Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

I have never been seasick on a cruise before. We always use as patch to be safe.

But I was seasick on a smaller boat once when we were taking diving lessons. The only way I found to feel better was to just go ahead and throw up....then get into the water for the dive. The feeling goes away once you are underwater.

We also were on one cruise during a tropical storm. We had the patch, so we were fine but the majority of people were sick as dogs. Lots of throwing up went on; and I doubt that the first-time cruisers ever went back on another one. First time I had ever seen people that actually looked green!!!

Question: Why do you consider a cruise the best way to vacation?

Oh. that's an easy one...sometimes you can spend as little as 90 bucks a day. It's by far the economical way to travel.

feeling this is an important question to ask..

So why do you feel cruising is the best way to go?

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

My favorite answer to why cruising is the best way to go:

Because you can leave your wallet/purse in the room! All ya need is your sail 'n' sign. The other reason cruising is the best: when you're traveling with a group of people you don't have to have hour-long arguments about where to eat every night. AND, you don't have the hassle of having to get a taxi every time you wanna go somewhere!

My question: What's the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you while cruising (mine involved a Marilyn Monroe-type halter dress and a huge gust of wind)

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

That's easy for me! my first Carnival Cruise in 2001, on the Sensation, our last stop was New Orleans. Well we went to Pat O's.......needless to say I was introduced to the Hurricane! (I don't normally drink much)......It was so good....after I was half finished I read the napkin with how much booze was in it!!! I thought , OH NO I'M DONE FOR!!! and I was! We (4 girlfriends) made another stop and had another hurricane.......when we got on the ship we enjoyed another.......and another.........well I didn't remember anything after the 3rd ROFL But I was fine and at the party that night at 10 pm! I'm still not sure what I did between 7 and 9 pm but my friends assure me I was well behaved LOL......

Question: When we book a cruise we all know there's a formal night or two, why is it such an issue with some people?

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

Good question. I can't really say why Formal Night causes such panic. I've been reading lots of threads about this over the last 2 months. It seems there is a core group (admittedly mostly men) who seem to feel the same about both Formal Nights and dental root canal.

One guy asked and was told that appropriate dress was a tux or suit or at the very least a sport coat and white shirt. He proceeded to argue over and over that he should be able to wear whatever he wanted and not be made to feel left out. He was upset that the other thread postings weren't able to redefine reality.

I feel a lot of sympathy for the wives who post about their DH's unwillingness to at least wear a tie. One woman was actually resigned to going to the Captain's Dinner alone even though she would have a live husband nearby. He probably spent that time eating pizza on the Lido deck.

True, this isn't the 1950's where men had to dress up for work, dates, school and most other things. However a grown man today should own at least one decent suit, a white shirt and at least 2 ties without any major food stains on them. How do these guys look at weddings, funerals and job interviews?

Question: Do many women resist Formal Night dress codes?

I've seen a few women dressed casually on formal night; on both Carnival and RCL.

Question: Why do questions about "formal night" keep coming up?

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

I think it comes up because there is a new influx of first time cruisers... people like we all were once... and they dont know all the ropes yet... so I think people should try to be more patient with some of the repetitive questions...

Question : What was your most FAVORITE port and why ??

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

I think the reason that formal night keeps coming up is for 2 reasons,1) that people just DO NOT want to be bother with dress up on vacation or anytime for that matter. 2) The confusion as to what formal night means on each cruise line.

Favorite Itinerary: Southern ... so far our favorite ports, St. Thomas and Barbados, were on the Southern sailing, while we also did St. Thomas on an Eastern sailing. We're back to these two, plus Aruba on our next Southern sailing in October, and I expect Aruba to be another favorite island.

What's your favorite cruise ship casino game and why?

Well I don't go in the casino to gamble, only did for a minute and played one slot machine. Although I love blackjack! Just cause I have luck most of the time with that LOL.

Yes, I have meet and kept in touch with people I met on my cruise in 2002. It was the Rusty Wallace cruise and I met quite a few fellow fans who I have kept in touch with thru e-mail and snail mail since then. We will all be meeting again this Dec for another cruise.

I would love to go on a fitness cruise. A celebrity that I would go on a cruise with would have to be Michael Bolton.

Question: What is your favorite activity or entertainment on a ship? (Las Vegas Style Shows, Casino, Karaoke, Dance clubs etc..)

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

Hubby and I love the whole promenade, we're people watchers when we're relaxing and this is the best place to do that.

For scheduled activities, give us a piano bar, a sing along joint and we're good for a few hours. Karaoke, only when very sloshed (who else besides me joined a group which randomly picked.... who let the dogs out?.LOL) ps. there are words to that darn song... well at least I can bark !!! and If you were there on the Inspiration 10/03, sorry!!!

Also love the dance club or promenade singer if you can swing to any of the music, it's the only dancing that we cought on in lessons.. you can swing to almost anything... well... we do, maybe not anyone else :)

Question for next in line....what is your room preference and why... what do you consider your biggest blunder in room choices?

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

We've had a Cat 11 Suite, Oceanview Balcony, Oceanview, and Interior. We purchased the interior room on the one cruise we went as a family with two inside rooms side by side to reduce the cost. We hated the inside room ... never knowing when it's day and night, not being able to see the ocean or port ... very sad! Big mistake ... we'll never choose an inside room again ... if we don't have enough money for a window, we don't have enough money to cruise!

What's your favorite dessert on a cruise?

Re: Interview the person below you (Board Game)

I don't remember who the cruise director even was on the Triumph. I know he was there to introduce the shows at night and a few other activities. The person who made the most impact on me was the lady from Carnival who was in charge of the Rusty Wallace Fan cruise activities. She was great and more like a part of the group than an employee of Carnival. So I guess to answer the question, I don't think the cruise director really makes or breaks the cruise. I really think you make or break it yourself.

My friends and I will be in Montago Bay, Cozamel and Grand Cayman. What is one "DO NOT MISS" tour in each place and why?
