Lee: I love to 'dangle some bait' every so often and see if one of you guys' bites on it. You didn't disappoint with the "Anybody else hear Tony Chuckling" statement. Ha Ha.

Art didn't need a shot in the eye today. The x-ray showed that
without the shot 6 weeks ago the
aneurism actually shrunk a tad. So now he's going to give it 8 weeks and see what happens when he goes back for another x-ray.
Art also went to the DERMO doctor and had one spot removed and sent out to see if it's pre-cancerous or not and then had about 12 spots on his bald head blasted with the nitro gun.

So little Artie did a DOUBLE Doctor appt day and it all worked out fine. Better him than me.

Now about the railing on that pool deck. Maybe you clever guys could make some seats around the edge of the deck. Some could be
hinged to open for storage. And also, add a few railings in between the deck seating.

Bummer about Miss Olivia passing. She fought a good fight with that breast cancer. I guess it finally went to her spine and it was just too much for her body to handle. RIP.

I'm off to check on the early news. Gotta LOVE the FBI for RAIDING old man T's house. Ha Ha. I bet they found some hidden candy bars and old McDonalds burgers in the safe! :D

Phooey, the world lost 2 great voices yesterday!

The girl next door, Olivia Newton-John at 73.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWz9VN40nCA
Bunches of hits of hers came out in the movie "Grease" alone.

But also passing was an award winning author. With a very distinctive voice and narrator of many movies and documentaries, David McCullough at 89. He's the one that narrated Ken Burn's series "The Civil War".

My trip to the dentist went fine yesterday, As did Kathi's bone density test. But she won't get her results till later this week.

NOOO Lee! We won't take a vote on how dense K2 or Kathi is.

Thanks BB. Now I've got the hungries for a Bloomin Onion. Oh yea....I'm nosey. How much did you drop into the Caddie this time?

Another early up and atem for Kathi this morning. I'll be riding with her, but she's got to see the dental surgeon who's doing her implant. (A months long procedure.) This may be the day they put the screw into her jawbone. Then another long wait while the bone grows around the screw. Maybe, just maybe this whole procedure will be finished in September.

We support the financial welfare of all types of doctors.

Good morning. Got a good nights sleep so was up a bit early but that is okay.

Bruce had an appt at 11:30 with the Dr but they called and changed it to a duo call at 11:30, that works.

All have a great day.

Wish I was somewhere near water like this right now! I think it's time for a drive to Lake St Clair or Ludington real soon!

I have nothing for you Wrabbits right now. Enjoy the day. Love the 72F temps up here right now.

Good rainy afternoon, everyone! It may be warm outside (84), but the humidity thanks to the rain makes it like an oven outside. I real crappy day for the last day of summer vacation for the kids in this area!

Last evening was "meet the teacher" night for the kids that go to Bellalago Academy. Nate is in all honors classes. We are so proud of him! Jennifer is not happy with the look of her classroom. She said it's mostly brown and boring. Knowing that creative little lady, she's bound to paint some pictures at home and bring them to class for the teacher to hang up. I wouldn't put it past her to do something like that.

Dave - 2K!!! Glad your appointments went well yesterday. Ouch! to Kathi's procedure today. Just the thought gives me chills.

Kathie - Good for Art getting in 2 doctor's appointments in one day. Bert never gets to leave the dermatologist without some new burn marks on his head somewhere. He's a good customer there every couple of months.

Nancy - I'll bite ... What's a duo call? That's a new term I never heard before.

Lee - How's life on your side of the river today? Have you got temps similar to Kathie's? That definitely would be a lot more comfortable.

Had the home health nurse here this morning. He didn't have to redo my legs , so it was a short visit, which was nice for a change. He told me that someone else wants to come tomorrow, but we had already decided we were going out for a while, so they aren't going to be able to come tomorrow. Do I sound upset? LOL

Much as I loved hearing about the raid on lil t's place and the reaction of all the repubs, I was equally saddened to hear about the passing of "Sandy". Did you hear or read John Travolta's remarks yesterday to her and signing it "your Danny" from John. How sweet was that? May she RIP after her long battle. :(

Leftover for dinner tonight. We had picked up a Sam's roasted chicken yesterday during our running around. I had Bert take it all off the bone and just save the breasts for us for dinner last night. The rest got chopped up and put in the freezer for future use. We had baby potatoes and asparagus with the chicken which I heated in a delicious combination of a jar of chicken gravy and a can of cream of chicken soup. It was soo good. I'm looking forward to having it all over again tonight.

Time to get the feet up for a while, so I'm heading for my wonderful recliner. Have a wonderful rest of the afternoon, gang!

I should have said LEXINGTON, MI not LUDINGTON. Ha Ha. Ludington is on the West side of Michigan. Nice area, but too far for a day drive! :)

Breaktime! 2 more small drawers to go and then I just have to go through 2 small drawers that I keep paid receipts and bank statements from checking account. I'm going to be pitching that HABIT. I'll save 3 months of reconciled statements and the rest are getting shredded. It's all on the computer these days and no need to hold on to all those papers. Old habits are hard to break, but I'm forcing myself to LIGHTEN UP ON PAPERWORK.

I still have all the silver and glassware from the Dining room to get rid of. Can't wait until this is all over with. Of course, then there's the BASEMENT to DEAL with. I think that will be a Winter project.

Hey there BB!! Nice to know you're relaxing in your cozy recliner. That had to be the best investment you made in a long time.

How's the CADDY doing? Is it all fixed up. I'm thinking the BILL was a nice big chuck of change! Ouch.

Okay, back to work for this gal. This stuff isn't going to get sorted out by itself. ;)

Karen, Lee, Bill, Dave.........hope you're all having a good day.

Hello everyone.
Pat, it is indeed a much nicer day, temperature wise, here in The Burg. All of “the usual suspects” were down at The Navy Yard this morning. It was a nice, cool start to the day. We had a Costco chicken on Sunday to go with roasted cauliflower florets. We strip the rest off the carcass and had it with our Asian salad last night. Did you have “Meet The Teacher” nights before school started when you were teaching?
Hadn’t heard of Duo before Nancy. Thanks for the tip!
We don’t get any paper bills or statements any more Kathie. Everything is on line. We an access 2 years of statements online at any time. To think that we used to have a “current” drawer and a filing cabinet full of invoices, receipts and statements! We do still have a junk drawer though. I do sometimes wonder if you toss out a line to see who bites. Just part of the humour with this gang that most wouldn’t get. Good news for Art on a couple of health fronts.
Wow Dave. I had forgotten about the “shower scenes” in that video. Just shy of soft core porn I say! I had to watch it a couple of times to be sure. ;) Is the vote, if we were having one, a secret ballot? I had to “Google” David McCullough. One of those folks who’s voice you knew but not necessarily what he looked like.
Good luck at cribbage tonight Bill.
Hope all is well with you too Karen.
But, before I go, I heard that one of the tapes from an answering machine at Mar A Lago had this conversation recorded. “Donny, it’s Joe.” “Joe who?” “Joe a$$ is going to jail”. Investigators traced it back to the 202 area code.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone!

That was a good one LEE! I don't think ANYTHING will come of this "Mar A Largo Search". The man gets away with everything. Like he once said: "I could shoot straight down 5th Avenue...... etc, etc." Nothing would come of it. Think TEFLON.

I got a lot done today. Proud of myself.

Tomorrow after I wash the bay windows, we will attach the new dining room valances up to the bay window area and that job will be done. The drapery place wanted $160 to drill about 8 holes......... NO WAY. Art and I went to the shoppe and the nice lady showed him just what to do and gave us the brackets and it should be a piece of cake job. I might have to treat my man to a lunch for saving us some bucks! :clap002:

Negc: So just where do you and Rita stand after last nights games?

Karen: How's it going over your way girl?

Off to catch the 11 O'Clock news.

And YES LEE........I do throw out a few singers to see if you're paying attention to my posts! ;) ;)

Is it dawning on you yet that you are more of a pack-rat than you thought, K2? Still time to get that kiddie pool for the deck. Pick up a little rubber ducky while you're at it.

Lee; Are we enjoying a little too much that Mar-a-Lago search? IT'S ABOUT TIME!

No screw put in Kathi's jawbone yesterday. That's planned for early September now.

This morning; Fuzzbutt goes to the groomers. After dropping her off we go grocery shopping. Kathi is just not getting a chance to sleep in this week.

Play safe all you cute little Bunnies.

Good morning. It will be another hot day here.

Yesterday got a call that the new hearing aids are in so will be going to get them in a bit and I sure hope these are what I want and need.

Yesterday we emptied the fridge/freezer in the garage to really thaw it out. When I was putting things back I did throw a bunch of things out.

Jennifer posted a photo of Max leaving for the bus for his first day of high school. It is his first day at a normal school, i.e. not a magnet school and only having to ride one bus to school. And his first year of no uniform.

All have a great day.

The HOA arranged with a sealcoating company to do their thing on all our roads and sidewalks beginning next week. In conjunction with that work some of the homeowners signed up to have our driveways done and that was due to be done today (with a rain date of tomorrow). Last week the sealcoat company reported that due to problems created by the current heat wave they would postpone the road and sidewalk work until the end of the month or beginning of September. No word about whether or not the driveway work would be similarly be delayed though I pretty much concluded that it would have to be. Nonetheless we followed their recommendations by getting our cars out of the garage so that we can access them during the period until we can use the driveway. At this point there is no sign of the company or its crew so I suspect my initial opinion was correct and it will be a couple of weeks before the work gets done.
Gas prices continue to drop though not as much or as soon as some the Biden critics would like. Then again, they wouldn't be happy if there wasn't something about this administration that they didn't like.
Another hot and extremely humid day but the weather gurus promise that relief will arrive tomorrow.
Sad to hear of the deaths of Olivia Newton-John and David McCullough. I have enjoyed several of his books and I have a vague memory of having lunch in a Boston restaurant at the same time that he was dining there.
As the story of the FBI raid on Trump's Florida home unfolds, it should be interesting to learn what they were looking for and what they actually found. Hard to believe that he wouldn't have destroyed anything incriminating, but then again the 'stable genius' might have thought he was invulnerable . Time will tell.

Cribbage last night was a success as we managed to win 4 of our 5 games and earn 9 points. We played the team which is last in the standings and is the same team that lost last week's match 12-0, so we were fearful that they would be out to avenge the previous week's loss. Fortunately it appears that their last place standing is not without reason. Two more weeks of matches remain so we are in reasonable shape to finish well up in the standings.
The driveway sealing has been postponed until next week due to the high temperatures and apparently the reason that we did not get the notice of the postponement was that they did not have my correct email address. That has, hopefully, been corrected and if the weather cooperates (we are due for a fairly lengthy period of temperate weather), the driveway work should be done and over with soon.
It is significantly cooler today but the sky is gray and gloomy.
NFL teams are back in training camps so the football season will soon be underway. Can't come too soon around here as the Red Sox continue to disappoint and in the latest news their supposed star pitcher, Chris Sales, who missed last season due to injury, and whose return this year was delayed, pitched a little more than 5 innings before being struck by a batted ball that broke his pinkie finger, was involved in an accident yesterday riding a bicycle that resulted in a broken arm which puts his out for the rest of this season. Can you say "star-crossed"?

The color is much lighter, a taupe/gray. The valance looks better in real life. I think the bright light from the windows is the big issue with the camera. Oh well, it is what it is.
The dollie on the table was made by my grandmother and I'll leave it there for awhile! Not big into those things.

Warmer today than yesterday but it didn’t stop me from getting the front grass cut. It’s pretty dormant, as is the back, but now they both look like we do care…
A good night at the cribbage club for you Bill. Oddly enough, I always enjoyed top coating the asphalt driveway. We did pay a guy who came to the door one day. He was doing other driveways on our street. He did a good job at a reasonable price and I picked up a couple of tips watching his crew.
I can see from the tree on your table that the drought has effected your area too Kathie. No leaves. Unless you count the “leaves” in your table. Your window treatments look really good.
I have to ask Nancy. What is a magnet school? Does it attract kids?
I do feel bad for Kathi Dave. Kinda psyched up and then the procedure is put off for a month. Am I enjoying ”The Raid”? In a word, “yes”.
Staying out of trouble Karen? I didn’t think so.
It used to be if a car repair was going to be that much Pat, you saved the money to go towards a new vehicle. With the price of new cars now you simply have the repair done. OK gang, how many of us bought our first mode of transportation (a car or a horse if you’re really old…) for less than $2000.00? My first car, a brand spanking new Honda Civic, was $2134.00 including taxes.
Why, look at that. It’s wine o’oclock.

Sorry for the late afternoon post once again. We were out of here bright and early to head for the Yalaha Bakery in Yalaha FL. It's about an hour and a half ride, but so worth it. It's a German bakery that makes everything in house. I got a loaf of pretzel cheese bread which is to die for and Bert got a huge loaf of sourdough garlic bread, which is a favorite of his. Also bought a piece of apple strudel, apple strussel and Black Forest cherry cake which had callories jumping all over it! This place is a gold mine. People were coming and going in all directions with lots of customers from The Village.

Our goodies will be for dessert after we finish our mini seafood boil for dinner. Living high on the hog in ole Kiss-my-a$$ this week! LOL

Kathie - The valance looks great! Your scarf on the table reminds me of the one I have on our dining room table that Bert's mother made. It's red and is in a circle. I do have to keep a plastic cloth over the Mammy Eisenhauer table cloth as our cat from he!! runs and jumps on the cloth and rides it off the table. Not my favorite, but it is what it is.

Bill - You and Rita did good at Cribbage. Keep up the great job and win lots of $$$$. I too can't wait for football to start up once again, but I'm more looking forward to watching the Gators. Need to see how our new coach fares this season.

Lee - Glad you and all the usual suspects made it to the Navy Park on this nice cooler day. Took a break from what I was watching on TV last night to switch over to faux news. What a joke that was. They are crying all over about how they are picking on lilt. Once of these idiots suggested that they should reopen the investigation into Benghazi with Hillary Clinto. Give me a break!!!

Nancy - So have you picked up the new hearing aids? How do they feel?

Time to grab a glass of wine and go sit on the lanai. We only made it up to 93 today! I want to go relax before I start that seafood boil. Have a wonderful evening, gang, and I'll see ya tomorrow!

In the U.S. education system, magnet schools are public schools with specialized courses or curricula. "Magnet" refers to how the schools draw students from across the normal boundaries defined by authorities as school zones that feed into certain schools. Attending them is voluntary. Max attended magnet school for Elementary School and they had uniforms and were more strict than normal and of course the middle school was "All Boys" and a very strict uniform code, there is also a All Girl Middle school which also has a very strict uniform code. Michael attended a magnet school for high school and it was a technical school and he specialized in Culinary Arts. When Jennifer was growing up she went to a elementary school that is magnet and their day was longer than most as they had special groups for after normal hours.

Pat the new hearing aids feel great. And they work the way I prefer. Have an appt to go back next week and am sure I will tell her they are great. The charger is much smaller and they have one that is covered, which I may or may not get. Found that many places carry the ear domes for the aids and varying prices, I have bookmarked all the good ones and Amazon is not one.

Good evening from Belleview, as usual been busy with one project or another, Mowed Jane's yard on Tues. & then worked at Barb's a bit this morning. Some of the skirting on her mobile home & come loose & I wanted to get to that before anymore started falling down

Pat, those goodies from the German bakery sound Delish!! Enjoy every single calorie, the year you've had you earned it!

Dave, bummer that Kathi dental procedure was put off another month. Of course I'm sure they still managed to find "something" to charge her for since she was there.
I think it was you who asked how old Scooter is, she is 12-1/2 yrs. old. She is my 2nd oldest cat I've ever had, Midge my Siamese was 14 when she passed.

Kathie, your dining room looks beautiful! The light & the Valances look really modern, yet cozy. Great news about Art's eye, hopefully it will continue to improve!

Lee, I heard a rumor we are supposed to be getting some "cooler" weather here this weekend, I'll believe it when I feel it. It was hot as heck even in the pool this afternoon, I am ready for some fall weather!!

Nancy, good to hear the new hearing aids are working out like you wanted. We have a couple of the magnet schools here in Ocala & they are quite popular & get very good ratings.

Bill, nice to hear you are still doing well at cribbage. What exactly is this seal coat the complex is having done?

Ended up cancelling my dermatologist appt. on Monday, woke up feeling a little achy & not all that great & of course the first thing I thought of was covid. Had one of the tests Barb had ordered & it was negative and by late afternoon I was feeling better, so I'm not sure what was wrong but I'm fine now
Have a new project
starting next week, my neighbor wants me to help her paint the kitchen cabinets. She's been talking about doing this for a while, but she finally bought the paint & primer she needed & asked me if I'd help, so I said she. I told her it would probably take most of the week to do the top & bottom & she said that was fine. It needs to dry really good between coats. We will put tarps down in her living room & paint there so it will be climate controlled. I can't say I'm looking forward to this project, but once we get started it will be fine.
Time to go see if there is anything worth watching on TV....later gang!
