Looking to book southern route January 2004. AOS goes to Aruba and Curacao. Serande goes antigua, St. Lucia, Barabados and I have been to those islands. Have crown and anchor discount fo Seranade which makes it $225 cheaper. Question is: Are Curacao and Aruba worth the extra money for that cruise. Have been on Radiance and Voyager class ships and both are great although the Radiance class was better IMO. Just want some other opinions

Well the one nice thing about choosing the Serenade over the Advenuture is the day it leaves San Juan, Saturday vs: Sunday. You would have a day to rest up before starting the work week on Monday.

I love the Adventure and I seem to be stuck in Voyager Class mode. I have sailed those itineraries several times and I like them both. If I had to choose it would be the Aruba, Curacao route as the itinerary is less port intensive. Two sea days instead of the one you would get on the Serenade. If you are a C & A Platinum or Diamond member you would also get a discount on taking a balcony cabin.

Ditto what Ali said. We like cruises that leave on Saturday & return on that day too.

Also, the Rad. Class are my favorite even over the Voyager Class.

Aruba is very desert like from what I've heard. If you choose the other itinerary, St. Lucia is very, very lush and tropical.

I did the AOS southern itinerary in March. Aruba is not my favorite island. The beaches are beautiful and the three times I have been there I end up at Eagle Beach for the day. Otherwise it is arid and visually not very pretty.

Curacao is delightful if you like to walk around and shop a bit.

I much prefer the St.Lucia itinerary and Radiance class; I am booked on Serenade in April. Voyager is bigger but,for me,not better.

The people of Aruba are wonderful and friendly, the beaches are the best and there is much to do. The stop in Aruba is usually approximately 15 hours or longer. You will find people running back to the ship because they had so much fun there.

Obviously, I would choose the Aruba itinerary.
