I wanted to find out what time the shuttle begins picking up people from the airport to take to Port of San Pedro, CA . I'm going to be sailing on the Monarch but wanted to see what to expect on this shuttle. Is it the same as Carnival's where they make you wait in line for an hour? And will the little old ladies be out there to get you when you get off the plane?

Could you please tell me how much they charge for the shuttle each way?
Thanks, Laurie

Laurie ,

Well from my understanding its $25-$30 one way. You can either have it included with your cruise package or pay when you arrive. I recommend it over a taxi though which will run anywhere from $80-$100 to get to San Pedro Pier.
Your best bet is to have your travel agent book the transfers for you making it smooth sailing from the very beginning. When are you going?

I'm not sure a Taxi will cost $80-100. The trip took about 27 min from LAX to the pier on a big shuttle bus so taking a taxi will cost about $45-50 for a maximum of four, much cheaper than the 25-30 Per person that the cruise shuttle charges. However, it'll be your responsibility to make it to the Monarch on time, as the old ladies and the ship will not wait for you if your flight arrives late.

Another option is Super Shuttle, you can book online or through your travel agent. Twelve of us went on the Monarch last April and at LAX two Super shuttle vans picked us up as soon as we landed. It was about $10 per person each way. Worked out great.

Going again 12/24!

I agree with AJcoast about the taxi price. When we sailed the Monarch in March, it was just over $40 for the ride from LAX to San Pedro for a taxi. If you have 3 or more people in your party, it's worth it to take a taxi. No additional stops and you don't have to wait for them.
