This year We will have been together for 13 yrs and married for 11 yrs. We met at work at an Environmental Company. Steve is a Soils technician and I was the Receptionist. The 1st time I saw him I almost fell out of my chair, Wow!! My boss would always know when Steve was up at the front desk because he would see dirt tracked in and around my desk. No techs were allowed up front. :lol

13 years of marriage for us this Dec. of 2007. His sister introduced us when he came home from leave 15 years ago from Honduras. He had been divorced 11 years,I 5,we wrote each other while he was in Korea, then he brought a dead soldier home to WI,we dated for about a year, then on one of his month off holidays from the army when he came home to WI we had a special night out that I planned, fancy restaurant, limo, special hotel room,I had homemade chocolates,a fancy smoking type robe for him, a mans necklace, thought it was my special night to him,but he proposed to me,and we both think we are the best thing that has ever happened to each other since,we love each other more today than when we fell in love!

We "met on the net". Seriously!

Both had profiles posted on http://www.match.com. She had not shown upon my 'hit list'; but, apparently, I had been on hers every day. Out of the clear blue sky, I got an e-mail (and this is a direct cut-and-past from the original ... kept on file all these years):

Who the H*** are you? And why do you keep showing up on my computer?

After exchanging a couple hundred e-mails, I showed up at her office and we've been together ever since. 11 years now. Married for 10 years this June!

If I had it all to do over again?

I'd have done it sooner!

We will be married 12 years this summer. I worked with Irene's brother (Manny) at UPS, we were both drivers. Since I was newly divorced, I would have a party at my house every few weeks to celebrate my new freedom. This particular weekend Manny's girlfriend was out of town and he did not want to come to the party alone so he brought his sister. Kind of like bringing the lamb to slaughter with a house full of drunk UPS guys.(he never was too sharp!) Well, on this night my ex-wife was also at the party as we were still occasionally "friendly" ::eek: wink/wink :D. Irene asks me out of the blue why do you still associate with her she's such a ^*#@%#*. So the next weekend Irene invited me to a party she was going to, to get me away from my ex...............................3 months later we were engaged and 13 months from the day we met we got married.

I was in a car with a friend and having a nicotine fit I noticed that the guys in the car next to us had my brand so I bummed a ciggy. We had no intention of bothering with these guys. We were on our way to visit her sailor bro in SandyEggo, uniforms & romance awaited:girly. LOL ANyway they followed us and it was a good thing because her junker car caught fire.:help The guys put it out and DH & I have been together ever since:couple.
We've been married 39 years. I did manage to dump the cigarettes.

What great stories above!

I met my husband in my apartment. I was sharing the apartment with a friend I knew from college, and she invited one of her male friends up for a weekend visit. Now, in his mind, they were friends, but she did have somewhat of an interest in him. Anyway, I was angry with her as I had to take a huge exam for work the Tuesday of that week, and really needed a quiet weekend. So, he came through the door, spotted me sitting on the couch -- hair up in a ponytail, no makeup, wearing an old flannel shirt and a pair of sweatpants with a hole in the knee.

That was in February 1989. We were engaged in April 1989 and married a year later.

As for the friend... last time I saw her was April 1989.

Just celebrated 14 years of marriage. We had a mutual friend our freshman year at Iowa State. We began dating in the spring of our sophomore year, and the rest, as they say, is history! ;)

We actually met through the "talking personals" in Vancouver. You record your ad, and the guys record one, and we listen to each other's.

Well, one day, I got a message from a guy saying "I'm the guy you're looking for". I thought he was pretty arrogant so deleted the message.

There was another one a couple of days later. We ended up meeting, and we're still together today, almost 8 years later.

He was the 55th person I'd met through the personals, I was his first!!

I was a ride operator at Knott's Berry Farm amusement park, she was a customer. We made small talk. She returned a couple of times, then she wrote to me after she returned to Oregon. I returned a letter, we wrote back and forth, then she moved to California nine months after we met. We married six months after that. Have been together over 35 years now. She is still the one that rocks my world.

I was married 18 years to my former husband Patrick a 100% black Irish type personality.. and had an epiphany while he was biking around Ireland on a biking land cruise for three weeks with a buddy.. from work....the kids and I were home.. and it was like that a lot as he was a Tri-Athelete and we were not..=shrug..

..as my Momma would later come to say..in my support..:lol.. he was gone about one week TOO long.. the first week I noticed how much calmer and relaxed my kids were..towards the second week I noticed how much slower, and calmer I was.. about the end of the 3rd week. I totally realised what I had been dealing with, and how it affected my kids, and how we interacted.... Ex-husband is type A personality with an internal temper.. the house had to be CONSTANTLY IMMACULATE.. and if not WHY NOT??>. etc etc..if I had extra pounds on it was like when are you going to take them off..etc etc..I "only" worked part-time , so it was not like I had a *real job* and was bringing in a "real income" yada yada yada,

well to be concise after he returned I was DONE...as in you are OUTTA here fella.. and GOODBYE..

and true to be uncool..turns out Cynthia's best friends *THE twins* Dad Mark, and I had known wach other casually for 8 years..one of those yeah I'll bring them to the dance, if you'll pick them up etc, etc.. he'd been a single parent divorced Dad for 10 years..

well he found out through the kids grapevine I was divorcing..and he had no current girlfriend

and asked me out as he figured I was way too cute, and cooked, baked cleaned, worked, taught catechism at the church, was on the PTO at school , on the Board at the American Legion..etc..etc to be as he put it "on the shelf" very long..( it filled a million empty hours of husband off doing his sports things!!..)

I was simply STUNNED.. I had no idea he even knew I existed other than as "Cynthia's Momma"..he said I'd always admired you but you were married and that's a HUGE NONO..

so we went out om my Late Grampa's anniversary of being gone ( 6-6-66) 6-6-97.. and been together ever since..married 10 years this Fall..and I would not take Powerball for him.. he was SO worth the wait.Tripping over him was the best thing in my life after my kids!!..:)..Joanne
