Hello All:
Can anyone give advice and experiences on getting a massage at the spa on the Navigator (or other similar)? I was curious if you can order a "couples" massage? Are sea days or land days the best time (from a cost stand point).

Thanks much!!!

The only couples massage we found was the one where you learn to massage each other. The rooms aren't big enough for 2 tables in them. Sea days are usually more expensive and more crowded. Be prepared for a hard sell of products at the end. I feel like my girl stopped too early in the massage so she could get in more selling time! Didn't buy anything but I think the ideas on this board of telling them up front that you have no intention of buying anything and that you will tip more if you don't is great! Planning on using that one next year. Enjoy your time onboard.

When you board there will be a compass (the daily paper) in your room. It will list times for spa tours and they will explain all treatments and also book your times if you want. I would suggest booking early because it does get hard to get the time you want later on. I think the massage is called the "Couples Rasul". My daughter and sil did it 2 years ago on Explorer and were still cleaning the "mud" out from under their fingernails at dinner! But, they said it was fun.

I was thinking of getting a stone massage on the Navigator. Is it worth the money?

I had the stone massage on Voyager last year and loved it. DH and I also did the Rasul and and liked it so much we're planning on doing it again on Mariner next month. Can't wait.

Thanks, Connie! Did they high-pressure-sell you on products at all? I'm okay with a little bit, but I don't want a lesser service so they have more time to sell me things I don't want to buy! The opinions I've read have made me nervous. For all that money, I want to be swept away!!

I usually sign up for the "sample" facial and massage combination. Its fun but there is a sell on the product line for the facial supplies - I have never had a "sell " for massage products. I usually sign up for spa treatments first thing when I board so that I can get the time I want.

Hi,

Last Friday I got the massage package on the Navigator that included an exfoliation and mini massage (can't remember what they called it) of supposedly 25 minutes. It was discounted to $79. There was no attempt to sell me anything but the massage wasn't worth the money. The exfoliation consisted of a quick rubbing on the arms, legs and back of a gritty product that I washed off - this took all of 5 minutes. And the massage was divided between the back and the feet and was barely 10 minutes each if that.

My daughter got the LeTherape Facial (or whatever it was called) which is a nice special facial that was discounted to $89. Her facial was much more worth it. It lasted nearly an hour and included arm, let and shoulder massage. There was also no attempt to sell her anything although she appears younger than her 18 years which could be why. The esthetician probably assumed she had no money and no authority to use the seapass.

There will be plenty of discount offers the last two days. We found out about them as we left the shipshape fitness center on Thursday morning. We were handed a flier. If you don't see any cheap offers, go to the fitness center and ask.

Did the Couples Rasul on NOS last week. It was fun and relaxing but it is definitely NOT the couples' massage training class. You are in the steam room by yourself (as a couple) and apply the mud and other products yourselves. After a while rain comes down from the ceiling, washes most off and then you shower and apply more products. We were all set to leave when the time was up and they didn't offer to sell us anything...

The one thing that surprised us was how HOT it was, both the steam and the "rain". But it was definitely a good hour!!
