Let's Play BALDERDASH!!! (copyrighted game name)

Hmmm..let's see:
deipnophobia (Deep-no-FOBE-ee-ah):

1. Abnormal fear of dinner parties and dinner conversation..is the right answer, so Tobyn, you're the clever one today!

2. Fear of having no fear was a good one by Corky who gained one from Seagrandma

3. Fear of growing grey hair was a cute one by Funnel but no takers, sorry!

4. Fear of there being no God was Tobyn so add another from Corky and Glo=ree=bee

Okay...Euneirophrenia (yoo-NIGH-ro-FREE-nee-a)

1. Excessive distrust of workers in Government jobs...ie...President, Vice-President, FBI, CIA, etc

2. Bliss enjoyed upon waking from a pleasant dream

3. The thrill of jumping out of airplanes

4. Freedom from nightmares

and don't forget that we can post bumrowl tonight if I get one or two more definitions.

Seamom - I think I get one from Funnel for deipnophobia (Deep-no-FOBE-ee-ah) #2 Fear of having no fear...but who is counting.

I have no idea how you are keeping up with this, and do not envy you at all. Good job!!

Honestly Seamom, it was a guess because it was the only one that started with "Abnormal fear" For those that fell for my bluff . . . .sorry . . . .LOL ! ! !

Euneirophrenia

1. Excessive distrust of workers in Government jobs...ie...President, Vice-President, FBI, CIA, etc

2. Bliss enjoyed upon waking from a pleasant dream

3. The thrill of jumping out of airplanes

4. Freedom from nightmares

Funny as it sounds, as a Government employee myself, I'll have to take: #1 Excessive distrust of workers in Government jobs...ie...President, Vice-President, FBI, CIA, etc

I`m going to fit bumrowl in here quickly too as it was a weak one to use and to be honest, I can`t find the definition card (and Corky, you must have jinxed my organization! :P lol) so I`m doing it from memory.

bumrowl:

1. pads or cushions attached to a woman`s hips

2. Bad outcome of a decision made hastily

3. Napsack used by hobos

4. A misleading statement

So keep busy...guess this, euneirophrenia and define suckanhock! See you tonight.

Ok Seamom...you're no good, you can't keep anything straight, what is the matter with you!!! There, feel better???

bumrowl:

1. pads or cushions attached to a woman`s hips

2. Bad outcome of a decision made hastily

3. Napsack used by hobos

4. A misleading statement

# 4. A misleading statement

It appears that I am back to agreeing with someone . . . . # 4. A misleading statement

Seamom - I think I get one from Funnel for deipnophobia (Deep-no-FOBE-ee-ah) #2 Fear of having no fear...but who is counting.

Yes, you got me there, Corky!

I think Corky is trying to fool us! My bum not my head tells me it is #1 I wonder if Funnel will trust ME on this one?

#1.

Maybe it's a good idea to trust you this time... hmmm...
OK, #1 for bumrowl it is! :boogie:

Let's see... is there another word too today?
...or have I already guessed for Euneirophrenia?

Anyway, let's say #4 for Euneirophrenia if I have not given any answer yet. It's only a qualified guess of course (OK, not qualified, I think you call it a "long shot").

/Erik

LOL.... Funnel, it's not that funny that you should trust my mom but that my Mom actually said the word 'bum' in public. My son and I are having a chuckle!!

I'm going to do the dishes and come back to tell you all the correct answers and put up the definitions for suckanhock...so get them in if you haven't already!!

Oh Lordy...I am way behind and catching up here!! Blame it on me finding TERRIBLE TWENTY and Friday Fun questions!

Okay...quick guesses....

Euneirophrenia

1. Excessive distrust of workers in Government jobs...ie...President, Vice-President, FBI, CIA, etc

2. Bliss enjoyed upon waking from a pleasant dream

3. The thrill of jumping out of airplanes

4. Freedom from nightmares

I pick #2 Bliss enjoyed upon waking from a pleasant dream It happens not too often...I'm more likely to experience terror from a nightmare!

bumrowl:

1. pads or cushions attached to a woman`s hips

2. Bad outcome of a decision made hastily

3. Napsack used by hobos

4. A misleading statement

I'm going with Seagrandma...she wouldn't say "bum" unless this was the right answer  so

#1 pads or cushions attached to a woman`s hips

First the answers:

Euneirophrenia (yoo-NIGH-ro-FREE-nee-a)

2. Bliss enjoyed upon waking from a pleasant dream is the real name but because it was so similar, I'm giving 1/2 a point to anyone picking Glo-ree-bee's 4. Freedom from nightmares. So....

1 point for the right answer to Corky and Beryl.

Tobyn awards Corky a point for #1.

And Funnel gets 1/2 a point and gives one to Glo-ree-bee.

Now for the answers of a word I can at least spell without looking - "bumrowl"

Funnel ....you were right to trust my mother this time (and anytime outside of games, as she likes to win so bluffing to trick you might be tempting!). You both (and Beryl) get a point for choosing what would seem to be an obvious definition (which actually fooled the rest), though times that people actually find big hips attractive are too few!

I wish I was getting points as everyone else chose my misleading statement, so you lose! So many wanted to define suckanhock that I almost forgot to include the right definition!

suckanhock:

1. A bird found in the sea.

2. A female mammal that has lost the ability to give milk.

3. A portion of the thigh of a pig. See all hamhock.

4. The drainage hole at the bottom of a Dutch windmill.

5. Facing in all directions.

Yippee...more points!!

suckanhock:

1. A bird found in the sea.

2. A female mammal that has lost the ability to give milk.

3. A portion of the thigh of a pig. See all hamhock.

4. The drainage hole at the bottom of a Dutch windmill.

5. Facing in all directions.

Ok - I know this is wrong, but my pick is:

# 2. A female mammal that has lost the ability to give milk.

There are too many of these words, I missed guessing some.. I got the last one right because it seemed such a British word. I was hoping Red would confirm. I will have another guess and try and get another point.
A suckanhock sounds Dutch to me so I go for #4

suckanhock

Suck...reminds me of suckling and Hock....part of the leg or wine...so I pick the answer that has to do with leg...

3. A portion of the thigh of a pig. See all hamhock.

suckanhock:

1. A bird found in the sea.

2. A female mammal that has lost the ability to give milk.

3. A portion of the thigh of a pig. See all hamhock.

4. The drainage hole at the bottom of a Dutch windmill.

5. Facing in all directions.

Okay Seagrandma . . . .you may be yanking my chain, but I will agree with you and go with #4.

You seemed to like suckanhock!

Corky, Funnel gotcha with the mammal(but we lost Funnel in the guessing game)!

But then Corky got Seagrandma and Tobyn (I think Seagrandma yanked her own chain, too, Tobyn and wasn't after yours!)

And Tobyn got Beryl with his hamhocks!

Now for vuggy!

vuggy (VUGG-ee)

1. Air pollution that results when sulfur dioxide and other gases and particles emitted by an erupting volcano react with oxygen and humidity

2. To hide a flask of whiskey underneath a hat

3. Feeling ill, or under the weather

4. In a smooth, flowing musical style suited for singing

What's it going to be?
