Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Doctors, doctors and more doctors! That seems to be what our lives revolve around these days. Chalk up one for Bert. He's on his way to the urologist. Hopefully, they will be alble to give him something for relief. Keep your fingers crossed.

Dave - Good luck with your vascular doctor visit. I hope it goes well.
Bert did great on his walk yesterday. Biggest problem was that the therapist had to keep telling him to slow down! He goes to the orthopedic office on Thursday and is hoping to get permission to drive again. He's like a kid who's been grounded. He's so antsy to get behind the wheel again and go somewhere. I am too, as I feel like I am under house arrest also. Aside from going out on the lanai once in a while, I haven't been anywhere in over a month!! Talk about getting cabin fever!!!

Aside from Bert's doctor visit, there's nothing else going on around here today. Oh well ...

May as well make a cup of coffee and go read the newspaper to see what our resident
a--hole has done in the past 24 hours to further screw up our state.

Good morning. First thing I will be doing is taking a package to the Post Office to send some shoes back, they just didn't fit. Then once home will do a load of laundry. Don't have any other plans for the day.

All have a great day.

Sad Rainy Day GIF by Apply
Gloomy up here right now. Nice cool breeze and off and on light showers!

BB: Sure hope Bert gets some good results from today's Dr's visit. I bet there will be more X-Rays and Scans of his bladder, etc, etc. All the things that they could have done while he was in the hospital. Oh how our medical system works to the advantage of the companies. Drag those Executives who make up the rules around town from office to office for tests and maybe things wouldn't be so difficult for everyone.

Today was WASH THE THROW RUGS day. I have drier back up because they take so long to dry. If it was nice outside the rugs would all be on the deck railing. Not happening today.

I made a recipe of Noodle Dough. It's "resting" right now. I'm going to try and make some Chicken/Veggie Soup for this chilly/gloomy day. I bought some chicken at Costco in a Pkg that is shredded from their Roasted Chickens. I have a friend that makes a spicy chicken dip from it and she raves about it. I just wanted to make THICK NOODLES and hopefully the chicken will help make it yummy.

LEE: You alright or just hating our current weather and lying low??
Negc: Get ready, this weather might just make it over your way next.

The rest of you folks take care.

Good afternoon.
Yesterday? I am sure it came and went. Where I don't
remember. But I'm sure I was part of it.
Today...Walk Ava before 6:00, Coffee, our 7 minute Chi gong (like tai chi) thing. It's good for people with Parkinson's. Breakfast, Ava to The Navy Yard for her second walk, up to the small grocery store. Then to the paint store. Trim the front, back and decorative ball tree. Cut the front. Lunch. Chat with our friends in Edmonton, get gas for The Subie, cut the back. Check on the hutch. And it's not quite 2:30.
I pull my uke out about once a week to try to stay familiar with the instrument Dave. Our lessons ended just before we went to FL. We may take some more in the fall.
So many trucks moving goods across the borders Kathie. We do prefer the tunnel. No trucks and cheaper than the bridges. Your soup sounds great! :canada:
That can be one of the drawbacks with clothes and shoes online Nancy. You don't get to try 'em before your buy 'em!
I do hope that Bert gets taken care of at the urologist's Pat. I know what you mean about cabin fever. I was a prisoner in my own home after the heart thing. If we lived closer I'd come and take you out for a ride. Is True Blue closed for the season now?
I likely wouldn't have used the breakfast place gift cards either Bill. In my case, they wouldn't be open that early in the morning!
Hi Karen. How's tricks in your world.
I see that 89 year old Frankie Valli married a 60 year old former CBS executive. All I can say is if she's 60, she's had work done. But looking at Frankie, he may have had work done too!
Wow, when you get so much done so early wine o'clock rolls around pretty quick.
Have a great rest of the day my friends.

Don't expect any thanks for sending along your weather, K2. ;-) Was awakened in the middle of the night by a loud clap of thunder followed by steady rain and when I finally got up this morning I was greeted by a dismally gray day which hasn't improved considerably in the passing hours. Forecast is for much of the same weather for at least the rest of the week.
Despite some 80 degree weather in the forecast, it seems like we are experiencing more of a late Spring than an early Summer. I had good intentions to begin using my gift cards for breakfast this morning, but one look outside convinced me to stay home at least for today.

This week I began my two days a week PT sessions - the first- yesterday and the second tomorrow afternoon. After yesterday's session I am feeling a bit stiff and sore but, hopefully, that is a sign that we are making progress. As they say, "no pain, no gain".
I can imagine Bert's and your frustration with him not being able to drive at present, but from your description of his
determination to do whatever necessary PT wise, I suspect it won't be too long before he is cleared to drive again.
As I type, I e that the sun has actually broken through and there are actually patches of blue sky among the dark clouds.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne have posted some pictures of the first two days of their cruise and they are making me think more positively about adding a cruise to Greece to our bucket list.

Good evening. Well I was in and out at the Post Office. Then a quick trip to Winn Dixie on the way home. Have done the laundry but have not folded so tomorrow will put a wet washcloth in to run the dryer for a bit.

We got to 102 for about an hour today and it took the rest of the afternoon to cool down.

Have you seen that Celebrity is now making Coco Cay a stop on some cruises. Some people are pretty mad about it because they had booked Med cruise for next summer on the Beyond and now those cruises are canceled because the Beyond won't be going to the Med next year rather staying in the Caribbean. I am sue they are doing it because Coco Cay will be cheaper for them to stop at. And they are canceling stops at Key West.

This weekend NASCAR is racing int he streets of Chicago and one of the drivers was going to be a past champion who has retired from full time racing and is not an owner of a team. Well it was announced today that he will not be racing because his Mother-In-Law shot and killed his Father-In-Law and a grandson and then killed herself. That is so sad. I am sure his wife is completely torn up. He really has done to only thing he can do with not racing.

All have a good night.

We recorded the WORST AIR POLUTION in the USA from FIRE SMOKE coming from Canada here in Michigan and other areas today.
You could SMELL the stench of the smoke and it was hazy all day. Suppose to be the same on Wednesday.
My Air
Purifier is registering at a Hazard 65 right now. It was even lower earlier in the day.
Until I went out on the deck and SMELLED and SAW the HAZE I thought the machine was broken.

We are at VERY UNHEALTHY right now!
Lee: Windsor wasn't any better, so I'm sure your area is about the same. YUK.

Sleepy Good Night GIF
Good night Wrabbits.

Kathi asked me a question that I didn't have an answer for, or ever have thought about. "Does bottled water ever go bad?"

So off to the computer I went to find the answer. It seems that water itself never goes bad. But what it's put in can screw it up. Like giving it a bad taste. Only one State requires an expiration date printed on the container, although it's recommended. With age, plastic can leach out of plastic bottles. (Generally over 2 years.) It's not against the law to sell outdated plastic bottles of water.

So, that's what I found out. The emergency stash of bottled water in our basement does have an expiration date on it, but that was 4 years ago. So Kathi poured it out, and today at the grocery store we're replacing the emergency stash.

Oh no you don't Lee. You've got some explaining to do about this "7 minute Chi gong" thing. What's that entail?

Hope your noodle dough is well rested by now, K2.
1f601.png
That thick noodle chicken vegetable soup sounds yummy. As long as it's thick enough to be eaten with a fork.

BB; I hadn't thought about with Bert grounded, it automatically makes you grounded. As for my visit to the vascular doctor.......Any year the circulation in my lower legs stays the same, it's a good year. Lousy as that circulation is. Which is why I try to use the treadmill and stationary bike to at least maintain.

It seems Bill that if we want really warm weather we need to go back a month. And it's forecast that we'll soon be getting another round of smoke from those wildfires up north. (As it is today.)

A late good morning. Got up late this morning but that is okay as I don't really have anything to do today.

They have issued a warning that today it may end up feeling like 108 with actual temps in the high 90's. I see that Detroit and Chicago are getting a lot of the smoke from Canada, but have not read anything about warning people to stay indoors. I know I would if I lived in either city.

All have a great day.

Good Afternoon GIF by BDDRC
The AIR outside is getting BETTER. Whew! Sunny today and 70F right now. The fog is gone. The smell lingers a tad, but NOTHING LIKE YESTERDAY!

Art is off to get a yearly physical. Since the man does not take any prescribed meds it will be interesting to see how his check-up goes today. The Medical Profession and Drug Mfgr's can't make money on someone like Art! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Computer was down for awhile this morning. Called good-ole Comcast and they did a RESTART/REFRESH and whatever else they do and it is now working. So much for having a New Modum/Router from them!

DAVE: Nice to know you have FRESH Bottled Water replaced. The Noodles turned out really good. And the SOUP was fantastic. That Rotisserie chicken in a vacuumed package from Costco was a added bonus to the hearty soup. Tasted like I spent hours simmering it and I didn't.

You all have a great day. Later gang.
Happy You Can Do It GIF by Hello All

Good Day, EH?
Like
Kathie, it's still hazy here from the smoke but should improve tomorrow in this area. At 8:30 this morning the scale was, well, off the scale. We were at 10+ on a scale of 10 and still are. They were warning people with cardio and breathing issues two stay in or limit being outdoors.
Hopefully Art gets an "Atta Boy" button for being so healthy after he sees the doctor. That soup sounds extra good today!
I may just watch the Chicago NASCAR race Nancy. Or I could just watch regular rush hour traffic navigate the streets as they "toddle" about town. Why yes, there is a song for that.

Good on ya Dave for keeping your levels steady. That time on the bike and treadmill do payoff! Chi Gong (Qigong as it can be spelled) is coordinated breathing and movement at a slow controlled speed. That often makes it harder than just ripping through the movements. Lu-Ann heard that it was good for PD and I committed to doing it with her each morning. Can't say I love it but I don't really hate it either. Interesting stuff about the bottled water. This hutch isn't just a fun place to be. It's interesting and educational as well.
It sounds like you are committed to your physio Bill. Good for you! You are right about the no pain thing. Keep up the good work!
How is our Bert doing today Pat? Counting days until he's allowed to return to his position of chauffeur? I bet he'll ask for a raise now that he knows how valuable his service is!

will try to catch up with you all this afternoon!
Did you have any particular afternoon in mind Karen? Yep, you can owe me a good old fashioned "Gibbs Head Slap" for that comment. Hope all is well.
Lu-Ann was discharged from the heart guy after this morning's visit. He's happy with her levels for now. I hope that I get as good a report in September.
Speaking of the treadmill and bike, I best get my butt down to the rec room and get my exercises done.
You all stay safe and sound please.

Good afternoon, everyone! No excuse for being late to the party today. Just got hung up on looking at recipes for something different to make. So far, haven't found anything worth making.

Bert had a good appointment with the urologist yesterday. He got some meds to help him not have to pee so much. He goes back again in late July for a procedure that will make you guys cringe. Doctor puts a needle into the scrotum and drains it out! So did you cringe? I suggested doing that last week and both the nurse & Bert were horrified at such a suggestion. Well, looks like once again I called the correct procedure for him!!
Now he's looking forward to tomorrow's appointment with the ortho guy. He's mainly interested in if he is able to drive again. I already told him that if he is, I will be treating him to dinner at DiCarlo's on Friday night!

Lee - I almost forgot to answer your question from the other day. True Blue Winery closed in the middle of May for the season and won't reopen until mid to late October, No Crazy Good until then. Nice that you're doing those exercises with Lu-Ann. Good for you!

Dave - Yes, I am grounded too and I don't think I'm going to get out even on the lanai today. It's pouring outside right now. Windy as all get out too. Typical summer t-storm in this area. Hopefully, it will drop the temperature a few degrees, as the feels like temp was over 100!! They just upgraded this to severe thunder storm warning for our area.

Kathie - Glad to hear the air is better today by you. I hope it stays that way. We don't need or have air purifiers on any of our units. We could use something for the humidity though, as it's so sticky outside.

Nancy - I think they should hold a NASCAR race on I-95. The cars could try to keep up with the regular traffic on there with all that excess speeding that goes on heading towards Miami. Now that would be a rice I would watch.

Karen - Where'd you go to hide again?

Bill - Were you able to go out for breakfast today?

Seeing as how I'm REALLY stuck in the house today, think I'll make a small pasta salad to go with out coconut shrimp dinner tonight. I was thinking about making a cake, but said the heck with it as that would mean Bert & I would have to eat it by ourselves - Oh darn!!!! But before I do anything else, there's a sink full of dishes that are calling me.

Have a great rest of the day, gang!

Mmmmm. I'll be right there. For shrimp and cake. Always willing to help. And organize a group cringe for the guys.

OUCH on that drainage procedure. Hope the pills help Bert with the bathroom trips!

Art did excellent at the doctors. He was relieved that he's good to go for another year! Still no necessary meds. I think I take enough for the both of us.

We went to a new Italian Bristro for a late lunch/early dinner. They had excellent coffee and meals that are $10 bucks and the Thurs special Art had was Chicken Cacciatore with a good size bowl of Spaghetti on the side for $14 bucks. I had a Pizza. Rectangle and thin. Just perfect.
At least I don't have to cook a full meal tonight. Left-over soup if anybody is hungry.

Off to get a coffee. I don't need another one, but will still make a nice fresh cup! :clap002:

I did make it to the breakfast place this morning and it is good that I did. If I put it off until next week I would have found it closed for their annual week's vacation.
Had my second round of PT this week and my physical therapist
seemed pleased with my progress. Still a lot more to do but its nice to know that things are progressing well.
Nice of you to offer to treat Bert to a meal at DiCarlos, BB. Not that such a generous offer doesn't have a benefit to you as well. I'm sure Bert will appreciate the sacrifice you are making for him.
I picked up three or four prescriptions at the pharmacy today and was pleasantly surprised that one of them only cost me $4.21. Of course the rest of them added up to many, many times that amount.

Good evening. Stayed in just about all day, the only time I went outside was when I went for the mail. We had 3 hours of 100. Late this afternoon we had a bunch of thunder and then 5 minutes of rain.

My right hand all the fingers decided to swell up today. So I did put ice on for awhile and that did help some. Of course now the wrist on the right is hurting so I will wear two braces tonight to bed. And one finger is very swollen and not wanting to bend and it was not that long ago that I had an injection in it. Oh well.

All have a good night.

Good Thursday morning Wabbits!

So good to hear that Art passed his yearly physical with flying colors, K2. So your job in the family, of taking meds, is secure. Also pleased that your air started clearing up yesterday. Being a bit south of you, yesterday was the worst day of smoke for us. Just plain nasty. Hazardous category for everyone, and recommending that people stay inside. But should be clearing up a bit by the weekend. One of the meteorologists said that the smoke was so bad because most of the wildfires was pine trees burning, with all their sap. Some residents commented that it often smelled like burning plastic.

We went early to the grocery store yesterday. (BOY, you sure could smell the smoke when we came out.)

At the grocery store I DID get that broccoli-salad that caught my eye last week. I was surprised that it tasted really good. Why surprised? Because when I first took of the lid off the container I thought to myself, "Boy does that stuff stink!"

And I blame you BB for buying something else there. Hot Italian sausage. It's funny how the thought of putting a needle in a guy's "sack" makes fellas cringe. It doesn't actually hurt any more there than anywhere else.

Thanks for your explanation of "Chi Gong", Lee. I think I'm getting an idea of what it is. I ended looking up a few videos of it. Here's one of them.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCicH-iz1oU
At least I learned that you weren't banging on a big gong, like on "The Gong Show".
1f601.png

It doesn't actually hurt any more there than anywhere else.
Speaking from experience are we? The Qi Gong routines Lu-Ann has are only 7 minutes and it is a series of 31 so you can do one daily.
The air quality here is 6 now so Ava and I did our 2K walk this morning. She was not happy that she only got one short walk yesterday. I suspect we’ll get to The River in a bit too.
How’s all the wrists and fingers this morning Nancy?
I find most PT encourage their patients Bill. That’s what keeps you motivated and wanting to complete the routines. That, and encouragement from family and friends.
Good to hear Art did so well at The Doc’s Kathie. You little Italian Bistro sounds good and reasonably priced too! How’s your air today?

Fingers crossed that you and Bert get to head off to DiCarlo’s today or tomorrow Pat. Any word on them moving? I recall you had mentioned they were looking into that. The thing now will be to keep Bert from overdoing things too quickly.
We miss you Karen. Take your shoes off, set a spell and say “hi”.
Lisa’s house here closes tomorrow so she and Razzie are coming down and staying with us for a couple of days. Her place in Ayr closes on July 12 but she wanted a little time to get new countertops and painters in. Before you wonder, the scope of work was too much for The OGC’s in the timeframe she is looking at.
Anyway, you all have a great day!

Good Morning GIF by Simon Super Rabbit
It's a cool 66F and the air quality is Average right now. Still can smell some burning outside, but with the temps down and a slight breeze it's MUCH BETTER EACH DAY! Whew!

DAVE: I love the video. I actually did the first arm exercise/breathing one. Love the different seasons.
Lee: You should be glad you have a partner to do these with. Nice stress relief.

I'm off to get a HAIR-CUT-Color after 11 weeks. Wasn't allowed to have color done after eye surgery. DUH???

BB: Is BERT feeling any better now that he has some meds to take? Hope so.

Nancy: Hope you're doing better today too.

Karen: Slow down and pop in girl!

The rest of you Wrabbits have a good day. Be back later.

Our dear friend Ronnie is back in the hospital with double pneumonia. This is the fella that slipped while trying to adjust the shower head weeks ago. He has a list of things wrong with him that is just NOT FAIR. He's one fantastic guy. I hope he doesn't run out of FIGHT to overcome all that's going on right now. Please think of Ron in your prayers. Thanks. :emoticon 0152 heart:

A late good morning. Both hands are hurting especially the right. Last night I slept with braces on both hands. Will put the ice pack on the right again today.

All have a great day.
