Sorry if this has been discussed berfore. I was going to order an unlimited soda pop card for my dw on the Carnival site, however, the only thing I can find now is a 4 drink coupon for $6.80. Has Carnival done away with the unlimited pop card?

Gary

Nope-- but its been missing for a few months now. When they first took it off I thought they were going to change the price.

You cant pre pay for a soda card anyways. Kids under 12 still get free soda in the dining room only

Thanks (again) Serene for the information. Can you answer me this: Is it cheaper to buy the card, or is pop the same price whether you use a drink coupon or not?

On a 7-day cruise, an adult card is $44. You must buy it while on the ship. Soft drinks are $1.50/glass [only thing you can get with the card]. An individual "drink coupon" buys 1 soft drink.

Thankyou jleg - Guess we will wait until we are onboard. It will still be a bargin. The DW loves her pop!

GAry-- at home I am a soda drinker.. tons too much,..lol

last cruise I took a 6 pack of bottles and gave 4 bottles away to the cabin steward by the end of the week.

Serene -

We will probably end up bringing a 12 pack of Pepsi One - her favorite.- with us It is her morning "coffee". I drink maybe 2 cans of pop a month - and only regular. The diet (all of them) have a nasty after taste that, although everyone says you get used to it, gags me!

We both enjoy the Barley pop (too much at times!).

We have used the soda coupons last cruise. SO needs a soda for dinner so I ordered him enough to get through the week. Coupons are good for one can of soda. Not good for room service.
Soda coupons save you no money--its a stright up transaction. What it does isprepay your sign and sail card only.

So it relly desn't save you any money? May not be worth the hassle to her! Guess we'll have to talk it over. Thanks all for the information!

Somebody above posted: Kids under 12 still get free soda in the dining room only.

I don't think that's true; one pays for the soda in the dinning room.

Sorry, Camelia, but you are incorrect. Children under the age of 12 do NOT pay for their soft drinks in the dining room. This is in the formal dining room only, not Lido buffet area.

Gary, if your DW drinks Pepsi One, she'd need to bring her own. Carnival has ONLY Coke products.

Why do cruise ships charge for soda? I can see them charging for liquor, wine and fresh squeezed juices, but soda, water, coffee and coco should be free.

Its called $$$ generation DiorDoll and MOST likely the same reason some lines now charge for ice cream, etc. =shrug

.

Well, thank goodness Carnival doesn't charge for ice cream. I'd have a huge S&S bill!

Dior - Coffee, decaf, iced tea, hot tea, hot chocolate, milk, skim milk, chocolate milk, lemonade, fruitpunch, juices (not freshly squeezed but from concentrate in machines) are all complimentary beverages on a Carnival cruise. Also available in the formal dining room only - espresso and cappuccino with every meal. Coke products cost the cruiseline more money than do any of the above beverages. And they do serve water, straight from the tap, and it's actually very good.
