Leaving on the Radiance Sunday and was hoping to upgrade at the pier to an A or the Royal Suite. All have recently sold out.

There are some Bs and three AA Royal Family suites aft. We have an aft D and would like to remain aft.

Will they sell these cabins to just two people or are they priced for at least 4?

Thanks!!

I was given an upgrade to a Cat. B at the pier from RCI on the Voyager a week after 9/11 when they were trying to keep the ships filled. That was my one and only upgrade ever from them. There were only two of us in the cabin, so I can't imagine they wouldn't sell you the upgrade.

Sorry - I wasn't clear at all.

Will they sell the Royal Family Suite to two people? It has two bedrooms and two baths - and apparently a HUGE corner balcony. I thought it might be priced for quad at least.

Thanks again.

Hey all you can do is try for it. What could it hurt to ask? I couldn't even imagine what the upgrade price would be, but whatever it is it would be a heck of alot cheaper than if you booked the cabin to begin with. Or upgrade to the Cat. B. Those are great Suites too.

Good Luck going for it.

Until the RCCL site went kaput, the AAs were priced the same as the Bs. We upgraded in May on the Adventure from a C to an A for $550. I would expect a similar fee for D to B or AA.

It appears that the Royal Family suite is not as nicely furnished as the As and Bs. No marble floors or bathrooms or the nicer furniture. But, it is huge and the available ones are all aft on the corners. Two full baths would be nice when getting ready for dinner.

We really want to try aft. The C that we had in May was aft but we didn't hesitate to upgrade. The A was fantastic.

Will just have to wait and see.

Thanks for your information Ali.

Unless it's changed recently:

The Royal Family Suite's minimum capacity is 4 people. You would most likely have to pay full fare for 4 people, anyone after those 4 people are at the normal 3rd & 4th person rates. Because it's a larger suite and designed to hold up to 8 people, the first 4 people are charged the 1st & 2nd passenger fare.

Have just come back from two weeks on Explorer of the seas. My wife and I upgraded at the pier from an inside cabin on deck 9 to a AA Royal family suite on deck 8. There was just the two of us and no questions were asked. It cost $1000 per week. As you have two bedrooms and two bathrooms you have a lot of wasted space. It would be preferable for just two of you to have a larger single bathroom as we had in a grand suite on the splendour. I would recommend either a grand suite or an owners for just two of you. The AA grade is massive but unless you have a row, why would you need two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Balcony is huge by the way and ours was nicely furnished with a state of the art 5.1 TV/DVD aswell.
