Good morning all!!!! Grab a hot cuppa and come on by and chat. Another drippy looking morning out. I accomplished a little yesterday morning then ended up playing on computer most of day. The Duck came through quacking again this morning. I will have to work on house this morning -this afternoon have to attack my desk again. Way too much paper piled up there. I read most things as they come then lay aside to reread another time to make sure I understood the first time correctly. Would really like to go to the city with Billy tomorrow but better I save the money for cruise. I checked on one new cruise yesterday but found all the disabled cabins were gone--probably was for the best this time around. Did find some doable flights out of Branson not as far to drive for us to airport.

Glad so many joined us on ramble yesterday --if you post once don't mean you can't come back later and comment , share or answer a question. Paw's breakfast must be done the smoke alarm is going off.

What is happening in your corner of the sandbox?

Good Morning Maw and Gang,
I was pretty stupid yesterday, I went walking with Pat, that is good, right,,,,,,,,,, NOT, I didn't put socks on with my tennies, game back after 2 miles, with bloody heals.............. now I have to let them heal, couldn't go in the hot tub for the mussels,,, boy was I ever stupid so now I have socks on and I will puts around, won't be able to go out today.Maw, maybe I will work on paper work too..:D

Good morning Maw and ramble gang,

Well, this morning the attic door is shut :grin

This morning it felt a bit more like our normal July weather, the humidity was up. I opened the porch door expecting to be able to leave the air to come in, but it was the kind that you can bite off and chew, so the door was firmly shut.

I went out and picked more of the cherry tomatoes, that poor plant is working itself to death. And that BIG tomato plant in my garden is still growing.

It makes entering through the gate a bit difficult :lol

It is hard to see all the tomatoes on this plant, but I stopped counting this morning when I reached 40.

I treated an ants nest that I saw had come up. Unfortunately fire ants have made their way up here :(

Nita, see..and the other day you said your life was boring :grin
I am doing research for the cruise, reading books and making notes.
If you have not seen any of the Moon travel guides, they are a must.
Full of great and easy to find information.
So that is my plan for today, read, make notes and then enter it into the computer so that I can print it out.

Yesterday I added a lot of great book recommendations from Jo ( Tw1nkles) into my library request list. I can not wait to get them and start reading.
Has anyone heard from Meg? I miss the book report.

I hope that Jan is better today, or that she has gone to see a Doctor

Cyndi... when walking.. think.. "moleskin" I even carry a small amount on a cruise :grin
Now perhaps you can find time to post a couple of pictures of YOUR paintings

.

Good morning Maw and Ramble gang. It's a lot warmer up here this morning too Red....July weather came back LOL.

Maw, I hear you've been teasing our Red yessterday :lol

Red, send some of those tomatoes up my way :grin

Cyndi I am feeling your pain. I dressed casual today and I wore my slip on shoes without knee highs which I never go without at work....well I remember why now. Both of my little toes are getting rubbed raw :(

Jan, I sure hope you are feeling better today!

DD Jenny and the boys stopped over for a little visit yesterday evening which was nice.

That's about all new with me. And I hope everyone has a great day.

Cyndi, did you ever finish that portrait? and when I saw the post about you buying Carnival.. I was imagining you taking the board on a cruise :lol

And Denise.. YES! Maw has been teasing me shamelessly :lol
I would love to send you some tomatoes, each day I have more than what I need. I am resorting to freezing them now :grin Even the Jalapeno peppers are going wild.
yesterday I put rhubarb, peppers and tomatoes on a tray in the freezer, I need to bag them today.

That tomato plant is much bigger than the picture shows. it is taller than me, and must stretch about 4 foot across, and is very full and healthy.. touch wood :lol

Good morning folks. A beautiful day here; sunny and warm but not hot/humid like we usually have in July. The temps are running about 15 to 20* below normal for us & night temps are getting to low 50s making for some really nice sleeping conditions. If we can just keep the rain away for a little while so the ground could dry up things would be just perfect.

Nothing happening here. Off to have some blood work then just the usual laundry, etc. Hope everyone has a good day.

No Red I haven't finished it.... somebody needs to give me a kick ::o

Denise, go get some knee highs at lunch, or beg bower or steal some,, or just don't walk much today, it isn't worth it.

Good morning fellow @ddicts! ! ! Wow is mother nature having fun . . . .I told you how the smoke rolled in . . . .well yesterday about mid-morning the clouds followed and it started raining. Eventually, most of the smoke cleared and then the clouds left and we actually had a nice afternoon that was comfortable and just a bit hazy. Wondering what is up for today . . . . . I don't see the sun shining through the trees, so its either overcast or smoky. Guess we will find out when we head out to work.

Made arrangements yesterday for a repairman to come in and fix the tub in the upstairs bathroom. Don't know how the tenants put a crack like that in the tub. Maybe with one of those handle frames that allow folks to get into and out of a tub easier. In any case, it is going to take a fiberglass patch. Hopefully, that is all it is going to need.

That's it for now, just looking forward to the next cruise for some much needed down time.

Have a great day everyone, and stay safe! ! ! !

Mornin' Maw, Paw & C@ Gang!!

Maw - what was for breakfast today? I had a plain 3 egg omelet as someone told me that if you eat three eggs in the morning you will eat 300 less calories throughout the day because of all of the protein. I'll let you know if it works for me. :thumb

Nieciez - take a kleenex and tear a bit off and wrap it around your toes and tape it with the tape you have at your desk. Or, put a band aid on your toes. Been there, done that! :D

Cyndi - I too had thought, and hoped, you all bought Carnival and were going to take us all for a cruise. :lol

Red - no, have not heard from Meg. I hope she is okay. =hug

Nothing happening here today, getting ready to go make a piece of stained glass. I got the coolest bevels the other day and I am just itching to use one.

I made the gawd awfullest mess for dinner last night. I had all of these veggies cooked up and we've been eating the crud out of them, okay? Well, I thought okay, make Denny an omelet with the veggies and quit being a baby and eat the veggies in the omelet. See, I am a Plain omelet eater. I can have my veggies on the side, but do they really need to be touching my eggs? I think not! :lol Anyway, to make a long story short...I mixed the eggs up, with the veggies, and put it all in the skillet. Well, we had scrambled eggs with veggies in it. I do not know what I did wrong - the eggs would not set up like a normal plain omelet does. The plain omelet I had this morning for my breakfast was picture perfect and could have gone in a food magazine. Last nights dinner was a horrible mess, Denny liked it because when he makes scrambled eggs, that is what his look like, a mess. Anyway, we threw the leftovers away. :D

Ta-ta C@'s!!

Red my dad always raised big tomato plants like that and his tomatos were usually bigger than a hamburger bun. Paw's plants are that tall but we apoparently have a blight as the tomatoes are3 turning black on bottom. Know Dad used to do something for that but can't remember. We also need something for roses as they are getting spots on leaves..

Have my usual load of clothes washing and drying.

My hair has been so flat and lifeless I am trying a new shampoo today hoping for more body. I hat to admit I have ujsed the same shampoo for ever. When I was younger my hair always seemed to be greasy and stringy looking..

Sorry Red did not mean to be mean to you but I really had started dreaming of another cruise sooner--but no Handicap room I could aford available. So I will just have to save up for next year.

Cyndi feel for your feet --my feet have been tender here lately think it is these slip ons wearing around house-they don't have heels though. Just think I grip too hard with my feet.

Guess I have to go work on that bathroom I have been hiding from Later

Good morning! It’s another beautiful day and I have the windows open again.

Yesterday was another wild day at our asylum.

Our 92 year old neighbor takes a beer and goes out to our pond to fish every afternoon. The dock on the pond is two pontoons which are attached to each other. Well, yesterday I went out by the barn to put something in the trash. I looked out at the pond and see our neighbor sitting in his chair, on the pontoon floating in the middle of the pond! He told me that he just floated out there. I found a neighbor to row out and tie ropes to the pontoon. By then a couple other neighbors came home and pulled the whole thing back to shore.

I asked the neighbor why he didn’t holler for help because all my windows were open. His reply, “I was going to yell after I finished my beer.â€Â

I was sure that our boys had something to do with the mishap because they were probably the last ones out there, but DH says that something had rusted and broke. He fixed it so neighbor won’t miss his daily drink.

Have a wonderful day!

=lolgang...............OMG!!!!!! I Have a day off ;woke up refreshed..and Jo that tears it you ARE my sister..in my lifetime..sigh..

I went to YMCA camp every Summer for years for a month..we had a blast!! and did I ever tell you the time we "rowed" the Camp heads table *SET* for breakfast out to a Diving float "..they came in to the Dining Mess.. no table..looked out the window VOILA!!
:grin trouble was "Uncle Ralph" made us row them all out to the table and then serve them there..=eek..
payback....is a BEEP..

DS Vicki called indeed she is en route the circuitous way..via an indoor water park hotel tonight stay, then descend with niece and nephew in tow tomorrow;seeing as she *only* lives 3 hours throw away.. it's fun..I am in mini-Zoom mode, as I am off, must thaw the 25# turkey for Saturday baking, make a Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting..and prepare to be Mimi to DS Stephen 's puppy dog- Bonnie he and GF Heather are bringing Home tomorrow from DC...
he's here with DD Cynthia to attend their Step DS wedding Saturday..and watch their Father cry over the costs of a "white wedding".. :grin I am ROTFLMAO.. as he is not into paying for foo-foo girlie costs things; I mean he is totally disparaging about the "waste costs" of such an event! ,and always has been.....=eek.
and this one is setting him back a chunk *AND* setting the precedent for DD Cynthia's "someday"..
:?:?:?:who says ex's don't get Bad Karma back.. it may have taken 13 years but Whoa Baby I am winning in Spades!!..thing is I really like my Kid's Step Momma and DD they are wonderful ladies.we all get along very well. and he has not clue one!!
DD Cynthia is planning since she is an event planner from the "BIG City"..and has been for years..to be in critique mode.. as for some un -holy reason he did NOT ask for her input to save thousands, and she was..:dizzy.. are you crazy?? ..:(.. well then you best not be whining about costs then...a circus and a zoo....that's what they expect..we are not attending but Heather and Cynthia are to be sure in detail detail lookout.. ...
.so I am truly having a blast with his dilemma!!..it's a Guy thing!!..poor Patrick..that final cost may just send him over the precipice...hehehe...but then again weddings are all for the girls..:)..it *IS* "their day"..:thumb..
I am off today..:dance..working tomorrow ,and then the weekend off.. so I'll be back as it works..prayers for all those in need... :daisy..Joanne

Maw, on the tomatoes..

Blossom End Rot Blossom End Rot is as good a description as any. Symptoms: Dark brown/black spots develop at the blossom end of the fruit and enlarge as the fruit rots. Management: Generally attributed to a lack of calcium during fruit set. This could be caused by too much high nitrogen fertilizer or uneven watering, resulting in fluctuations of nutrient availability. Management: Remove affected fruit and provide regular, deep waterings.

and a great link

Morning all. Wow lots of stuff going on!

Red, Love Fresh Tomatoes. Take 2 pcs wheat bread, toast them, add a very light smear of butter add slices of tomato to one slice and top with the other. Best sandwich in the world!!!

Cyndi, I thought we must be hob nobbing with the ultra rich, you buying carnival and all. ;)

Corky, I like plain eggs best too. I HATE when someone puts cheese on my scrambled eggs - - - grosssssss!! I'd rather just eat a piece of cheese along with toast and eggs - - - - Yummy!

Well, I'd better go now, time for Oscar's pills, then a start on the laundry.

Blister prevention method we used in the Army, especially when breaking in new boots. First put on a pair of calf/knee-high nylons, then the socks. This way, the socks rub on the nylons, not on the skin ..... Viola! No blisters!

I suppose if you're a sailor you'll have to buy new nylons as your issued fishnets won't work. Marine? Your thigh-highs are ok, but you'll have to get your garter belt back from the air farce types......

good morning everyone :wave

just got back from boarding our furbabies. They are boarding in the animal hospital our daughter works at so we know that they'll be well taken care of since she left "specific" directions for each of them :)

Enjoying a quick cup of coffee and then it's time to vacuum the house from all the animal hair, and then get started on the packing... we'll be leaving tomorrow morning at 10 am... glad that it's just a short car ride to the pier ... hopefully we'll be on board by noon :D

10 days of fun & relaxation... we are ready!

Hope everyone has a great day and 10 great days to come :D

Good morning. You are all very active this early in the morning! But no Jan - sure hope she is okay.

We have another lovely day here but it is likely to get very warm later.

Red - your tomatoes are starting to look like a jungle! Our tomato plants are getting quite large. They are in a spot that is too far away for me to check. But I am sure ready to start eating fresh ones.

Have a nice day.

Liz

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, I got a lot done last night – Jim golfed and I got laundry done, cleaned house, hung new curtains and still had time to play on Facebook! lol

Found a lot of high school buddies on Facebook – can you believe we are planning our 40 year class reunion for 2012 – Of course I suggested a cruise reunion – who wants to go back to the town they grew up in 40 years ago? lol So, we will see how far that gets!

Well, the golf season is under way and I am again trying to get the girls to do something while the guys golf – man it is like pulling teeth. I just don’t understand them sometimes – they would rather sit at home and do nothing. Not me - - I guess I am like my mom. She used to say, “She never missed a trip – even to the grocery storeâ€Â! lol Gotta love that woman’s attitude!

Actually saw my son (Jason) posting on FB last night so chatted with him for a few minutes – they are so excited about their cruise next Feb and almost more excited about cruising out of New Orleans – it will be his wife’s first cruise and first time to New Orleans!

Weather here is so so again – actually nice day and of course I am at work! 85 degrees and sunny. Supposed to rain tomorrow and be so so this weekend.

My tomatoe plants don't look that good! Only have two plants - have a few tomatoes - but nothing like Red's.

Herb - you have a great trip - look forward to seeing them photos when you return.

Well, gotta run back to work – they actually expect me to work for my pay and lord knows I don’t want to loose the vacation fund – so I better work.

Hope you all take care – have a great day and be careful!
