Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

It’s the same 55F here now as it was all day yesterday! We did get a good gentle rain last evening. I’m sure Karen would have appreciated a little of our cooler air and rain.
I do hope that your plan to try physio before the shots is OK with the doctor Kathie. It does seem odd to send someone out to look at the house and then another to measure it.
We had a Rose of Sharon in our old house. It really wanted to take over the garden too Mike. I’d gladly drop by and fertilize your lawn if we lived a little closer. Anything for a friend. Especially if coffee is involved.
It sounds like Reverend Lisa’s faith is being challenged over the past few weeks Karen. From losing family and parishioners to the choir master resigning. This is when the folks she has surrounded herself with, like you, are there to support her.
“As The Basement Turns”…the next episode. Now, like any soap opera you can skip this and still catch up next week…Anyway, we got all of the remaining doors hung and the drywall touch up done. Even though the doors were marked LH and RH the one for the bedroom was labeled wrong. I suggested calling the door place and have them deliver a door with the proper swing. Nope. So now the bedroom door swings open into the rec room instead of into the bedroom.
Then Jim wanted to start on putting together the furniture!! Another surprise to all of us. I asked why are we adding stuff to the rec room before the trim is completed and the area can be cleared of remaining lumber, tools etc. Doug and Dave agreed with that direction. Well, it seems, time is running out on the free return window for the furniture so that has to be done in case Gail doesn’t like it and wants to ship it back.:mad::mad:
So, there ya have it.
You all have a wonderful Thursday. I’m taking my sweetie to Linda’s Grand Opening, that’s the ladies store in town, and maybe out for lunch. :)

Lee: We’re always here to listen and lend a shoulder. JIM is in my DO NOT ANSWER list for fear he’d put me on his FREE work list!

Went to pain Dr and what an absolutely nice person. Said to do the PT and then go from there!

Took some pics of the Clematis plant in front of the house. It would look even better if the darn Sun was out!!

The Tiny little Viola’s scattered on the ground in the 3 rd picture came up from last year. True survivors after a hard Winter. They weren’t suppose to come back!
Had to show you the new Flag.

68F and overcast.

Later gang.

It seems the doctor really wants to work with you to see how PT goes before mucking about with other treatments Kathie. Beautiful flowers. I really liked striking colours of The Stars and Stripes against the cloudy sky too!

Thanks Lee. Ole Glory looks so much better when the SUN is shining on her! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

I wish EVERY ONE of my doctors was as nice as the one I saw today. How lucky to find a Dr that actually listens and explains things. WOW.

Off of here now to get us some Hungry Howie's Pizza.

Just checking in from dry dusty Belleview, we had a severe thunderstorm warning this afternoon, lots of thunder & lightning zilch on rain!

Choir practice tonight for the funeral tomorrow, it sure was nice being together with everyone & with Brian! After we finished practicing the music for tomorrow one of the ladies asked him if he wanted to go over the music for Sunday then. He just laughed & said we can go over it but I won't be here playing it.
We have to be at church by 9:30 in the morning so I'm going to call it an early night.

Karen, I wish I could send you some of the rain we are having, We are going to get about 5 inches of rain this month with a lot of rain last month
K2, I don't stick to a Dr. that I can't talk to and doesn't explain things. Fay and I are dropping a Dr this year. I have a great family Dr. Your clematis are beautiful. I think it is a little odd to that it takes two visits to give an estimate.. I hope your pain dr. can help you. Mine helped me.
Lee, how many episodes will you have before the basement is finished. hang in there.
Pattie came over today, her and Fay went to Krogers and got gas for the cars. When they got h ome they cleared the little garden spot and planted a grape , big boy and sweet one hundred tomato plants. After that we sat around and talked for a while.

Good Friday morning.
It should be a nice day here. We may see thunder storms in the evening.
I can guarantee one thing Mike. No matter how many episodes are left we will NOT be renewed for another season. It sounds like you have planted a nice assortment of tomatoes.
Cudos to the choir member for trying to get Brian to agree to one more Sunday Karen.
When we moved here our doctor was so very good and attentive Kathie. As much as we like her she’s mucked up two of my script repeats lately. She and her office don’t follow up like they used to in a timely manner anymore. We think she’s taken on too many patients.
All the chat about flowers made me think of Dave. Again. He called them all posies. Miss ya buddy.
Anybody else have an urge for a TACO? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Off to the salt mine (Jim’s basement) in a bit. You all have a grand Friday.

70F right now and Sun is in and out. Trying to do it's best to stay bright! :sunflower:

Lee: I think you and the OGC team should LOCK JIM in the basement and throw away the key.
He needs to TOTALLY ENJOY his lower level!

Our granddaughter, Ashley, is going to Italy with a lifetime friend and her family. They asked Ash to come along with them. Now that's what I call a "very sincere friendship". Ash will be standing up in Taylor's wedding next year.
Okay, I regressed with that bit of infor. I being the "generous" grandmother (Baba in Serbian)
saw a travel Hair blower and bought it for her trip. Ha Ha. Just shows how OLD I AM! Ash in the kindest way she could said "Baba, they have hair dryers in hotels in Italy"! :emoticon 0136 giggle: Why carry more than you need on a trip! Yup, kids are smarter than we think they are.
So, I took it back and bought myself a nice Rechargeable Electric Froth & Whisk Set
at TJ Max's. It's really neat to "froth" my half/half for my coffee. Starbucks, I hope you don't miss me! Ha Ha. I already had a nice stainless-steel pitcher, so it made it easy to froth in something DEEP enough. Always something to keep me busy!

You all have a good day and I'll be back. I miss all our Hutch mates that are no longer with us. SAD, but I have such fantastic memories that pop up every so often. :emoticon 0152 heart:

Good afternoon! It's been a long day & I think I need one of Father Dave's beloved afternoon naps! Had to be at church by 9:30 this morning for the funeral & didn't leave till almost 1:30. The lady who died had been living in Calif. for the last few years with family so sadly there weren't a lot of St Mary's people there for the service. The choir did good though we had 13 members in the choir loft.

Kathie, how cool of Ashley to be invited on that trip to Italy, friends like that don't come along very often. I know how you feel about missing so many of our former group, it just doesn't seem right not seeing posts from Dave, Pat or Tony.

Lee, you and the other OGC's are better people than I would be at handling all of Jim's changes & work expectations. A word of advice from someone who's been there, NO is a complete sentence!

Mike, at 5:55 this morning I woke up to the sound of a fairly heavy rain hitting the skylights, if that was from you I Thank You! It only lasted about 20 mins. but it was more rain than we've had in quite a while.

Going back over to Jane's in the morning to try & adjust her sunshade/awning. Over the years it's started to drop so I'm working on a way to stretch it out without having to move the 4x4 posts. Started it yesterday but it was later in the morning & the sun was just beating down & to hot to finish. Hopefully I'll get over there early enough in the morning to get it finished up. May mow part of the back yard while I'm there since she's been getting a bit more rain than us.
Another day or 2 and my 1st cherry tomato will be ready to pick
Enjoy your Friday all, I keep thinking it's Saturday!

Lee, for some reason I cannot stand tacos anymore, and when I think
of one I keep changing my mind.
K2, you are warmer than we are, 63. It is sunny so hopefully it will warm up.
We had some heavy rain this morning, 1/4 to 1/2 inch, the tomato plants got a good soaking.
I'm going to get a cup of coffee, join me anyone.

Lee: I sure hope that “Gail” likes the furniture you guys are going to be putting together.
Can you imagine having to take the furniture ALL APART and get it all boxed up to ship back. If I hear SCREAMS from across the River I’ll know that Gail didn’t like the furniture! Sure wish
Mama Bear was still around to add her opinion on this saga!

Friday nights on TV really suck. I need to find a good book to fill in all the TV shows that are not on through the Summer.

Have a good Sat everyone.
The GRAND PRIX is going on in downtown Detroit. Not somewhere you want to be unless you really like car races and lots of closed roads and noise!

A cool, cloudy start to this Saturday on our early walk. It’s not in the forecast but it actually looked like it may rain. We, and I’m sure Kathie’s area, were under a smoke advisory until early this morning from the wildfires raging in western Canada.
In yesterday’s episode of “As the Basement Turns” stupidity once again seemed to be the only consistent thing. None of the furniture was assembled. Why? Because while Jim and Dave painted a second coat on doors (that could have been done later) Doug and I were instructed to do trim. With a big electric mitre saw. That makes dust. In the same area as paint (the same paint that didn’t need to be done) was being applied. A little after having completed door trim and baseboards in the bedroom Doug said “this is just stupid”. We packed up and left. I’m hoping his statement and us leaving will finally give Jim and Gail pause for thought. We are supposed to go back Tuesday. Mama Bunny most certainly would be having a little something to add!
We had a friend get caught up in the Detroit Indy street closures yesterday Kathie. She said that, combined with road construction which ever way she was directed seemed to lead to another detour. She almost drove up the river to cross at Sarnia!
Oh Mike, your wit and humour always puts a smile on my face. Next time I see you the tacos are on me. Unless we do change our minds.
Getting home earlier than expected yesterday gave me a chance to cut the front lawn Karen. Extreme heat isn’t something, so far, that we’ve had to deal with. Please be careful working in the heat. I know you do and take lots of hydration breaks.
Lu-Ann and I have a little gardening to tend to. We fear our hibiscus bush is done so we’ll see about getting it out and maybe looking for something to replace it. I’m leaning towards plastic flowers…
You all have a fantastic day!

Good Day Wrabbits.
Anybody feel like cleaning up the HUTCH? Lots of bunny fuzz all over the place! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee: Good for you guys “walking off” the job! The Union workers would praise you!
Sawing and painting at the same time doesn’t make sense.

Glad your friend finally made it back home. The race area will be a mess for 2 weeks after the Grand Prix so the crews can take down all the barriers. Talk about a lot of congestion

Mike and others here’s my latest coffee I made with my new Frother gizmo !
Enjoy!

A Barista is Born! Are those ever cute Kathie. Is that cinnamon that you have used for the designs? The rhododendrons and peonies are really blooming in The Navy Yard today too.

Lee: Cinnamon on one and Olvatine on the other. Cinn worked better. I want to find some powder choc that is sweet!

I made a really yummy Orzo Bean/pepper cold salad today. At our local Veggie store they have a deli area and sell this same combo for $12.99 a POUND. So, I weighed out my ingredients and added up my cost and subtracted the weight of the bowl all this was in and if I had to buy this same amount at the store it would cost me $46.00 buck-a-roos! INSANE.
It's hard to believe how much people will pay for some things now a days. I have the label from 2021 and it was $7.99 a pound. I bought some so I could have the ingredients. I saved it and just go from that list. :chef: :clap002: If I get on my cell phone I'll try and post a picture.

Later gang.

That’s a crazy jump in price Kathie. And because it likely went up a few cents at a time nobody really noticed. Ooh, a powdered chocolate would also be a fine edition to the designs on the froth.
Open Air Weekends started on Friday evening. The town closes down three blocks. There is entertainment and shops and restaurants move their wares out on to the street. The gang went down at 5:30. We met at “Frate” which advertises itself as a “street food that will make your tastebuds dance”. They actually operate out of a converted shipping container! Lu-Ann and I shared a double smash burger that came with crispy fries and an order of balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts for $44 including tax and a tip. Very tasty and for our area, reasonably priced. Here’s where things went a little downhill. We ordered two 6 oz glasses of wine from the inside (no prices posted) bar. Now, last weekend we met a friend at a winery and wine was $9 a glass or $33 for the bottle. When the bill for the wine came it was $15.00. PER GLASS. Before tax. Before tip. The bottle Lisa, Doug and Brenda shared…$61.00. While we will go back to Frate we won’t be enjoying a glass of wine.
Ava and I headed out this morning and it was 44F! I checked the calendar and it is indeed June 1. As I peck away at the keyboard an hour later it is 42F. Crazy weather.
I cleared the back garden and I think one of the hibiscus bushes will be OK. Fingers crossed for the other. And I got the grass cut so today is free for whatever Lu-Ann may like to get in to.
I hope all of you have a wonderful day. I’ll check back on you all later on.

Drink at home before going next week Lee!!
Mixed drinks here are out of sight these days. Except for my favorite Bloody Mary's
I really don't appreciate paying $$$ for a drink.

Skipped church today and watched on my iPhone. Both Karen's church and a Serbian Orthodox church in Aliquippa, PA. They have such a beautiful choir.

Art is outside doing gardening around the plants. I can't imagine what this place would look like without all the work he does to clean up the flower beds in the Spring.

Enjoy your day folks.

I swear, although not as much as I used to :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: , the garden area and hibiscus we cleaned up yesterday grew 2” overnight.
We won’t be going every week Kathie. But it was still a nice time out.
