As the sun sets, the Carnival Pride makes it out of the canal, past the breakwater, and out into the Caribbean Sea.

Once past the breakwater, the ship began to rock and roll pretty good, making it hard to walk in a straight line. It would be like that until we reached Aruba.

Tonight in the Taj Mahal was the comedy and juggling of Side Show Bert. There are no comedy shows in the Butterflies Lounge tonight, but the Carnival Quest will be held there at 10:45.

Patti and I head to the casino for a while before calling it a night. Here are tonight’s turndown service and towel animal……

Coming up next: Another relaxing sea day!
 
At 8:30am we made our way down to the Normandie Restaurant for the Sea Day Brunch. We figured that with the seas so rough there wouldn’t be many people there, but boy were we wrong. The line was fairly long, but it was moving quickly. I had forgotten that with so many veteran cruisers aboard, a little rocking and rolling wouldn’t deter anybody!

After hanging out with Winston for a while, I made my way down to the casino for the blackjack tournament. I entered twice, but could not make enough to make it to the final table.

Patti went to the afternoon session of Bingo but couldn’t cash in. Afterwards she walked around taking some pictures of the artwork in the staircases…..

We both made it to today’s session of LCR, where once again I gave away the winning dollar! Lol. We grabbed a bite to eat at the deli before heading back to the cabin. We found that we had some treats waiting for us…..

We awoke a little bit before 7am, just as we were pulling into the port of Oranjestad, Aruba. It was mostly sunny and quite warm. Here is a view of the terminal buildings from our balcony. The Costa Magica is docked behind us out of view……

In the distance we can see the M/V Freewinds. This vessel is owned by the Church of Scientology and is surrounded by controversy. I’ll say no more, you can look it up……

We didn’t need to eat breakfast on the ship today, since the Barcelo served a breakfast buffet. So, at a little before 9am, Patti and I left the ship. You could tell it was a bit breezy outside, which is normal for Aruba…..

It took us about 15 minutes to reach the Barcelo Aruba. We checked in at the main desk and received our wrist bands. The Lobby area was beautiful…..
