If you take me serious, it's your problem
Yes, the above and beyond special is probably one of the important deciding factors in our deciding to book our winter cruise with HAL. the most important reason was i couldn't find another line that wasn't doing a trans-canal itinerary. there really isn't a great enough fare discount to offset having to fly back from the west coast, and that i'm not really heart set on cruising the mexican coast.

our verandah recieved only $100 OBC for the cabin(not per person) our 11day cruise from HAL.... but also received an extra $200 OBC from a cruise booking site. so i don't know if the OBC differs if you book directly with HAL.

We do not book directly through HAL.

We have been able to deal with a TA that we like for nearly 25 years.

By buying Future deposits while on a ship, we get shipboard credit for a future cruise. We also get shipboard credit by owning Carnival stock and since we use the AMEX Platinum card to pay for our cruises, we get shipboard credit there. And sometimes we get cruise credit from out TA.

So far none of the cruises that we have booked qualified for either the Explore4 program (offered last summer) or the Above and Beyond program.
