Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Guess we are not in the rain zone as yesterday and today have been warm and sunny. Certainly not going to complain about that. Hope the dry weather holds out through our cruise but this area does need some rain so perhaps it can occur while we are away.
Back home schools are closing and people are being recommended to stay inside if at all possible due to the bitter cold forecast.

Went to our third movie in less than a month - far fewer than we have gone to over the past two years. This one was the "80 for Brady" that Rita wanted to see. Again we were almost the only people in the theater but this time our friends Rich and Dianne went as well. At slightly less than $5pp, it was a way to spend a couple of hours, but I don't expect to see it on any list for Academy Awards next year. After the movie, the four of us went to the restaurant at the Vero Beach Airport for dinner. We arrived just as the inaugural flight of Breeze Airways arrived from Hartford, CT and we watched as all the passengers still wearing their winter clothes entered the terminal building where the restaurant is located.
I guess I have to root for the Eagles, Dave and Art, since, as I have previously mentioned, I am not a big fan of Mahomes or Andy Reid.
Just learned that my prescription which was dropped off at the local Walgreen's on Tuesday will be ready for pickup on Monday, after 3 pm. Seems that the Januvia had to be ordered from their warehouse in Orlando. Not sure why it takes a week to get a delivery from a location about two hours away but my recent experiences with this Walgreen's pharmacy have not made me a fan.
After the movie

Pat, you weren't kidding when you said the temps would drop after the rain came thru, enough of this chilly weather nonsense, I'm ready for spring!!

Bill, how was the movie 80 for Brady? The previews make it look cute, but not sure if I've already seen the best parts in the previews

Forgive us Momma Bunny for we have sinned. OK, we took our friends Pam and Steve to True Blue this afternoon. Steve and I are both members of “The Zipper Club” (heart procedures). They had a great time and told Howard and Fatima they’d be back next year. We told them we’d see them next week. We were going to go to Lake Ridge but with the rain we took them in the other direction. A pitcher of “crazy good”, some Cuban’s and Reuben’s and lots of laughter made for a fine afternoon.
Temps here dropped by about 11 degrees as the rain passed through to Karen.
The funny part Bill would be if all those Breeze pax dressed the same way to go home. Or would they be in shorts and T-shirts forgetting it’s cold up home. Eagles, eh? Hmmm.
Best feed Ava. After lunch at True Blue I don’t see a big dinner in my future.

And just like that it’s morning. Well it will be when the sun comes up.
As chilly at 49F as it is here this morning it is nothing like the 0F at home. But by Tuesday it is supposed to be the start of a string of days in the mid 40’s.
That’s just got to be super frustrating with the title thing Karen. And it’s only made worse when you don’t get called back. Poor Scooter being on the medicine merry-go-round.
That always puzzles me too Bill. How can something two hours away take days to get to you. But if you order something on Amazon it can be there the next day.
Not sure what we’re up to today.
You all have a fantastic day and we’ll see you later.

Good Saturday morning, Bunnies.

(Now get that song out of your head.)

It's nice to hear KC that the bank is ready to close on your loan. Now all you need to do is to get the lawyers and government to get their paperwork for your deed in order.

Sorry K2 that your sundae with potato chips on top isn't to your liking. But here's something to try with chips; Anything that you normally put crackers into, like chili or soups. And, your banking story is?

I agree with you BB that Lee should write something about visiting Disney properties. How's this for a title; "A Canadian's Guide to Visiting the 'Happiest Place on Earth'."

Thanks for the picture, Lee. You and your drinking buddies.

Downtown Massillon is typical of many small towns. Three or four story brick buildings used by businesses that are right up against each other. Well one of those businesses had a fire which made the building structurally unsound. So they needed to spend the last week tearing it, and one of the 2 stores next to it down. There's been pictures of it in the paper, but we're going down there this morning to snoop in person.

Figures, it's on the main drag through town.

Oh yea, It's "Ice Cream For Breakfast Day". I've already done my duty with one of those mini Blue Bunny chocolate ice cream cones.

Good morning! Bright sunny day here today, a little cool but not terribly cold, as Mr Rodger's would say, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Lee, nice pic of you & LuAnn with your friends! I remember that crazy good wine from our Bunny get together at Pat's.

Kathie, come on, don't keep us in suspense any longer, tell us the banking story, did some long lost rich uncle leave you gazillions of dollars?

Dave, have fun checking out the demolition site downtown, just don't get to close. Love those mini cones, just the right size for a treat!

Today is my turn to get a hair cut, Jane is coming over later for me to do her taxes & cut my hair. Then I'm fixing shepherds pie for lunch.
Will probably work on my taxes next week, for once I "should" have some money coming back. I closed out a CD last year that wasn't making any interest at my Publix credit union & transferred it to Discover, to avoid any potential penalties I had them withhold the 10% tax, nearly $1,000. According to my rough estimate I should get about $600 of that back and even sweeter my new CD has earned almost 3x what it was earning before so I've more than covered the early withdrawal penalty.
Enjoy the day all!

Wow, Lee & Dave you two sure do get up early! I think I was just turning over for the first time around 6:00 am!
18F Here right now and getting a heat way this afternoon of getting into the 20’s! Next week we get to mid 40’s! Thank goodness.
Sorry about your drop on temps and rain in the SUNSHINE STATE! o_O

Dave: Thanks for the “Song”! I’m trying doing my beat to get it out of my head.
When you got the hair cut did you get the beard cut or is that gone?

Lee: Love the True Blue picture. You all look fantastic! But then who wouldn’t have some good wine and a Cuban sandwich. Things look just like I remember them in the background. Did they have other patrons in the place while you were there? I would love to be there when the Pizza Oven is fired up!
The BANKING STORY before I forget.

So, I was doing errands and had a $5.92 cent check that the local hospital sent us for overpayment of a Co-Pay from April of 2022! Yes, it sure took them long enough to discover their error. Ha ha. Anyway, I saw a bank the we deal with miles away from our neighborhood one and decided to pull in and use the drive-up banking machine. I didn’t have my checkbook number with me and since it wasn’t my usual bank I thought I’d send my License and ATM card in the TUBE with the check so they knew I actually had an acct with the bank.
I had both cards and the check in my hand and pushed the button to get the TUBE area opened. The plastic shield goes down and I grab the TUBE. Every bank has a different type of drive-up machine with the TUBE.
I OPEN the TUBE and put in the check and my License and realize that the ATM CARD is not there! Like where the heck can it be? I stick my head out the window and look down on the cement and No Card. I open the door….No Card. I pull over to the side and get out of the car and look all around thinking the WIND might have grabbed it. NOPE. Then I get into the car and go towards the front of the bank bldg to get into the sunshine and start looking between the seats and under them. Push the seat all the way back on both sides. No Card. I go BACK around to the area I was at and see that the machine has a slot where the plastic glass goes up and down.

It had to have dropped into that slot!
I go into the bank and a nice lady listens to my story. I asked if they had the key to that drive-up box. No, but she wanted to go outside and see it for herself. Yikes….it’s freezing out there and yet she wanted to go and see! Bless her.
I meet her outside and she said it could very well be in there.
It would take a week to get somebody from bank maintenance to come out to unlock the box. It also would take a week to get a NEW CARD mailed out. I opted for the new card.

So that’s my BORING BANK STORY. Not as drastic or involved as Bill’s bank issue. So for now I will just use Art’s ATM card and his PIN number until my new card arrives.
I’m just over-joyed that it wasn’t my drivers license that went missing. Getting a new one of those wouldn’t be as easy.

Okay, sorry that was so long, but it’s hard to tell a story on here in just a few words. The cartoon picture almost tells what happened to my card. ALMOST. Ha ha.

We have a Michigan State Univ Basketball game at Noon! GO GREEN!
You all have a nice day.

Good morning. We are almost at our high for the day, it is 70 right now and supposed to get to 72. It is very overcast but I don't think we are supposed to get any rain.

I plan on cooking a Prime rib for dinner tonight, just have to find the weight so I can figure how long to cook. Will also fix baked potatoes with it.

Today is the first weekend for NASCAR. Tomorrow is a non points race, which last year they moved to the
Coliseum in LA. they have to add dirt and black top to make a 1/4 mile track. And of course they cover a lot of the seats so it looks like a real full stands. At least after this weekend there is only one weekend between this and the real start.

All have a great day.

Dave: I googled your Massillon Newspaper and nothing about the DOWNTOWN FIRE yet. Hope they rebuild to match up with the other building on the street.
Nancy: Enjoy the races.

Don't know whether to say a late good morning or an early good afternoon. It's just going to depend on when I get this post finished.

Dave - Ice cream for breakfast - every kid's ideal breakfast!! ALmost as good as eating chocolate cake or pie for breakfast. LOL

Lee - As soon as I saw the picture, I knew you were at True Blue. We were there a few weeks ago, so now we're even. Looking forward to seeing you next Friday.

Kathie - Glad your banking story had a sort of happy ending. Glad it wasn't your driver's license either. That would have been a real pain.

Karen - Nice that you and Jane have a great plan for today. Would you believe, I have never had shepherd's pie? I've often wanted to make it, but for one reason or another, have not gotten around to it. One of these days though ...

Nancy - You are very ambitious making prime rib. Will it be just for you and Bruce? Good for you!

Bill - Lucky you to have not gotten any rain yesterday. How are the temps today? It was much cooler here this morning, but will make it into the mid 70s this afternoon before once again cooling off tonight. So you never did tell us how you liked that movie. What we see in TV commercials makes it look pretty funny.

Missy & 2 of the kids came over last night for the mussels. Wesley was coming later. Well by the time Nate and Jennifer got into them, Missy let Wesley know that the mussels were all gone. Bert had wanted to get 10 lbs more but I told him that we had enough. Boy, was I ever wrong!!

I think we are going to go out for dinner tonight, but so far haven't made up our minds as to where. I think DiCarlo's is going to win!! But for right now, it's time to make some lunch for myself - waffles!! Just in the mood for that today. I don't want to ruin my appetite for tonight.

Have a good one, everyone, and stay warm wherever you are.

Ha! Good early afternoon wins!!!!

A beautiful afternoon here.
I’m, well Ava and I, are the only ones up that early.
We went for a nice walk in Celebration this morning. Then to The Springs for Blaze Pizza for lunch. As busy as it was in the parking garage I headed right to the front row where there’s always parking spots because nobody figures there will be any. Another “tip“ if you visit.

We were the only four at True Blue yesterday. As usual Howard kept us entertained. He was firing up the pizza oven later on so Steve was enjoying watching that and chatting. When we first went in I ordered a pitcher of Crazy Good. “How’d you know about that?” was Howard’s question.
Your local paper sounds like ours Dave. Stuff usually hits the paper within a couple of weeks.
Will the bank let you know if they find your card Kathie?
A good feast of mussels was had by just about everyone Pat. Poor Wesley. I guess if ya snooze ya loose. We did waffles at breakfast!
Canadian taxes at due the end of April. The forms are pretty simple. “How much did you make?” “How much tax was withheld?” “How much do you have left?” “Send it.”
So this 1/4 mile artificial track is kinda just pre season testing to break in the cars Nancy?
See you later everyone.

Pat, yes the prime rib is just for the two of us. And it is really easy to fix. Set it out to get to room temp., if you want rub with butter and spices, start it at 500 for 15 minutes then turn the oven down to 325 for up to 15 per pound, I will do 1 hr 35 minutes and that will give us a nice medium rare. This one is almost 7 pounds so we will get at least 3 meals from it.

Lee, this race started out as a race for the previous years winners but now it is almost everyone. The only good thing about where they are having it is that they have heat races so not everyone does get in. They decided to move it from Daytona as pretty much not that many people were going, which I can understand but they should have just moved it to one of the real tracks in the country. It looks like this year they have covered more of the lower seats than last year. For a few years we would go to it when it was in Daytona and I will say that most years it was COLD, but very enjoyable.

Nothing much to gab about this morning.

But I can tell you one thing; I'm getting really irritated by all the advertisements between, and sometimes inserted in, posts.

Are they hoping to get an accidental click on them?

And so, Captain Grumpy is now going back to bed.

I was wondering there Captain if you made it down town yesterday? Will Kathie be posting any pics? You know, in between the ads. We still have a few “heritage” blocks in The Burg. Ayr‘s down town was all the kind of buildings you described.
Do you think the lower seats are covered out of safety concern if a car were to go off Nancy? I saw that Clint Bower said NASCAR is better than anything F1 can bring to the US. Well, maybe cheaper tickets. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Two ‘dillos and two bunnies on our walk this morning which, like last night, was illuminated by a full moon.
Be good folks. I’ll see you all later.

Good morning. Dinner last night was real good. Made mashed potatoes with it.

Lee, for this track yeah covered a bit for safety but since the cars are not going that fast it is more because they know they can't completely sell out the race. They do it at established tracks as well, not being able to sell out. A lot has to do with all the changes NASCAR has made to the cars. As to what Clint said I agree, the few races of F1 I have seen they have all been follow the leader and that happens a lot with Indy cars as well. I think a lot has to do with the style of cars where as even if one driver in a NASCAR race is the leader for all or most of the race you will have a lot of passing by other cars in and for almost all races the leader changes a few times at least.

It was raining when I got up and still raining. Temp is supposed to get to 78 so will see, right now it is 69. And the rain is supposed to last all day.

All have a great day.

Whatever rain we missed the other day, we are getting this morning and the temperatures are in the 60s instead of the mid to high 80s we just saw.
I thought I mentioned that I was not enamored of the Brady movie. Rita liked it but I thought it was dumb and the best scenes were footage of the actual Super Bowl game. None of the trailers for upcoming films inspired me to pay even the $5 ticket fee that the theater is now offering. There was one about a group of older women deciding to ditch their boring everyday lives by taking a trip to Rome. Looked very much like a similar storyline to 80 for Brady. Think I will pass but perhaps Rita and Dianne can go to see it.

Good morning, everyone! Cloudy here, but no rain. It's only a very few degrees below the expected high of 71, but I doubt we will ever get to that at this rate. All the rain is over the east coast side of the state, so we're in the clear.

Lee - Nice that you got to see some of our regional wildlife this morning. Is there water anywhere near you? If there is, you might also have to watch out for gators in the early morning hours. That's when they get hungry. Just saying ...

Dave - Thanks for sharing the newspaper article about those buildings being torn down. It really has to be hurting other business in the area. So did you and Kathi go and check it out for yourselves?

Nancy - Glad your dinner worked out well. Plus having leftovers for more meals is always a good thing.

Bill - I see you just popped in. I figured that 80 for Brady was much more of a chick flick. I do like all the actresses in that movie. I'll wait for it to hit Netflix before I see it. Stay dry down your way.

We ended up going to DiCarlo's for dinner last night and it was all so delicious. We had run into the owner of DiCarlos at Restaurant Depot the other day. She was there buying the same thing as us - mussels. She goes there 3-4 times a week to make sure she gets lots of fresh ingredients. She ended up stopping and talking to us last night for a good half hour. I'm sure the other patrons were wondering what was going on. Finally some of her family arrived for dinner, so she left us. Good thing too because our dinner came out about 3 minutes later. As usual, my chicken arm was so great and the garlic bread was to die for. I've got some chicken parm leftover plus another whole loaf of the garlic bread.

I think tonight is going to be salmon with fettuccine alfredo. I'll make enough to last for 2 nights.

Now it's time to read the newspaper. After having waffles this morning for breakfast, I think this will be a good day to skip lunch. Have a super Sunday, everyone!

Good afternoon!

Pat, it must have been a waffle kind of day, I made waffles this morning too after I got home from church. Can't believe with all the cooking you do for your gang you've never made shepherds pie! Actually mine if "cottage pie" as I use ground beef not lamb. It turned out pretty good yesterday too!

Dave, thanks for posting the article on the fire for us. Hope you were able to get a few more winks in this morning!

Kathie, oh my goodness, that was quite a bank story! So glad it wasn't your drivers license that went "down the tube!" That would not have been cheap to replace.

Lee, that moon was really bright last night! I woke up once during the night & noticed this light coming from the bathroom & was trying to figure out what the heck it was, it was a soft glow, so I knew I hadn't left the bathroom light on, finally figured out it was the moon shining in thru the skylight. The frosted plexiglass over the opening softened it just enough to confuse me, course at 3:30 am that doesn't take much!

Nancy, your prime rib dinner sounded good, even though I'm not a huge fan of it. The few times I have ordered it I always ask for an end piece because I like mine more well done than they usually cook it.

Bill, sounds like I'll pass on the 80 movie too, I kind of had a feeling it wouldn't be all that great.

Got Jane's taxes done yesterday, she was bummed, she owed $2 in taxes! Oh well, it could have been a lot more. Got my hair cut & it turned out good as usual.

Did my taxes this afternoon & my figures on what I projected to owe were pretty close, will be getting a refund of almost $700, that won't happen again but it was better than owing & possibly having to pay a penalty because of the CD cash out. I'll probably get it just in time to pay my house insurance which went up from $1,590 to almost $2,800! I am going to call them Monday & try to knock it down a little, but I doubt it will go down to much.
Weather here isn't to bad so I think I am going to go chill on the back porch for a while, enjoy your Sunday gang!

For any of you Florida night owls there is a Rocket launch tentatively scheduled for 9:32 pm tonight, the time has been pushed back several times already today so I'd say the odds might not be in favor of a launch, but just in case I thought I'd let you know
