I Cant Sleep Wide Awake GIF by MOODMAN
Telling it like it is! 1:50 A.M. and still wide awake.
I guess that happens to all of us every so often.

So, what have you folks been up to lately? Hope everyone is just busy and not having any other issues.

Our Tigers decided to show the “home fans” what they’re really made of today. They WON….9 to 3 over the Seattle Mariners. They go back to Seattle for the FINAL GAME of the American series on Friday, at 8:08 pm ES/time.
Wouldn’t it be FANTASTIC if the Detroit Tigers won on Friday and actually get into the WORLD SERIES! :clap002:

Mike: A FINAL report on my Cherry Tomatoes. Art picked 9 small ones and said if the predicted FROST doesn’t happen on Thurs night we might get about 6 more and that’s it for this year. It was nice while they lasted!

Art was busy cutting back plants today after his “REQUIRED” hair cut.
He still has days of cutting back to do on the many creek plants. I’ll be trying to do my best on the front of the house and the porch pots.

Lee: You mentioned you and Lu-Ann being the only ones at the dance day.
It made me think about the Arthur Murray dancing studio that recently opened up not far from us. We drive by it and see a lot of people moving about and I ENVY them. Back in our old neighborhood we would go to dinner with one couple and the places we went to had live bands for dancing. Those were the days!
By the way one of the places we went to was where Jimmy Hoffa got kidnapped from and nobody knows where he ended up!

Karen:
How are things down your way? Per the Accu/weather you’re still getting nice warm temp during the day in the 80’s. We were at 63F and on Thursday it we’ll be lucky to get to 60F. Brrr.
I keep forgetting to ask you how Wendy is doing these days? Does she ever travel back to Ohio anymore?

CONTINUED: I pressed the wrong key and almost lost my post. Ha ha

THINGS THAT POP INTO MY HEAD FROM TIME TO TIME:

I was thinking how right about this time Bill would be telling us about his and Rita’s plans to get their plans ready for their Winter vacation down South. I haven’t seen any “chatter” on Facebook latey from Rita. Hope she’s doing okay.

And now that it’s October I remember Dave telling us about the trips to their grocery store and Kathi stocking up on anything PUMPKIN! Funny how things like that pop up about things we use to read on here. Just like when I pass by the Liquor isle at our grocery store and my eye catches
CAPTAIN MORGAN on the shelf. Makes me think of our dear Dave. And there’s HARBOR FREIGHT not far from our house that reminds me of Tony.
They’re missed big time.

Okay, it’s now 3:05 a.m. and I’m going to crawl back into bed and give sleeping another try.
I have to be up and dressed for the alarm company guy that’s suppose to be here between 8:00 - 12 noon! Lucky me.,

Enjoy your THURSDAY all.

It’s early and Kathie can’t sleep so I’m trying to be quiet.
I’ve been a tad tired the past couple of days. My allergies are acting up and they’re “knocking the snot out of me”. Figuratively and literally. I have to watch what I take and how it interacts with my stupid heart meds.
I had a greeting card reminder about that Dave’s birthday would have been coming up. Like you Kathie, that got me to thinking about Dave, Bill and Tony. Then on to Pat and Marcia. Yep, miss ‘em all.
I best be going. My eyes and nose are running and I have to catch them. :)
Good day to Mike and Karen too!

Good morning. I think I got 2 hours sleep. It's going to be a LONG DAY for sure.

LEE: I feel badly that your allergies are kicking you around. And then on top of all that it's FREEZING COLD outside. The furnace is about to get turned on if the temps don't go up really soon! Good day to BAKE SOMETHING and turn the oven on! There was FROST on the grass on the other side of the creek. They don't have all the tree's to spare them of the frost.

I did see that my one neighbor COVERED her Waxed Begonia plants. Good for her to remember to do that. It's the 1st year she has actually had a full display of them after planting them. She usually forgets to water them in the heat of the Summer.

Hope you feel better soon Lee. Get under the covers and don't forget to use VICKS! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Good morning!

Kathie, you should have called me this morning, I was awake around that time as well. I count myself lucky if I can get a solid 6 hours of sleep a night. I usually fall asleep easy enough but always end up making a bathroom trip around 3ish.
Wendy is actually in Ohio now visiting her daughter who lives there. She doesn't drive there anymore, her daughter who lives in Florida drives her.

Lee, sorry your allergies are kicking you around, we have something blooming here that is messing with a lot of folks I know.

Hi Mike!

Barb was scheduled for outpatient surgery for tomorrow for another wound cleaning but the doctors office didn't tell her to stop her Jardience 3 days before the surgery. Luckily she had a pre-op appointment yesterday & they caught the mistake there, it's scary to know she's had 2 other surgeries where her medicine was NOT stopped 3 days before. We are still waiting on a call back to let us know when it will be rescheduled.
Not much else going on around here, it's still to hot to do much outside. Sat. is our work day again at church, then at 11 one of the women's group at church is having their annual tea. I wasn't planning to go but my friend Cookie didn't want to go by herself so I said ok. Catch up with you all later on

Good afternoon. I took an allergy tablet and that seems to have slowed the unwanted side effects. I’m hoping that the light frost we saw will stay the allergens a little bit. Her Royal Highness, Princess Ava of Amherstburg, didn’t get up until 7:30 and wanted her breakfast. Then she expected her early walk. That ship sailed so about 10:00 she went for a shorter walk. Then I got the grass cut. Lu-Ann had her chair yoga so we made it to The Navy Yard for a walk after that.
Darned good thing somebody was paying attention on Barb’s behalf Karen. Hope there were lots of snacks at The Church Tea.
Lu-Ann is up reading most nights at 2:30 Kathie. All of you should have a “midnight chat group”. The Blue Jays are moving on in the MLB American Division having disposed of The Yankees.
Hi Mike. A little cooler than you’d like I suspect.
Enjoy this fine day everyone.

Good hearing from you Karen. I can imagine how disappointed Barb is that the procedure had to be cancelled. Hope they can re-schedule soon and get all this over with for her and you.
It's 55F here at 6:49 pm Thursday.... wish we had your problems about being too hot Karen. Nice that Wendy is visiting in Ohio. Does she live in the house where your Dad lived?

Don't over due it at the church on Sat in the heat.

Lee: Excellent idea taking the allergy pill. Your nose will be grateful and you'll save on tissues.

Art has to be at the big Hospital at 8:30 A.M. Procedure is at 10:30 A.M. if he doesn't get pumped for any emergency cases.
He'll be flat on his back for 2 hours and then they'll let us know if he can be discharged or if they will keep him overnight.

We have to get up really early because of workday traffic. It's about a 45 min ride on a NON-BUSY day and with work traffic it might take 1 hour 15 mins. Better to get there EARLY than LATE.

Hello to Mike & Fay! Stay warm down there in OHIO.

BIG GAME tonight at 8:30 pm in Seattle. Hope they can be as good as yesterday's game. 9 - 3.

I'll try and stop in sometime tomorrow and give you a update on Mr Artie. :emoticon 0109 kiss: :sign bye:

Safe travels to you and Art tomorrow morning Kathie. I hope that after a couple of hours you’re both on your way home.
Just barely over 50F at 9:10. The weather guessers are saying it could feel like 37F in the morning. I hope Miss Ava will be happy going in the yard and having her Navy Yard walk when it gets a tad warmer!
You all, Kathie, Karen and Mike have a good night.

Not a creature was stirring. Well, except me.
The day is starting a little warmer than they thought. I thought Ava might have been up for our early walk. I’m still the only one up and about. Staying in bed isn’t a new trick this old horse seems to be able to master.
Sending good thoughts Art’s way for his test Kathie.
You good folks all have an excellent Friday.

Hi gang:
Art went to the operating room at 10:50am.
1:00 pm Got a call from nurse in OR/rm that all is going good. He has about another hour. Then he has to lay on his back for 1 hour, get up to walk and then lay down for another hour and walk again. After he “pee’s” he’ll be able to go home as long as he feels good. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
I’m getting a lot of reading done.
I went to the Starbucks here and got a Pumpkin Latte. It was just “so-so”. Too sweet. And too expensive too :D

Okay, I need to check back in with the waiting room receptionist.

Later gang!

Just checking in to see if we had any word about Art. We do. Sounds like all is well.
Happy New Year Vintage GIF

…and the peasants did rejoice.
That post showed up Mike. As long as all is well at your end that is what matters.
Hugs to you Karen.

Fay took me to the eye doctor, (opthomologist) ????? today, I have double vision and macular degeneratioln and I wanted them to look at my eyes. They ran a bunch of tests but didn't tell me an;ything I did'nt know. We were there 2 hours and I got a new prescription to get new glasses. The doctor thinks it will take care of my double vision.
Is anyone still getting the pictures??????
I hope Art is home by now and feeling okay and at home.
Lee, the old grey horse he aint what he used to be.
I hope this posts.

That post showed up Mike. As long as all is well at your end that is what matters Thanks Lee.

Hi GANG. Well, all the good wishes for ART WORKED. He's doing fine this morning. Doctor mentioned he really needed to get his "Electrical Circuits" adjusted! :emoticon 0104 surprised: He slept well and is SOMEWHAT listening to the instructions about NOT lifting or going down steps, etc. He can't take a shower until Tuesday morning! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme::rolleyes: Good thing he won't be biking for the entire week! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

I'm waiting for the ALARM company to come and figure out why the alarm is not working! I think it's the back up battery, but what do I know.

Well, that was one HISTORY making OVERTIME baseball game last night. 15 INNINGS! I gave up at the beginning of the 14th inning!! TIGERS tried their best, but ran out of good PITCHERS after awhile and LOST. At least they got into the longest overtime playoff game in history.:clap002:

Mike: Sure hope the new glasses prescription does the trip for the double vision. As much as you'd like to have 2 of "FAY" to look at it's not easy to have double vision. Meanwhile, be very careful walking around.

Lee: Should be a nice, although slightly chilly, day to go to Navy Park.

Karen: Thanks for the prayers for Art. Seems even a athletic biker that does 30+ miles three times a week can have heart issues. Let's hope this procedure and the next Loop Monitor they will insert under his chest skin in November will keep Mr Artie running like the Every Ready Bunny! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

BIG HOME GAME at Michigan State Univ today. GO GREEN!!

Enjoy your day! Let's hope Sparty has a good day!

ALARMS Do NOT Work when the small transformer box that is plugged into a WALL SOCKET falls OUT! DUH!!
It's plugged into a socket halfway across the one side of the basement from the terminal box.
The service man said our system is SO OLD if it was anything more than what it was he never saw a system like this. Well, it's 34 years old fella. Ha Ha. We'll keep it until it doesn't work. He said the new ones can be turned on and off from your phone. Big deal. I like walking into the house and hearing the ARMED SOUND and letting me UN-ARM it manually.

Okay, GAME TIME. Jill and her gang got tickets to the game at Michigan State Univ and are there now. Lucky that it's a nice day for football.

I'll be going over to check on Manny. I can use the break from any type of major THINKING ISSUES. It was a busy, but productive, week to say the least.

Well, I’ll keep this short ‘cause it’s a long story.
But first up…GREAT news about Art’s results. I reckon being an electrician he may try to adjust his own circuits. ;)
I hope those new specs help with your vision Mike. Yes, I’m still seeing pictures and birthdays.
OK, here’s my story…
We decided to cancel our Bell land line. It used to be that all the power everywhere could go out but the land lines still worked. Plus 911 emergency service never used to be able to pinpoint your position. Now new home phones are connected to the modem that goes out when the power goes out. 911 can triangulate your cell phone and find you.
Anyway, the customer service person didn’t even try to convince me to keep the land line. He advised it would be done within minutes yesterday afternoon.
Fast forward to this morning…the modem is off line and we have no TV, no internet. No home phone either which was OK. I wait until 8:00 and from my cell phone I ring Bell. I provide the order number for the land line cancellation to the rep. She then does the “OOPS” song and dance and talks me through a number of steps to get the modem back on line with internet and tv service. As I’m following her direction I can hear her typing away at her end. No doubt enhancing what I’m doing at my end. Anyway, all’s well that ends well and we’re back up and running. Without the land line.
So, there ya have it. You all enjoy the rest of the day.

LEE: Don't you just love when things GO WRONG and you have to do all the calling to get things up and running again.
GOOD JOB getting things working again so fast.
I just want to know how any of us used to get all these things done while we held down jobs!
:emoticon 0104 surprised: No need to answer that. We were younger and didn't have all the gadgets we have these days!

Michigan State Univ forgot to come to the game to play today. They LOST big time. Oh well, at least I got to spend the afternoon with Manny.

Karen: If you read this and go to church, please say a prayer for all of us!

Out of here.
