Hi all. I'm sailing next week on the Paradise (exotic western carribbean). Do I have to bring my passport on the excursions? (I'm concerned about losing it)
No, you don't need your passport when you re-enter Paradise. You will need your S&S card and just in case I had my Driving License (tough never used it).
I left my passport in the cabin safe when I was of the ship.
BUT... just in case, it may be a good idea to carry a photo copy of your passport (just the ID page) on this itinerary. I was on the Spirit in February with a stop in Costa Rica. Before we went, I read on the US State Department website that the Costa Rican authorities had a history of sometimes stopping tourists and asking for this, detaining them if they didn't have some type of proof of citizenship document. Just prior to sailing, this info had been removed from the State Department website, but just the same, we carried photo copies just in case, they're lightweight!
