Let's Play BALDERDASH!!! (copyrighted game name)

Toybn.. that is splitting hairs..

Funnel.. quote" it's almost impossible to pronounce in Scottish" /quote.

I think that judging by my Scottish friend Pat.. all words are impossible for them to pronounce.

Okay...so did I wait long enough so Corky finally fed her poor hubby as Funnel correctly predicted!! It's a birthday poem!!!! So one point for Red, Tobyn and Funnel.

Tobyn gets 2 extra points because Seagrandma and Corky picked the student of genetics

Corky gets a point from Glo-ree-bee for the bamboo steamer.

I'm losing my competitors.... not many definitions today for gogmagog!!!

GAWG-ma-gawg

1. Cutting squares of peat from a peat bog

2. One of several gears in a timepiece

3. A man of immense size and strength

4. An extra large gobstopper

Okay..I think we should spice up this game and have a competition for a prize. I have a paperback book here...nothing extravagant but I've always thought it would be nice to frame a few of the pics if you had a travel/train or cruise themed room. I'll send that to the winner of a week long tournament. Any takers? A Saturday to Saturday...if you guess and create you increase your chances. Everyone in town starting from this Saturday?

3. A man of immense size and strength

4. An extra large gobstopper

Wow . . .this one is tough. I'll swag at #3, but it is entirely a swag.

As for the points Seamom, for me, its just the fun. I do not need a 'real' competition. If others want to, go for it, but for me this is like the tv show "Whose Line Is It Anyway" where the points don't matter. LOL

Yes, Seamom, he got fed....I knew I was wrong in my choice, so I didn't make him suffer too long for his food.

This one is tough for the most plausible answer, so, to whom am I giving a point to this time, by choosing # 2. One of several gears in a timepiece?

Hey, Seamom - I'm like Tobyn, no real need for a prize, nice thought though and I WILL go with whatever anyone wants...but, do you have our point standing thus far?

Come on C@'s...play this game, it is fun!!!

#1.. and it is a WAG!

I am like Tobyn.. you do not need to count points for me to enjoy doing this.
:thankyou::thankyou::thankyou:

Yeah, another point! :egyptian:

Hey, gogmagog has to be me, #3! At least the first half and sadly in the "wrong direction"...

Seamom, do you know how expensive it is to ship things across the pond...:biggrin:

/Erik

I think red is responsible for definition #4
I think #2 is about cogs not gogs
So...#1 or #3 ..... I'm going with #3..A man of immense size! Funnel...you and I had better get a point for this one :boogie:

How one earth could anyone keep track of the points...even for a week! I do it strictly for the humour and the pleasure!

Me, as well. And I thank Seamom for doing this for us, I know it is hard to keep up with, especially for a working woman!! :cheer:

Okay...glad you are enjoying your word games (there must be a 'word' for that!). Funnel may be competing for the book himself and though he's worried about my expense (maybe I should doublecheck! :) ) you can be sure since you like ships, that's the ONLY way I'd send it..lol..how long does it take now, 6 months?

And the winner of gogmagog is........drumrolllllllll...........the mAN! so Funnel ...SCORE!~ and also Beryl and seagrandma and Tobyn!

And that clever Tobyn...no need to be counting when he's raking them in coming and going! You got Corky! And Corky...you got Red...now that's a well-earned point!

And Beryl, I've enjoyed a few gobstoppers in my life! lol...that was my filler definition.

Now...pleased to say I got a lot of good ones for glabrescent (glab-RESS-ent):

1. A flushing of the face; blushing

2. One who is shy in public

3. The act of dismantling a house for moving to another location

4. Hairy when young but hairless when old

5. Flat, without carbonation

6. Exceptionally shiny, extremely glossy

Tough one, eh! One person had a clue but for some reason is trying to mislead you, to what effect, I'm not sure?!? You guys do play a mean game sometimes..... ;)

I'm leaving the country, going to Algeria, if I give Tobyn another point!!

Oh, and Red....Thnx!!

Okay, here is another toughie . . . . I'll go with 1. A flushing of the face; blushing

Sorry Seagrandma . . . I don't know if there is any trust in this game! LOL

Yes! Correct again! :boogie:
This is sooooo... eh... easy...... not!

The only competitor? That reminds me of my sister many years ago. She participated in a downhill competition (slalom). After the first run she was last in her group but after the second run she was first and won. Oh, and she was of course the only one in her group...

Glabrescent?! Think I will take my own guess here. #6 it is!

/Erik

Tsssk tsk tsk...you should have trusted Seagrandma or Beryl! You get glabrescent when you get older and lose your hair.

Now..who gave who points..that was funny too! Corky....get packing....no carbonation for you! Algeria here you go! Tobyn gives a point to Beryl and blushes! Funnel gives Bread a point. Glo gives Red a point!

Now...

apoglutic (a-po-GLOO-tick)

1. To swallow your pride and apologize

2. Star-like ie looking like a star in the heavens

3. A meal prepared with a small amount of sugar

4. An event that feels as if it is in time warp speed

5. Small-buttocked

Did you think I'd make it easier on you?........NOT!

what you should do is to take away a point from me.. as I sent you a hairless clue.. and I expect you could tell that I knew what it was.. and then with everything going on around here.. I forgot to put in my bald guess

Ok.. for this one.. I think that the exercise thingee (Wii) is making my butt a whole lot smaller.(in my dreams...). so I will go with #5
