Good morning!! Finally got my new mouse & am back up & running...the old one lasted 7 yrs...so I guess I can't complain...they sure get smaller & smaller...

Lee, glad to hear you arrived home safely! Sorry the weather here this year was not as pleasant as it could have been.

Kathie, thinking of Art & sending good thoughts for his dentist appt. today. Sounds like a nice birthday celebration in spite of the circumstances...

Dave, I remember Franklin...sadly the years aren't to kind to any of us anymore...if only there were someone to take us in & sand off the rough spots & give us a refresh once a year...nice selection of music on here lately as well...thanks to you & Lee

Pat, hope you are feeling better every day...time for family to step up there game & take a little pressure off of you & Bert instead of adding to it....

Well, Barb's remodel isn't going quite as planned...nothing new...this IS Flori-DUH after all....the guy was supposed to be there yesterday to start the roof patch...he messaged me on Sat. that he forgot he had a Dr. appt. Mon. morning but would be there around 1-1:30....time rolls around & he messages again he's waiting on bloodwork...and now he can't due the patch because it's supposed to rain today & it needs 24 hrs to cure...ok....so he will come around 6 & start the demo work....6:30...still no show...I message him & he said he sent a text to my sister his battery died & he was getting a new one...he wouldn't make it tonite but would be there at 8 sharp this morning....by then I was beginning to wonder if we'd made a mistake..but he did keep in touch...and we haven't paid him anything...so we just kept our fingers crossed...my sister called a little after 8 this morning...he was there & starting the job...so hopefully things will run a little smoother for him now...and that's all the news from Belleview...time to give Scooter her meds & find another cup of coffee...

Good morning, everyone! Up early today as I have a home health care nurse coming within the hour. Oh joy, the fun begins again!!

Lee - So glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound. I bet you were ll thrilled to get to sleep in your own beds after the past weeks away. Nice that your border crossing went painlessly and that your friends had your house all cozy and warm for you.

Dave - Tell me about what it is going to be like with no one else living here. Heck, right now I'm having trouble finding anyone who wants corned beef and cabbage on Thursday. What is wrong with that picture?
My theory on St Tom unretiring is that he was just lounging around the house doing nothing and his wife told him to get off his butt and get a job. If the Manning brouthers could get jobs, so could he. Thus now unretired!! :emoticon 0140 rofl:
Have fun working on "Franklin"

Kathie - I hope all goes well for Art today having that tooth removed. That's never a fun process, so you better be nice to your man today.

Karen - I saw on the news last night that the tornado that cut though Dunnellon and Ocala did 13 million dollars worth of damage!! That's really a lot for an F1 tornado. I'm just glad no one was hurt.

Time to get ready for this health care visit. This should be fun!!

Good morning. Plan for today is Bruce's Cardiologist appt, then he goes to Palm City for a job and me making

Mongolian Ground Beef for dinner, sound easy and good.

Yes the blood was taken from the inside of the elbow.

I had ordered a couple of sleeveless dresses last week and they came in on Sat so tried them on this morning and am very happy with them, they are a size smaller than I had been wearing, so that shows my weight loss.

Karen, I see that Ocala is getting rain now, so I guess no roof work.

All have a great day.

Hi Wrabbits.
Lee: I listened to the entire Video/song while I read all the posts. Nice tune! Mellow.

So glad you had no trouble crossing the border.

Not sure when we will see each other in person. China is CLAMPING DOWN and STUTTING some of it's cities because the COVID is BACK worse than when it first started. And this is why WE ALL HAVE to still be very careful.

Karen: What a story with the ROOF guy. If I lived in Florida the workers would NEVER get a cent out of me until the job was done. Just can't trust them at all. Hope the rain holds off until he gets the roof done or that he can at least cover it with large plastic traps.

BB hope the Visiting Nurse treats you kindly. You're becoming a regular with these visits. ;)

Art's tooth pulling was a breeze. (easy for me to say) He got their at 9:50 and was taken back before he could get his jacket off. I went to sit in the car and knit and he was coming out at 10:10 am. Said the dentist wanted it to have 2 days before he worked on the impressions for the mold of the bridge and the temporary one he'll put in on THURSDAY. There goes some MORE GAS to get 20 miles cross town! Geez.

We stopped at Costco and I ran in for a bag of Coffee Beans and Vitamin D3 pills and some bottled water. Came out and got in the GAS LINE. Gas was $4.04 a gallon. That's .30 cents cheaper than our Kroger Grocery store fuel. I got 8+ gallons and it was $38 bucks and some change. CRAZY! It just feels better mentally to just TOP it off than to drain it and get a full tank these days.

Nancy: Good for you going down a size in dresses. I could only wish to have that happen. Maybe once it warms up and I can get outside and walk I'll drop a few pounds. I won't hold my breath.

DAVE: So good to hear you're taking good care of FRANKLIN. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Later gang. Be safe and remember COVID B.2 is our next variant per the folks on the news. Joy, Joy. I guess they said it's spread 30% faster than the original Covid or the other one. Can't keep up with the goofy names.

Back to our condo from the hospital. They called yesterday and let me know that my 5:00 am appointment had been changed and we didn't have to show up until the much more reasonable time of 7:50 am. Check in was quick and efficient and everything went relatively smoothly as they prepared me for surgery. Once the anesthesia took effect, I don't remember a thing until I woke up in the recovery room. Everyone Rita or I encountered could not have been nicer and all exuded competence and compassion. I am glad that I didn't wait until we got back north to have the procedure and am hopeful that recovery goes as well as everything has so far. No heavy lifting for the next four weeks, but I can begin driving again in a week as long as everything continues to go well. See the surgeon in a week for a follow-up.
Glad to hear Lee and LuAnn made it home safely and that they had no problems getting back into Canada. While the weather this year hasn't been as good as we have come to expect, it certainly was preferable to staying back home these past three months, so we are definitely planning to return in 2023.
Booked that Greenland cruise in the Fall of 2023 and looking at a NE/Canada cruise out of Boston this Fall because we have some cruise credits that have to be redeemed or lost.
Check back later but my bed is beckoning to me right now. Doubt I will be getting up as early as 6 am tomorrow or for the rest of our stay,

Is it a vitamin or a Covid variant? Does anybody really know and frankly at this point care. I do hope that Art isn’t getting a delayed “ouch” after his extraction Kathie.

Stretching Warm Up GIF by Disneyland Paris

Just for the record that is a picture of “Goofy”.
Anyone entering Canada must show proof of vaccination AND a negative test taken within 24 hours of getting to the border. I guess the people from Illinois ahead of us weren’t prepared because the same agent that was nice to us tagged their vehicle and sent them to secondary!
I’m sure the rest of us are glad to hear that things went well Bill. How long do you have to avoid heavy lifting? Bump it up a little in case Rita or Kevin are reading along.
I love the name for your frog Dave. I have since you first started to tell us about him. And, if my ever fading memory serves me you did post a picture of him at some point. Which means we expect a pic of the newly refurbished and improved model!

right now I'm having trouble finding anyone who wants corned beef and cabbage on Thursday.
Once again Momma Bunny, I like corned beef and cabbage. Just sayin’. We’re having our friends who looked after the house over tomorrow afternoon. We have a couple of thank you gifts for them. I will be pulling the Cranberry and White Muscadine out of the fridge for a big ol’ pitcher of Howard’s soon to be as famous as his Cuban Sandwich “Crazy Good” wine.
At least the contractor kept in touch and let you know why he wasn’t on site as promised Karen. I think that’s a good sign. Rather than just not showing at all. Will there be much dust during the reno? I remember the kitchen and bathroom reno in Ayr. Rudy hung plastic sheets everywhere and everything still had a fine coating of dust.

Mongolian Ground Beef for dinner
I’m pretty sure you know what I’m going to say here Nancy. ;) Congratulations on dropping a dress size! I love putting on a shirt or pants and being told to put them in the bin because they are too big!
Reality hit today. We went to COSTCO and the grocery to stock up the fridge, freezer and pantry. I know we did a really good job of emptying them all before we headed south but seriously, $343.78! Half and half was $1.95 a quart before we left. $2.49 today.
Gas was $4.04 US a gallon at Kroger’s yesterday. Here, converting litres to the US gallon and funds to US it works out to $5.03. We will be doing our best to combine trips in the future. Like my trip to the lab tomorrow for blood work for the cardiologist and getting the oil changed. Oil at the oil change place. The lab doesn’t do oil changes.
Dave, maybe you and I should start a music station. I think we might have a couple of listeners.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Keep the brave people of The Ukraine and those Russian people who are speaking out against Putin in your thoughts and prayers.

My losing the weight has been because of only using EVOO or Grapeseed Oil, eating fish a lot, turkey dogs, turkey burgers, shrimp burgers and lots of veggies, I really can't exercise too much because of my COPD so it is just the walking in the house or at the stores. All since my gallbladder removal last May.

I and the rest of the world are thankful and impressed with the 1st responders in Ukraine. Can you imagine being a firefighter there?

Hot Diggety Dog! It sure looks like congress and Biden are going to do away with this changing times twice a year. ABOUT TIME. But with the usual bureaucratic slow movement, it won't take effect until November of next year.

Happy to hear that both Bill's and Art's procedures went smoothly.

KC; Any electronic gizmo that lasts 7 years is a rarity. Enjoy your new mouse. I sure hope your sister's contractor starts smoothing things out and does good work. I'd hate for him to keep coming up with excuses every time he's SUPPOSED to be at the job site.

BB; With you and Bert soon going to be empty-nesters again, you'll once again be able to plan things and shopping trips without consulting a bunch of other people.

Along with the weight loss, I'd guess that your cholesterol numbers and blood pressure has also dropped, Nancy.

Speaking of gas prices and such K2, what's the word on replacing your car? Maybe time to take a shot with an electric car.

Yikes! $343 for you to refill your fridge and cupboards. Please tell me that both you and Lu-Ann had grocery carts. Don't be telling me that for what you spent you didn't fill one.

Our turn today to head to the grocery store. This should be a nice warm & sunny morning. (In the mid 50's.)

Good morning. Since the silly time change I’ve noticed it sure is dark in the mornings. Being a “morning guy” I prefer a lighter start to the morning and an earlier evening.
We had one cart in COSTCO, one in the grocery store and an on line order for our coffee Dave. That did include the items we picked up at Kroger’s before we crossed the border. Like Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. Nope, can’t get ‘em in Canada.
The Ukraine’s President Zelensky addressed our parliament yesterday. I know he was an entertainer and knows how to work a crowd but that aside, he spoke calmly, passionately and won even more respect and a pledge of more aide from Canada. Today I believe he addresses The US Congress.
I better get a move on. No food until after the blood work today which leaves me wondering why we shopped yesterday.
You all be good. Stay safe. I’ll see you later on.

Good morning. Quick post time around here. I need to get Bert up and moving so he can go to Publix to pick up a few things I need for today and tomorrow. Home Health will be here at 1:00 and friends are stopping by for a drink at 2:00. He's the retired docotor, so I intend to pick his brain a bit.

Glad to hear that Bill and Art came through their procedures with no problems.

Lee - So how was that sleep last night in your own bed? Felt good, I bet! Funny you should mention the Hawaiian King Rolls. They were part of our dinner last night when I made what a lot of places call "funeral sandwiches". I made 24 ham & cheese sandwiches with a mayo/mustard combo where I split them horizontally. Covered them with foil and baked for 15 minutes. Took foil off and baked for another 5 minutes. OMG!!! You would think I had made the most fantastic dinner the way the raved about these sandwiches and devoured them. Really too funny, considering what it was!
That was some shopping trip you guys had to restock the cupboards. Wow!

Dave - I doubt your shopping trip was anything like Lee & Lu-Ann's, right? Bert has been hitting Sam's & BJ's for a lot of what we've been needing recently. Publix just seems to be getting too expensive on a lot of their stuff or they don't have things I need.

We had us some rough weather last night and were under a tornado watch for hours. We didn't even know it until I went to bed and put on the news. Gary said the weather got real wicked during the night with wind and heavy rain. I wouldn't know as I slept through it all!

Better run for now and see if there's anything I can do to get ready for our visitors. Have a super day, gang!

Can't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds at least until my next appointment with the doctor next week and no driving for a week.
I, too, like Corned beef and cabbage, Pat, and we live closer to you than Lee does. Does "Uber eats" deliver to Vero Beach from Kissimmee? The corned beef that Phil cooked for last Sunday's dinner was excellent and I was surprised to learn that he purchased it at Walmart. Back home I'd never think to go to Walmart for our groceries, but the closest store here in VB has a much larger grocery section than the ones closest to us at home.
Some pain at the point of the incision but tolerable. I had hoped that after the surgery and with the pain medication I might be getting longer periods of uninterrupted sleep but that wasn't the case.
Not sure how I feel about having DST year round. I think I am more of a morning person so having it stay dark later in the morning is a bit of a negative, especially during the winter months. Guess, if the House of Representatives and the President agree with the Senate's bill, we will find out, though not until 2023.
Glad your reentry into Canada went smoothly Lee. I am sure that it felt good to sleep in your old bed last night. The bed here is comfortable but I am looking forward to the one we have at home, though not looking forward to the weather we will find when we get there.

Good afternoon. Had to get some new pots for the climbing roses and found 3 at Family Dollar for $10 each, just have to drill drainage holes. Then went to Lowe's and bought more potting soil and a bunch of cactuses and found 3 very nice trellises for roses, then it was across the street to Home Depot for a couple of longer pots for the cactus.

Unfortunately the cholesterol and blood pressure have not gotten a lot better, can't get my HDL up but the over all the numbers are not bad and the blood pressure has never been too high. When I got the results from Monday's bloodwork they did not report A1C, which is very important but with the problem of my fingers and knuckles I have a feeling that I will need more bloodwork anyway.

Since yesterday with Bruce being told he can eat Iceberg Lettuce I will make a salad for dinner tonight.

All have a great day.

Good Afternoon Wrabbit family.

45F Sunny, but chilly.
Dropped Artie off at the Eye Doctors for his regular EYE Exam. (1 mile from home!)

Went through McDonald's drive thru next door and got a Sausage McMuffin. Haven't had one in a long time. It was good.
Drove the 1 mile home and did paperwork for about 1 hour until Art called for pick-up.

Dave & Lee: Pres Zelensky is doing a fantastic job for what he was handed when elected. I just wish the countries that are closer to Ukraine would ship them some more Drones and Missiles. Those Russians are ruthless and need to be knocked down. It just is unbelievable that one leader can get away with doing all this harm to human beings in the 21 century.

We got good news that the surgery Art will have done in April on the one molar by the specialist is covered as a MEDICAL procedure. Saves of money and saves using up Art's yearly dental allowance.

Bill: Nice to know you're doing well after your surgery. And even going out to eat! What a guy. Keep up the good work.

I'm making us our CORNED BEEF today since Art will have his temporary bridge work done on St Patty's Day and I really don't think he should be eating something like MEAT right away. Last time the glue didn't stick for more than a day and he had to go back for more. These trips cross town are hard on my GAS TANK!
The house smells very much like a Irish Pub. I even have Potatoes & Cabbage to add later.
Oh and Art loves carrots, so I add that too.

Karen: How's the bathroom project coming along? Any crazy set-backs? Hope not.

Out of here for now. I'm going to go and make myself an Irish Coffee. Yup right in the middle of the day! Ha Ha.

Lee: Good for you to remember to buy some Hawaiian Rolls before you crossed the border. Now I know what to bring you for a House Warming Gift when we can finally meet up!

Went out to eat on Sunday, which was before my surgery on Tuesday, K2. Speed reading again?
Did go out today to pick up some prescriptions at Walgreen's pharmacy. We got a robocall alert warning of the possibility of severe thunderstorm activity later today, so wanted to get those meds before the storms hit. Actually right now it is quite warm (mid-80s) and only a few white clouds in the blue sky, so nothing that would indicate that the forecast is accurate.
March Madness is upon us and I have filled out a bracket that one of our friends has established. I have little, or no, interest in or knowledge about college basketball, so my picks are strictly without any logical basis. Perhaps that will work to my advantage but time will tell.

Negc: Oops on my speed reading! Ha ha. Hope the storm missed your area. You need some nicer weather these last few weeks of your stay. It’s been a crazy Winter this year for the Snowbirds.

We love March Madness College basketball. MSU will most likely not move on, but it’s always fun to watch. College basketball puts it’s ALL into every game.

It’s 64F and sunny here right now. I finally have the patio door open. Love my new shutter covered doorwall!(slider) see in background in the pic w/ flowers

Corned Beef is almost done. Picture doesn’t show the Red Potatoes.
Art & I just had a delicious Irish coffee. Wow. I’m so mellowed out! ( That was for Tony) Ha ha.

Good afternoon...almost good evening

Bill, glad to hear you are recovering nicely from the surgery...I'm sure Rita was especially grateful your arrival time got pushed back a bit!

Kathie, that was really good news about insurance covering Art's tooth surgery...don't get very much of that from the insurance companies...usually it's No...we don't cover that...

Lee, maybe next year don't do quite so good of a job cleaning out the pantry & freezer before you leave town...a grocery bill like that to often might cause a cardiac problem...

Pat, I found out this morning we were under a tornado warning here last night...my "Alert Marion" system never notified me about anything...and like you...I slept thru the whole thing. It couldn't have been to windy here because I have wind chimes in the back patio & they get pretty loud when it's real windy.

Dave, not sure I'm all that thrilled with year round DST....with everything else going on in the country I think our congress could have looked a little harder for something that would have really helped people...

Nancy, congrats on the weight loss...seems for me the older I get the more determined the extra pounds are to hang around..

Bathroom project is progressing...all the fixtures have been removed, half the ceiling is down due to the leak..so now he just has to wait for good weather to fix the roof....the inside work is on hold until that happens..."hopefully" tomorrow...it seems strange to open the door & see a bare room with half the ceiling & walls gone...

As St.Paddy’s Day approaches what a gabby bunch o’bunnies we have. Always good when that happens.
It seems that our government will drop the “negative Covid test” on April 1. We’ll just leave the timing of that alone.
Doug and Brenda really enjoyed the freshly made Crazy Good. We’ve been instructed to bring more bottles home next year. It was a nice visit.
I wanted to pop by to check on everyone and wish you all a very good evening from The Burg.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

A day when EVERYONE is Irish. Just ask O'bama.

Is it too early for some Irish coffee?

Good grab on those Hawaiian sweet rolls, before you crossed the border, Lee. I don't know anybody who doesn't love those things. I first stumbled onto those at a Honey Baked Ham store, some years ago, before you could buy them at the grocery store.

"Funeral Sandwiches". I've never heard that term before, BB. And you made 24 of them. It's funny how small cookies and small sandwiches just get gobbled up.

Bill; Happy to hear that you've only had minor pain following your surgery.

You'll sure be up to speed come spring with all your plants and posies, Nancy.

Lucky you K2 on having the work on that molar of Art's covered as a medical procedure. People's tastes differ, such as Art liking cooked carrots. I like raw carrots but not cooked ones. Nice posies. The only thing we got at the grocery store yesterday that wasn't on the grocery list was a bouquet of white and green Saint Patrick's Day flowers.

"..it seems strange to open the door & see a bare room with half the ceiling & walls gone." Is that all a part of your flow-thru ventilation plan, KC?
1f600.png
How modern.

It's Kathi's and my turn for a physical check-up with our family doctor this morning. We booked the appointments at the same time. (One stop shopping.)
