have to cook tonight as I made extra delicious pork chops for dinner last night and still have lots of the extras to go with it. I guess the highlight of my day is going to be to prepare a shopping list of what all I need for the turkey dinner on Thursday. LOL I lead a simple life!!

Anyone been following along with our wonderful dictator governor banning an AP high school class on Black studies? Talk about being a racist!!!

Now where's my paper to start this shopping list? Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Good afternoon! Not even going to try & pretend I will get this finished before noon, Lol!

Kathie, well that had to be disturbing to have the eye dr. tell you the eye you thought was ok was worse than the other! Hope you can get the insurance to approve the procedure.
How's the linen closet cleaning going?

Dave, no hair pulling so far, but it is challenging trying to make sure I am comparing apples to apples on the quotes. Some use one kind of valley material & other's use a different one. Most of them have included drip edge except 1 & he was the highest quote, go figure!

Pat, pork chops sound good, you really should try them in the air fryer! That is about my fav. way to fix them.
I too am curious about your Dr. simple fix on the leg.

Lee, enjoy your lunch at Columbia! I've only eaten there 1 time in S. Augustine but it was very good!

Well, I believe I have found my roofer! Had another one come out this morning to give me a quote & not only was he about $500 cheaper than the others he explained in DETAIL how the work would be done. Showed me pictures of my roof & samples of the material they use & everything. They also include 3 sheets of plywood in the quote where the others were only 2. He even said they include a wind mitigation report by an outside inspector which "should" save me some $$ on my insurance, especially since they follow S. Florida code which is stricter than central Fl. I told him he was definitely a contender for the job, but that I could not sign a contract until my loan closed. He said he understood & that was not a problem at all!
Now just waiting for the deed issue to be corrected & I will be good to go!
Making a pot of turkey/chicken vegetable soup, cooked all the meat off the bones from the turkey breast I fixed last week & added a can of chicken breast meat to it. Carrots, potatoes, onions, celery flakes cause I never have fresh celery, corn & peas...and boy is it smelling good already! I even made enough to put a container or 2 in the freezer.

Good Afternoon Wrabbits!

Dave/Karen: The linen closet CLEAN OUT of too many towels, sheets, pillow cases, etc, etc is going
SLOW! WHY??? Because I found a bag of yarn and started to FIDDLE AROUND making a crochet pattern swatch. Yup, putting off what I really should be doing. I'll going back to right after I get off this computer!

Karen: Sounds like the 'roofer' you mentioned has his act together. Have you checked him out on BBB? I wonder if you Google his company name or his name if you can see anything about him. Can't hurt. All the best.
Your SOUP sounds delicious. You need to make a home made loaf of bread to go with that soup. The leftover dough from the pizza I made the other day turned out good and the house smelled like a bakery! :emoticon 0100 smile:

Lee: Sure hope you had LONG PANTS on for your EARLY morning walk. It's VERY SUNNY here today and 37F right now. BUT........we all know it will CHANGE QUICKLY on WEDNESDAY.

Out of here for now. You all behave.

SIL is still in really bad shape. Daughter hasn't mentioned any up coming surgeries. I saw more pictures of the inside of the car and she lost more blood than you could ever imagine. We're talking puddles on the entire floor mat. So sad.

Kathie, I googled all the roofers & checked reviews before I even called them for an estimate. BBB is a joke, so I don't even bother checking those reviews. The company has been in business since 1989 so I think all will be good, finger's crossed any way!

Karen: I knew you were on TOP of all this! Way to go girl!
And you're right about BBB.... it is a joke.

My SIDE hurts from getting up and down on the chair to reach the top shelf of this STUPID CLOSET. I should have taken the time to bring up the small folding ladder. DUH! Jill told me that the Animal Shelter by her takes towels and sheets! I can understand towels, but I question them taking sheets.

I found some lovely Clear Lucite serving pieces that friends brought to us over 30 years ago as Housewarming gifts! Still in the boxes. Used about 5 times or so. I need to find a young couple to give these to that will still be having parties to use them. Just can't pitch them. They're too big for the kind of parties we have lately. Ha ha. Old people Gumming down Jello parties. Ha Ha.

Talked to my SIL (Joan) and she sounded weak, but much better than I would have expected.

She said the guy that hit her lived 4 blocks from the accident. Is a retired doctor and was driving a ..... MASERATI car. She said his car was totaled too, but he walked away with no injuries.

Hope you all had a GOOD DAY. Off to make some dinner for us.

Good evening.

The hands are still a big problem and so is the neck. At least I have an appt for the hands in 2 weeks. And hop to get an appt for the neck soon.

SIL has been having problems with his eyes and the Dr he has has him on 5 different drops so he was able to get a second opinion and this Dr said no to the drops he is using and having him do something different. He said he is going to try what the new Dr says.

Karen, this last guy sounds perfect.

All have a good night.
