Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

First up; Sure hoping to hear that you are back home, BB. Or at least your breathing has improved.

950 bucks for 3 nights at the Margarita Resort, Lee??? To rich for me. I was never aware that there was all those resorts, hotels and cafe's.

K2; I heard it's on the news yesterday that Michigan State resumes classes today. That's got a lot of people upset, saying it's too soon. I tend to disagree. The sooner these kids get back to some normalcy, the better. Less time spent dwelling on the shootings.

Thanks for all the detail Bill, describing your cruise. And I'm with you on reducing the number of guns and banning assault rifles. But so far, no one has been able to find a way to do it. Too much money to be made in the sale of guns, and too many people equate their manhood or power coming from owning a, or a bunch of, firearms.

As we all know, one of the longest isles in any grocery store is the one that sells all the various flavors of soda-pop. When we shopped they had a big basket of individual bottles of a new flavor they've been advertising. Peep flavored Pepsi. Sounds yucky to me, but Kathi put a bottle of it in our cart, and I'll give it a try. Some people say it tastes like cream-soda. We'll soon find out.

Good Monday morning.
I too am hoping that you’re doin’ OK Pat and we’ll hear from you soon.
Nice review of your cruise Bill. That would give you a shock expecting to wake up in one port and being docked in another!
I see “CRASHCAR” lived up to its name Nancy. I heard it was the longest Daytona 500. Did they lengthen a mile? ;)
After any loss Lu-Ann’s Dad always said the sooner you can get normalcy back into people’s days the better. It may not always be easy but I think it’s a good plan.
”Peeps” Pepsi Dave? Do they market it as “Peepsi”? We await you review.
We have a busy week ahead. We’re meeting a friend for coffee at The Springs this morning. Tomorrow we meet our friends from home at Parksdale Farm Market. You and Art must remember the berries we had there Kathie. Thursday we pick up our race credentials and Friday is our 5K through EPCOT. It’s so nice to come to Florida to relax. :D
Hi to the rest and everyone have a fantastic day.

I'll have to look for the new Pepsi the next time I'm in Publix, but I doubt I'll put it in our cart unless Dave gives it a stellar review. Rita and I are Coke fans (Diet for her, REAL Coke for me). I remember the ill-fated introduction of New Coke years back and when I tried it my only reaction was "when I want to drink Pepsi, I'll get Pepsi, not this imitation". I worked with a fellow who had been an executive for Coca Cola and he insisted that a great deal of market research had been done before they put the New Coke on the market, but obviously that market research was wrong. I think they were fooled by those ads where consumers were given blind samples of both Coke and Pepsi and most preferred the taste of Pepsi but failed to come to the same conclusion that I did- people who preferred the taste of Pepsi were already buying Pepsi and regardless more people were buying Coke than Pepsi.
Watched some TV last night and was pleased that all of the programs I watched were new and not repeats. Not sure how long that will last.
Happy President's Day everyone. It is supposed to be a hot one here in Vero.

Good afternoon. We are just home from our pre colonoscopy appt. Mine is March 14th and Bruce's March 16th. The liquid prescribed for us to take we don't start taking it until 4 pm the day before, there are a few drugs/otc that we can't take for a few days before.

Lee, they enough cautions with restarts that the race was 530 miles. We were happy with the winner. A nice guy who just has not had great rides.

All have a great day.

Hopefully Pat is doing really well today. I wonder if she gets the same room “at check in” at The Celebration Hospital? :emoticon 0152 heart:

Hope you all are having a great day. Looks like it's nice in most of Florida.

Lee: You do a lot on your vacations, but it's things YOU GUYS WANT TO DO, so it's okay to be busy. Beats sitting in a house staring out the window! Ha Ha.

Welcome Home I Missed U GIF by Bells and Wishes

Negc and RITA: Nice to have you back in your Winter Home. Congrats on Rita winning the $250. Nice haul. Hope she didn't spend it in the Casino. I'm a Pepsi fan, but I'll drink Coke if it's the only one offered. WOW.... you just can't go anywhere without TIPPING over and getting
scrapped knees! Glad you didn't hurt yourself to badly Negc.

Lee: Yes, who could ever forget Parkdale and the Strawberry Shortcake. YUM. We also took a side road and always bought our TAKE HOME BAGS of Oranges from some part-time orange grower in a old house up a hill. He had great oranges.

DAVE: Can't wait to hear how the Peep Pepsi is. Just saying the word makes me think of what we say to MANNY when we want him to go outside and PEE! Ha Ha. Now get that out of your head before you try that Peeps Pepsi! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

BB: If you're reading along I sure hope you're doing better. I saw your POST on FACEBOOK so I know you're able to get online. Stop by and chat with us. Miss you on here. And your KITCHEN is wondering where you sent to!

Nancy: We watched some of the RACE. Way too many crashes.

Today ART got all our paperwork together from the one area we keep TAX STUFF IN and low and behold we had EVERYTHING in order! Yippee. The CPA will love us.

Karen: How is Scooter doing? Hope all is going good for him/her?

I have a sad story about our neighbor next door and his kitties. One 8 yrs old and one 16 yrs old.
The 16 yr old kitty was in need of going to the vet. Something was wrong. Well, the Kidney test was OFF the CHARTS. Art (the neighbor next doors name) knew the kitty was going down hill, but didn't think it was that bad. The vet said it was time to let her go. So he did. This was Friday.
On Monday he saw that the other kitty (8 yrs old) was acting strange. He thought it was because it missed it's buddy. Stopped eating and going to the bathroom, etc. So he takes it to the Vet and they said they would keep it and do tests and observe it. Well, he didn't even get the 2 MILES home and he had a phone call to come back.
He knew something was up. When they put him a room the VET came in and started crying. Seems like this 8 yr old kitty was in SHUT-DOWN mode with kidney, bladder issues beyond being able to be helped. So he had to have her put down too. Art said he cried all the way home. WHAT A BLOW.

And then on top of all that his daughter goes to MSU and had just left the UNION HALL 20 mins before the shooter showed up. She was in lock down for 4 hours in her dorm. Just horrible stuff going on for this really nice guy. So now he might be getting 2 black kitties from a foster home care place. He said people don't like to take BLACK CATS because of the superstition. Yikes that's so hard to believe.
My Art, has lost his job of taking care of the kitties after all these years. He felt so bad for our neighbor (Art). I know he was holding back tears as he sat and told his story.

Sorry that was so long.

I cleaned the inside of my WASHING MACHINE earlier. Under the RIMS and got some good YUK out of it. I do that a few times a year and this time it was minimal. I then took 5 dishwasher PODs and threw them into a full HOT cycle. I read somewhere that this helps to get the inner TUBE area of the washer that you can't get to clean. Who knows it it's true or not, but I did it and then did a double rinse. Made me feel like it was cleaner.
I use Vinegar, most of the time, as a softener and it's a cleaning agent for YUK too. Makes the clothes really soft and takes out any soap residue. I buy the Vinegar at Costco in the huge jugs. (cheaper than softener)

Sorry this was so long. You all have a good day. Prayers that our Mama Bunny gets herself back in the HUTCH soon. I think her doctor should put her on a regular schedule to get breathing treatments to get the YUK out of her lungs. But then I'm only a part-time doctor!

Somebody got on here just now. Let me see who it was.
It was LEE..... funny guy!

Good afternoon!

Bill, sure glad your scooter tumble didn't do any serious damage!

Kathie, oh my goodness, your poor neighbor! I can't imagine losing 2 fur babies that close together, good for him on adopting the black kittens. It was 6 yrs ago yesterday I lost my black kitty, K-T.
Scooter's Bp numbers are still high so the vet upped her meds & she goes back in 2 weeks for a re-check

Dave, Peeps Pepsi does not even sound remotely good, you are a brave man for trying it. I do like cream soda though, so if it does taste like that I may change my opinion & give it a try.

Pat, hope you are getting the Royal treatment at Celebration & are well on your way to recovery!

Lee, you do indeed have a busy week ahead of you! Good luck to you both on your Disney run, can't wait to see the pics!

So sad to hear that former president Jimmy Carter is now in home hospice. He didn't get a lot of respect as a president but he is one heck of a fine human being! I was lucky enough to see him back in Toledo when he was campaigning for president, even got to shake his hand.

Going to Jane's in the morning to attach an over grown crepe myrtle tree, but before that I have to go back to the bank. While I was going over the paperwork for my loan I noticed there is still 1 paper that has the wrong name of Karen J. Cooper on it. I missed it at the closing because it wasn't a paper I had to sign. It looks like it's on a page that get's recorded at the county so I want to make sure they get it fixed before it's filed. Always something!

Karen…good for you catching your NAME being wrong on the paperwork. Hard to believe they just can’t get it right. Geez!

I too always had a lot of respect for former
Pres. Carter. He put up with a lot of ugliness towards him.
Nice he is able to be at home while under hospice care.

Anybody buy a new mattress on Presidents Day?

I've still no opinion on the Peeps flavored Pepsi. Kathi still hasn't opened up her bottle of it. I prefer Pepsi over Coke, but doubt I'll like this mixture.

Sad that Jimmy Carter has decided on Hospice. He is and was a good guy.

This year Lee.......NO carrying wine in your water bottle during the 5K.

Sad story about the kitties, K2.

The only President I've seen in person was Ronald Reagan. He was running for President at the time and gave a speech at the Akron/Canton Airport.

Our Monday started off with a visit by a local plumber. Both sides of our kitchen sink were plugged up. But I don't have a drain-snake. And just plunging both sides wasn't enough. Around 9 in the morning, he was in and out in about 1/2 an hour.

Good morning.
I think it’s gonna be a warm one here today.
I like your idea Kathie to have our Pat go for regular visits to check out and clear her lungs.
A rough start to the week having to call in the plumber Dave. What? No wine in my water bottle? What’s the point of running!
Yes Karen, a very good catch of the error on the paperwork. This seems to be the problem that just won’t go away.
I think President Carter was more respected outside of The US for his conservation efforts. He seemed to be, from the outside, a genuine humanitarian.
The only President we saw was President George H Bush. When Lu-Ann won a trip to Nashville through our local country radio station it included, among other things, a trip to the taping of a talk show on The Nashville Network called Nashville Now. We had to go through all kinds of security to get in to the studio. Back before all that was the norm. Why the security? The host, Ralph Emery, had Mr. Bush as a guest. As I recall he was a pretty entertaining guest.
You all have a fantastic day!

Good morning. No plans for me today.

Yesterday I took a list of all our appts so we could easily set our colonoscopies and it worked, the first day she said I have an appt with the hand Dr so she asked about the next week and it was open so we are set, me then Bruce two days later.

I am sure that Dr Kam won't be happy that the shot in my finger has not worked, it only lasted 2 weeks, now the finger swells and hurts as much as all the other fingers. So will have to see what else he comes up with.

Hope that Pat is able to come home today.

I gave up soda when I found I am type 2 Diabetic, had tried different sugar free and did not like any so it was not too hard to give them up. But I don't think Peeps Pepsi will be that good.

All have a great day.

New Orleans Party GIF by SportsManias
Yes, you read it right here. Eat up Wrabbits and enjoy those sweets!

Here's the tradition that has been going on in our neck of the woods for decades. Tens of thousands are made in and around Hamtramck, MI and other local bakeries. There are "CopyCat" Paczki's, so buyers beware. And yes, these days they are expensive! $3 each.

Get ready to rise, shine and indulge on Tuesday in a metro Detroit favorite.

Fat Tuesday is here and that signals Paczki Day, when people arrive in the wee hours at bakeries to grab these Polish pastries. The day is also one of indulgence for many metro Detroiters ahead of the Lenten season — a time of discipline and fasting leading up to Easter.

While the day is also known as Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday, the beloved paczki reigns mighty here in metro Detroit the day before Ash Wednesday. For many, there’s no better way to indulge than eating fruit- or cream-filled, glazed, or dusted with powdered sugar paczki.
shutterstock-371782033___03124205894.jpg
They're huge and made with lots of "FATS"....think BUTTER! Full of various jams. And the ones at the local grocery stores are FAKES and horrible! Ha Ha. Must drive down to Hamtramck to get the originals.

Have a fun day all.

Pat posted on Facebook that she should be released and coming home WEDNESDAY! Hope all is going well for her.

Oh these delusional Michiganders, thinking they have the best paczki's in the land. Obviously they have never been to the Polish neighborhoods of Cleveland.

But wherever you get one, or a dozen, of these tasty treats, you'll be glad you did.

First, you’re probably wondering how to pronounce paçzki, which does not look like it sounds: it’s pronounced “POONCH-key".

I wonder how some people down in New Orleans are feeling this morning. Mardi Gras had to be a hoot.

Anybody giving up anything up for lent?

I never knew that Lu-Ann was a fan of country music. I don't know Lee, any famous country artists from Canada?

Hoping nothing goes haywire at the last minute, and BB gets to come home.

Good morning. A foggy morning.
Thanks for letting us know that Momma Bunny is supposed to be home today Kathie. :emoticon 0100 smile:
Sorry, the best paczki are from Lakeside Bakery in Leamington. If you don’t pre order or get there early you don’t get them!
We both like country Dave. As for Canadian country artists, well, Shania Twain, Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, Blue Rodeo, Michelle Wright come to mind as performers who were known on both sides of the border. There’s many others who had good careers in Canada.
Time for coffee. See you all later.

So as we wandered, Lu-Ann and I, on our walk with coffee in hand I couldn’t stop humming that Luke Bryan tune Dave. Thanks Buddy.

Good morning. Today is Ash Wednesday.

Last evening we went to the neighbors across the street to celebrate Fat Tuesday. Their daughter lives in New Orleans and she sent them a Kings Cake from the oldest bakery in New Orleans, so they wanted to share. There were 6 couples and 2 grandchildren. WE were there for about 2 hours and everyone had a good time.

Only plan for today is going to Publix to pick up Rx's.

All have a great day.

That was ONE GREAT SONG.... Thanks for posting Dave! Love'd it.

Hallmark Ecards Ash GIF by Hallmark Gold Crown
Good ASH WEDNESDAY to those who are of that faith.

Here in PURE MICHIGAN..... we are buckling down for a ICE STORM that should start later this afternoon. First rain then freezing rain and snow. The stores will be flooded with people buying
MILK & BREAD today.
I need to go and get a bottle of the Founders Red Blend to have on hand in case we're trapped in the house.

I have one of those USELESS Dr's appts at 9:45 a.m. on FRIDAY morning to go over bloodwork that I had done last week. If it's still bad outside I will be cancelling that for sure. That type of appt should be over the phone or Zoom.

Lee: Love to hear that you're able to walk around with a Coffee in hand. I take it the FOG LIFTS by the time you take your 2nd walk.
How was your visit to Parksdale Farm? Did the price of that Strawberry Shortcake sky rocket? It was quite PRICEY to begin with the last time we were there.

Mama WRABBIT.... hope you get out of Celebration today. We've cleaned up your HUTCH and got it all ready for your return. You have been missed. Your KITCHEN wonders if you sold the house! Ha Ha.

Nancy: Hope your hands are feeling better today.

Negc: What's next on your list of things to do while in Florida? Did you get any reading done while on the ship? Hope your bruises are healed or at least better by now.

Out of here for now. I have to get some bills in order to pay online. Need to drive over to the bank and deposit a check that came in the mail before the ICE STARTS. Oh and get that wine!

BE GOOD WRABBITS AND STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.

Finished the Barbara Kingsolver book, Demon Copperhead, while on the cruise, K2 and started a Patricia Cornwall book which I have almost finished now.
Our plans are pretty much to continue to enjoy the fine weather the Florida Belles have been providing since we arrived. I believe that the next several days will have temperatures in the 80s with little or no rain in the forecast.
Do have to go to Walgreen's today to pick up a prescription. Wonder of wonders, I dropped it off yesterday and they somehow managed to get it transferred from my pharmacy, filled it, and it is already available for pick up and the cost is only $3 and change.
Cleared up, what I believe is the last detail involving our checking account change, by contacting Blue Cross-Blue
Shield to auto pay my monthly insurance premium from the new account. A very nice CSR walked me through the process over the phone and it was pretty painless.
Hope that Pat is home by now and in much better shape than when she left to go to the hospital. I'm sure her family is happy to have her home.
Horrific story the other day about a woman in Spanish Lakes, which is near here, that was killed by a 10 foot alligator. Last year there was an alligator that regularly sunned himself on the edge of a pond in the golf course near the condo we were staying in. Don't have to tell you that we never got anywhere close to him but could watch from our living room window around 5pm as he slipped into the pond and swam away to wherever he spent the night.

Hoping you’re resting at home Pat.
Parkesdale was “OK” Kathie. Not as many berries on the shortcake. A shortcake (no extras like ice cream) and a shake were $10.50. Afterwards we went to Keel and Curley’s winery. True Blue is better. Home was bracing for ice today as well but so far it’s just rain.
We saw that incident Bill. We have to wonder if the lady didn’t see or wasn’t aware that the alligator was there.
So Nancy, who got the Baby Jesus in The King Cake?
Music. Everyone hears it. Some of it we enjoy some we don’t. Yes, we like country but from the 70’s and 80’s. The stuff now sounds for the most part like head bangin’ rock. Most of you know that Lu-Ann and I are Parrotheads. So along those lines we like also ”soft” rock, some folk and of course 60’s Gold on Sirius. How ‘bout all of you?
We may head to The Boardwalk tonight. If we can get in we’ll try to catch The Skyliner at the right time. It’s a great place to watch the fireworks from various Disney parks.
See you later.

Hi Everyone! I haven't gone back and read everything yet, but just wanted to let you know that I am home. My staycation at Celebration Hospital Resort is over!!

Time now for a glass of wine and to relax for a bit on the lanai. Loving this record heat this afternoon!!!

See ya all tomorrow ... Love you guys! :emoticon 0115 inlove: :emoticon 0115 inlove: :emoticon 0115 inlove:
