This is turning into a nightmare.
My cruise is booked from UK to Ruby. Now I need a hotel near the ship but they're all too expensive. Does anyone know of cheaper hotels near Port Everglades/Ft Lauderdale that won't break the bank.
The ones I've looked at rate at about $200 and more for one night.
Thanks

Not sure when you are cruising, but the Grande is having a $149 special. It is very near the port and basically a brand new hotel. Try this link: Grande

The closest and most convenient hotel to Port Everglades is Hyatt's Pier 66

It's not cheap, but excellent views of the ships coming and going. My parents always stay there the night before sailing.
Just a couple minutes from the pier. They have great rates in summer. Winter is expensive.

5th Dec.
I realised I was thinking pounds when it is in fact dollars so it's not expensive at all;)
So I'll book the Embassy Suites. Thanks

I stayed at Embassy Suites on 17th Street when we did the Gr8 Escape cruise in February. It was very comfortable and convenient!!

LaQuinta in Hollywood, Fl. Paid $149 for a room during March (high season). Provides free shuttle to and from the airport/pier. Continental breakfast also. Great place for a pre-cruise stay!

Juggles, I have lived in the US but I'm back home in Canada these days! Why do you ask? :CAN

I'm worried at how I get from Miami airport to the Embassy Suites, I've booked it now. There are few flights to Lauderdale from Uk so we fly to Miami

Call the hotel and ask if they have a free shuttle from the airport. Otherwise, take a taxi.

I don't believe any of the FLL hotels offer free shuttle to Miami airport...only to FLL airport.

depending on how many in your party- we had 6 adults so we got a white stretch limo that costs 33.00 per person round trip. we used www.larryslimo.com

Hotels will fluctuate in prices. What one person pays this month is not what the next one will pay next month.

We booked the Hampton Inn in August for 89.00 per night. Same hotel for February--236.00 per night

As an ex year round Floridian, all FL hotels are far cheaper during summer months. Premium prices are Nov - April (the "season").

Somebody has told me there is a train service...i.e. a shuttle to the rail station then only a few stops to Port Everglades. That sounds a good option. 2- 4 $

tri shuttle- only runs a few trains so if you dont catch it on time you might have to wait a few hours til the next one. And you gotta slep the luggage from the plane to the train. I dont think its a good option--unless you make the connecting with no wait

We've booked a night at the Renaissance for our Crown Princess cruise in October. Anyone have input on this hotel?

Thanks
