Hey, FYI, Saturday is Simchat Torah - YET ANOTHER HOLIDAY FOR CHEEKY & PHIZER!! LMAO!! Simchat Torah is a Jewish holy day celebrated on the 22nd or 23rd of Tishri to celebrate the completion of the annual cycle of readings of the Torah (Synonyms: Shimchath Torah, Simhath Torah, Simhat Torah, Simchas Torah, Rejoicing over the Law, Rejoicing of the Law, Rejoicing in the Law). And that is your Jewish trivia for today class!!

Speaking of Cheeky & Phizer...where the heck are they lately?! Hmm! No news is good news I suppose.

Well I'm leavin' work, see ya' later...

Yes...I was wondering today where the GA Gang has been. I might have to pop over to the other place and see if Michelle has been over there.

YC....you need a hobby :lol

Well all, have a good evening and we will chat tomorrow......:wave

GOOD MORNING MARINER CRUISERS!! If you are living in the GREAT State of F-L-A you know that today is especially great because the weather today is AWESOME!! It is cool and breezy...perfect! I wish it could be this kind of weather year-round! No humidity, no rain, no heat, just awesome!!

I hope everyone has a fantastic hump day!!

:grin Yogini

P.S. bOB...knew WHAT? About 420? Or that I need a hobby? (LMAO CG! Like we didn't know THAT already!!)

Good morning everyone. Isnt it a great day to be alive? aaaaahhhhh feel the breeze.

I chatted briefly with Cheeky last night. She is alive and breathing and a little busy. Just thought you guys would want to know.

Ok, ok, ok...........I got an email from ole' boss man George given' me a hard time cause' I ain't been around lately. Sorry guys!!! Been very busy since we returned from the cruise. I started many projects in the yard (as many of you know how that goes!) since we neglected it for most of the summer while we were off playing at the lake and camping. I sure hope everyone is doing good. Hi to EVERYBODY!!!! Miss ya'll! Still no confirmation on what we will be doing for our next cruise. Alaska is still not out of the picture. Weather here in Atlanta is wonderful.....what I would consider perfect. Have been trying to keep up a 3 mile a day walk in the mornings. So far so good. Again, sorry for not checking in lately but will try to do better. Looks like ya'll have found a new home in a great location, LOL !!!!! Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone..........chat later. Michelle (GA).

Hey ya'll.....one more thang. I think this thread will go over 3000 posts....whadda ya'll think?

Hi Michelle :wave I think 3K+ for sure!!

Hope everyone had a great day...I'm leavin' work soon! ;)

Until later...Yogini :grin

Ok, I haven't caught up yet since my last post ... So I have LOTS of reading to do!

I see you've found the wonderful world of emoticons ... and I'm an emoticon-less loser at this point.

And I must say ... I got "the word" from George yesterday... LOL ... He is certainly the SKIPPER! G-d forbid one of us should be jumping ship, he'll pull ya back by the scruff of the neck. Good job on that, George. I needed a kick in the tuches.

OK! SO ......... Here's the news, in short:

~ Looking for a job, that's why I'm not on so much.

~ Jewish holidays happened, that's why we're not on so much.

~ Looking into Immigration Canada, Immigration Australia and things are up in the air, so to speak... But the more it goes on, the more it looks like an almost definite that I'll be moving to Australia sometime next year, probably by July (when my lease is up). Since we're not exactly sure, we haven't booked with you guys yet.

~ BUT!!! (And this is the biggy) This doesn't mean we won't cruise the Caribbean again! As a matter of fact, we're planning TO GET MARRIED at the synagogue in StThomas (the one that was in our Webshots community). Nothing officially official yet, as I don't have a ring... but coming soon to a theatre near you!

~ And last bit of news (I can't remember if I told you or not), Phizer will be back to see me on December 21st! First time he sees snow ... He thinks it's romantic! Yeah right! He can't wait to shovel my driveway ~ go RIGHT ahead! He's got visions of sugarplums dancing in his head... He thinks we're gonna build SNOWMEN and have SNOWBALL FIGHTS! I told him, "Honey, you can do that and I'll watch you from the window." I know I'm talking to a bunch of Southerners, but you can't be more clueless than him about Canadian winters! LOL

We were picking out some winter coats on the net... A great store in Montreal that does custom made ones, and I said: "The one I like goes to -25, but there's another one I like that's -30." He says, "What's 30?" I said, "No, MINUS THIRTY!" It doesn't even come into his realm of thinking that our temperature could be THAT much UNDER zero! The coldest it gets in Melbourne is about 0* C. LOL Well, he can't say I didn't warn him! He's picturing renting a chalet for New Years, with a fireplace and the whole kit. I'm picturing the look on his face when he feels -40 outside (which is the same in F or C, THAT is how cold it is!).

Ok, doing my homework now and catching up ... Could take the rest of the day!

xoxo Cheeky
PS: Thanks for the kick in the tuches, George. I needed that.

OMG OMG - How do you spell kvelting, because I think I' m doing it!! Cheeky & Phizer getting married in St. Thomas - OMG!! Okay, breathe, breathe...

Congrats on everything Cheeky!!! Moving to Australia? Holy cow!! You have so much going on...no wonder you've been busy! Well...I'm gushing...congratulations to both of you!! Woooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!! A BIG FAT JEWISH AUSTRALIAN FRENCH-CANADIAN BIG CAT WEDDING - LMAO!!

About the snow thing...wow! I too have never seen snow, but I think I have a better expectation of what you're dealing with up there than Phizer! -40 ... I don't know what to say about THAT! At least you'll have each other to keep warm...what am I talking about, body heat can't quite do it in -40...good luck finding warm jackets for your winter!! lol!

I'm glad you took a minute (or were forced by George - lol) to stop in...you crack me up!!

Until later :grin Yogini

Big CONGRATS!!! to Cheeky and Pfizer!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure wish ya'll the very best. Michelle.

I do hereby pronouce Yogini Cruiser an HONOURARY JEW!

When I went back and read, I couldn't believe you were pulling up Simchat Torah... You're quite up to date on our holidays, aren't ya? Worse thing is ... SOME JEWS don't know when it is! LOL

Not to mention, the continuous and proper use of Hebrew and Yiddish is quite commendable!

Now you can wish me a 'Mazal Tov' (Good Luck / Congratulations)...

Speaking of .....
thanks for all of your best wishes
xoxo Cheeky

Cheeky and Phizer!!! Congradulations!!!!!!!!!! How romantic, getting married in St. Thomas, AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't it be great if all of us could be there??????? I'll be the flower girl......LOL

Yeah, ole boss man George got on me too.....:-) luv ya George. Sorry have not posted, as Michelle has told ya, we've been walking every morning, and just keeping busy, and staring at this calendar is NOT making the day's go by any faster for our cruise.....ughhhhhh

Hi to everybody, I'll post again soon.

Kay
PS, Rae is fine, just took us both awhile to get over our colds.

MAZAL TOV!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) I hereby accept my "honourary jew" title! (I get awards around you people like crazy!! I love that!!) Cheeky...do you think you could send something legal and certified looking to that affect so that I can give it to my boss!! I'M GONNA HAVE TONS OF HOLIDAYS to look forward to now!! Woo hoo!!! Yaaaaaaaa God!

Here's a poem for the happy couple (I'll be sure to start doing some research on my Hebrew terms/congratulations/blessings for newly engaged couples! lol)

Love & Marriage

Love is holding hands in the street.
Marriage is holding arguments in the street

Love is dinner for 2 in your favorite restaurant.
Marriage is Chinese take-out.

Love is cuddling on a sofa.
Marriage is deciding on a sofa.

Love is talking about having children.
Marriage is talking about getting away from children.

Love is losing your appetite.
Marriage is losing your figure.

Love is a flickering flame.
Marriage is a flickering television.

Love is 1 drink and 2 straws.
Marriage is "Don't you think you've had enough?!"

So no one has posted since my last post...sheesh...okay Big Cats, sit back, I've done my homework...LMAO...here we go.

As you know from Cheeky's posting above, I'm now an honourary Jew. (Ger/Gioret - "One who is invited to join the Hebrew tribe."  The masculine and feminine forms of the Hebrew term for convert.) Forthwith, I will be carrying out the duties of said itle and will begin this evening with first, an "I told you so moment".

I believe if you scroll back, I indicated that Cheeky's long awaited information might contain the words such as: Kalah - Bride; Chatan - Groom; and even a Ketubah - Marriage contract. She denied same but now it appears we know better! ah ha!

So Big Cats: now it's time to learn some vocabulary you must learn over the next year, should you be (spontaneously, and without the need for begging) invited to a wedding/reception and/or honeymoon (yah right!) cruise, you will fit right in with the tribe!

Sheva Berachot - Seven traditional blessings recited after the exchange of rings.

I wonder if Cheeky & Phizer did this at the Synagogue in St. Thomas when he gave her the tanzanite???

Aufruf - Calling up of the bridegroom for Torah blessings on the Shabbat preceding the marriage.

This will not be something the Cats attend, however it would be a good conversation starter upon seeing Phizer at the reception.

Chuppah - Canopy.  Can be a tallit, or other material, or floral arrangement.

This particular canopy we have come to see in several televised Jewish wedding ceremonies. (What...don't you have cable?)

Kiddush - Blessing recited over wine.

This I thought would come in handy for the wine drinkers of our group. Make sure you hear this word before drinking...I think if you don't they start throwing glasses at you and stomping you into the ground...wait, oh, wait...that's something else altogether.

Purim Schpiel - Humorous play put on at Purim.

Okay, I have a feeling the Cats won't be there for this either, but I gotta see this one! (I figure it's a bit more of a religious experience compared to Jim's "Baby Love"/Glory Karaoke experience.)

Selichot - Penitential prayers.

These are what I'll be saying after this post.

Sufganiyot - Jelly doughnuts served in Israel on Chanukah.

Okay, this would have nothing to do with their wedding, but I found it interesting. mmmmmmm....jelly donuts. hee hee.

Treife - Food that is not ritually fit.  The opposite of Kosher.

You will find no Treife at their reception. So I suggest you stop to eat after the ceremony. (JK!!)

Last but not least, we should all enroll in a Ulpan - Intensive Hebrew language program.

Thank you...and goodnite!

:grin Yogini

OK................

So where do you want them....
