Promenade staterooms

I just realized we can have TWO promenade staterooms (we're a family of four) for LESS than one balcony cabin. Though I was looking forward to evenings gazing out at the sea, the spaciousness of two cabins is looking pretty good to me. Can anyone make any suggestions about these cabins? We MUST have connecting cabins because we'll be putting children in one of them. These rooms are found on three decks -- is it better to be on 6 so that you're "close to the action" of the promenade, or is it too noisy?

However, I don't believe any of them are "connecting".

Noise is not an issue. We were on Deck 6 (6311) and heard nothing (on the Explorer).

There are some adjoing cabins. You can check a deck chart for yourself or I can tell you if you are in one if you tell me which ship and cabin numbers. There are 8 sets of adjoing cabins just on Deck 7 of the Navigator, for example.

Warning. We chose a Promendate guarantee. They upgraded us from that to Deck 2, port hole, ocean view. How nice! I wasn't happy and made them switch us back to a Promenade cabin.

When it comes to real activities on the Promenade, it is more fun to be down there in the action (parades and such) than watching from your Promenade cabin. Even with the crowds!

We have had two Promenade cabins for our family of four each time we have been on the Voyager-class ships. Have sailed the EOS, NOS and MOS and will be on the VOS in October. They do have adjoinng cabins, and they book quickly.

One word on location >> The Promenade cabiins that are in the aft-most area of these cabins are actually beyond the end of the Promenade. The numbers are: 6301-6311, 6601-6611, 7301-7311, 7601-7611, 8301-8311 and 8601-8611. They are still O, ut the view of the action on the Promenade, like the parades, is limited the higher the cabin number is.

Thanks for the replies! I'm thinking that two connecting rooms in the "blocks" that include 6553-6563 and 6253-6263 would be perfect for us. If I am reading the map right (looking at those two-way arrow thingies), these seem to be connecting cabins. They're close to the elevators. Cafe Promenade is one flight down, and a bar is two flights down. The pool is just outside the elevators a few decks up.

Can anyone verify that I'm making a good choice here?

Yes, these cabins adjoin and they are in good locations to see activities happening on the Promenade. I didn't see your cruise date, but there is a good chance if it is in the next 6 months these cabins are already booked.

No, I'm sure they're available still because my dates aren't yet open. I'm expecting to make reservations this August for October 2006.

We had on a Promenade room on the Mariner in January. We liked it so much we decided to do it again in October. But we did decide to move up from deck 7 to deck 8 - we wanted to be further away from the action on the Promenade.

One warning.....
You can see directly across the promenade into the other rooms. Our daughter mentioned that 2 old men (she is 18 - not for sure what constitutes old) only kept their sheers drawn and walked up to the window naked..... And they are small but at least you have a window.

It depends what you are looking for. We noticed from deck 7 that it was very easy to see in deck 6 as well as straight across in 7. You saw much less looking up at 8 so we decided to go with 8. As far as the parades, I thought the promenade rooms were the best seats in the house. You could see all up and down the promenade.

Ok, stupid question, but what is different about a promenade stateroom? They have windows to the INSIDE of the ship? Do they have a pomenade and promenade staterooms on the Monarch?

no glo bug they do not have the promenade staterooms that they are referring to on the momarch of the seas, this is something very new. but remember new doesn't always mean better sometimes bigger means getting lost in the shuffle. besides didn't you say you have a balcony cabin on the monarch. nothing is better than that view my friend

Oh, I understand that. I was just curious...I want to explore and get to understand every inch of my first cruise ship, so I was trying to figure out where this would be so I could check them out...
