Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Last post before we pack up the laptop and prepare for our last sleep before we leave for the airport. With luck we will be fast asleep when 2022 arrives at midnight. Kevin is picking us up at abc 4: 45 am so that we can make it to the airport for our 7:15 am flight. They are asking people to arrive at the airport 3 hours before their scheduled flight but I don't think that will happen and hope that two hours will be sufficient. Only hope that our flight is not among those that get cancelled. Although the average temperatures this winter have generally been above average, we are really looking forward to the warmer weather of Florida's sunny shores.
Sad news about Betty White. She had a remarkable career and we enjoyed just about every show she was in.
Let me be the first to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I know that a year ago we were sure that 2021 would be an improvement over 2020, but let's hope that this coming year will be a better one for everyone.
Lee, we'll try not to use up all the warm weather before you and LuAnn arrive.
Safe travels. In the famous words of Tom Bodette (sp?): We'll leave the light on for you.

Happy New Year Bunnies! Looks like us Wabbits have hopped into a new year. Wishing all of you good health this year. Without that, you have nothing.

Here it is, January the 1st, and it's 52 degrees. BUT, every hour today the temperature drops.

Sucks that Betty White died just a few days before her 100th birthday. She was a great lady.

So K2, when is your Serbian Christmas? Glad you were lucky and got your Covid tests. Around here they are VERY hard to find.

Nancy; So that's what an "Instant Pot" looks like. Looks like a crock-pot to me, with lots of buttons. So what's so special about an Instant Pot that makes you and others buy one?

When you finally get to Florida Lee, you know one of the first things you have to do is go grocery shopping. The tab on the first trip must be awesome.

Sure hope you aren't one of the unlucky ones that get a cancelled flight, Bill.

So where were you yesterday BB?

Thinking about you KC.

Nothing much planned for today. Having sauerkraut and pork for lunch today. I wonder how that tradition started.

Wishing each and every one of you a very HAPPY HEALTHY 2022.
I wonder how long it will take to stop writing 2021?

Yep Dave. Two big shops a year. The first one in Florida and the first one when we get back home.
Enjoy your day my friends. See you all later on.

Good morning and Happy New Year. Right now it is 66 but supposed to get up to 84. Also today we are supposed to get our new dishwasher, will see. I spent New Year's Eve in my normal way, in bed asleep. Guess the reason to get the instant pot is to have a good meal that does not take long to fix. I just can't stand in one place for very long.

All have a great day.

38F and dry so far! Snow is coming just not sure which day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Wrabbits!

Art is out biking already. It’s dry and not bitter cold here.

Hope our GIRL …KAREN shows up soon. This is just NOT like her to be away so long.

DAVE: That first grocery shopping bill was usually about $225 bucks in Florida. It would be even higher, but we bring some staple supplies with us! While we are down in Florida I stopped adding up the expenses. It would scare he heck out of you to know how much we spend on food!

Hope Bill & Rita have LANDED and found their car by now!

BB: How’s it going at the AirB&B home today?

I stayed up and brought in the New Year alone, as Art went off to bed! MAN ARE WE GETTING OLD! Ha Ha.

Wish the SUN was out there! Sure hate thee we gloominess out there now !

Dave: We didn’t get a instant/quick Covid test yesterday. It will take at least 5 or more days to get the results back.

All the HOME TEST KITS that you do yourself and mail in are SOLD OUT! Rite Aid said they won’t get anymore until Jan 10th.

Be safe gang. Out of here for now.

Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR to my favorite cyber family. Actually, my ONLY cyber family!! Sorry I never dropped by yesterday. Actually I never even turned the computer or. It was just a blah type of day. I even took a 4 hour nap in the afternoon!

I felt so bad hearing the news about Betty White. She definitely was a great lady in so many ways.

Dave - An instant pot is a specialized pot similar to and safer than a pressure cooker. I personally still use the pressure cooker when making certain meals.

Bill and Rita - Welcome to Florida! Sorry if you get some crappy weather over the next few days but it will pass soon enough. We're due for a bit of rain and some cooler weather on Monday before things return to Florida normal by Tuesday.

Lee - So you're getting your meds all lined up. Have you started packing yet? I'd be so ready to hit the road after this past year. What day do you leave? By the way - the Mecum auction is getting started.

Nancy - Lucky you booking all those cruises! At this point, I'm just looking forward to our anniversary cruise with G&E and company in February.

Kathie - Congrats on the football win. We haven't watched any of the games. Today will probably be no different. G&E are coming over for a a bit after Jimmy gets some stuff out of their garage. They took most of the stuff from ours yesterday.

Time to get off here for a while and get my legs up. They're doing good, so I don't want to mess things up now.

Have a wonderful New Year's Day, everyone, and stay safe!

Good to hear from you BB.
Did the G&J gang sleep over in the new house yet?
I saw in a Facebook picture that they didn't have a refrigerator and it made me think
that they're still staying at your place.
HOPE you feel better today. You've had a LOT going on lately and having some "Blah" days is understandable.

I've gotten out my knitting and after taking 3 rows out because I made a mistake, I think I'm going to be okay with continuing this Afghan and get it done in the next few months.

Still GLOOMY here and now the WIND has picked up big time. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.

Later gang.

DAVE….I can’t believe you didn’t say a thing a out YOUR. “OHIO STATE” team being in the Rose Bowl game TODAY!
I was watching the Rose Bowl Parade and realized it myself. We could have had some kind of ”M & M” wager!

SO WE HAVE A LAYER OF SNOW going on over here right now.
I HATE when the weather folks are right with their prediction.

We had homemade pizza tonight!
I wanted to make some Sweet Popcorn for us, and realized the one thing I forgot to buy was POPCORN KERNELS! DUH!

Hope everyone had a good 1-01-2022 day!

Checking out for tonight. I watched the Kentucky game earlier, so now I'm done for the night. Time to eat some leftovers and then take it easy before going to bed. See ya tomorrow!

Well, we put Christmas away for another year. Things seem so bare without the tree, garland, elves and so on. I couldn’t believe how many character ornaments we didn’t put on the tree.
We have a little snow here too Kathie. Good that Art got out on the bike before this came. The temps are set to tank with the wind chill making it seem even colder. That Utah / OSU game is more like a basketball game. End to end scoring.
As it stands Pat we leave on January 13 and will arrive in Kissimmee January 15. Lu-Ann has started setting stuff out to pack. Katie and Ava’s stuff is getting organized. Me? Not yet. I was glad to see you say that you were taking some time off your feet earlier. We’re starting to use groceries up here. It’s like an episode of “chopped” as I get creative with ingredients.
I hope Bill and Rita didn’t encounter any hiccups with their flight and meeting their car in FL.
Nothing goes on here on New Years Day Nancy. I was surprised to see you mention getting a dishwasher today. We have two dishwashers. One built in and me. :D
Hopefully you are feeling better and we’ll see your smilin’ face on here soon Karen.
G’nite from just across The Detroit River.

WHAT A ROSE BOWL GAME!
OHIO STATE PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS AND “WINS”! Wow. Great game.
Congrats Dave!

BB: Good you’re looking after yourself. Hope you have a good nights sleep.

Lee & Lu-Ann: Crunch time is always exciting. You just want to make sure this snow stops before you hit the highway. January is always crazy.

KAREN WE’VE left the LIGHT ON for you girl! Heck, we turned on the FLOOD LIGHTS for you! Miss you.

Good night Wrabbits!
Good Night Love GIF by Chippy the Dog

Good morning guys. A Sunday morning, I think?

THE Ohio State Buckeyes sure weren't looking all that good last night. But somehow still pulled a WIN out of their keesters.

We didn't do much of anything yesterday.

Being the first of the year Kathi went to activate her new prescription card at Walley World. No such luck. They said the card wasn't any good. So she then spent LOTS of time on the phone with the insurance company. Now it MAY be OK. She'll find out the first time she uses it.

And that's about all I've got to yak about this morning.

Be good, and play it safe.

Good, yes it’s Sunday, morning everyone.
A record setting performance by your Buckeyes Dave. And if I’m correct, Stroud is still a freshman?
We got a little snow last night. Not nearly what they called for. That’s a good thing.
Both January and March can be funny weather months along I75 Kathie. Does Art have his winter tires on the bike yet?
I don’t know what’s on tap for today. I think a trip to the grocery store for a couple of things. If the roads are good maybe a trip to Freshco in LaSalle. They’re a “no name” off shoot of one of the bigger chains here. If they have what you want their prices are usually a lot less than Sobey’s (their parent company) or Zehrs, the other big name chain here.
Best of all there’s a Starbucks a block away. We actually have a Starbucks right in the Zehrs but how the heck do you shop and sip coffee with a mask on?
When are G&E and crew closing on the place they sold Pat? Any pets as part of their stay? You should be like The Drury Inns and charge a pet fee per stay.
As Kathie would remind us all, stay safe and masked folks.
See you later on.

Good morning. Yesterday we watched (binged) on The Repair Shop, a neat show from England about the repairing of old items, every week is something different. Had watched on Netflix but it changed this year to Discovery so we watched. Of course the dishwasher did not come yesterday, did not think it would, so now when will it come. I think that tonight I will try chicken again in the Instant Pot. Don't have any plans for the day.

All have a great day.

Good morning, everyone! I hope your day is off to a great start. Things are going slow around here. I just finished a breathing treatment while keeping my legs elevated. I want our neighbor, the retired doctor, to check my legs out later to see what he thinks. One will "weep" and the other is swollen with bruises on it. This really sucks, if you ask me, but no one is asking me!!

Lee - Glad vacation packing and planning is kicking in. Using up food is always a good thing. Hopefully, you will be on your way south before any major snows fly.

Dave - I heard that was a good football game. We didn't watch any games after the Kentucky one. That was enough for us for the day.

Kathie - Sorry you're getting a bit of snow up your way. I hope it disappears as fast as it came. Good thing Art went for his bike ride before the snows showed up.

Nancy - My daughter loves her instant pot and uses it quite often. So how are you making the chicken in it?

It's a beautiful day here today, but overnight weather will take a turn and we'll go from 85 to 65 tomorrow. By Tuesday, we'll rebound to mid 70s I can live with that.

Bert wants to take a run to BJ's, but I'm not sure I want to go with him. At least here, I can pretty well keep my feet up. Decisions, decisions ...
One way or another, I'm out of here for now. I sent our gal Karen an email. Let's see if she responds. Anyone have her address? Maybe a quick note in the mail will get her attention and let her know we miss her around here.

Have a wonderful day, gang, no matter what you are doing. Just remember to be good, follow the rules and STAY SAFE!!

Bella, fixed the thighs with a homemade bbq sauce using pineapple, ketchup and a few spices, it tasted good, just hope that today it cooks better.

greetings from warm and sunny Florida. Flight was delayed about an hour but still arrived within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time and we arrived in Vero Beach mid afternoon after stopping for lunch. Condo is very nice and similar in layout to the one in Ft. Pierce but on the first level with parking right out front and only a few steps from the front door. Lots of all the essentials and Publix and CVS are close by. Local channels aren't carrying the Pats game so we may have to go out to see it.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne, met us at the condo and brought the suitcase full of clothes that we sent down with them in their RV.
Bed was very comfortable and we got a good sleep. Our car is due to be delivered either tomorrow or Tuesday but Kevin is here until Thursday so we aren't stranded until it arrives. He went to Publix for us yesterday so we would have stuff for this morning and he and I went to CVS and the local orange grove
this morning to pick up a few things that I didn't have room to pack.
Temperature yesterday and today is in the 80s but they will PLUNGE. to the 70s on Monday and Tuesday. Somehow I think we will survive.
Will check in again either after the game or sometime tomorrow.
What kind of dishwasher are you getting, Nancy? If it is GE I hope you have a better experience with it than we did. BTW they still haven't sent someone to pick up the dysfunctional one that we had to have disconnected. Base on our experience with GE consumer services, I wouldn't be surprised if they never send anyone.
Happy New Year everyone.

Hi WRABBITS!
PAT: I think you need to call one of your doctors about your legs 'weeping'. Something is not sounding right with that. Don't wait too long to do something. Do you get up and walk around your place. That might help with circulation. I don't know what else to tell you. Stay away from SALT, but you already know that.

Lee posted: Does Art have his winter tires on the bike yet?
Yes, ART has Studded Winter tires he puts on one of his bikes for traction. Amazing that they actually make those for bikes. He has both bikes up in the garage right now and picks and chooses which one to ride.
It started to snow lightly just now here in Macomb. It's still WINDY and COLD outside.

Our lawn man, Eddie, who just had his knee replacement the first of December sent his older SON over to plow our driveway and sidewalk. He said he was going to send him out to his customers if it snowed enough. Personally, I think he could have just let it go. It wasn't that bad from last nights snow.

I envy all of you that are spending some time in Florida. You ALL KNOW HOW I HATE WINTER and COLD.

I need to call the Orthopedic office on Monday and ask about my knee. That shot hasn't done a thing for the pain. I got a prescription cream to put on it and it really doesn't help much either. I want to ask for an MRI prescription to see just what the heck is going on INSIDE that knee. This can't just be Arthritis. I'm getting a little "pissy" over this entire issue. I'll try not to bore you folks with it too much. :emoticon 0138 thinking:

I called Karen and left a message on her Cell Phone. Not much more I can do. I just hope she wasn't in some horrible accident. She's making me sick over not knowing how she is.

Nancy hope your chicken turns out okay.

All our nice Bean w/ham soup that I froze is over at our friends house in their garage stand up freezer. I could use a bag of it for our lunch or dinner right now. I'm just NOT going to go out to pick the stuff up with the snow that's on the streets in the neighborhood today. Maybe tomorrow.

Take care folks and let's all hope our Karen is okay! Later gang.

Just saw that BILL posted while I was typing.

HI BILL/ RITA: Thanks for checking in. Nice to know things are going good for you down in Sunny and Warm Florida.
Now tell us why is Kevin there? Did you want to make sure you got on the plane and then got to the condo or did he just want some down time in warm Florida?? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Out of here for now.

Yup.... we're getting a very light dusting of snow right now. Nothing that would amount to anything.
