Lido/buffet hours-dinner

Anyone aware of the current hours for dinner?
 
On all the ships that we have been on over the last few months -- the Lido dinner has been from 5:30 - 8 PM -- and everything is now ALL buffet.

And I have heard a lot of complaints about the food not being hot -- being mushy -- and no trays to get everything back to the table.

The open dining feature on the lower level of the dining room is from 5:15 - 9 PM. You can make reservations for 2 days at a time.
 
So I have a question...if the hours are 5:30 - 8 in the Lido for dinner....does that mean that the buffet totally closes down at 8 pm and then doesn't reopen until morning?

I've not sailed Hal, but I thought buffets, in general, stayed open 24 hrs, sometimes with very limited food, but 24 hours nonetheless.

Corky from what I recall from the Noordam the buffet closed at 8:00 pm SHARP. The crew wanted to go home, long drive and traffic :). I have never experienced faster clean up service than we did that night we ate there.

CRS if it opened later for snackies or anything of that sort. Room service is an option.

Things change faster on cruise lines than I typo so who knows what they will do tomorrow.

HAL does not keep a buffet open 24 hours a day on any ship.

There is a snack time -- little food -- from 11 PM until Midnight.

Or you can order from room service:

Available 24 hours:

Smoked Atlantic Salmon - pickled red onion, capers & cream cheese

Mesclun Garden Greens - tomato, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts & blue cheese crumbles

Triple Decker Club Sandwich - sliced turkey, ham, bacon, tomato & lettuce served on toasted bread of your choice

All American Hamburger - broiled 1/4 pound beef patty on a sesame bun with dill pickle & coleslaw - add cheddar or Swiss cheese

Open faced Omelet - ham & cheese or vegetables

Selection of assorted cheese with crackers

Apple tart with whipped cream

Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce

A plate of chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk

Fruit salad - selected fruits in season
 
Thnx Suer and KK. I'll just start with the 1st two items on the room service menu and work my way down "if" I get hungry after 8/8:30. :D

Suer - this is straight from the person in charge of dining matters on Veendam. The Lido is open for DINNER from 5:30 to 8:30pm. And it IS strictly buffet - no more table service - as KK pointed out. There are no more trays in the Lido on the ships (plural) either.

"As You Wish" dining on the Lower Level of the Dining Room is 5:15pm to 9:00pm on Veendam.

Again, this info comes directly from the person in charge of Veendam.

Reservations Required: Yes Fixed dining does not require a reservation. Also the open seating does not require a reservation unless you choose to do so -- you can make reservations for 2 nights at a time from 5:15 - 6:15 and from 7:30 - 9 PM. The time in between -- no reservations.
