Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Quick check in between errands & Dr. appts...

Lee, add me to the list of people who are wondering what caused the pressure increase so quickly...glad they caught it before it caused any more serious damage...

Kathie, can't wait to see the after pic's of the new paint color..

Dave, my lawn is also smooth...and green... :) but then you have 2 built in "fertilizers" at your house so you'll catch up soon I'm sure

Pat, yes...what is the occasion for an Easter do-over dinner? How's the leg & toe doing?

1 week post op & my eye is still doing pretty good...3 more weeks of drops..but I'm down to 2 drops twice a day instead of 3...so it's not horrible...
Wes & the plumbers were at Barb's this morning so she wanted me there too...why I have no idea...I was planning to stop by on my way to my Dr. appt in town...but that didn't suit her schedule...oh well...the plumbers got the new shower base in, the new toilet flange installed & were working on the new shower valve when I left..
Wes is coming back this afternoon to do a few things & then hopefully finish up the project next week...we shall see...
Time to grab some lunch before I have to head out again...stay safe all!

All went well with OUR dental appts. Got there early, got in the chair early at both places and everyone is a Happy Camper.

Sometimes everything works out for the best! Whew!

Can you believe the weather folks are predicting 70's on Saturday and
80's on Sunday. Must be doing that for our Orthodox Easter! Ha ha.

A DElightful weather day in Massillon yesterday. Sunny and warming up. In his short life, this may have been the first time Jack was able to lay in the grass with the sun on him. He was loving it.

And you're right K2, him being cute lets him get by with a lot of his misbehavior. (Kinda like me.
1f601.png
) Him getting trained and not being a puppy anymore can't come soon enough. I'm too damn old to be raising a puppy.

Very pleased to hear that your eye is healing nicely, KC. Amazing the difference when you get a good doctor. I'm also happy to read that Wes is moving along nicely on the bathroom project. It's also amazing the difference when you get a good contractor. You lucked out finding Wes. There IS a good contractor in Florida after all.

A soggy day here today, and we plan on going grocery shopping. Jack is not going to be happy about that one little bit. He wants nothing to do with his kennel, no matter how many blankets and chew toys are in there. Heck, Kathi even puts his food bowl in there, and he eats just fine with the door closed. But when he's done eating, he'll raise holy Hell demanding to get out.

But all "parents" need time away from the "kids" once in a while.

Ah, the joys of a new puppy, eh Dave?
It sure sounds like, after multiple setbacks, Wes and his team are taking GREAT care of you and Barb Karen. So glad that your eye is on track too! You are too good a person to put up with all of the crap you've had with your eyes and contractors. Not in any particular order.
Aren't you tickled that the colour on the walls worked out Kathie! Nothing worse than getting it done and as it dries you think "Oh Oh". Yesterday morning was beautiful. The snow had all melted, the sun was out and "the usual suspects" at The Navy Yard were all out and in great moods! Including us and our pups.
Our lawn is a beautiful shade of something Pat. I'm sure that once temps start to pick up it will be just fine. With a little help from my fertilizer spreader. Parts already need to be cut!
Lu-Ann and I really liked your fish Nancy. I'm glad we're far enough away that if they disappear off the wall we won't get blamed!
The eyes...before we left for FL the optometrist did say that the pressure in the right eye was a little high but suggested that with everything else over the previous 8 months it could be tied to the surgery, drugs, radiation and on it goes. We agreed to retest things when I got home. The retest showed high pressure still in the right eye. Off to the ophthalmologist for "an evaluation". No, Dr. Isaac did not mention the left eye. I guess the eyes are like headlights. If you have to replace one you might as well do the other one. Anyway it seems that I have, pay attention there will be a test and spelling will count, Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome. It, like me, is very rare and nobody really knows the cause. I had started to see grey bits and flashes of light. Bottom line is that it can result in open-angle glaucoma. So, the ophthalmologist uses a laser to open the "drain" at the back of the eye so the pressure will regulate. I did check to make sure that he didn't have a tremor in his laser hand.
So there ya have it.
Songs that go with that?
"These Eyes" by Canada's own Guess Who or this one from Manfred Mann

You all stay safe and well, OK!

Good morning! Quick post this morning as I still have a lot to do before our company comes. You asked who is coming. Well I'll tell you -Our nephew who captains a ferry in New York harbor is here on vacation with his wife, twin daughters (17) and his mother-in-law, who is my late brother's wife. This is the first time we've seen any of them in years, so we are all looking forward to their visit. Of course, I already anticipate lots of tears being shed between my SIL and I. So now you know why another ham so soon.

On that note, I gotta run. I still have to make some dips and put together a charcuterie board. Have a wonderful day, everyone, and I'll catch up with you tomorrow.

The new dishwasher is being installed as I write this. Hopefully this house isn't jinxed and it will work well. When we purchased this house 10 months ago the only appliance that wasn't working was the dishwasher and you are more than familiar with the issues that we had with its replacement so we are really hoping that the third time is a charm.
Really looking forward to not having to hand wash the dishes and silverware.
Hope your family reunion goes well, Pat.
Sunny but still chilly around these parts but at least we were spared the snow that other places received. I remember the April Fool's Day snowstorm that visited us several years ago and also a snow storm in May many years earlier when Lisa was making her First Communion.
Last night was not a good one for the Red Sox but local fans were rewarded when the Celtics overcame a large deficit and stormed back to a convincing second victory against the Nets. The hadn't led in the game until about midway in the fourth quarter so the ending was quite thrilling.

Good Morning Wrabbits. Grey outside, but the rain has stopped. 53F.

Dave: I think it's good that JACK gets put into the kennel while you all are out of the house. I bet he settles down once you're gone and only acts up when you come back home. He's still a puppy and it'll take a while to see if he WINS at the training or you and Kathi. Good luck.

BILL: Nice to know you should have a working DISHWASHER by the end of the morning.
You're getting the same weather as we have been having lately. Can't wait until Sat & Sun when the temps are going up to 75-80F. Of course, that won't last long, but it will be nice to feel WARMTH for a couple of days.

Art passed on biking in the rain. So, today he will be putting on the 2nd coat of the paint in that dining room.
I'm going to be working on straightening out the cupboards that hold all the canned goods and dry food goods in the pantry. Then the cupboard that has all my baking pans on shelves. Some of the stuff is out of place and needs to get re-organized. It's been bugging me lately.

Karen: Nice to know that the BATHROOM project is moving along. Soon that will be over with. Good to know the eyes are still progressing. Keep putting those DROPS in. That has to be the worse part of the whole procedure.

Lee: I tried to open that SONG and even went and did a google search and spent way too much time on it and got NO WHERE. I'll just trust you that it's another one of your amazing finds.
How is the EYE today? Does it seem any different??

PAT: Thanks for the explanation on why the BIG DINNER. Sounds like it will be fun. Make sure the "BOYS" didn't leave anything on the bathroom floor! Ha Ha. Hope the toe and leg are doing better.

Okay, I'm out of here to get some of that work done.

Later gang.

Good morning. My only plan for today is making scalloped potatoes and ham for dinner, easy and good.

BB, have a great reunion.

Lee, I have never heard of that problem with your eyes, hope fully the laser will work in clearing it up.

All have a great day.

LEE: I shut-down my laptop and restarted it and ALL IS GOOD with viewing the Video. I actually remember that song. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a really fun reunion Pat. Enjoy!
I remember, not so fondly, my Mom’s scalloped potatoes Nancy. Since then I’ve had really good ones!
The rain let up here around 10:30 Kathie. The sun’s out now and it’s darned near 70F! A really great biking day on our side of the river.
I’m sensing that if this dishwasher doesn’t cut it Bill, disposable paper and plastic place settings could be in your future!
Lu-Ann made a batch of granola bars this afternoon. Different from her breakfast granola. And for whatever reason, that got me to thinking what a funny word “granola” is. Seems that the term originated with Dr. John Kellogg in Battle Creek, MI. Another fun but useless fact!
Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Hopefully those items will be in our past and we should find out tomorrow since we left the house and went to visit the Indians in Connecticut shortly after the installation was complete. After our visit, a victory for Rita and only a light trim for me, we stopped at a favorite restaurant in Rhode Island for dinner (Thursday night special for me- New England Boiled Dinner) and got home in time to watch a video of the University of Maine Band Concert where our granddaughter, Julianna, plays the flute. I have high hopes for this machine but will keep my fingers crossed.

Okay, so I think MY TEETH are playing a SYMPATHY GAME with ART's TEETH.
I just went to eat a slice of an ORANGE and I hear a "
crunch" sound. I retrieve a piece of
my back tooth filling! DANG-IT. It's about the size of a grain of Kosher Salt. Not big, but when you put your tongue where it came from it feels like a CRATER. Now I have to call the DENTIST and make yet another appt to get this fixed.
200.gif
This isn't even funny anymore. The dentist and his
hygienist wife bought a home in Florida this past Fall. I get the feeling ART & I are paying for it!

Did any of you folks watch the Detroit Tigers Baseball game today? Well, those NO GOOD NEW YORK YANKEE's
WALKED our guy Miggy, who is 1 hit away from making a
career 3000 hits! What a CHEAP SHOT. I think you might have heard the BOOING in your backyard Lee.
Well, we showed them by getting 2 homeruns and winning the game.
Tomorrow evening Miggy gets another chance at scoring that 3,000th hit. We just want him to do it at home in our BALLFIELD. Lousy Yankees.

Night all.

Oh, by the way, I went to a Thursday church service at one of the other Serbian Orthodox churches tonight at around 6:30 pm. (lot of good it did me with my tooth issue) HaHa. It's a special service during this Holy week. Reading of the Gospels. I only lasted 1 hour. It goes on and on. There were 12 people in the place including the priest. Anyways, the people ALL greeted me with a very nice hello. I was impressed. Good think I know how to speak Serbian and replied to their hello's in the language. That showed them that I was okay! Haha.

Since I'm an old fart, I'm allowed to repeat myself. OK?

We're going grocery shopping this morning. Yes I did say that yesterday morning, but Kathi woke up with a tummy ache, so it was postponed to today.

So sorry to hear about that tooth, K2. You and Art just can't seem to stay away from dentists.

Dishwasher still working Bill?

Thanks for explaining your eye pressure problem, Lee. The understanding of something is always in the details.

It's nice to see that Fuzzbutt and Jack are getting comfortable chasing and rough-housing with each other. And cute too.

Hope all you Bunnies have a good day.

Good morning. No plans for me today.

Yesterday I booked one excursion for Alaska. I booked the whale watch and lunch at Icy Strait. I had done a bunch of research and found that Icy Strait in Sept is the best place for whale watching and the lunch with this excursion just sounded so good. I won't book any more excursions for a couple of months.

All have a great day.

Good morning, everyone! Moving kind of slow this morning. I think we did too much partying, but it was worth it!

Bill - So have you tried out that new dishwasher yet? Better to come home after visiting the Indians with some money, no matter how little it is. Rita seems to be the lucky one in your family. Good for her!

Kathie - Ouch!! You and Art are becoming the dentist's best patients at this rate. Hopefully, it will be an easy fix to replace the filling. Nice that you visited a different church, but I don't blame you for not staying for the whole service.

Dave - I bet it's adorable to watch Fuzzbutt and Jack playing. Puppies have so much energy, so I'm sure he tires Fuzzbutt out by the time playing stops, right?

Nancy - Good for you booking that tour in Icy Strait. We saw very few whales on our trip to Alaska and most of those were from a distance away. I hope you have better luck than that.

Karen - How goes the bathroom project and your eye? We need an update.

Our day yesterday was wonderful. We hadn't seen each other in about 10 years, so you would think it would take a while for everyone to warm up to each other. WRONG! Once they walked in the door, it was as if we all see each other everyday. After the expected initial tears, my SIL and I chatted the day away, in between eating and drinking wine. The day flew by and it was hard to see them all leave. Nephew and his family start driving back to NJ today and my SIL will be heading home before May 1st. She did tell me that she plans to sell the house here. Too many memories for her. It's a big house and she should get an excellent price for it. That about wraps up our day!

Time to read the paper and have another cup of coffee. Take care all and be good!

Lousy Yankees
I think the term is actually "Damned Yankees" Kathie. Hmmm. Any coincidence that you skipped out early on church and suffered a chipped filling?
Do you find that Jack is bringing out the "puppy" in Fuzzbutt Dave.
Do you find that Jack is bringing out the "puppy" in Fuzzbutt Dave. I didn't want you to feel bad about repeating yourself my friend.
But did Rita make enough to pay for the new dishwasher Bill?
Booking lunch in September Nancy! I don't even know what I want for lunch today. ;)
Pat, I can say from experience that walking in to your home feels like something that we do everyday. That's how welcoming you and Bert make everyone feel. I'm so glad you had a great visit.
How's the renos progressing Karen. How is your eye doing now that you're able to cut back on the drops?
I let Ava out this morning and actually went back to bed! I didn't get up until 6:55 which "threw" my whole day behind. Back on track now having walked the kids down at The Navy Yard. The Magnolia trees are starting to pop out. In a few days they should be adding colour to the already blooming daffodils and crocus. It won't be long before the parks department is planting the flower beds.
I managed to get in 30 minutes on the treadmill completing 2.5K. Silly me. I'm thinking of doing the Disney Princess 10K next February. We'll see how much they charge for that. Then I got the outside of the front windows cleaned - again! - after a bird used them for target practice. As Kathie says, "always something!"

I'd still like to get to Starbucks today. They're giving out 25 bonus stars for earth day if you take your won CLEAN cup in for a beverage! We'll see.
Have a dandy day everyone!

Lee, when the description of the lunch is:
  • Seafood feast including shrimp and seasonal crab boiled in Southern seasoning with corn on the cob, Andouille sausage, onions, mushrooms, potatoes and garlic.
I could not resist.

My theme song for the day....was awake till after 2 am this morning...and didn't sleep that great even when I did finally fall asleep..pretty sure a beloved afternoon nap will take place later today..
Eye is still doing pretty good...much better than the first time for sure..

Catch up with you all later ...

BB: Glad the get-together worked out for everyone. Now I need to ask a few questions.
Is this the SIL that was married to George (your brother that passed recently?? If it is I'm so glad you both got together again.

And where is the house she is putting up FOR SALE. Is it in Florida? I'm sorry for the dumb questions, but at times I just can't keep up with everyone's relatives. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

I
decided to have Jill and her gang over for on Sunday for an Orthodox Easter Dinner. It will be set up in the kitchen dining area since the big dining room is still torn apart.
I just got back from the butcher shoppe. I bought us a nice flat Cut Beef Brisket. And get this, I stopped at Costco first and they wanted $3 bucks more a pound than the butcher shoppe did. And they were small and very thin.
We'll have a nice dinner from this piece of meat.

Went and paid the WATER BILL earlier and wanted to scream and tell them our WATER BILLS are just too high, but I was afraid they'd lock me up for disturbing the peace. Ha Ha
I went to the lighting shop on the way home and I'm pretty sure I found a new light fixture for the dining room. I laughed to myself while I was in there. NOT A SINGLE REAL BRASS CHANDILER in the entire place. Can we say that I'll have a hard time trying to even GIVE the old one away, yet alone even think of selling it. It's served us well for the past 30 years. Time to let it go.

Negc: Hope that new dishwasher is going to do the job for you and Rita.

Lee: I can't wait until your flowers in the park are in bloom. We'll have to meet up for sure to see them. And you guys will have to come to Belle Isle and see all he flowers in bloom there.
We're going to do this get-together for sure this year even if we have to swim across the river.
